Question: is there an SSH app like bitvise that can work on Android? - General Questions and Answers

I would like to know if there is an SSH app that can do what bitvise does on pc, like an ssh app that supports ssh tunneling for android, I want to be able to use some ssh tunnel information to change my ip on my android but the android proxy / socks changers i have found so far doesn't have the following options that bitvise ssh has (ip, port, username, passowrd), so I would appreciate if someone can suggest an app that can do this on android.

WM5 Terminal Services Client

I am using the O2 Atom and would like to use the built in TS client to connect to some servers. Unfortunately, for security reasons, the TS port numbers are non standard.
How do I change the default TSC port numbers?
The servers use FIPS but I can lower this requirement if the WM5 client can't handle it.
Finally, currently Terminal services is allowed only through a VPN can I use VPN with the built-in client?
I've configured VPN for POP3 but don't seem to be able to get it to work with the TS client.
default port is 3389, if for example you connect to 192.168.1.1, in terminal server client you just add the ip address 192.168.1.1 and click connect, if the default port has changed to for example 7878, you would now type in the server address 192.168.1.1:7878

Thanks for the reply ... but I think it doesn't work like XP or any of the other Desktop Terminal Services Client.
If I type 10.1.1.1:1234 for example to connect to port 1234 on Terminal server 10.1.1.1 I will get a server not found error .... seems the Built-in Terminal services client doesn't understand the "ort" syntax.
This is infact the syntax I have been using from my XP but Can't use ip on the Atom.
Anyone done this before ?

Need WM mobile browser with SOCKS proxy support or workaround

Hello,
Im using a htc hd2 with WM6.5
Does anyone know of a mobile browser in which I can change SOCKS proxy settings - just like mozilla firefox? (ive tried minimo and fennec a3, but no good, unless I could use some addon in fennec).
I want to tell my browser to listen on port 1080 for a SOCKS connection (im port forwarding with pocketputty).
Alternatively, does a program like 'tsocks' exist for windows mobile, in which I can socksify for my mobile browser? I havent used tsocks before btw.
Or finally, is there a way to edit the registry in WM6.5 so that the browser does listen on port 1080 for SOCKS?
Thankyou,
Will
yeah...bro..i need sm workaround as well !! please read my thread if it relates !!!
Summary:
I am attempting to use a remote SSH server as a proxy for browsing the web on my htc hd2.
This is called a "Poor man's VPN" - If you have never heard of this, please read this: http ://wiki.freaks-unidos.net/ssh-port-forwarding
I'm currently using pocket putty with dynamic port forwarding to forward port 1080 on a remote SSH server back to my localhost on my device.
I cannot seem to find a mobile browser that has the ability to configure SOCKS proxy settings. I need to be able to tell the browser to use a SOCKS proxy, to listen to localhost on port 1080 which is being forwarded.
Since I havent found a browser to do this, I have tried to use proxycap to sockify a browser. I basically want to redirect the traffic coming from the ssh tunnel with proxycap to the browser even though the browser has no SOCKS support.
I dont have a technical background.
I dont know if this actually works
Is it possible to do the above? If so, how do I configure proxycap to act between the SSH tunnel and the mobile browser...
well I found a way to configure proxy settings on minimo
you type into the URL "about:config".
Then you change some entries
network.proxy.socks......
however, I ran into another problem...does wm6.5 have a problem with with localhost or 127.0.0.1???
Because i read that localhost doesnt work on wm past version 5...
how else can get a loopback address??

SSH tunnel to use Gtalk?

Hi,
I can't access Gtalk on my Desire since the company uses a special APN instead of the standard APN. So the port is closed.
Can I use SSH to port forward somehow and use it? I have an online ssh account.

[Q] Help my nexus s get past the chinese firewall asproxy/connectbot

hi
I have a Nexus S. Great phone. Would be better if I could get around the Chinese Firewall. Just moved to China from US.
I have rooted the phone, I have connectbot and asproxy. I have a server in the US. I can open an ssh connection via connectbot and can forward ports, but I'm not sure what I should forward to - the IP address of my server and port I'm opening on the server? - localhost?.
I tried a few things:
Tried connectbot ssh tunneling to my server, and forward port 80 to localhost:8080, then type "localhost:8080" in my browser. No luck.
Tried with connectbot ssh tunneling to my server, to forward port 80 to server IP address port 22 (this is what I open the connection on via connectbot also). No luck.
Tried with connectbot ssh tunneling to my server, to forward port 80 to localhost:9999, then with ASproxy set up a proxy - which is also to my server.com using my login name, and proxy port 22 (which is what connectbot is connected to) - then tried to have ASproxy forward port 9999 to proxy (port 22). No luck.
I figure it has to be possible.
What I want: to forward all app info (gmail, gtalk, browser, gvoice, SIP, facebook) through the SSH tunnel.
Any thoughts very much appreciated. I feel like I have a faucet, and two hoses, and can't get the water to go through them.
Some interest in my post I guess but no replies.
If I hired a freelancer to program this would it be very complex?
How long would out take a competent developer to build?
