[Q] Remove loud noise when using 'ok google'? - General Questions and Answers

Is there an easy way to remove the loud sound when I say OK Google? I tried to set Tasker to lower the media volume when it opens, but it is not quick enough for the initial sound. I use it in my car, so when I am listening to music, then use google assistant to make a call, text, or get directions, the sound is very obnoxious. I have root on an HTC 10 if that matters. Thanks in advance.

Google Voice play back volume low

I believe I've always had this issue on all three of my Android phones. When I go into Google Voice to play back my messages, the volume is always on max, but the playback is still very low. Across all phones (two captivates and a cliq), volume is low regardless of ear-piece or speaker.
Is there any way to increase this volume?
Thank you to all the ultra wise for all your assistance and hard work to make android what it is today.
The Google Voice default is to playback through earphone rather than speaker phone. Hold the phone to your ear or change it to playback through speaker phone.

Yes I know this. As I explained above, the volume is low when played back through ANY speaker on the phone. This could be indicative of a software limit on the app maybe...
The volume is so low that unless I'm in an almost silent environment, its difficult to hear anything. The transcriptions aren't quite helpful just yet, but I've noticed them getting better.
I had this problem today. The message was SO quiet that I could not make out what my friend was saying.
Google Voice needs a few tweaks, like the option to switch to speaker on the fly.

I understand you wouldn't want to set it to playback on the speaker by default, but if you hit the button to the right of the seek bar while its playing, it switches to the speaker phone. Still a bit difficult to hear. even if you put it directly on your ear.
I would say one of the best things about this phone is that you can hit speaker phone and flip it over and use it as a regular phone. That way you have a SUPER loud ear-peace. Good for clubs/concerts/loud places... but not loud enough for my damn messages

APP IDEA: TTS Volume control in relation to other volumes (text to speech)

Don't you hate it when you're listening to Pandora while Google Maps is navigating in the background. One second you're listening to Rush or U2 or Justin Beaver... and the next second your Google Maps is SHOUTING at you. Or maybe it starts talking toooo softly and you can barely hear it.
Well, I've googled everywhere and can't find a set-and-forget app that lets you control TTS volume in constant relativity to Bluetooth or System Audio volume. It would be great to be able to have TTS volume ALWAYS a db or two lower or louder than Audio Volume. No matter how loud or low you have that System Audio or Bluetooth Volume set to. The TTS volume would always match it the way you have set it up for.
I WILL BUY THIS APP! :good: :good: :good: :good:
ps. Hope I'm not breaking rules with this thread. I wasn't sure.

[REQUEST] TTS volume control, independent of system or music volumes!

So, am I the only one out there annoyed that various GPS apps or other apps that use TTS via Bluetooth are sometimes either louder or more quiet than any song or talk radio show you may be listening to?
Drives me nuts. Google Maps is usually pretty good about volume. But sometimes it talks in a TTS voice that is louder or softer than one or another music app I'm listening to.
Navigon is almost always too quiet.
I'd really love to see an Xposed (or other) mod that lets us control just the TTS volume. So we can raise or lower it independent of any other audio stream.
Please help! :good:

Very Very loud volume over Bluetooth using Google - Disable Absolute Volume

I am trying to find out how to lower to volume of the phone with using "Ok Google" voice search over Bluetooth. Currently when I click the button on my headset to use "Ok Google" the sound goes BADING!!! It's so loud it blows out my ear drum, now I have to pull it out of my ear due to the sound. I have tried every way I know of to lower the volume. After OK Google completes the voice search and starts a phone call, only then can I use the volume control. As of Nougat 7.0 there was an option added into the Developer Options to Disable Absolute Volume, this seemed to work when I was using custom Roms based on Lineage OS. Enabling that option on my S7-G930W8 seems to have no bearing on the volume of my Bluetooth headset.
Can anyone tell me if they experience the same issue when using the voice search with their Bluetooth headset?
Thank you,

How to disable phone speaker for voice notes?

Hey guys, sometimes I want to hear a voice note in a crowded place and I need the loudspeaker's extra volume. But in my phone both speakers are in the same place so when I get it next to my ear, whatsapp automatically starts playing the voice note through the phone speaker, whose volume is A LOT lower and I can't hear anything. I was wondering if there's a way to prevent whatsapp from changing to phone speaker. Thanks!
