Old Y01 Custom Rom issue - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I saved the first version of my tablet from the kill switch by installing a custom rom. And I never used it anymore since this moment.
A few days ago, I think about a new project that I will prefer to try on an other tablet than my main.
Once on the log screen, I discover that I need a password but I don't remind using one.
I try to go to recovery and wipe all, but the OS disappear, so I try to install another one.
I had some difficulties to install successfully the last version of TWRP, but now it's Ok.
I also install the last bootloader and finally succeed to load new rom like Lienage 14.1 for example.
But I can use it as "google services framework has stopped working" if I install Gapp (and Nvidia services if not)
I can not do anything as I have to first configure the rom (wifi, etc.) and can not access to settings..
Any idea on how to solve that ??

A quick update of my problem : I'm still unable to get a functional rom installation.
So I tried to install an optimized version of a stock rom (this one : Optimized stock rom
But, in this case, I'm unable to install it. I get the following error :
mount : failed to mount /AAPstdin: can't skip at /system: Block device required
Someone knows what is the problem and how to solve it ?
Thanks in advance...

Zopo ZP100 (MediaTek MT6575) - ICS upgrade guide

Since there isn't much information (in English) about how to upgrade the Zopo ZP100 phone to ICS I've now done it myself (after reading a lot of Russian forums using Google Translate I finally took the plunge into the deep end of the pool and just did it).
Files needed
ICS ROM (b79):
http://narod.ru/disk/48456521001.ee...T75_h932_b79_pulid_sw 20120428-14151.rar.html
Root:
http://files.dangerd.org/pub/ZP100//zopo zp100 4.0ROOT by008.rar
Flashtool:
http://narod.ru/disk/44888871001.ee...6c3e795/SP_Flash_Tool_exe_v3.1206.01.zip.html
USB Drivers (and a flashtool I didn't use):
http://chinamobiles.org/downloads/zap/ZP100fix.zip
CWM Recovery:
http://files.dangerd.org/pub/ZP100//recovery.img
First of all: Make a note of your IMEI-number(s)
Download the files and unpack all (in seperate folders).
Shutdown the phone and plug it in via USB, Windows will search for a driver which you find in the package ZP100fix.zip (different inf-files depending on windows version).
Unplug phone, remove the battery.
Replace the recovery.img from the ICS ROM with the one downloaded seperately.
Start flashutil.
Load Scatter-file: MT6575_Android_scatter_emmc2.txt
Make sure that Options -> USB Mode is selected.
Click Download
Connect phone (still with no battery, at least I had to leave it out).
Flashing begins.
When all is done it displays an "OK window".
Now reboot the phone and when booted connect to USB again and run Root.bat from the package: zopo zp100 4.0root by008"
Follow on-screen instructions.
I did not need to install any separate Google Apps, it was included in the ROM.
Now you need to add some IMEI-numbers to your phone.
In the original ROM I could only ever see one IMEI for my zp100, so I wrote that down.
IMEI2 I took from an old Nokia I hadn't used for a few years.
Use terminal app or adb shell or whatever to execute the following (replace IMEI_1 and IMEI_2 with your IMEI's):
echo 'AT + EGMR = 1,7, "IMEI_1"'> /dev/pttycmd1
echo 'AT + EGMR = 1,10, "IMEI_2"'> /dev/pttycmd1
Update: Zopo IMEI Tool in English can be downloaded from here: http://depositfiles.com/files/wi41lcuvb (should eliminate the need for the terminal-hack above). If the system language on your phone isn't set to English the utility will be displayed in Chinese by default, so setup your phone to use English before running it.
If you want your external sdcard mounted as /sdcard (/mnt/sdcard) instead of /mnt/sdcard2 you have to replace the /etc/vold.fstab with the following:
http://www.cactuz.net/files/zp100/vold.fstab
Use root-explorer (make a backup of the old one) to replace it, then shutdown your phone and remove the battery, then plug it all back in and start again and your external sdcard shoudl be mounted on /sdcard (/mnt/sdcard) instead.
Hope this helps.
I'll report back here with any bugs etc.
To use RecoveryMod I have to chose it from the menu in MobileUncle Tools or ClockWorkMod Rom Manager, I have not been able to boot to CWM using VolUp+Power.
Some of my favorite apps can't be downloaded from Google Play Market:
Vignette
Endomondo Pro
Snowstorm Weather Widget
GPS Status
I have been able to restore them all using MyBackup Pro and they are running fine, they just aren't compatible according to Play Market.
So any app you really need is good to make a backup of using MyBackup (or Titanium or any other backup app of your choice) so you can restore it if it can't be installed using market after the ICS upgrade.
Note that all these apps can be installed fine on my other devices using ICS (HTC Desire with CM9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 with CM9 or AOKP) so it's this ROM that is the issue AFAIK.
Thank you ... I'll follow up in a couple weeks
Ordered my zopo yesterday (for the second time -- waited 2 weeks from the first store (merimobiles) and then cancelled when they still hadn't shipped it. Hopefully I'll have better luck this time.)
I appreciate you posting this info and will try it out when I get the phone.
Good luck Dave,
I ordered mine from etotalk.com, got it in about a week with DHL used for shipping.
I've updated the first post with some more info in regards to RecoveryMod and mounting external SDcard as /mnt/sdcard (/sdcard).
Since I use this phone daily I will probably not experiment much with it until any new official release is available. But the current one (b79) is good enough.
There are quite a lot of crappy chinese apps (crappy since I don't know what they do and they aren't translated into a language I can understand) installed with this ROM bit they can all be removed using the normal App-menu in the system settings.
imei no.
hello, u said that u have write the imei no. of old nokia phone which u don't use. i want to know that can i also change both the imei no. as i m from india and in india only valid imei no. works, and i m planning to purchase this phone but i am afraid that if the imei no. are not according to india then it will not work so i just wanted to know that if i write my old dual sim phone imei to zopo zp100, will it work without any problem.
rohit: I can't say for sure if the phone actually reports two IMEI's to the service provider, but at least it displays two IMEI's when I check "About phone" in the sytem settings.
Sorry I can't say if it works or not in India.

ZP100 and ICS upgrade experiences
Hi Guys,
I bought the ZP100 1,5 weeks ago from etotalk.com.
After 1 week i tried to upgrade to ICS about this and Colonel ZAP's description.
My experiences with the ICS upgrade:
When i received the phone, on that was etotalk v1.0 firmware.
It is a very good customized rooted ROM, works fast and it has just some minor bugs.
The only problem was, it could only read the internal storage, when i insert an external SD card. It was strange, but i accept it programming defects.
I downloaded the official 2.3.6 and this B79 ICS, VCOM (Flash) drivers and the flash program.
At first, i downloaded the ClockWorkMod Recovery for chinese phones.
Unfortunately it is make a factory reset on the phone, but after you customize it, you can make full backup about your ROM.
IMPORTANT! Copy the backup to your computer, because the ICS ROM formatted my external SD
This is very recommended, because...
At first i installed the linked B79 ICS ROM.
The default language is chinese, but it contains english, so if you know the android, it is not a challenge to change it. It couldn't read the internal memory neither, just after format it.
It wasn't rooted, and deleted IMEI. When i tried to root (different way as 2.3.6, need USB debug mode and ADB) the Windows doesn't recognize the ADB driver. The driver wasn't in Android SDK, and i can't download it (i haven't tried it on Linux yet). For a moment Windows showed it found HTC Dream device. I downloaded HTC drivers, but it didn't work with it neither.
Without this you can't restore the IMEI.
Ok, go back to the official 2.3.6.
I flashed it back. Almost the same effects. Default chinese language, the internal memory cannot readable. I could root it and install CWM recovery back.
Basically it doesn't contains Play store, but you can install it.
The ROM full of chinese programmes and my experience was it is very unstable.
I uninstalled the chinese programmes, and installed Play store. When i wanted make a call, the phone restarts. The Google Play Store froze every time.
Finally i restore back the etotalk ROM, and i use it.
Maybe if i have time/mood i will install the official ICS, but about my experiences i have doubts with it.
p.s.: in about 30C outside temperature i used the phone (installing programmes). After 10 minutes using it sings that the battery is too hot, remove it from the phone.
Is any other better quality battery what is compatible with this phone? thanks
---------- Post added at 10:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:19 AM ----------
Hi jbctiong,
I used CWM recovery 5.5.0.4.
Just carefully, because it make a full factory reset.
And you need to insert an external SD card

Thanks for your experiences
What is the ClockWorkMod Recovery for chinese phones.
WHy you needed it ?
Now we can download the 4.0 official
Somebody try it ?
hello carabaothai,
I used it for backup/restore my ROM.
But you can use nandroid backup too.
Sorry for my abscence from this thread, I've been busy all weekend actually tuning a car instead of my phone
buntybauva: I've got no problems with USB Mass Storage, could you explain what problems you experience?
I made a nandroid backup of the old ROM, but I haven't used it so don't actually know if it works.
rohit: I ordered mine from etotalk.com
carabaothai:I forgot to mention that the ICS-rom I linked to (and flashed myself) is in Chinese as default, but can be changed to English using the System Settings, luckily there are icons in there so you can find the symbol for language (hint for anyone who doesn't know: It's an "A").
ICS = Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0)
I have not experienced problems with loosing network on the SIM cards.
jbctiong: I had not tried any nandroid backup/recovery yet, tested right now and it doesn't seem to be able to actually do any backup. Some mount errors for sdcard.
vzzoli: Thank you for sharing your experiences.
I agree that the etotalk-ROM is quite good, but I always want the latest stuff on my gadgets
I have not had any issues with reading my sdcard nor in etotalk-rom or in the later ICS-rom.
The ICS rom did not format my external SD. But one should always make a backup of course (I backup my SDcard before every flash I try).
One bug I found in the current ROM is that the Cam/Videocam-switch on the phone doesn't make any difference what position it's in.
I'm going to see what the russian forum says about the official release, I'm quite happy with the one I'm currently running so no real need to change, but there could be performance reasons to change or maybe something else.
I downloaded to the "official" ROM and updated my phone
I think this is the same ROM as B79, just renamed the version.
Remove the IMEI, not rooted, other MTP driver needed etc.
@cactuz:
What operating system did you use for root the phone?
I'm using Windows, and the new official ICS ROM wants different ADB drivers than the 2.3.6.
Without this, i can't root it, and restore IMEI.
Buntybauva's mass storage problem maybe that the Windows recognize the ICS phone as media device, but can't mount as usb mass storage without a third party program
vzzoli: I used Win7 32bit when I rooted the phone, used the scripts supplied in one of the links in my initial post.
When I restored the IMEI I used Linux since that is my prefered choice whenever using ADB.
I can't check right now what version because I've apparently forgot my VPN-password so I can't connect to my computer at work
Does the camera-switch work for changing between Camera and VideoCam on the new official rom?
hyy
after ics upgrade is anyone facing problem with gps lock?
buntybauva: Not worse than before, the GPS was terrible for me before as well as after (but I do get a fix after quite some time). Though some of the guys on the russian forum has modified the antenna as far as I know.
Maybe DangerD could help us out because I think he has been involved in it.

[Q] To root or not to root for update

Hi
I have a Samsung Galaxy GT-I5801 with me for past couple of years.
Its current OS spec are:
Firmware version- 2.2
Baseband version- I5801DDJP2
Kernel version- 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #2
Build Number- FROYO.DDJP6
My phone has become kind of slow, like for even basic tasks like opening call log or messaging app, it takes good 10-15 seconds. Sometimes it even goes unresponsive when trying to end a call thus causing call to continue thus carrier balance reduction. There are no 3rd party apps installed on it. Even updating the pre-installed apps gives the message of memory being low.
Now my query is:
Will flashing it to a custom ROM will improve its working at least in the basic areas of call and texting?
If so, then which is the most suitable custom ROM?
Is it necessary to root the phone before flashing it ?
Which tool is best/easiest for said purposes?
Please go easy on me, I've been out of the IT and tech game since past 1 year and bit rusty on these things

I would say yes. I don't know what is causing the freezes, but (beside that this could also be a hardware problem) a custom ROM should fix that.
Any GB-based ROM should do a fine job. There are also Froyo-based ROMs for our device. The CM7.2 build by marcellusbe does a very good job.
Nope. If you flash via Odin (Flash-Software for Windows) you just need a usb-connection. If you flash it via recovery, you may need to flash a custom recovery first.

I tried SuperOneClick but it failed to even detect my phone, let alone root. Tried rooting directly through phone by installing z4root on it. It too failed to root my device, just a blue screen saying "Running Exploit" with z4mod logo kept on displaying for 10-15 minutes, after which phone switched off itself. Had to power it back on myself. Tried it couple of times more but no success.
So now if I use Odin to directly flash the firmware to a modded one, would it work, considering the fact that the phone hasn't been rooted. More importantly, would it be wise to do so? Don't want to hard brick the device as its my backup device after my Xperia SP took a plunge in the water and now fails to even boot, just vibrates thrice and that's it.
Update:
Took a leap of faith with Odin and Cyanogen & now the device is rockin' like a grandma with a new hip replacement Lags no more, operation is smooth, but a 2nd minor problem has cropped up.
It now refuses to install any app from Play Store citing Insufficient Space. I changed the default installation space to external but still the problem persists.
Update 2:
For my above mentioned problem, looks like something to do with Gapps but I don't know what it is and what to do about it. Moreover as today I tried to make calls or send messages, I found out I'm unable to do so. The dialler dials after good 2-3 minutes of pressing/selecting the dial option for a number while message inbox is empty but it refuses the receive any sms citing Inbox is full. I thought just flashing the firmware should do the trick but looks like it just was the tip of the iceberg.
You can find the gapps (Google Apps - like Play Store, Gmail, ...) here:
http://goo.im/gapps/
Assuming you're on Gingerbread (CM 7.x) it's this package: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Put this zip-file on your SD card, power off your phone and/or reboot to recovery. Navigate to "Select zip from sd card" -> select your gapps.zip and flash. Then "wipe cache" and "wipe dalvik cache" anywhere in the submenus Just to make sure the gapps get recognized correctly.
Another trick for expanding the internal storage is Link2SD. You need a 2-partition sd-card for this. 1. partition with FAT and 2. one with ext2/3/4
Link2SD will mount this second partition to the internal storage to expand your storage for apps and other system stuff.
You know... Getting the most of a half-dead low-end device needs a bit of geekiness
bad zip
Well I selected erase all data option in the phone which booted it into recovery mode. Here I cleared the cache and the user data. When I tried to install zip file from sd card it gave the following error message, "Can't open /sdcard/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip (bad) Installation Aborted"
What seems to be the problem now?
Update:
Tried again and this time it worked. Now everything is running fine. Thanks a ton for the help mate, can't express my gratitude through words.
I do want to ask one thing here.
If I install this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803180, will the JB experience be coupled with performance drop ?
Honestly Cyanogen has turned me into a junkie, now I want to try on the new but stable mods. Moreover as my Xperia SP is now out of warranty, I'm planning to get it fixed and then root and flash it too!

FORCE ENCRYPTION & DM-VERITY DISABLED
DISCLAIMER: Your warranty will be voided by installing this ROM, unlocking your bootloader, or flashing a custom recovery. You hereby assume sole responsibility for any positive or negative consequences incurred by flashing this ROM. As always, flashing your Android device or otherwise altering its file system & partitions involves an inherent risk. I am not responsible for any devices which are bricked or otherwise rendered inoperable as a result of flashing this ROM. However, in such scenarios,
I will provide all support feasibly possible. Follow the simple instructions carefully and you should experience no adverse affects.
Lenovo's open source code for this ROM encompasses both the 850F & 850M variants of this tablet. Therefore, this ROM should be completely compatible with the TB3-850M as well.
NOTES:
This Stock Android 6.0 ROM is virtually unmodified. However, it should be noted that dm-verity (device mapping) and force encryption have been disabled via patched boot image. This is the most current stock OS for the Lenovo Tab 3 8"; therefore, no OTAs will need to be installed subsequent to flashing this ROM. In order to ensure that force encryption gets disabled, it is imperative that the /userdata (Data) partition is formatted in TWRP prior to Installation. Please carefully follow the below instructions.
For those members who want a pure stock experience, but also want root access of the stock OS, I'm currently compiling a deodexed & zipaligned version of this ROM, fully rooted with Magisk 14.0 & BusyBox binaries pre-installed.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Android Version: 6.0 Marshmallow
Build No: TB3-850F_S100031_171010_ROW
Kernel Version: 3.18.19
SDK Version: 23
Software Version: TB3-850F_160412
Build ID: MRA58K
Android Security Patch Level: 9/05/2017
Runtime Version: ART 2.1.0

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Unlocked bootloader;
2. TWRP recovery;
This is a pure stock, unmodified, TWRP flashable Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM for the Lenovo Tab 3 8". This ROM was compiled from the most recent stock /boot and /system images. However, as noted previously, the boot image has been unpacked, patched, and repacked in order to disable dm-verity and force encryption. Because raw firmware images were used in compiling this ROM, the file size is in excess of 1GB (approximately 1.35GB).
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the ROM from the link provided and save it to your external micro SD card. Do not save to internal storage, as your /data partition will need to be formatted prior to installation;
2. Boot your tablet into TWRP recovery;
3. Wipe /system, /data, /cache & /Dalvik-ART cache. Also, select "Wipe", then "Format Data." This step is crucial to ensure disabling of force encryption. Please note that once installed, you may go to SETTINGS>>SECURITY and opt to encrypt the userdata on the tablet;
4. Select INSTALL, navigate to the location in which you saved the ROM zip file, and initiate installation. Flashing will complete in approximately 3 - 4 minutes;
5. Reboot system.
You should now have unmodified stock Android 6.0 installed on your Tab 3, as well as disabled dm-verity and disabled force encryption.

My custom ROM for this tablet should be coming out of the Android Kitchen later this evening. I've dubbed it Ethereal OS v1.1 [Android 6.0.1]. Extremely lightweight yet moderately feature packed.

Nice!
After flashing the stock zip TWRP says unknown error. It booted up fine to where you login to your gmail and "bluetooth sharing has stopped working" pops up. Bluetooth can not be turned on within settings. I can not double swipe down to get to the notifications and the "Home" and "Recents" buttons do not seem to work although they both vibrate when pressed.
I will flash stock with SPFT and try your stock rom again.

I got the same error with Bluetooth Share force closing two times at the setup screen. Probably a corruption issue during archiving the ROM. I'll do an md5 and archive the ROM again.
Seemed to work, however the loading images and screen is still lenovo. Also they lenovo apps are still there.

This is not a custom ROM. This is pure stock. The Lenovo boot logo, boot animation & apps are supposed to be there. Like the title implies this an "Unmodified" stock ROM.

My bad, understood.
On another note, I am finding it very buggy. The home and overview buttons do not work. They show you clicked it along with the haptic feedback, but nothing happens. The back button works and is the only way I know to get back to the home screen.
Also the tool panel you pull from the top stops working after a little while until I reboot. Then works for a little while.
The Play store downloads barely work. They show pending and nothing happens. I force quite, cleared the cache, disabled, reverted to the stock app and it works for a little bit. Then the other Play Store app comes back. Anyways, I am not complaining. I appreciate the work you put into this. It's awesome we get to do it at all. Just giving my feedback. P.S. It's a new TB3-850F.

Yes. Very buggy indeed. I have determined that the bugs are due to corruption during the unpacking of the system image. I'm repacking the ROM now to alleviate the bugs. Thanks for your input...
I've managed to fix the major bugs reported upon initial install of the ROM -- Recents & Home Buttons, Quick Pulldown Menu, Google Framework bugs, New App Shortcut bugs, etc. Simply corruption during packing (archiving) the ROM zip. I will try my best to get a new build posted sometime today.

Did you get around to uploading it? I am unable to use the OTA update file. Says its missing 'android-info.txt'
Also, anyone care to point me to a way to get back to stock/unrooted?? Nooooo, I didn't backup my ROM first. That would have made way to much sense.
I've been out of commission, unfortunately, due to impending health issues once again. I know that hospital food sucks, that the pretty nurses don't typically put out easy, and that the hospital WiFi restrictions can easily be bypassed with a proxy server address. Lol. And that's all I've learned in the past ten days. Anyway, hope to be back in my daily routine in the next day or so and finishing some stuff up for this device.
Hi, is this thread alive? I'm interested in solution because i have about 60 tablets and need a solution to clone form one source tablet (config, apps, wlan, users, etc.) to other 59. I have tried adb backup --twrp and it went ok, but when i tried restore it gave errors with system partition and now i can only recover tablet with factory ROM from this thread (but it is buggy and cannot put it int to production like this). Is it possible to create system rom from other working tablet? Iwill be very pleased If You can write step by step, how to create zipped rom from working device so i can then upload it to share with others.

The thread is alive and I'm currently ironing out the errors on the posted ROM. The errors are due to a couple of permissions which are omitted on my updater-script file. I'll be posting an updated and hopefully error free release this week. Thanks for your interest and sorry for the delay in development. I've had a number of health issues of late and I'm now recovering.
Problem after wiping /system
Hi,
I´m new right here. I bought a new TB3-850F and wanted to flash the Original Stock Rom. After opening the Bootloader and booting into twrp like this way https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-lenovo-tab3-8-tb3-850f-t3559786 I wiped the /data /System /dalvic and /Cache. After that I rebooted the system.
But it only shows after starting the Lenovo-Logo. No more booting. Because of this I can´t start the fastboot modus with Minimal ADB and Fastboot.
Is there some idea how I can boot into fastboot?
Many thanks for your help,

I´ve got a solution: After powering down, press power, wait 1 sec then hold both vol up & down also (all 3 Buttons) until vibrates. After starting in recovery Modus hold power button und press once the vol up.

Ok. I've debugged the Stock 6.0 ROM in the OP. Fixed the Bluetooth force close issue at startup and the bugs involving the hardware buttons and the pull down menu. I'm traveling for work at the moment. Soon as I'm back home Monday I'll post the fixed build in the OP.

Cheers buddy. Good stuff ??
@Hemphiz, I hope all is well my friend. Something I wanted to get your input on. It seems that a few members have been experiencing boot loops and other problems after following the TWRP & Root thread I revised. I'm sort of at a brick wall in terms of figuring out what's going on. I'm thinking that maybe there are regional variants that are incompatible with the TWRP we use. Or, it could be one of those situations where instructions are not being closely followed. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Wiko Fever 4G - Resurrection Remix 5.8.3 - Android 7.1.2_r8

This ROM has some FCs on third party apps (such as Facebook, some Bank apps, etc.), so I deleted all the ROM files because they are useless at this time. Due te fact I have no more time to spend on this project, a moderator can close this thread!
Thank you!
Very well done! I just have one question: what does the CellBroadcastReceiver package do, and why is it installed if we don't need it?

In many Countries they use it to broadcast anything useful/vital to people life. In Italy it's used by Vodafone to broadcast the Province/CellID in GSM, channel 50, and TIM for the "Arancione" plans (does it exist anymore?) to bill by Province/CellID (I don't remember the channel ID).
The -> real <- thing, in Italy, is the battery drain!
The modified Twrp does not work for me... the original twrp link is offline and the standard 2.8.7.0 is not working on fever, and the working version of twrp that i found online (that is 3.0.something) is not able to install this rom for the error "signal 11" Then i do not know how to install this rom... if someone has advice, or has installed it, let me know.

What problems do you have with the modified Twrp? By the way, the Twrp itself was not modified, only the kernel (stock V39 Fever LL) and I deleted the last page asking to install SuperSu everytime... not so useful, because I use to install it separately, or with the Rom with scripts!
The only issue I have with Twrp 2.8.7.0 (vs. 3.x) is that it's continuosly flickering in upper screen, but it's useable for the two/three items it has to do (format/wipe/install).
These problems doesn't appear on Twrp 3.x, but we can not use it, because it expects MarshMallow filesystem paths format and support,... vs we are using Lollipop format. You got signal #11 because the scripts cannot mount and find the /system filesystem were they expects to find in LL format while you are using Twrp 3.x in MM format!
If you'll try to start Twrp 3.x on kernel 3.10.x (LL), if it starts for whatever miracle, you'll get tons of signal #7 errors bacause the /rootfs of the Recovery image is based on MM files and libraries, while Twrp 2.8.7.0 is based on LL files and libraries and does not start on kernels 3.18.x (MM).
Lastly, have you clicked on the "d-h.st/82jl" link? I clicked on it, now, and I downloaded it with no problems... (the original 2.8.7.0 twrp!)...
@Melkor_98 @sun75 When I installed RR for the Canvas 5 on my Wiko Fever I first had to install the Canvas 5 TWRP recovery. This was because otherwise I got a signal 11 error as the updater-script was setup for the Canvas 5 (changing it cause some other errors...). With the Canvas 5 TWRP I had the strange black lines flickering at the top of the screen and some other minor bugs. But then, when I had to reinstall it because the IMEIs were not working, I first flashed the stock Canvas 5 LL firmware ROM and then the recovery. This time it worked perfectly as if I had a Canvas 5. So this could possibly be related as the issue appears to be similar.

Yes, it can be true, but the problem is Wiko and Canvas have different partition schemes: Wiko has one partition more (Apedata) and different partition sizes and entrypoints vs. Canvas. (refer scatter file...). If you change your phone to Canvas, make sure to FIRST, make a *complete* ROM backup of all 26 partitions to files with SP Flash Tool!
Then you can format all the flash eprom, and restore the Canvas Rom. So you will need the SN Write Tools to restore IMEI/WIFI/BAR Code/BT mac addr using the Canvas mddb database.
Then you have to restore all the Wiko hidden partitions except the system, boot and recovery, but from now on, you have to use the Canvas scatter file, because you changed the partition scheme!
Hidden partitions are important because they contain calibration data, security keys, crts, etc... For sure they are used on Stock Roms, ... I don't know if custom Roms use them...
So, be careful on mixing the correct scatter file being on Canvas or on Wiko type Rom...

I thank you for the answer, yes that link after some ads bring me to a page that do not load... about twrp i should try to bring back to LL the phone with the official tool of wiko and with that situation restart to unlock bootload /flash twrp 2.8.7/ install rom? For exemple i use the tool taken from andoidiani (i can not post link...) that should bring back everything to android 5.1 status? ps on the last version of MM for fever (the one that i have) if i flash a different version of twrp that is not the 3.0.something the recovery do not start, the phone remain on the "wiko" screen and stop here...

No, you shouldn't bring back to LL the phone nor unlock anything! I was on MM, and simply flashed with SP flash tool the boot.img & recovery.img. Once in recovery, I erased all except the microSD, and then, installed the Rom.zip. Done.
What problems do you have with recovery flashing it with SP flash tool? It does not start? Let me know!
For the original TWRP you can see here (Twrp Beta1 for LL): Link! I'm correcting the OP!

I was using adb Fastboot, to first unlock the bootloader (that with the wiko tool return locked if you recover the phone) after i use the fastboot command to flash the recovery img, with the classic "fastboot flash recovery" Should i use SP flash tool to flash the twrp 2.8.7? (the reason of why i was using adb fastboot is becouse fever has not the removable battery and sp flash tool have difficulty do detect him)

Yes, you'll bypass the OS, flashing directly the recovery.img to the flash! I never used adb fastboot, etc. commands on Wiko,... and I never unlocked the bootloader! Maybe with other phones it's mandatory, but with the Wiko Fever, you can flash directly on top with SP Flash Tool!

The first time you use the official Wiko Update (V34 MM or V39 LL, it doesn't matter) it installs the Wiko drivers (unsigned drivers, so if you use Win 8/8.1/10 you have to reboot in "allow unsigned drivers install mode" by using the Windows recovery menu' and by pressing F7 (If I remember)) and unpacks the original Rom, then it asks to install it: do not install it, you don't need it!
Once installed the drivers, use the SP Flash Tool (it uses the same drivers installed by the Wiko Update!) to update the required images of the Flash! The phone must be completely off, attach it to the pc after you have started the download process in SP Flash Tool and it will start by itself!

I've got huge battery drain especialy when the phone is used (I think it's correct on sleep mode) and I already set up kernel audiutor to 1040 max CPU speed...
Is it normal ?
Two others minor bugs :
Settings app crash at first boot, need to force stop it and re-launch the app to get it to work (I'm in France if it's matter).
Mobile data on LTE can't connect directly at phone boot, I have to switch to 3G then set it back to LTE and it's good.
Also, I deleted superSU from the rom to be able to install magisk 14.0 + xposed 87.3 + gravitybox 7.0.0 alpha1 and it works great but maybe it cause the battery drain ?

Huge battery drain? Are you using this rom or the 5.8.4_r29 for Canvas?
If you're on this Rom, why you have set kernel audiutor to 1040 max cpu speed? I can achieve a normal day full battery chargeless whith no particular settings!
The Settings app never crashed at first boot to me (anyone else?), but, instead, with SuperSu installed, it asked for Root permissions!
For mobile data: I think it depends on where you live! I adapted /system/etc/firmware and /system/etc/mddb for SE (Southern Europe, Italy, etc.) Region. If you live elsewhere, you have to simply replace or adapt the contents of these two folders with the data you can copy from your Stock Rom (same paths). One more config, there is a "ro.telephony.default_network=10" in build.prop in /system that works for sure in Italy..., maybe in other countries the LTE default network is not 10 but another value...

I have a Wiko Fever 4G and I use the rom you recommended : "RR-N-v5.8.3-20170527-l5460-Official" installed from stock Wiko Fever lollipop v22. (What's better ? Installing from lollipop or marshmallow, and which version ? I can't find lollipop v39 anymore)
I deleted superSU from the rom to be able to install magisk 14.0 + xposed 87.3 + gravitybox 7.0.0 alpha1 and it works great but maybe it cause the battery drain ?
Also why we need superSU ? Can't we use lineage/cm integrated root ?
Mobile data isn't a problem for me, I use a tasker task that send an intent to gravitybox at system start to switch to 3G then switch back to LTE. I'm in France and LTE default network is also 10 I think, it also work with 9 if I remember correctly.
Do you know if I can sent an intent to the system to do the same thing, I mean without needing of gravitybox ?
The Settings app doesn't crash at first boot but sometimes (often) at system start. Same thing, I use a shell command with tasker to open settings in background at system start then another command to force close it, and it works.
Another thing, why there is two camera app exactly ?

It's not a problem what version of LL or MM did you came from...: the problem, maybe is the Region you are for the Baseband. I "statically linked" the SE Baseband (in the Stock MM Rom it is chosen by reading the NVRAM for the suffix _XX and then it loads the right files from /etc/firmware and ../mddb directories). Now, with the custom ROM, all the scripts reading the NVRAM for the suffix are gone, so it loads everytime the _n modem and mddb databases, whatever they are! So I overvritten the generic _n modem and mddb databases with the _SE ones. For your region to work correctly, I suggest you to upgrade to MM Stock, go in Factory Mode Menu and select Version Info -> check your Region Zone! If it's SE, ok, otherwise you have to copy/paste the zone modem/mddb _XX files to _n overwriting it for each group!
I don't know magisk and the other software you mentioned... so I can not help you for the battery drain with them!
For SuperSu... I tried to use /xbin/su but it doesn't work for all apps... Something works, most not! So, because are years I used SuperSu for all, I installed it solving the rooting problems for all apps requesting it!
Idem with Settings: it's requesting SuperSu with Root Permissions from the first start... maybe not installing SuperSu breaked something. You can check it by logging the boot process "adb shell logcat > log.txt" and looking for the cause of the crash! I can not replicate the problem...
For LTE,... in Italy I'm attaching LTE with no problems with two distinct network operators... it switchs automatically from H+ to 4G and viceversa without any interaction from me! I suspect you are on the wrong Baseband Zone... By the way, I got the Baseband from the MM V.34 ROM (the latest!).
Two cameras? Yes... only because every app has some nice features the other app does not have! Feel free to delete the one you don't like/don't use!
Some Bugs...
Hi,
I found some bugs in this Rom and/or port on Wiko Fever. I'll describe them so you can confirm them!
- In these days I'm working in a DataCenter at floor -1. Well, there is no GSM/data available here. The problem is that when coming back on ground or upper floors, the phone correctly reattach itself to H+/LTE data connection, but it never establishes an ip connection to the Internet, with the "x" in the LTE signal fixed as no ip was negotiated. This is true until a reboot is done! Once a reboot is done, the problem is solved: data connection and ip connection to the Internet are established automatically! I think it's the MM baseband that is not fully compatible with this Nougat Rom based on LL...: I'll try to substitute the Baseband with the LL V39 one and test it!
- FM radio module: I fixed it. BUT... : it's complaining about a "Alsasound: no defined handler specified for .... " forever (draining battery) and info on radio stations and RDS is not working (but radio and audio is working ok!). I'll investigate more on this!
- AudioFX mixer: apparently working,... but ... it's making no difference on sound, no matter on settings you select on its panel! So it's useless! I'll investigate to correct it, to change it, or the like. There is something wrong on the mixer config.
- As someone suggested me, I found that flashing TWRP 2.8.x and the Rom from MM results in some screen glitches and flickering on kernel boot, on charge and on TWRP operation. These can be annoying! To solve them, flash the Fever LL V39 Stock Rom before flashing anything else. Then flash the TWRP 2.8.x, and then the Rom. Doing so, you will never experience screen glitches and flickering on boot and TWRP operation. I think the big difference from the two versions (LL and MM) is the bootloader.bin that is different from the two releases.
- I added some MTK Engineer Mode Modules... someone asked me to do so....: some modules are crashing, e.g. the audio interface test suite, maybe for the Alsasound interface.
- I updated the OpenGLES driver library with the Fever V39 one: more stability.
- I updated all the audio/mixer interface to make FM Radio module work. Maybe this breaks AudioFX, maybe not...
- I updated the installer scripts to look for /gapps/gapps.zip and for /supersu/supersu.zip, so you can download them separately (the version you want) and integrate them yourself. Zip the Rom, and flash!
- Settings -> Backup & Restore -> Factory Reset : is NOT working (if you press "restore", it does NOTHING!!). Ok ok...you can hard reset by TWRP... I Know!
I think it's all... for now!
I'll update the Rom .zip once I'll solve the major issues here explained.
I finally saw someone interested in making a rom for wiko fever and here i am. I would like to know if i can install this rom in the wiko fever 16gb/2g ram version. I noyticed by the stock systems version that this is for wiko fever with 3gb ram. Anyways thank you for your goooooooood work!!

Few days ago as expected, official users (who is using CN-EN official ROMs) of Le Pro 3 AI (further mentioned "x7") got an OTA update to the latest release of EUI 6.0.030S.
The miracle that expected was not appeared. It is still based on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow).
The ROM is still not localized for other countries, it contains only CN and EN languages.
And there still many bloatware of LeEco services that is very annoyance.
But first of all, the apps inside are now more optimized and as I see, they starting and function faster then previously.
Ok, let's go to the main part - links =)
The Official Site where you can download the ROM based on OTA update scheme is HERE. Also you can download a copy of OTA package from HERE.
But if you want to download faster, you can use my clouds where I'm continuously holding the most of Official ROMs for x7.
---> MEGA (follow into the folder called "original_stock")
---> FEX
Inside my clouds you can find that the ROM filenames contains not only a version but also an appropriate suffix (_OTA or _FASTBOOT). It's used to separate the ROMs by the installation method.
The FASTBOOT prepared ROMs contains an installation scripts (.BAT for Windows and .SH for Linux/Mac) for not only full installation (with clearing of User Storage), but also for update (without clearing of User Storage).
Please be careful, don't even try to install via FASTBOOT without clearing of User Storage, if you currently have functioning non Official multilingual EUI like 5.9.027S (faked as 028S in menu "About phone") or other non official!!! If you'll do this you will get many conflicts in settings and apps.
I expect that the FASTBOOT updating instructions are widely known, but remind them once more:
1) Enable the "Developer options" menu by clicking on "Build number" 7 times in the "About phone"
2) In the "Developer options" menu, turn on "OEM unlocking" and "USB debugging"
3) Connect the phone to the computer with a USB cable
4) Run one of the installation scripts from the folder of the unpacked firmware
5) Immediately upon startup, allow on the phone screen the "USB debugging" permission for your computer, preferably within the checkbox "always trust this device"
6) Wait until the installation process finishes (15-20 mins), calmly referring to the fact that the phone itself will reboot into FASTBOOT mode, and also please ignore the Sparse format error message (it's normal)
7) The phone itself will reboot into a new OS ... the first launch will be very long
Please feel free to ask anything here about the installation process, cloud links etc.
But be ready that I'm not fast answering.
Any other questions including the comparison of EUI versions performance and functionality will be ignored by me.
We still have the device that is highly secured with unknown protection mechanism and that gets us unable to build any quality custom ROM. =|
thank you
I should have researched before buying the device kk was already "lost" trying to find a customized rom for him. this part of the text: "We still have the device that is highly secured with unknown protection mechanism and that gets us unable to build any quality custom ROM. =| " , clarified me a lot

ROM does not have Google applications. You need install it. I think this still working in this version: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/leeco-le-pro3-a1-model-x651-guides-development--and-mods/automated-installer-gapps-morelocale2-t3752576
Ok installed the 30s mod version from https. ://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=895159&st= 2020#entry77308634
and it includes gapps.
You can install another launcher to get rid of ads.
There is no root for this rom, right?

030S mod is based on APKs of 030S with few modifications... but it also runs the old Boot from version 027S... so it may have some unexpected behavior...
yes, all of these ROMs have no root... but with mods based on Boot of 027S version you can use a temporary root (one time booting into TWRP) for further system modifications and then back to boot with native stock kernel and modified system will run good (expect the problems with apps you may cause by modifications)

What you can't see? The scripts?
You need to look at the contains of unpacked ROM zip that have suffix "FASTBOOT" in filename. There must be files with names like "x7_fastboot_tool.bat" and "x7_fastboot_tool_noUser.bat" and also same files with ".sh" extensions for Linux.
For installation to start you need to run one of this scripts. To run from CLI (CMD), not by double-clicking on it.
what's the score in antutu in new rom ? I have 50000....
dilnix,
I've downloaded the FULL_X7_X7-CN-FN-KGXCNFN6003009091S-6.0.030S.zip which don,t have the fastboot tools.
Do you have instructions to install this?
Big thank you!

This is an OTA package. But it's buggy, my try to make a direct update from 028S to this 030S with OTA way was failed, and I heart many reviews about same behavior.
So I think the best way to update is to use Fastboot with scripts and executable provided in my package that contains "_FASTBOOT" suffix in filename.
From there you can use script "x7_fastboot_tool_noUser.bat" (or .sh option in Linux) to make update to 030S (only from clean stock 025S, 026S or 028S, not from fake 027S or any mod) without clearing of Userdata Storage.
Or you can use script "x7_fastboot_tool.bat" (or .sh option in Linux) to make a new installation of 030S with clearing of Userdata Storage (from any other previous ROM).
If you can't download by my links provided in topic, please write here and I'll try to solve this.

My x650 shows 87000 in antutu on 030S. I can't know what is reason you having less.
Currently my Le pro 3 ai is on non official 5.9.27s I have to downgrade it to 5.9.25s.what should I do. Further I want to update my device to eui 6.0.30s. Any help is highly appreciated .
I think that is 027s custom rom better than this 028s. I recommend you to not change anything.

As an example of this way how to move into stock 028S with flashing first 025S and then just update to 028S (or 030S if you want) I prepared a video half of year ago. HERE
I understand that not all processes there are perfect... for example I used ADB to push ROM instead of MTP that is much faster =)
But if you have experience and you sure in other option of processing the steps explained in this video - enjoy and good luck.
Hope it will help somebody.
P.S.: Now I have some trouble with focus (can't focus larger then 120 cm) in stock Camera on EUI 030S and have a plan to get 028S back just for testing of Camera and focus processing.
P.S.2.: If you will have desire to get back into custom 027S you had earlier, you always can make it. It's available on both forums (XDA & 4pda). But you need to know, that changing of using between clean stock and custom ROMs is always requires you to clean a Userspace too.
Thanks for your reply . But I want to ask is there is risk of getting brick if anything goes wrong.
