VoLTE - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

VoLTE is new for me. Looked up already on google what's the meaning and I can't differentiate what is VoLTE or LTE only? I have seen this "VoLTE Provision" setting on Phone Information but I can't turn that on. Does that mean I don't have it? Btw I'm just using a stock rom non-rooted SM-G925K (Korean Variant). Could anyone expound that VoLTE to me? Whether it is really important or just an option.

Volte = Voice over LTE. It's similar to Wi-Fi call but uses LTE/4G data instead. It increases call quality. In order to use Volte you need to have a carrier that supports Volte as not all carriers do.

VoLTE on G920i

Can anyone confirm that the 920i S6 does not have the VoLTE setting?
My device is rooted and I tried to enable the hidden features using the guide on xda.. I managed to enable several of them... but alas! didn't work for VoLTE.
I am using Tmobile SIM with this device and I would like to have VoLTE on it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

What bands are you not able to get with that model? Looking to get the F or the I for T-Mobile and AT&T... Thanks
I have the G920I as well and I can confirm that I don't have the option to turn VoLTE on or off.
I will try a different SIM card later on and see if I will have the option to toggle VoLTE. My iPhone 6 didn't have the option until I inserted a VoLTE SIM card.\
Edit: I tried my VoLTE supported SIM and I managed to get the VoLTE toggle to show. I'll attach a picture.

I'm getting ready to buy an I or F, so all you need is a VoLTE sim card? Is that different than the nano sim that at&t will issue me when I go into the store?
I have no idea about how AT&T does things. But if their network and phone supports VoLTE I don't see a reason they won't let you use VoLTE.
And BTW, both my carriers support VoLTE, just that one of them let's me toggle it while the other one doesnt.

lte drops while on voice call

I'm on stock updated nougat in the US with tmobile. Lte works perfectly but drops out entirely when I'm on a voice call. Any clue what to do?

As I understand, volte is just that--voice over lte to provide higher call quality. I don't care about that. All I want is to be able to do lte and voice at the same time. So shouldn't the lack of volte capability not matter?

I'm using straight talk, at&t compatible sim, sometimes mine does that too, but, not all the time.
It may be a specific tower(s) that can't handle the load or something. When it happens, mine drops to H+ on the display.

I think it's normal. I've it and I also had it on my Samsung Galaxy S4.
Hi,
For when VoLTE is not supported by the device/network, LTE is used just for data and the phone will fallback (CSFB) to 3G or 2G for voice calls. This happens on all 4G (LTE) devices.
Cheers

Flash G930T firmware on a G930U Device?

So it seems that most users are flashing G930U firmwares on their G930T (or G930A or G930V...) devices so that they can debloat, improve battery, etc. But I'm looking to do the reverse to pick up T-Mobile features. I would like to do so for a couple reasons:
1) I would like VoLTE to work and advanced messaging
2) I would like 4x4 MIMO and Carrier aggregation for T-Mobile bands
3) I would like T-Mobile WiFi calling
4) I would like to get faster (monthly-ish) updates from T-Mobile vs the slow updates from Samsung
Anyone have experience with this and get it to work? It seems like it should be possible with the snapdragon, I just can't find any threads about going this direction.

Wait, so just to clarify you don't have VoLTE or wifi calling on the 930U firmware?

WiFi calling is enabled in settings but never connects. WiFi calling is provisioned on the sim/phone line as I can get it to work with my Nexus 6p with that sim, but not the S7. And the VoLTE may be working but how do I check that?
When you're making a call does the icon go from LTE to H+ or does it stay on LTE? If it stays on LTE then you're making a VoLTE call, otherwise it's not.
Guide for jumping firmwares. You'd only be interested in the part about "returning to stock" for flashing the 930T firmware.

I know this an old thread but I just wanted to let everyone know that the ANDROID 8.0.0 G930U firmware (G930UUEU4CRG2) was just released over at Sammobile!
Physically I have the G930V phone... but I've been running the 930U firmware for over a year with no issues. I'd be curious how much I'm really missing (minus the bloat).
WiFi calling and txting seem to work fine.
Updates from tmo vs samsung seem to be about the same +/- a few weeks.

Qestion about Samsung note 10+ SM-N9750 compatibility with US carriers

Hello
I have question... do any of you use it Samsung note 10+ SM-N9750 international unlocked with US carriers?
it's this model samsung unlocked for volte & wifi calling for any US operators? (like, t-mobile, at&t, google fi or for other? )
Thank you
SM-N9750 is a dual sim, unlock work on LTE but you will see 4G, it work in Canada and US however does not support VOLTE, wifi calling, samsung RCS does not work, if you want the RCS you need to download the Google message app, now there is a thread already where you can root the device and enable the VOLTE and wifi calling. hope this help.

From what I understand, you can call Tmobile and register your IMEI with them (unlocked device). After that VoLTE and Wifi calling will work, but not video calling.

are you sure i can call Tmobile and register your IMEI with them? and later will Volte and wifi calling work? Do you have confirmed information for this?
Which model note 10+ do I need to have? only with Snapdragon (of course I'm only interested in the dual sim version) will it also work on Exynos?
Thank you

I have BRI CSC (Taiwan). Wifi Calling button screeny attached.
Only issue is that carrier aggregation doesn't work.
As a added Note, VoLTE and Wifi Calling also works on my S8+ Exynos on XSA (Australia) CSC

Essentially, you will only be able to connect to 1 LTE band at a time, which means you will see slower speeds compared to a US Note10+. Basically, no problem with LTE data but could have slower data speed sometimes compared to US Note10+.

Thank you now I understand. But this is not a problem for me because currently I have the same because I have a note 9 dual sim with exynos. More important for me, it's wifi calling and volte.
Can you add a few screen from settings folder with settings wifi calling and Volte?
do use now dual sim ? One sim it's from t-mobile and have wifi calling and second sim card does not work on wifi calling?

Settings screenies attached. I am using both sims as you can see I have 2 dialing buttons.
AT&T doesn't open up VoLTE and VoWifi to non whitelisted phones, so it only shows on one sim. I just turn the setting off because it doesn't work anyways.

very good news I have t-mobile usa, so it should be ok.
did you use sim card a different provider from outside the USA?
Actually, T-Mobile is my "outside" sim card. I mainly use AT&T and switch to T-Mobile for reception/unlimited data.

Reviving an old post here...
Are you still using this device and still with AT&T and T-Mobile. Any long term issues or challenges?
I'm on the same carriers; T-Mobile personal (and primary) and AT&T (work). I'm most concerned about VoWiFi and VoLTE on T-Mobile. With AT&T, as long as it rings and I can get texts, I'm good.
Finally, I believe you said further up that you got it on ebay...any chance you recall the seller?
Thanks!

No usage issues at all. VoLTE and VoWifi works on T-Mobile. VoLTE works with AT&T. SMS and MMS works.
I got it from never-msrp.

I am not in a rural area or a dense metro area so those do not affect my receptions. Also I mainly use AT&T and switch to T-Mobile for data depending on reception.
Speed wise, it will be slower on benchmarks due to the lack of carrier aggregation (and b29, b30 missing for AT&T), but it doesn't affect my real world usage: chat/email, web browsing, music streaming, remote desktop.
Need a help here, please. I have a note 10 plus SM-N9750 with CSC tgy/tgy,tgy/tgy. Can i flash some unlocked global rom? Some stuffs are in Chinese and Samasung keyboard don't have Portuguese from brazil

Can anyone confirm if the International s10e will work with T-Mobile Wifi Calling?

I'm shopping for an s10e. I've done a lot of searching but haven't found anyone specifically saying this will work or not.
Does anyone use T-Mobile in the US and have the international unlocked version?
Does wifi calling work? VOLTE? Anything else you could add?
Thanks!
I think it will work if with VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling you flash the service with the Unlocked (SM-G970U1) firmware. There is a thread that lasts it how to get access to our and flash it on different variants of the S10e. I'm at work so I can't hunt it down for you.
I have international S10e (SM-G970F) and use Ultramobile (MVNO on T-Mobile's network) and both VoLTE and WiFi calling work flawlessly.

That thread is for flashing across the US Snapdragon variants I believe.
