Help z5 rooting - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there
I wanna root my sony Xperia z5 e6633
I understood that downgrade and iovyrootfor backing up Ta, but im stuck here
In this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/general/guide-how-to-backup-drm-unlock-rootfor-t3373312 I'm stuck at step 13 as kernel.andro.plus doesn't have e6633 kernel only e6653, if im doin right there is no way i can flash this on my device, then I found that I can patch the kernel already in my device, using my drm information so I dont lose any functionality, like x reality and bionz, all pointed me to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...oot-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605 , but this thread is so long, confusing and have some codes that I don't know where to use it, nothing mentioned there, I can tell that this threat is made for a programmer not a normal human like me
Conclusion
I want an easier explanation to steps after backing up ta for rooting and keeping drm functions on, at least for camera denoise
Thanks

[Q] Rooting Xperia S LT26i

Hello Folks,
I'm kinda new to the whole device developing stuff. Though I hail from a Electronics bachelors I wish to experiment with my mobile. It would be great if any one can guide me through the basics of rooting a device and in my case help me root my device: Sony Xperia S. My phone is totally sluggish in it's performance and I do not have an idea of shelling out cash for another mobile, So, came up with the idea of rooting it.
A step-by-step guide would be helpful for rookies like me.
Thanks in advance for any tips, tutorials or guidance offered.
Hi,
The rooting method depends on which firmware version you are currently on. You can find out how to root on the Xperia S section in the XDA Forums (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-s/s-development). One of the methods is here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327473.
Once you are rooted it does not change the performance though. You will have to take steps using apps made for rooted phones like removing bloatware, tweaking your CPU, or if you're up to it then installing a faster custom rom.
I suggest to read up on and try installing a custom rom. I have an Xperia SL and I'm using this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2393889) which is actually made for the Xperia S and I think it is really good, gives my phone better performance, has good features and is nice looking.

[Q] any upgrade for m2 aqua?

Hi all!
I have to ask this, I have searched for days and days over, buThe all in vain
I want to upgrade to lollipop, but it seems as if I can not do that. So to either douse the my passionate flames, or to spice them up a little, I would like to ask you all;
Is there, or will there be any upgrades for Xperia M2 Aqua? They can be something like AOSP.
Also, I would like to ask one more thing;
Would it be possible for someone, if they have a working build on his/her phone, to possibly upload it or share it? It would make my day!
Thank you for reading this and consider this as real questions and request
Sincerely
Anders
I asking this because I have tried the "Eagle" build on my D2403, but it ain't working, it won't start, only vibrates and then turns off right away.
So I decided to read about codenames, and it seems like m2 Aqua (D2403) got the codename "Seahawk". I would like anyone of you to confirm if this is true or not?
And now I will go back to follow this thread as I really do want to try Lollipop
Sent from my D2403 using XDA Free mobile app
Kind of "fun" how this thread have over 100 views, yet no answer what so ever.
Some research, and in my build.prop it mention both eagle and Seahawk for this phone.
So which one is it, or is it a bit of both?
And there will be no official upgrade to m2 aqua (D2403).
But I have yet no answer to as to why the Eagle build for Lollipop is not working on my phone.
And this have raised another question;
Can a kernel to 4.4.4 work with 5.0 or does it have to be tailored for 5.0?
Edit:
I should mention that I have had a bad day and lost my temper a bit, and if anyone take the first part in a bad way, I am sorry!
I should also mention that I have tried AOSP android Eagle build, and Unofficial CM12.1 build from the same site. Fxpblog or something like that.

Even if this thread has 100 views, what does it mean? It could mean a lot of this but the most accurate ones would be that either :
This forum is for eagle and these 100 views are the users of the eagle and not seahawk so they are allowed to not know the answer for your questions. Second thing, even if theres some views of people that have seahawk, they may not know the answers for your questions (maybe they are not rooted, or they never tried a custom ROM, that's just two causes). Also questions like this repeats over and over again so either the users or the devs don't want to repeat themselves. Even if a Dev would reply here, he'd probably tell you to search the forum first.
And now, I can't answer your questions myself because I own the eagle not seahawk, but from experience I can tell that it's not a good idea to flash a ROM for specific phone onto another phone (even if m2 and m2 aqua are theoretically the same) because it may end up with a bootloop etc. Now if it is possible to cross flash the ROM, than I would say that you missed some point of the procedure you should have taken to flash lp on the aqua, the most frequent cause of the bootloops are improperly flashed ROMs. Now, by this I mean you could have forgotten to wipe the phone, or wipe cache memory. Don't hate me for what I said, because I'm really not sure how to answer your questions. Peace

Where do I unlock the BL? And question about emma or flashtool

New to this, I got my XPERIA XZ about a week ago. Have had some quirky software issues and think it might be related to some bad apps that are on it stock. How can I unlock the BL so I can use something like SONY's emma or flashtool?
Also, if emma and flashtool aren't the same, what is the difference? They both appear to be from SONY.
And they give you the ROM choice right, including near stock ones with or without AVG, right? Or am I dreaming. I have Nougat, and would like to go to a near stock Nougat build without AVG, but stay with the Sony menu interlays, etc. I suppose that's the Sony kernel.
If that makes sense. Thanks for the help, sorry for the newb questions.
Just search a little. I wrote a guide right here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/how-to-unlock-bl-kernel-twrp-root-t3541648
Thread cleaned.

Thank you for your reply... your guide is exceptionally well written and easy to follow. I have already returned my XPERIA XZ to the seller, so I won't be needing it, but will definitely bookmark it for future use in the event someone I know needs to unlock their bootloader and/or install a different ROM.

Sony Xperia E5 (F3311)

Hello, I want to put Custom ROM in Xperia E5, F3311 model, but I can not find ROM & TWRP for this model. The bootloader if I have unlock option, but if there is no recovery, do not unlock device. Anyone know any options for this? Thank you very much.
There is no custom Recovery nor custom Rom for this device. There even is no method to Root it.
Thank you very much for your reply. There is nobody who can do something like this ?.
@Juako
Probably nobody with knowledge and this device.
From one hand it shouldn't be hard to port Recovery, as there are scripts to port Kernels/Roms/Recoveries for MTK devices (not sure if for every SoC), as well universal ones, however Sony is not like all Chinese companies which use universal devices (same inside, different outside), so there can be so many changes that it won't work and than knowledge/experience is mandatory.
What inconvenience, I buy it for my wife, but I spend enough battery. That's why I wanted to do recovery & root, at least, so I can uninstall or freeze Sony applications. Better a proper Rom, of course. But it is inconvenient to know that this is so. Thank you very much and good weekend.
Bootloader Unlocked and Rooted
This can be done as i have done it
Try these hope it helps

Actually, rooting is pretty easy.
What you need to do is port a TWRP recovery from a similar chipset, then you would have to figure out the FSTAB files because you would get mounting errors.
or
Build TWRP from device tree with E5's stock kernel
I have same F3311 and thanks to this one:

There is custom rom and twrp for Xperia E5.
Hello,
I've been there several times, but I've just registered. Sorry, my english is not so good ...
I got an xperia E5 F3311 and search for a custom Rome. Unfortunately, I find here some Rom,s only for E (series?) And here I read then there is none for the E5? Is this correct, or do the custom Roms for the E (serie) also work with the E5? I am a bit confused...
I'm looking forward to an answer,
paulhu
@paulhu
There is no customs for E5. And the ones for other devices, like other Es, not only won't work, but will brick Your device.
Hy,
thank you for the very fast answer!
This is very unfortunate. So also the post (here) from " TAIMOON" is wrong,...?
So but it is possible to root and install custom recovery safely? Or is this also a "fake message"? Im a little afraid because of your warning.
Not sure what he meant by custom rom, but think it was not a rom, but kernel, coz that thread has modded kernel and TWRP used for Root. And that is true, there is no custom rom for E5, but at least it can be rooted.
Ok, thank you!
So i think i will follow the tutorials of those links and root the device. Maybe after i find a way to waste the sony apps....
Root availeble
Just search Sony Xperia E5 (or f3311) bootloader and you'll see a Sony developer site! There is a list of all phone models and guides!
