ITS NOT fastboot oem unlock its fastboot flashing unlock. Who else wants to crack it? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Guides, News, & Discussion

Seriously im getting so sick of these "you just have to wait" I DO NOT JUST HAVE TO WAIT. Saying "you just have to wait" is not helping anyone, why aren't any of you actually trying to crack this?!
We buy the phone, its ours to destroy. Its open source so it shouldnt. I mean ffs is this a developers forum or customer goddamn support
I unlocked the bootloader for update with fastboot flashing unlock_critical. TWRP would not go from there obviously, but its a start. Where are all the real developers at lets crack this nut. This is BULL**** that xiaomi is forcing this lock ON AN UNLOCKED PHONE. Don't comment if you are as useless as 80% of the posters on this topic, im trying to make this a REAL developer thread with goals of actually accomplishing something, just like the olden days...

Bro it's only matter of 3 days only. Send request wait 3 days and unlock
Easy!
And every OEM has their own policies related to bootloader unlock
Some require unique code (motorola and others)
Some allow unlock straight forward (nexus old days)
Some don't even allow the unlock (**** you honor)
And secondly there are always are second way to unlock
Like back in days honor have second way in which we our self generate codes for unlock.
Even if you do little more search implicitly xiaomi also sends code and push a fast boot oem unlock <with unique code> in mi flash tools
I remember when i bought redmi note 3, some developers figured out to unlock bootloader unofficially by flashing emmc but main fuss is you always have to make sure you don't accidentally relock-bootloader while flashing new firmware, so i unlock it with official way.
See with our poco they gave us 3 days time to get request, so I don't think it's an major issue
Else we have to figure out how and with what algo they generate codes.
I will find and post link for alternative version mi unlock which provides code for our device(it also fetch from xiaomi servers and only difference with official tool is, it won't unlock automatically) for your case study

I think people will spend their effort only on things that are real trouble.
And unlocking in 3 days is NOT an issue, just annoyance.
And it'll take more than 3 days to find the unofficial unlocking way.

I got my poco today and unlocked 5 minutes after i bind my account on it hahaha no 2 or 3 day waiting time

Bootloader unlocking discussion thread

I made this thread to try and get the get the flame burning again on this topic. It seems since we've achieved safestrap people don't seem too interested in pursuing an unlocked bootloader. I understand that if i want AOSP i should try trading my phone for one with an unlocked bootloader (knowing that somebody is going to comment saying that). But what does that do for the community? Nothing productive. Speaking theoretically here, how is a bootloader unlock achieved with the bootloader lock key? Is there some way of inputting it to unlock the bootloader? What happens if you have the wrong key? Is there a way to create script a keygen that goes through every possibility of however many digit of a code the bootloader lock key is? Or can it only be done via exploit?
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this. Let the discussion begin.

If you took the time to read the numerous discussions on this you'd know the answers. People are dropping the unlocked bootloader since even the S4's hasn't been unlocked (since MDK baseband). Regarding the five key questions, it would take a super computer thousands of years to try every possibility. Wrong one would equal bricked phone. Exploit would be only way, and now that Geohot works for Google, he's out of the picture and I'm sure the other Devs aren't going to bother. SS is fine for now, you can always switch carriers if you care that much.
So the community on this device will never progress. Awesome.

That is a real possibility. Now with this lesson learned, look for a carrier or device next time that does not lock the bootloader. HTC locks their bootloader but is good enough to provide us users with a way to unlock it. As mentioned, bootloaders are WAY different than obtaining root and there is a very real chance of killing the device in the trial and error process.
I feel where you are coming from i felt the same way. Switched for an HTC One m8 and besides the fact that the bootloader can be unlocked, it's just a much better phone. Should give it a shot! A GS5 is an equal trade for an m8 on craigslist so it shouldn't be too hard. It does seem the general consensus is that the dev's have given up on even trying to unlock it so i would just accept it and move on unfortunately.

Calling all of you with unlocked bootloaders!

Hey guys, I'm a rookie coder/reverse engineer who is going to try his hand/luck at cracking the V20 variants with locked bootloaders. I'm with US Cellular and was disappointed when I upgraded this past weekend to a locked-out V20. I'm digging through the internals, decompiling some system apps, and scratching my head in attempts to find a root exploit somewhere. I'm trying multiple methods, but of course I'm only one man, and a busy one at that. These things take time, as I'm sure other developers could vouch for...
...which brings me here to you guys. If you would, please, provide me with the information you used to unlock your bootloader:
- IMEI (settings > about phone > status > imei or dial *#06#).
- device-id (found with fastboot oem device-id). Just copy-pasting the terminal/command prompt output is fine.
- and most importantly, the unlock.bin that LG emailed to you.
You can post/upload everything in this thread or email it to me at [email protected] (mods, this is not my primary email, so don't worry about spam/private info disclosure). If it's not inconvenient, throw "LG V20" somewhere in the title so I can sort out what I need from the other junk. The bigger sample size, the better, so don't be afraid to contribute just because other people have.
With enough time, effort, and of course luck, I may be able to find a way to generate my own .bin files, and ultimately generate .bin files for the locked bootloader variants.
Thanks so much in advance!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/unlock-technical-steps-to-make-unlocked-t3165391/page9
Look at post #88
Unlock.bin has already been reversed engineered.. And useless unless some one leaks the private key..
Darn, thanks for the sad news... oh well. Of course, I've already learned that nothing is ever easy in this field.
Guess I'm off to try some other things, but I'll stick around in case I find anything interesting.
I'm even more of a rookie, so I'm a little confused. Isn't "onlocking the bootloader" the same as "Enable OEM Unlock" option in the developer setting? My question is can I then use ( www (dot) installandroidrom (dot) co (dot) uk/2016/11/how-to-root-lg-v20-without-pc.html (can't post URL's Grrrrrrrr) ) this to get root access? Mine is the H915 (canadian) version, so that may have a baring on both these statements.
I'm really looking forward to hopefully some day maybe with a little luck, getting full control over the product I own.

OEM unlock only is for using the phones cell service on carrier's other than the one the phone was designed for. It's not the same as a bootloader unlock or root though. Nor are root and bootloader unlock the same thing.

Hmm. That doesn't seem to jive with "OEM Unlock is a protective in Android Lollipop and later that is usually a step that users need to enable in order to officially unlock the bootloader of their device" which I read on other sites.

You are right OEM unlock is for bootloader unlock..
But the oem unlock present in developer option in our phones do not work..
Consider this it is a door to bootloader unlock but lg and carries have not jus locked but jammed the door..
It gets ticked but doesn't do anything in system and bootloader levels..

It's more like the OEM Unlock switch is a mere door knob towards opening the door to the free lands of unlocked bootloaders. But the carrier's like AT&T, VZW, and Sprint placed not just a simple lock - but 5 locks all of different arrangements to make it super hard to get it unlocked. That knob ain't going to do you any good until you figure out the 5 locks first.
But yeah that switch was just there to give us a false sense of happiness that they might have given us a chance.
has anyone tried dirty santa? if you do im not responsie if anything goes wrong lol

[Completed] Activation of a Redmi Note 3

So hey guys,
To make a long story short i lost my old phone was low on money and got myself a Redmi Note 3 over some mysterious friends of friends and now i am stuck with a probably stolen phone.:crying:
Now befor everyone says that i am an ass for keeping it, i tried to give it back and even told the police but they just said to me it wasn't worth it so yeah now i have this problem.
So now to the real problem the phone is telling me that: "This device may be associated with existing Mi Account (some numbers and stars). Pleas login to activate this device."
'Well i don't have the passwort so i can't get in but the bootloader is also locked so i can't flash a new ROM, i tried to unlock the bootloader from the pc but you have to have debbuging enabeld.
And to conclude can someone tell me if i just bought a piece of junk or am i just stupid and if yes could you help me?
No one will help with that here. Sorry. Xda does not help hacking into stolen devices.

ACT now for bootloader unlock | Official Whatsapp and Telegram groups Realme1

Hello folks,
So i've recently bought realmeone recently primarily due to its hardware. Am not a big fan of color os tbh and in my limited research found some stuff from the internet
First, the bad bit :
Realme1's twin brother oppo F7 still has no way of unlocking bootloader.
Oppo seems to have disabled (deleted?) fastboot binaries.
Expecting GPL compliance from mediatek SOC is asking a bit too much.
Now the good bit :
Realme1 is project treble ready.
We've had examples treble doing wonders for even obscure mediatek devices like this one.
Root and twrp and custom roms are only possible once we have a working way to unlock the phone. And with the issues like messed up multi tasking atleast on the 3gb variant (which i have by the way) it becomes all the more important to have a good custom rom scene to fall back to if color os becomes too unbearable.
I'd assume anyone whose come looking for realmone here on xda, like me, would want to see some dev support for this awesome device. So I am hoping all you folks would take some time and mail oppo at [email protected] asking to make the device's boot loader unlockable.
For those of us who are laziest here's a draft that you can copy paste but i urge people who have time to make their own mail body so that every mail wont look same
Dear oppo,
First of all, as a user of realmeone, thanks for this great value for money smartphone. Many of us power users in the realmeone community would love to have the option to unlock the boot loader so as to be able to root the device. Rooting is essential to some of us who've been used to some nifty root tools like system wide ad blocker etc. We hope oppo will help us exploit full potential of its hardware by allowing boot loader unlock at the earliest.
Thanks

We've also have whatsapp and telegram group for realme1 running to better co ordinate these things and help each other out, find links below:
PS : If anyone knows any other mail id to contact them, feel free to point out I'll add that too here.
Done, email sent! Though I've just ordered my phone and yet to receive it.
We can backup and flash images using miracle box. I mean I haven't personally tried because I don't have miracle box but have seen in the forums that ppl are backing up invidiual images n flashing the firmware back into the device.
I don't know how miracle box works but if some genius can help us then maybe we can make some easy fastboot/sp Tools based tools to flash images..
I'm talking about Oppo f7..
I've already mailed and got response that there's no way I can unlock bootloader and they also told me that it voids warranty and crap so they don't provide that. Regarding kernel sources, they simply ignored it.
I'm going to return the phone back to Amazon. No wonder why XDA opened a forum for OPPO phones which is not developer friendly.

Sorry but had to cancel the order due to stubborn policy of Oppo not allowing bootloader unlock and fastboot binaries. There won't be any development for this phone despite being such a good phone. Heck, I need root for few of my favorite apps and thus can't miss them due to this stupid policy by OEM. No thanks, will wait for Mi A2 or buy Asus zenfone max pro
I think we can plead them through change.org

Finally Amazon agreed to take away the phone. Today the guy took the phone back and hopefully the refund will be processed soon. Screw you OPPO for your ****ty policies. I shouldn't have bought your phone at first place. No bootloader unlock=go to hell.
Now, search for another phone begins.

I just chatted with cc and told him the phone has ram management issues and ask him to check the reviews, everyone is complaining about it. He asked if I need a replacement or return, I politely told him to refund/return, he processed the return request.
This is the first time I ever returned something to Amazon so may be that's why the cc agreed easily. Your mileage will vary. Good luck.

Third party boot-loader
Sent from my MotoG3 using XDA Labs
What third party are they even talking about? The bootloader has to be unlockable to do anything, unless they find some exploits.

A Request to RealMe Officials
Hi, The RealMe Team
This device really has got the attention of the people with it's specifications, just like how Xiaomi redmi phones did but unfortunately this Locked Bootloader thing is really making me feel as if i am using an Apple, please let the people enjoy their freedom of using an Android. Perhaps in return company will gain more customers.
Thank You.

Avneet
Has anyone tried the Kingoroot app on the phone? I know MediaTek phones can be difficult to root but I was able to root MTK6737 devices with Kingoroot. It does not unlock the bootloader or anything but it gives you root privileges.
I use Oppo F7 and it won't work on the phone...

OEM / bootloader unlock , we gotta standup for our selves.

Brothers, we need to standup for ourselves and stop this ***** madness.
1. I've sent Huawei many emails, it obviously didn't help.
2. If we start like a mass petition or class action or some other case together, we might stand a chance. Remember we're not the only ones with locked bootloader. / Grayed out OEM unlock in developing settings. The mate 20 pro users and possibly other models have the same issue. We have to team up.
Perhaps we can make an email format here that we copy paste and send to hauwei each of us individually. They would be spammed with say 1 million emails.
3. We have paid allot for this device , an android device should be open and customizable. There is absolutely no valid reason to lock down an android device, unless you as smartphone brand try to protect your spyware .
Anyway are you with me brothers ? Let's get the full potential for the hardware that we paid for. Huawei needs to start offering the bootloader codes again and enable OEM unlock. Period. Other resolutions are not acceptable.

I guess 99,5 % of the users don`t care about root. So it will most probably not happen. Nokia also will not provide help to unlock the bootloader as most other OEMS. Get a Samsung , Xiaomi, OnePlus or Pixel phone if you want root. You buy a phone as is, not how you want it to be.
I do not agree with your mindset. That's a typical beta give up mentality.. no offense.
Huawei used to provide the unlock service service before, and now suddenly it stopped doing so. It can't go without consequences..
I love the hardware and the big screen, there are no better alternatives at the moment.
That 99% of the people doesn't want root, it doesn't mean that the remaining 1% is wrong or need to be neglected. If 1% of the users team up we would have 200.000 plus supporters that can show their voice and that can make this happen.
I am in
Count me in too!! This insolence cannot go unpunished.
Not to play spoilsport but your suggestion would work if indeed a million people request for it. From what I understand, the Chinese version of the Huawei phones can be unlocked without issues. Only the international version has this issue. Considering that the majority of the phones sold would be Chinese (which is their main market) who are not affected and accounting for a minuscule part of the phones they sell for the global audience are that interested in rooting, getting them to do anything has a low probability. Having said that, if root is so critical for anyone, the Chinese version is always an option. Most of the issues are resolved related to the Chinese specific devices

I hope this changes soon and that these methods are made public, instead of commercialized by 3d parties. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
