Since XZP and XZ1 have very similar hardware specs, could XZP possibly flash a XZ1 Rom?

Has Sony officially confirmed whether the dual-sim version of the Z5 will receive the marshmallows update? I have seen press releases about the Z5, but it's not clear to me if the dual-sim version is included, too. Thanks!
Yes it will

May I ask if you have noticed an official press release from Sony, or if it is just an educated guess?

Any dual SIM variant of a phone released by Sony sticks to the same update schedule of the single SIM variant. It will get Android M, don't worry.

Doesn't specifically mention dual sim variant but I assume Z5 listing indicates all variants.

officially only Sony Xperia X is supported yet. They have plan for more devices but not yet confirmed which ones. I too hope I can soon buy an Xperia XZ and use it with Sailfish.
Hello, I have a question for you:
Is there any chance to update Xperia apps and/or themes with the look of the newest XZ1, XZ2 or XZ3 family?
I'd like to keep my phone unlocked and unrooted for Google Pay and other Payment Methods, so hopefully just some apks to install or update.
Thanks a lot!
probably not because u need to modify some files witch are not possible without rooting.
Well just download xz3 themes from apkmirror. They don't require root

I'd like to ask
does anyone on this forum ever trying to flashing Xperia XZs firmware on XZ?
is it can be true?
if its failed, what gonna happen to the phone?
hope you guys can answer it
thank you
Even Dual SIM version do not work properly, XZs firmware won't work at all. They seem like same phones, but their RAM capacity, camera (and probably eMMC/UFS) are different. So, if you wanna make your phone brick do it

I attempted to flash my Sony Xperia XZ Premium F8332 Dual Sim with the Androxyde Sony Mobile Flasher to upgrade to Android 9, but it failed. I attempted to use the Android 9 ROM for the dual sim model G8142, release 47.2.A.10.107.
There does not seem to be any compatible "official" ROMs that will allow me to upgrade to Android 9 with this method. I'm also open to custom ROMs, TWRP, etc. I prefer to use Android 9 over 8 (minus bloatware) if possible, but close to stock.
Is there a technical reason that the firmware for Sony XZ Premium model G8142, release 47.2.A.10.107, would not work for this model?
I apologize in advance if this issue has already been addressed, but I did not find another thread that addresses this specifically. Thank you.

Well, in the first sentence you said you have an xz premium, but gave the xz model number.
The XZ never got a pie update, the XZ premium did.

Oh lord. I'm sorry. When I originally looked it up, it was shown as an xz premium.
