Hello,
I accidentally deleted some pictures on my phone (samsung galaxy core) over the weekend and I am trying to root my phone to recover them. I have tried connecting my computer to my phone with a USB cable, but my computer does not seem to recognise my phone when USB debugging is enabled. When I have USB debugging disabled, my computer recognises my phone without any problems. My phone uses android 5.1.1 and my computer uses windows 8. Is the problem with my phone or my computer? Thanks.

Hi Guys,
I have an Nexus s on stock running 4.1.2 kernal 3.0.31
I'm only new to smartphones and I think i made a boo-boo. While connect over usb, i turned off mass storage mode and pulled out the cable. I only then realised that I should have safely ejected on Windows 7 before turning off mass storage mode.
Now my computer will not even recognize the device. It pops of "usb device not recognised"
I tried installing the samung usb drivers - no results
I tried unistalling some usb ports in device manager in windows and rebooting - no results
help!!!!!
Thanks in advance
I just installed the pdaNet application for windows and that didn't recognize the nexus either!!!
Should I factory reset the phone?
i really wanna install Cyanogen Mod as the phone is running quite slow!!
i'm stock, locked, unrooted. windows 8.1
i'm trying to transfer files from computer to phone so i plugged in my phone via usb and my computer doesn't recognize phone as usb media mass storage device anymore. yes my computer can still detect the phone, yes drivers installed properly, yes usb debugging on, yes tried to reboot. my phone is connected, but just not as a storage device. no idea what's going on, it's worked before...
any ideas?

I have had same problem. But the reason for it happenning was that there was something wrong with my pc usb ports(though the problems only happens when I have phone connected to it). Restarting pc usually fixes it.
No idea will this help.
Hello
ir i've tried restarting the pc couple of times but no result and also tested on another pc and usb cables.
thinking to visiting customer care centre
did you try to factory reset
I recently rooted my s8+. Now when I connect it to my PC (or even my wife's PC), I get the following on my phone, "Attention: the connected device is unable to access data on this device. Please disconnect the USB cable and try again". I'm using the USB cable that came with my phone and the issue is happeing on 2 different PC's. I have USB debugging checked and set to MTP.
in settings, Switch on Developers options in configuratien. Then there is a USB modus setting. Set it to Charging rather then MTP Transfer.
try another USB cable and update the drivers in device manager.

Ok, I've tried your suggestions but the problem still persists. What's worse, I unrooted the phone and did a factory reset and it STILL is unable to access the data on the device.
