I want to install TWRP for Nexus 5x. I'm following the tutorial I found here. I got stuck on the part where you flash TWRP the error on the console says 'FAILED. Device is locked.' can someone tell me how to change device state into unlocked.
P.S. I'm very new to this stuff I barely know anything.

Hey guys well me being dumb I tried to install magisk and bricked my phone I need some help kinda desperate tbh this is my backup phone because my main phone (htc 10) got destroyed and I am leaving on a trip on monday anyways I have twrp installed v2.8.6.0 the phone boots up to the htc one logo part and just stays there I tried doing adb sideload but says error executing updater binary in zip what I am trying to do is flash a custom rom thats what I see in the videos and what I think might fix it I looked around the forums before posting this I did see someone else talk about this phone bricked I still dont understand so maybe you guys can help me fix this thanks! and if you where wondering I can get into twrp

Hey man thanks for replying but I fixed it I guess the ROM I was trying was not good so I used viperonem8 now and it works good!

I wanted to buy a One Plus 6, to install a custom Roma, but I had several questions:
If for example I have an old phone, and I install a custom rom recent, it will upgrade the kernel?
Do you install non-official custom ROMs?
Do you install Gapps? (If I just want to play store I can get the apk play store, or there are frameworks?)

I am trying to follow instructions I found on a German website for flashing my GT i 9001. In these instructions, reference was made to this forum, telling me to download the kernel for GT i 9001 build GINGERBREAD.XXKQM but I am utterly lost. Hello, thank you for your help, but I've come to the conclusion that I had better give up. The link to the kernel given in the second link below does not work (hotfile --> mpaa.org), and I am also unable to find some files referenced in the instructions I mentioned in my first post, which are from 2012 or so. So I am afraid that I might trash my smartphone rather than flash it. Best wishes, Arnim

I am looking to install Lineage OS on a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. I see links on the XDA developers thread but none of them are the current version. The official TWRP website does not appear to have an image for the Z5 compact. I want to make sure I am installing the correct and most current version. Can someone help?

Tried posting in there but because I'm a new member I am not allowed to post in the developer forum. Ho do we verify the integrity of these images uploaded here?
I have installed TWRP on my SM-A520F (a5ultexx) recently (TWRP version is 3.2.3-1) and I have found that I cannot see any of the files on the internal storage. It goes as far as the root folder, but beyond that, nothing. It does not even register that there is any capacity on there (I have 8GB of 32GB free). The photos below show more detail.

Anyone else had this issue? Any fix? My version of TWRP is from twrp.me (the official site).
NB: I am using TWRP to install MagiskSU.
