Are the apk's in your zip the correct ones to work with your CPU architecture? The apps have to be compatible with your hardware.
You said they install with no issues when installing from PlayStore, maybe that is because the PlayStore has the ability to detect your hardware to install the correct version of the app on your device, if the apps in your zip are built for different hardware than the ones that install from PlayStore, that would be the issue.

Ah, you had conflicting data on the device, the clean install wiped out that conflicting data and allowed it to properly flash.

I've searched up the forums and I did not get the solutions I sought.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy Mini ST-5570, running on CM10 27 August nightly build. When I attempted to flash gapps, Play Store didn't appear at all, no matter which one I flashed (2 August-signed or the one by KonstaT). In the apps list (manage apps), Play Store wasn't even there. Is there a way to fix this problem such that when I flash gapps it would appear?
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Try flashing another one. Make sure the one you flash is for your android version.
CM doesn't contain gapps, so, download the apk of play store, and copy to your sdcard, them, open with any explorer

This won't work because it needs to be installed as a system app.

That doesn't work, I've tried flashing 2 types of gapps and they both don't work.

Actually, I have just found out the root of this problem - my phone has "not enough space available", so I had to do all the "adb commands" to delete all my ringtones and unnecessary stuff -.- But the problem is, my internal phone space gets rather low recently.
I would love to try out the inverted gapps sometime. What is it actually?

Gapps is a package containing certain Google Apps (that what it means). Usually these apps are not found in the market (anymore). It also contains some Google framework files. That version may be smaller, containing only the essential stuff.
make 2 partitions in your sd card, them, install link2sd, after that, transfer some programs to sdcard, after that, install gapps in recovery mode:

I figured that since it took me forever to figure out how to install GooglePlay store on the N9009, the dual sim China variant running 4.4.2 KK, and get it working properly I thought it'd be worth sharing with others who might want to do the same.
Things you will need:
Rooted N9009
Odin 3.07 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421
CWM Recovery http://downloadandroidfiles.org/download-n9006-cwm-recovery-6-0-3-70922-fix-adb-tar/
GAPPS I used CM11 GAPPS from cynanogenmods wiki found here http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
ES File Explorer/Root Explorer
You will need to flash a custom recovery through Odin. Run Odin with administrator privileges and click the PDA button. Locate the n9006-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.7(0922)-fix-adb.tar file and click start. Your phone should reboot. You should noticed that we're using the N9006 CWM recovery, which was the only one I could find that'd work with the N9009.
The problem I discovered when trying to flash GAPPS on the N9009 was that the priv-app cache was full and wouldn't allow all of GAPPS to install to /system/priv-app/. This is where I had to use a root explorer and delete a couple of apps from /system/priv-app/ For example, I deleted the Samsung gallery app and a couple other non crucial non-needed Samsung junk. Now you should be able to flash the GAPPS zip from CWM.
This was the best method I found for installing the GooglePlay Store and having it run correctly. I tried to install it manually by copying Google Play Services framework and everything over to the folders myself but kept running into the gapps has quite unexpectedly, google services has crashed, or the play store would just never connect.
maybe you can use the google installer in wandouji market
also need root
you will not trip knox and only need install an apk and let the software to do it.
[RE] maybe you can use the google installer in wandouji market
Well it did need all of the Google Services to run properly and I'm not sure whether Wandouija store would include them all or not. Also I can't really speak/read Chinese and I can't remember if the Wandouija store was on the phone already or not.
I just figured it would be best to flash it as a system app from twrp because there always seems to be less problems that way.
Maybe next time I have to add the play store to my bosses dual sim Chinese phone I'll try it that way.
detailed Instructions please

It is actually warez and is not allowed to even be talked about on XDA. Should a mod come across this topic, both of your replies will be deleted for even mentioning it.

oh I see, I had no idea! I won't be looking into it.
but it there a good tool that can fix glitched packages? my system thinks com.google.android.GoogleCamera is installed but I can't find it anywhere and any install of it is blocked x'D
for now I installed a modded one I found on xda that let's you have older + latest 4.2 with modified package name com.google.android.GoogleCameraMOD and it's working....
Are you on Pure Nexus, by chance? I know you're not stock since you mentioned 7.1.2. If you're using that ROM, in the download section underneath the ROM and gapps, there's a camera fix zip and you need to flash that as well. @GizmoTheGreen

You have to make sure that the gapps file is correct for your CPU architecture and your android version.
Go to Opengapps .com, select the CPU architecture for your device, then select your android version, then look at the different gapps packages, the different files are different sizes, from the full size package with the whole set of gapps all the way down to the smallest package that only has the bare minimum google apps. You can look at the info for each package to see which apps are included in which bundle. Select the package that suits you.
Once you've selected your CPU, your android version and the package size of your choice, click the download button. Then try flashing it.

Google Play Services is gms core, try downloading Google Play Services for your CPU architecture then manually install the apk from internal storage.
Or, if you are rooted, you can try sideloading the Google Play Services apk using adb or adb push or a root explorer file manager app on android to push the apk to /system/priv-app folder or the /system/app folder.

Boot to recovery, factory reset the device in recovery, then wipe cache partition, then reboot to system. After the device boots, power off and boot to recovery again, then flash the gapps package.

Gapps are not built for specific devices, they are built for the different CPU architectures and different android versions, you have to make sure that the file you download is compatible with your hardware and your android version. If you used open gapps and banks gapps then you have already used the TESTED gapps packages or they wouldn't be available to anyone, they don't release gapps that have not been thoroughly tested.
If none of the files will flash correctly then the issue is probably not the issue, the issue is probably an issue with your device itself somehow.

What gapps package are you using? Can I get a link?
If you're downloading from the opengapps site, are you selecting "ARM" in the options? Or are you selecting ARM64?
That error means that the gapps package was made for a device with different hardware/CPU architecture.
You should be using gapps for ARM(non-ARM64) devices.
