I went to aggressive on removing the bloatwares via ADB. Now I can't open the "Ignore battery optimisation" settings. The recent apps also keep coming back after cleared.
What app is causing that? Is there any apk of it? Don't really want to factory reset.

Use the huawei backup to backup all your apps and settings. Factory reset and then restore all apps and settings. Total transaction time maybe 3-4 hours.

I just got a Nexus 5 phone. Following the instructions in this forum, I was able to unlock the bootloader, get a TWRP Recovery and root the phone. Everything went fine. Then it was time to transfer my apps and data from my old Sony Xperia S. With Titanium Backup Pro on both devices, I made a backup of all apps + system data. Everything ok till that too. Then I restored this backup in Nexus 5. Everything seemed fine, all of the apps were in the app drawer, the ones I opened worked just fine.
But after the first reboot, I get an annoying "Unfortunately process com.android.phone has stopped working" when the home screen loads. No matter what option I choose (Ok or Report), this dialog box just pops up again and again. In the milliseconds between two of this dialog boxes, I can unlock the lockscreen and browse normally (apart from the annoying little box that pops up all the time, of course).
So, what's the best option in this case? Will the factory reset from Android itself solve it, do I need to use the Custom Recovery or can I just go straight to flashing the factory image?

never restore system apps or system data with titanium backup, or this will happen. you can try wiping data in your recovery, that should fix it, but it will wipe your phone clean.
You can't restore system data. You can't even do this from one rom to another let alone different phones
In titanium untick "system" in the edit filters screen.
Then go to the restore screen and select restore missing apps and data.
Then go through each one double checking there are no system apps there and if there are, untick them.
..and yes, you must factory reset now

Guess that's what happens when you trust some Lifehacker article without enough knowledge. It was the system data, then. I unticked every app I hadn't installed by myself.
Concerning the Wipe option, I understand that by wiping the phone clean, that means even the apps that came pre-installed, correct? Chrome, Google Play, the Camera app, the phone app, etc?

Updating, in case somebody goes through the same problem: the factory reset was extremely fast and solved everything. Funny thing is, when I got home and checked the phone, the angry little box wasn't showing anymore. Don't know what happened, but did the reset anyway to be sure.

Hey guys,
I'm in the habit of factory resetting my phone every few months just to keep it clean of junk. Never use the backup option because I thought that it may reimport some junky files/bad settings along with all the other stuff so I start from scratch. Reinstall all apps manually, change all settings one by one, add email accounts manually just as if I was setting up a new phone.
Am I wrong in thinking that way or is the back up option totally safe from reimporting gunk back into the phone? It would certainly save me a ton of time if I used it as all my other stuff like Nova Launcher and Tasker profiles are all backed up and reimported in one step. Factory reset would be a quick thing to do.

To keep data, I flash the whole 8.0 stock firmware after removing -w.
After using days, the phone can't be easily unlocked, even by power key or by FPR. Sometimes, I need to wait a more long time for the phone waking up.
Sometimes the incoming call can't even wake it up, I can't answer the call.
Have reflashed the firmware with -w available then restore all my app via titanium backup. the issue persists.

I'm having a similar issue, but in my case I'm having trouble waking up the phone after it's been unplugged from the charger. If I use my phone all day after a full charge (and after rebooting), it's silky smooth, but the second I plug it in, the issue starts until I reboot again.
It might be extreme, but I've done this multiple times on previous phones. I restore half my apps, say the ones starting with A through M. If there's no problem, then I install half of what's left, say N through S, etc. Keep doing this as a process of elimination. Yes it's tedious but eventually you can narrow down the problem app and/or app data. You could also try restoring all of your apps without data, and if there's no problem then restore the data for half of the apps, etc.
Otherwise, as @PunishedSnake said, don't restore data (or even apps) at all with Titanium Backup. It sucks but we all occasionally have to do that.
I've since factory reset my phone with minimal app installation (no Google restoring of apps), but am still experiencing this frustrating glitch, even with/without unplugging the charger and rebooting.
Debating whether or not I should root (and downgrade).
Safe Mode fixed the problem. I will try to find the apps which prevents the phone from waking up.

I think I've found the problematic app in my case. I've been using immersive mode through Custom Navigation Bar and after disabling it, my phone has become responsive again. After double checking the app's description in the Play Store, it seems the dev hasn't updated it for Oreo yet.

Edited: In order to fix this problem, simply use Tasker to disable Custom Navigation Bar's Immersive mode whenever you turn off the screen, and re-enabling it either when you unlock the phone, or only for specific apps (which is what I do).

Glad to hear you were able to resolve your problem. In my case, I actually don't want immersive mode activated all the time so I may still have to root in order to selectively choose which apps I apply this command to.

Is anybody experiencing problems with notifications after the B402 Update as well? If my phone is in standby for some time, i dont get notifications for Whatsapp and snapchat for example. Even if i turn on the screen or unlock it, they still dont show. I have to open the apps manually to get the messages, which is unacceptable. Anybody knows a solution? However, the battery life improved(who would have guessed that?)
That happens if you don't factory reset after update and/or restore apps from backup.
Try factory reset, install apps from store and restore just the user data of the apps.

Have you disabled "System wakeup" or enabled "Close app after screen off"? If you did, try toggling them and reboot the phone.
Having said that, I have WhatsApp with disabled System wakeup, and I still get notifications, because WhatsApp also utilises Google Play Services to wakeup the app when a notification arrives. I would check the settings of Google Play services on your phone in case something is killing it.

Certainly, I haven't had this type of malfunction, and I've never factory-reset the phone since I got it 18 months ago - that includes the Marshmallow to Nougat upgrade.

This is an old issue, as old as android updates.
Sometimes battery performance decreases with the update, some others is FCs, or notifications, missing stock apps.
Source is XDA, several devices, years of experience and other users that share the same experience.
Don't waste your time debating this, if you don't agree, that's fine.
Actually I think the most common is battery performance decrease which is really annoying when changelog says "battery performance optimisation". After a factory reset magic happens. It's due to old system files (internal and external storage) vs new system files.
Same thing happens after consecutive Windows updates, performance starts to decrease because update doesn't properly clean old files and configs.

After spending hours to disable unwanted notifications and all kind of ads in all the apps and phone settings, is there a way to back this setup up..
In case you have to restore the phone, it would be great and useful to have this done without going through all the settings again.
I do not like MI cloud and I disabled my account. Third party or maybe Google? but as I said more for the settings.

Google will back up your apps installed through PlayStore with their settings and will restore them. No phone settings though. Titanium Backup is another option (requires root). It can backup all system/private apps with their settings, though restoring system apps and their settings may be risky since their versions may differ from those in the ROM/Gapps that you flash.
Titanium is the go to for me.
Saving system settings on the other hand is not so simple, I've tryed several app solutions but always eventually run into problems.
Twrp is the only effective way to properly back up system settings in my experience.
