Is it possible to unlock apps using face recognition, I know you can use smart lock but that uses finger print or pin, any idea how to use it by face recognition?
Without xposed would be great

I just discovered, after setting smart lock with both trusted face and place, that if I lock the screen using an app (LockScreen for example, which I have set as a Nova shortcut), when I turn my screen back on smart lock will not work...
The same happens if I use the Greenify hibernate + lock screen shortcut. Has anyone had the same problem and found a workaround? I'm really used to lock the screen with a shortcut but I'd also like to use smart lock
Thanks in advance!

You're manually locking the phone which over rides the smart lock functionality. No work around at this time, that I know of.
I'm sure there are a few of you that share annoyance about this. Here's an entire AOSP issue tracker devoted to it: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=79889
I use an NFC implant to unlock my phone. It worked beautifully on 4.4.4 with Xposed. Lollipop brings NFC unlock with smart unlock, but after scanning an authenticated tag, you are presented with an additional keyguard that you then have to swipe. Even if you're simply using pattern unlock, you have to hit that little arrow at the bottom of the keyguard before you're presented with the pattern grid. Unlocking requires an extra swipe. Stupid.
With Secure Settings/Tasker, disabling keyguard/pattern causes the "Black Screen of Death" which renders the phone useless until reboot. As a result, I've stayed on KitKat.
Can a developer implement settings to disable that keyguard conmpletely? So if you're using standard PIN or pattern you're presented with the pin input or pattern grid immediately, or in my case, once the NFC tag is scanned it brings me straight to the homescreen?
Bump. Someone?
Bump
Wanting to implement this as well... xposed module that used to do it on 4.4 no longer works on lollipop
So i'm using a note 5 with the finger print scanner as my main lock. When i have the gear s2 paired to my phone it does something (that i think is abnormal). It adds without me asking the swipe to unlock on the lock screen on top of the finger print screen. What's really annoying is sometimes it doesn't even go to the finger scan screen and unlocks while sometimes it does.
Does anyone else have this or is there a way to get rid of this? I just want a secure lock
You may have activated "Googles smart lock" which does that when your connected to a trusted device... Like a Bluetooth, or when the phone is on your person, or certain locations like home.... Settings>lock screen & security> secure lock settings> smart lock.... Plus's Google "Google smart lock" should help a little.

Glad I could help!
Hello guys,
is there a another way to lock our S8's instead of using the power button with gestures or apps?
I'll tried several apps like double tap to lock, but these kind of apps blocked the face unlock an fingerprint scanner.
It would be cool, if we could lock it with a hard press on the homebutton or long hold on the finger scanner!
Have a good one
Nova launcher, and Apex both have tap to lock and they don't mess with the fingerprint. Theres also an app I used a lot but idk if it will mess with the fingerprint. Invisible lock wigget

All in One Gestures lets you lock the screen with taps to the status bar or navigation bar. I have mine set so that a double-tap to the left end of the navigation bar locks the phone.
The only downside is that third-party locking solutions make the phone lock fully, so your PIN/password is required to unlock it. You can't use your fingerprint or the iris scanner to unlock it again until your PIN/password has been entered.
Yep when enabled in nova you get 2 options.

Reason 8069 to just use Nova for everything.
Use dexterity assistant

Currently I have no way to use my P20 Pro's screen lock functions, so I am looking for a good and minimalistic lock screen app that lets me use a pattern or even my face to unlock my phone.
Anything you guys can recommend? I used the ZUI Locker before and it had too much trash that came with it.
