I have captured the kdz download link for the h915 oreo.
Here it is [url]http://pkg03.lime.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW85I751A2TEAKE91F93314/H91520a_00_VTR_CA_OP_0717.kdz&e=1533783630&h=097517ca2d8c35f137e1e42123b6874f[/URL]
I can't download it yet until I'm at home wifi. Will update this post with kdz uploaded file when I download on my end.

Well it is definitely still ARB 0 (I always have to check for myself):
Code:
The ninth field of OU 01 - SW_ID determines ARB version.
507:d=5 hl=2 l= 25 prim: UTF8STRING :01 00000000[B]0[/B]0000009 SW_ID
Thanks to @steadfasterX for turning me onto binwalk. I was parsing that crap by hand -- LMAO. Seriously dude, that is a real time saver. Wrote me a little shell script wrapper for binwalk and openssl, and now: aextract.sh [name of RSA signed image].
They finally shipped my US996 and it will be here on Tues. the 14th (or earlier). However, I am going to post a flashable zip of this that should work on H910s as well.
If you guys want to wait till I am able to test it myself, I understand

I was using something sorta similar, strings + grep + cut, but yours is much more elegant.
I like the binwalk + openssl way because I like parsing all the OUs.

most probably you'll have to root your phone.
Kernel with the knock code update is available here (last one) https://www.lg.com/global/support/opensource/opensourceList?types=NAME&search=d800
So according to my knowledge you can get the knock code update simply by flashing the D800-20u kernel on top of the KITKAT(original) rom.
i can't get it without root?? i never root this phone

I probably should've checked before trying, but is this for the latest Feb update? It's bootlooping on my Metro Stylo 2 Plus. The download links work though.
Any chance you could make a full zip of the Tmobile Stylo 2 Plus? I am trying to "convert" the Metro one into a Tmobile one so I can use a Tmobile sim in it. Thanks.

Just starting with basics. did you wipe system by any chance?
and is your boot.img unsecure? If not download the Unsecure boot and flash via fastboot or flashing app like flashify apk.
Try restoring your odex stock first and make sure you install this per the op directions only. Let me know if you got it.
Thanks..
If you want a t-mobile rom you must flash any k550 .dz file using the LG UP tool. Even if you do your t-mobile or any other sim card will not work unless your phone is network unlocked.. Meaning you paid for an unlock service or the phone has at least 90 days worth of active service.

When I tested the procedure, that will happen because you have to wipe data and format. Put the zips on your sd_card and flash from there. Ext_sdcard is preferred that's all.. Just don't wipe System ,Internal storage and External.
Ok Thanks. So far running smooth.
Hey, thanks for the response. I tried it several times, restoring my backup after each bootloop. I know your zip only has the four folders you said to delete (and then you flash them back from the zip).
Anyway, I tried flashing a dz file, but it did not work and I got to the miniOS scray looking thing. Luckily I was able to flash twrp back and restored my backup once again.
I am gonna keep trying to put the Tmobile rom on there though because I had the first Stylo and it was locked to Metro, but once I converted to the Tmobile rom, it worked fine. Hopefully that is still the case.
But yeah, thanks for providing the files.
P.S. I think my Stylo Plus 2 is still on the original rom from August, cause I just got it yesterday and didn't update before I rooted.

I have a metro phone. flashed this and works fine.
Your bootloader OEM unlock in developer options must be checked and of course you already unlocked your bootloader via fastboot command..Fastboot OEM unlock..
Make sure you have a permissive boot.img. I posted a boot in the op if needed.... Just some food for thought.

I am going to guess you don't have the ROM from August though...either that or the boot.img was my problem.
I want to preface this with the fact that I don't own the LS997 model, so I was not able to test any of this personally.
You guys can thank @loopytee for taking one for the team. Root for the LS997 can now be accomplished on firmware up to and including ZV7. He risked his phone since we couldn't find someone that had root already to help. Luckily it paid off. You guys need to hit his thanks button as much as possible. Takes some kahunas to blind flash another model's firmware.
ZV8 incremented the ARB version, so this will not work on ZV8 and up.
With that said...
Download patched LG UP: link
Download VS995 KDZ: link
Flash using partition DL (select ALL partitions)
Root using the VS995 root method: link
At this point you will have root, but you will still have the Verizon firmware.
Download this zip: link SHA1 hash: b5a383558561425a41439de1b764e286f963526a
and flash it in TWRP. This is the ZV7 firmware. It is everything except system. If someone can get me the stock ZV7 system, I will include it.
After flashing, you need to flash an LS997 ROM, and if you don't want static, flash one of the custom kernels that has the static issue fixed.
Also, before leaving TWRP, you need to FORMAT data. NOT wipe. You will be prompted to type YES if you have chose the correct option. If you skip this, you will be prompted to enter a code, and have 10 tries.
Feel free to flash any LOS based ROM, but know that they don't work well with ZV7 firmware. They make modifications to the writable parts of the modem firmware (modemst1, st2, or misc), and you can lose signal. So, you also might want to use LG UP to dump your entire phone so that you have those parts of the firmware that are unique to your phone, and can flash them back if you have problems. My recommendation, stay away from LOS based ROMs until someone steps up to be a full time dedicated dev for LOS on the V20.
-- Brian
You, good sir, are the man. Loopytree shares that distinction as well.
@runningnak3d
Thanks for your skillz in getting us root!!

@runningnak3d
it's running great thanks for everything I can now use my v20 the way I want to. You're the best!
This is awesome!
Under the assumption I'll brick if on ZVA though or simply won't do anything...
If you are on ZVA (or any later version), LG UP (even the patched version) will halt when it does the anti-rollback check. So yea -- just won't work.
-- Brian
You guys rock ... I traded in my V20 for my S8, but I'm going to pick it up again as my alternate beater up phone. I just avoided this for the LG/Sprint bloatware and inability to use hotspot. Well, no more

Make sure when you get it to go into developer mode immediately and turn off auto update. If it updates you can't root...YET.
If I am wrong, someone with a Sprint phone can chime in, but I believe ZVA is the latest. I have a dump of ZVA, but since it is ARB 1, even though you would keep TWRP and root, you DO NOT want to upgrade to it.
As long as you are on a firmware that is ARB 0, then you can use the VS995 KDZ to fix your phone if you really get into a bind. If you flashed the ZVA firmware and got into a pickle, you would only be able to use a KDZ that was ARB 1, and NONE of them are rootable, so you would have a phone that would boot, but not be able to make phone calls, and no way to fix that.
-- Brian
Any chance of a roll back to zv9 from zva
Nope. It is my humble opinion that ARB is something that can not be defeated without a physical modification to the phone -- a piece of hardware between the NAND and the CPU that would intercept the boot process from the PBL and give it the return values that it is looking for.
Alternatively, if we could either burn a new RSA key into the CPU, or extract the existing one, and brute force the RSA cert, so that we could sign our own XBL...
-- Brian
So ZV9 was ARB 0, but ZVA included an update to the ARB version? I wish I knew what was up. Would of never updated. Just thought it was a monthly security patch from Google anyways
I'm getting the anti-rollback error when trying to flash the kdz with the patched LGUP. Can someone help me out and let me know what I'm doing wrong here. I'm on v8 firmware.

Yea, TWRP works. But I've been just sideloading ota's instead of unlocking and rooting for the last few years. It has also been super fast and easy with the essential.
Drivers:

Google and install "Minimal ADB and Fastboot."
Download and put the ota zip file in the fastboot folder (I always rename it to the build number, too)

Download and put the ota zip file in the fastboot folder (I always rename it to the build number, too)

thanks
I'm on sprint and rooted to "F".
someone please confirm: to go to "B", first I need to uninstall majisk, the flash the stock recovery, then sideload the OTA, then flash the new TWRP then reinstall magisk?
How do I find the non Sprint/Telus OTA file to side load?
Worked fine for me. Phone is running great now with no hiccups. The past week I started getting freezes that required a reboot.. but all is well now.
Snappy and fast again.
my mic seems to stopped working since this update :/
I just got a "really blue" pixel XL today and I seem to have the problem that so many people are facing, I can not unlock my bootloader
The guy I bought it from said it was the google version, but not 100% sure if it is or not, and not sure how to distinguish if it is or not.
Anyway, to my question, the main reason I bought the phone was to try out Android P, but it seems I can not install it, since my bootloader is lock, correct? and I would assume there is no workaround for this, either?
Thanks!
I could be mistaken, but I think if it's stock software you should be able to flash the file provided by Google.... On a locked bootloader.
If it is Verizon version you can still get Android P on it by side loading the OTA. You just need adb/fastboot on your computer. Very simple process. I am running Android P on my Verizon pixel with locked bootloader now.

how are you installing it without any issues?
I am running the basic commands
adb reboot recovery
adb sideload <filename.zip>
and it keeps erroring out on me., it says
E: Signature verification failed
E: error: 21
Am I missing something?

Are you following these steps? I had no issue. Had the same error you had the first time because of bad download

Yep, I am doing those exact instructions.
I have even re-downloaded the OTA file a few times.
Did you do anything with the actual 1.3GB file or just flash it as it is? Did you rename it, by chance?
It may be some sort of device driver issue, but I also think it may not be, since my device is being recognized just fine within adb commands..
Dup post.

ohhhhh, that is more than likely it! I didn't see "OTA " files before..but i just googled it, and I see they are different file names...downloaded the OTA now, and about to try to install.
before, I just googled "android p pixel xl" and it brought me to this page... https://developer.android.com/preview/download.html
but the OTA downloads are on a totally different page at https://developer.android.com/preview/download-ota.html

well, hell...looky there....it is now installing just fine! can't wait to see what P is about, now!
Thanks for the help with making sure I was downloading the OTA file....What are those factory images for then, if you can't install them with ADB commands?

Enjoy!!
Do you know if you can side load back to an older version or can you only go forward since they are OTA "updates".
Tried side loading old version and no go.

Don't think so on a locked bootloader. Are there any issues in particular with P?

Factory images are installed differently. I don't know if they'll install on a VZW device, I'd think they should because they're "official."

Been using Android P since it came out. It's my daily driver. Works great. Only thing is now my Samsung gear watch won't work because the app isn't updated for new version of Android.

If you're already on April security update you'll have to wait for the next preview build since preview 1 has an older timestamp than April patch.

Oh that's annoying. Any idea when that might be/how often they typically release updated builds?

That's cool and all but personally I'd rather just wait for a new build of P.
