Hello XDA Members!
I have a Problem with my Samsung Galaxy S6.
Whenever i try to boot it, i'm stuck at the Samsung logo and when i try to reflash the Firmware with Odin Windows says that the device could not be recognized. (I attached a screenshot of the error message it's german unfortunately, sorry for that.)
I also entered the (stock) recovery and wiped everything and also tried the "apply update from ADB" option to test if my PC would recognize my S6 then. Same error message.
What i've tried already:
- Reinstalling the USB drivers multiple times.
- Installing Smart Switch & Kies
- Cleaning the micro USB port of my S6 to check if there's any dirt inside
- Trying multiple USB Ports of my PC (USB 2.0 & 3.0)
I'm out of options right now and wanted to ask you guys if you could help me!
Thanks in advance & greetings from Germany! :highfive:

Tried both, the other PC i've tried didn't had the Samsung Drivers installed though. I don't have access to that PC that often because it's the PC of a friend of mine.
I really run out of ideas right now.

When i boot it, it goes into update mode (picture attached) and this results in a a "no command" screen (also attached).
I can get to the Samsung Logo by choosing the option "Reboot to bootloader" or "Reboot System now" at the Recovery screen.
But then it gets stuck at the Samsung Logo.
I'm guessing that something is messed up here and i would reflash everything via Odin but i just can't get the phone to be recognized by the PC.
Really silly situation.

Sorry i think you didn't get me correctly.
I've already been in the download mode, but Windows doesn't recognize my S6 if I'm in this mode.
And when i start my phone normally via the power button, these 2 screens that i posted above appear.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hi everyone,
I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy following the guide from xda developers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056334).
I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging)
I started ODIN, then my device rebooted. I started SuperOneClick and I received a message saying "device not found".
Then I went to check the guide, and I saw that I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging).
Can anyone help me to fix this?
I'm from Portugal. If I wrote anything wrong sorry for my mistake and for any inconvenience.
Thank you for any help.
Not sure if you're just having problems with Odin recognizing your phone or not but the basics are to ensure you have the phones drivers installed and enable usb debugging. Afterwards you make sure your phone gets recognized fully from your computer once plugging it in. If so you start Odin AND THEN plug in your phone with the directions for getting to download mode (removing battery and holding volume button etc) and in Odin it should show a connection on a com port tile. Then you load up your files and send them. If anything I am sure you just may have a problem by not being in download mode?

I have the latest drivers from my cell phone operator. I can only have access to Kies on my pc (but now, kies doesn't recognize any device plugged to the pc), my phone don't let me gain access to the menu and to any application.
Get into download mode and go into keis and start a firmware upgrade and initialization. (you will need model number and serial number behind the battery) and go through the process it tells u to. Then you will be back to stock, then try to root from there the proper way.

You could find a stock ROM first (depends on where you bought your phone / country, provider) and flash through Odin. Unplug your phone from your PC > task manager > kill all KIES apps > turn on your phone into download mode > open ODIN > connect phone to PC
Then ODIN should show your phone is connected with a yellow box, depending on what ROM you downloaded you put the needed file in the PDA box (file with the name such as I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XENLP3_HOME.tar.md5), click START and wait until that box goes from yellow to green. Phone should reboot now. If it gets stuck, get into the recovery mode (Vol UP + home + power) and wipe everything.

I'm trying to root a GT-P5110 with Android version 4.2.2 following the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980683
Odin seems to be running ok, but Odin doesn't seem to be able to detect my device.
When I boot into recovery mode, I have a menu on the screen with the items "reboot system now", "apply update from adb", "apply update from external storage", "wipe data/factory reset", "wipe cache partition", and apply update from cache". Do I need to select one of them? I took a gamble on "apply update from adb", but Odin still doesn't see the device.
Can anybody give me any hints on what to try next?
Thanks,

The drivers seem to be up-to-date (I installed them from the Samsung website yesterday. I'm using Windows 8 (not 8.1, which won't play nicely with my laptop) so maybe that's the problem. Time to dig out an older computer, perhaps.

I am pressing power + volume down. I agree that the menu doesn't look like the one described.
(Incidentally, why do we need a captcha to post when we're logged in? I had to run through about 30 before I could find one I could even attempt, and the audio ones are even harder to decipher!)
You are doing it wrong.
Power on and push the volumebuton ( on the same time ) to the right.( UP )..and keep it that way til it boots up.
Than you get this screen
Then push the volumebuton to the left ( DOWN ), and then you are good to go

Hi Guys,
trying to stick CWM on my gt 95110. got it into download mode but windows is no recognising the device? Have installed and reinstalled the drivers many time but nothing works. I've used different cables, run odin as admin.
Running on Windows 7
Please help!
If you have Kies installed try removing Kies from pc, restart pc, reload Samsung drivers then with Odin started hook up tab to pc.
If not recognized still, while tab is still plugged to pc reboot tab, it should do it.
Pp.
Already tried that and have just tried again. No luck
More info, what rom, what recovery what Odin. Is tab working properly.
Did you try a factory reset?
Pp.
It's the most recent version of odin I could find. I'll check the version number late when I get home later. With recovery do you mean cwm or the stock recovery on the tab?
I have restored tab to factory settings and tried what you suggested again this morning. Windows keeps on saying unrecognised device your device may have a fault. Can't see why this is the first time I've ever connected it to a pc since I got it. Tried every combination of kies and drivers installed and un-installed. Been through all the windows help suggestions. Have contacted samsung support but they take a lot longer to respond than the good people on xda.

Many times this is a bad cable or USB port on the computer. You might try changing those just to make sure. Then if that doesn't help you might even have to change computers.
Try a different cable, try a different pc.
Have seen cable that works with charger but not with pc.
Pp.
Thanks, have tried 2 cables. One was the original cable that's been in the box since I first got it. Have tried all usb slots and will try my girlfriends laptop tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
I've also got a support ticket open with Samsung and they have offered a remote support session to try to resolve. Anyone had any experience with them? Hopefully one of these would resolve this.
Hey guys how are you?
Well a friend gave me an OPO that is really bricked.
Seems like it went to 0% of battery. I charged it to 100% but it does not boot. It stays in loop with the "cyanogen" logo
I tried every solution in every "hard brick resolution" thread.
Instaled ColorOS drivers, Samsung drivers, etc etc etc. nothing works, why? Well..
When i plug the phone on my computer, its recognized has MTP device. The "update driver" option is disabled. Its never recognized as qhsusb_bulk our adb or anything.
It does not seems to enter in fastboot mode ether, has i press vol up + power and it goes to the cyanogen logo again.
Im trying to do this recovery with an windows 10 64bit computer.
I tried to install qualcomm drivers also, but not compatible with my OS.
Not really sure what to do next..
I had the same issue. Tried VOLUME+DOWN multiple times until it worked and showed up as "QHSUSB_BULK" and then used the OnePlusRestoreTool to unbrick the phone.
Manually selected these drivers for Windows 10 64bit through the Device Manager here:
Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 2.1.0.5

yeah i searched and downloaded the x64 version of qualcomm
But i tried 20 something times to power on the mobile phone with vol up and no luck. still appears in the device manager as MTP device
Steps im taking:
1- Connect the phone with USB cable. Its starts charging.
2-let the screen go off then power + vol up. I let go power button has soon as the phone vibrates.
3-goes to cyanogen log and appears on the device manager as mtp usb device
tried that for 20 times

Try it on a native USB port, so try different ports. Or if you have access to more than one pc/laptop try it on different ones.
I had the same issue a couple of months ago on my wife's oneplus. Spent an hour on my laptop and no go. Fired up the desktop and worked first time.

Hey Jeffrey! Has you asked, here is the pm.
So, in advance, thanks for your help. font know if this can be solved but its nice having someone interested in helping.
So, what i have:
- An OPO that doesn't boot.
- When i press the power button, it shows the one plus logo, and then the cyanogen logo, staying there forever..
- When i press vol up + power, it does the exactly same thing, never entering fastboot
- When i press vol down + power, it does the same thing. never entering recovery
I've prepared an old notebook with windows xp to unbrick the opo. Its completly clean.
The phone is always recognized has mtp device. I've installed all drivers on the internet. ColorOS, samsung, qualcomm, etc etc, everything. nothing works has its never detected in msm8974 or anything.
what can i do?
Thanks in advance
This might help!
If nothing works email oneplus and request for a remote session i did that and they flashed the os, and ps. while doing that they will tell you to download some files and in that some will be password protected and after completing the process they will delete the file so that we cant use it. If possible, after installing drivers they will tell u to reboot the system and log in back but after rebooting just copy the file to another place and then log in back so they can continue the process. Those files may be helpful for a lot of people.I have attached screen shots. Never mind the first folder, the remaining zip files are to be downloaded and in that two are password protected.
Hello xda members
I have an GT-I9300 device which stucks on TWRP Recovery (teamwin logo excatly) and flashes about after 4 or 5 seconds.
No twrp options , my pc doesnt react when i plug in my phone , only download mode available and an SD Card.
Can i unbrick my phone or not ?
Hello,
Yes, you can flash your stock firmware through Odin 3.10 and fix your device. Look in the thread linked below for instructions, if the download link for your stock firmware is dead then try going to Sammobile.com and search for your stock firmware using your model number GT-I9300, download it and then follow the instructions below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/restore-to-stock-rom-galaxy-s3-i9300-t2187081
Good luck.
styno said:
Hi,
you can recover the GT-I9300 completely with Samsung's own Kies. It will ask for the serial number of the phone and will download all files needed and flash it for you.
You'll end up with a complete stock phone (but with latest modem )
Good luck!

Are you putting the device into download mode?
Power the device off (pull the battery, then put the battery back in), then hold VOL DOWN + HOME KEY + POWER KEY
Once in download mode plug into your PC. Also make sure that you have the Samsung drivers installed. Check your device manager on your PC to make sure Windows is seeing the device.

Try different USB ports, make sure you have the stock cable.
Hi guys,
Please help me my note 4 n910c just got updated to Marshmellow 6.0
and after the update the fast charging is not working
I have tried everything I also have an s7 and that shows fast charging but my phone doesnt show fast charging
its taking 6 7 hours and its still 60 percent
i also did a factory reset no solution
then i thought of downgrading TO LOLLIPOP 5.1.1 would solve the solution
So i tried to connect my note 4 to pc it wont connect to pc
it says not recognised
but my other phones do get connected
all my drivers are updated and tried everything but nothing is happening
so i thought maybe it would connect to odin in download mode but it wont show up
Now help me please of what to do
if i normally use the 6.0 it wont fast charge and if i want to downgrade it wont connect to odin
HELP MEEEE IM HELPLESS
PLEASE TELL ME if i can flash the old lollipop 5.1 some other way than connecting to odin
or is there any other way to downgrade?
Please someone who knows comment and let me know ASAP

Have you tried uninstalling all the USB drivers for your device, restarting PC, re-installing drivers then restart PC and then try connecting your device.
When you updated, did you boot to stock recovery and factory reset and wipe cache partition then reboot? Sometimes failing to wipe during update can cause things to not work correctly.

Yes I tried everything uninstalling and reinstalling all the drivers and dozens of restarts nothing helps.
Nope when it got updated I didnt factory reset or wipe cache partition cuz i didnt want to loose my data.
It was an official update.
Now I just did the factory reset and cache partition wipe nothing helps
My pc still wont recognise my note 4.

And when you right click on the driver with the yellow triangle and select update driver, it does nothing?
Have you tried manually updating the driver and choosing the option to select from files on your PC instead of the auto-update feature? You can use this method to navigate to the folder that the Samsung drivers are installed in and select them from there, this should load the drivers.

When i try to update it says it is up to date and the manually installing of drivers.
Done with that too
The problem is just with the note 4
I have an s7 edge too and a note 3
They connect without any hassle to my pc

Have you connected to Odin While in download mode and it isn't recognized? Or have you only connected to PC while the phone is running in system and the PC doesn't recognize it?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledg...ice-descriptor-request-failed-for-windows-10/
Follow the steps but don't install the crappy driver easy program.
Here's a video
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hKwRUdfRN2s
There are actually a lot of tricks that can be used to solve the "device descriptor failed/not recognized" error.
A Google search for:
"USB device descriptor failed"
Will give you plenty of tips.

You changed the USB settings as suggested and nothing changes?
You disabled anti-virus before installing the drivers?
You disabled fast startup? (If your PC has this feature)
How USB works on your note 4 versus how it works on your other devices may have slight differences, that would explain why your others connect and the note 4 doesn't.
Have you enabled USB debugging developer options?
99% of the time this is a PC hardware/driver issue, not an issue with the android device in question.
