Hi,
I have an SD Card, which I formatted for use as internal storage. Now I'd like to copy some music files to my phone.
I do not want to copy the files to the phone's internal memory. What location should I paste my files through USB so that it actually goes to the external SD Card and not the internal phone memory ?
Bump!

Has anyone else experienced problems copying files from the SD card to internal SD or MicroSD? I receive an "insufficeint space" error, even though there is plenty of space available. I can copy the same file from MicroSD to internal SD with no problems, I can copy the same file from MicroSD to SD with no problems. Running Revolver 311 now, had same issue on Krackd 142. Thanks in advance for your help...
I think I'm a little lost with the description... If the internal SD is the internal storage of the TF and the MicroSD is the external storage, how do you connect the other SD?
If its via dock, do you know where does it mount it?

Yes, it's the sd card that goees into the dock. This is my understanding of the mounts:
/mnt/sdcard = internal storage
/Removable/MicroSD = micro sd card in the tablet itself
/Removable/SD = Full size sd card in the dock (this is the one I have trouble copying from)
Thanks for you help, I'm going to assume it was a corrupt file or files. I was able to copy a different file successfully as well as move a folder off the SD card. I'm going to reformat card and copy files from PC to card and then try and copy again and see if I get any issues. I didn't think about corrupt files before because thay were video files and they played just fine.
In Kies, I show Internal Storage and it has the CWM Backup and Titanium Backup folders. Kies also shows external storage which seems the same size as my removable SD card.
On the phone, if I use Astro and browse SD card I see the CWM and Titanium folders under SDCARD.
I am totally confused - what is Kies showing as Internal and what is external and why doesn't it match Astro's SDCARD view?
Because they are different programs, and the phone has a built in internal 16 gigabyte sd card. Also a slot for a removeable sd card up to 32 gigabytes
So are there different device names for the internal and external SD cards? How to I reference each SD?
Internal sd card is one that comes with phone and external sd is when you put micro sdhc. And to refresh you can go into setting and storage and there you can see both internal and external. You can go to my computer and see both there as well.

The phone only has 1.5GB of internal SD card and
expects you to add your own external SD card.
Which is fine except just about everything favours
using the small internal card instead of the large
external one. The android folder where the obb
files go, .android_secure where apps moved to sd
go, external data downloads for apps. So 1.5GB
won't last you long!
You can however swap which card Android thinks is
the internal and external. So mine now thinks it
has 32GB of internal SD space and 1.5GB external
and uses the 32GB for everything.
To do this, first of all you need root.
Then download this file: http://blade.windows98.co.uk/downloads/vold.emmc.fstab
(right click the
link and use 'save as')
Copy it to your phones SD card
Now using a root file explorer go to /system/etc and
rename the file vold.emmc.fstab as a backup in case
you ever want to revert this swap
Using your file explorer, copy or move the file from
your sd card into /system/etc
Reboot and enjoy :laugh::good:
File copy?
If this works what about system files? Do you need to copy all internal files to external first before swapping?
If so what app will allow you permissions to do so?

Hi,
I'm on the Concept Marshmallow build 3657.
I chose the option to combine my 64GB SD card so it can be used seamlessly with the internal storage (ie- not as portable).
But when I plug my phone into the PC, I only see the ~12GB of internal storage available. Also in a file explorer on the phone, I only see the 12GB internal storage.
In "Storage & USB" I see the internal storage is almost full, 11.00GB used of 11.57GB. And the SD card is listed there, only 739MB used of 56.7GB. I have some apps installed on it.
But how can I either: move photos, audio etc to the SD card from the internal storage (SD doesn't show up in file explorers). I thought the SD card would act as a seamless extension of internal storage, but that doesn't seem to be happening here.
Any advice on what I can do?
My phone is always out of storage space, and whenever I try to migrate my data to my sd card, my internal storage becomes even fuller. I installed a custom rom today, and formatted the sd card as internal storage again and copied some music to it, but it went to the internal storage instead. Help
What are the exact specs of the SD card?
