My wifi works better then the Samsung S8 plus, reason why I say so my wifi is connected in the same spot as the s8 plus and the s8 isnt connected to the same wifi network

My Huawei P Smart's WiFi worked well but from about 1 month I've got some seriously problems: When I'm connected to wifi, Internet can't work very good and It can't sometimes work at all. Wifi works with all other devices.

WiFi strength is good...nothing spectacular.
Good wifi.
Works pretty good. Pick it up outside in my car from my parking spot. Not strong but still connected.

Wifi is great here....... @svetius how are you doing Sir.........long time
I don't know if it's my router (I just bought it 2 days before my phone came in) but my download speed is not very good. I have a 50mbps down and 25mbps up, but when I run speedtest I get anywhere from 1-30 down and always 25-30 up (normal). My upload is always fantastic, but down varies greatly. I don't know if it's the router or if it's my phone. In all situations I am less than 10 feet from my router.
Can anyone run speed test on 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands and inform me if they see odd download speeds? By odd I mean jumping up and down a lot.

Couldn't agree less, the wifi reception on this phone is worlds better than my 2014 Moto X, I'm getting 2-3x the bandwidth at the furthest distances in our house.
Substantially better range and throughput than my N6.
Find my wifi is good. No better or worse than all my other devices. Picks up where i expect it to and loose it where i expect it to. Again speed is on par with my other devices
Wifi on 6p is much better - get full 118Mbps download (cable limit) with Nexus 5 typically doing 80Mbps download at same time frame. Connected to router at 585Mbps but I have seen it a 7xxMbps rate to router but effective internet still cable limited.

I also am getting faster WiFi performance by a good amount WHEN I do .. reason saying that is that the results are very variable. I would like to attach a screen print I saved but do not see how.
Great throughout with alright range, wifi drops at less range than my Note 3 and S4. This based off two N6P, first device I returned as the auto rotation was broke.

My WiFi has been significantly better than my s4 so far with better throughput, latency, stability. My home connection is consistently above 500 Mbps.
First image 5ghz, Comcast 105-150mbps depending on time of day. Second image is 2.4ghz
WiFi is infinitely better than my previous phones, and 5ghz AC works better than on the iPhone 6s plus in the same spots. Signal strength on 5ghz AC is always 5-10db weaker than 2.4ghz. Plus, I get my full 90mbps everywhere in my house with 5ghz. 2.4 caps around 50-70 because of no free channels. Huawei did something right with the antennae, because I have no issues ever with signal/speed.
I'm getting lower pings and faster throughput on my 6P than my iMac 5K!
Of course, the position of my iMac may make a difference - but, regardless, that's bloody impressive. Huawei has always been pretty good with antenna design, and the larger size of the 6P presumably also helps?
In a test just now I got 9ms, 7.6 Mbps down, 1.1 Mbps up on my 6P (connection 526Mbps) and on my iMac 19ms, 6.8, 0.8 (connection 527Mbps*).
(* bit odd that one is 526 and the other 527 - maybe a rounding issue as I assume they're fixed increments?)
I'll second that WiFi speeds are noticeably faster than they were on my N6.
I haven't done any actual testing, but the primary thing I've noticed is that transfers to my local server are typically 20-30% faster.

On 5Ghz I got 72.2Mb down and 19.6Mb up on a 72/20 connection, so its running it flat out. This was through the speedtest.net app.
The signal on my 6p is significantly better than my Oneplus one. I tested both where wifi signal is lowest and tested both 2.4 and 5ghz bands. Pings are almost identical.
6p
5 ghz - 64.81 down / 12.19 up
2.4 ghz - 57.91 down /12.25 up
1+1
5 ghz - 30.70 down / 12.22 up
2.4 ghz - 17.30 / 12.16 up
Constantly drops Wifi. Then often forgets networks and even can't see any while scanning.

Coming from previously a Galaxy S4. I have to say OPT WiFi range is excellent as it even gets coverage from previously a blindspot at home

Excellent wifi coverage
Multiple wifi zones are covered and speed is consistent across all bands
Wi-Fi strength is ok, but it has 5Ghz Wi-Fi too!
Too bad that my router can't use both Ghz frequency.
Only 1 band ac wifi not dual
Coming from Nexus 4 and OPO I'm very disappointed with OPT wi-fi range. While before in my bed reception was good, now I'm almost always in LTE 'cause wi-fi isn't caught!
Wifi Range and reception is bad compared to Xiaomi phones with Dual band
WiFi on the OPT is amazing, my router is at the front of my house and my bedroom at the very back, most phones can only just pick up a WiFi signal in the bedroom or in my back yard, usually it's better to turn WiFi off because the signal is weak and the speed it slow.
However the OPT holds a stronger signal with no loss in speed

I can only agree! Best Wifi dBm i have seen so far! But 2G and 3G is not that good...
Facebook shows offline
I am on WiFi most of the time. Sometimes Facebook starts showing up like its offline even if connected to WiFi. I have to force close the app and then restart it to work. Not sure if that's a software glitch. Can anyone help?

I can see videos in 1080p in my bedroom with my g5plus, with my sony z5 i can't , same distance from the router about 15 meters away
Frequentl wifi drops. Known issue, tons of reports in Moto Support forum. Chinese developers don't have fix for this phone. It looks they have lost the source code for this phone. So they thought to abandon the phone instead of supporting this phone.

How do I increase the signal strength of my WiFi in the g5 Plus? I have root .. Is there any way? At 2.4ghz it only connects to 72mb and in 5ghz it only goes up to 150mb. Can it increase? Can you help me?
The speed is hardware limited, also I would be very surprised if the internet broadband connection is anywhere near even the lowest of the speeds you quoted.
Hi,
With STOCK ROM, compared with my other Moto G4 (not plus), the Moto G5+ has less Wifi range.
I experience virtually no disconnects or range issues using the Magisk Module "Wifi Bonding (Qualcomm)".
Gigabit Fiber connected at 5Ghz | 150Mbps:

WiFi Lan High Latency

I noticed lots of network jitter when connected to WiFi over 5ghz band in low congestion area with good signal strength. Pings to the router would vary between 4ms and 18, sometimes 22ms. Jitter to that degree is also evident when I ping out to the web.
I am wondering if this is responsible for my constant lag spikes in vainglory, paladin strike, and arena of valor.
I'd like to know how your guys' Android phones are performing when pinging your router address so I can compare. If you know how, you can download an app like "ping " from app store for easy testing.
Thank you.

Could just be your network the ping is still in a good range j get about 10-15
That's very possible. Thank you for your time and contribution.

Test ping on other devices also connected over WiFi and share the results from them as well
I pinged my router 100 times and the ping times varied between 0. 916 and 4.98ms. But in average it's about 1ms.

Pinging via windows cubemix plus tablet on same 5ghz band gives me steady 2-3ms with infrequent outliers.
Will wait till more people are home and try some more devices. Thank you again everyone.
Tested an iPhone X, Nexus 6p, and re-ran the oneplus. The ping tests were done approximately 10 feet away from router with direct line of sight.
Tested consecutively with no other devices on network. Ping was directly to router. Bluetooth and cellular service disabled (I tested difference between cellular enabled and disabled, it was pretty much the same).
200 pings on 5Ghz band:
iPhone X: Avg 9.7 Standard deviation 2
Nexus 6p: Avg 10.2 Standard deviation 9
Oneplus 6: Avg 18.7 Standard deviation 5
200 pings 2.4Ghz band:
iPhone X: Avg 10.3 Standard Deviation 4
Nexus 6p: Avg 9.2 Standard Deviation 3.5
Oneplus 6: Avg 19.3 Standard Deviation 5.1
Realistically, a ping slowdown of about ~10ms on the oneplus 6 compared to iPhone X would probably not account for the jitter and frequent spikes I saw in those mobile games... Unless I put further strain by moving away from router. I noticed the signal notification indicator does not really reflect signal quality on iPhone and Oneplus; so who knows, more testing is needed. It is interesting though to see the difference in ping latency between the devices.

Honor View 10 : Slow bandwidth (4G and WiFi)

Hi all! I've been looking for some answers but without success. So here is my question, and hopefully I didn't miss the answers somewhere in the forum
I have a Honor View 10 with the latest updated (Android 10). I noticed that the device's bandwidth seems very slow (between 0.5 and 1MB/s download in 4G with full reception and between 1 and 6MB/s in WiFi, 1 meter away from the WiFi spot at home).
In the same conditions I get around 3 to 5x more bandwidth with an old iPad mini 2
Rebooting the V10 or going on plane mode for >15 seconds doesn't help. The bandwidth isn't stable, sometimes it's better sometimes a lot worse.
Question : is there any bandwidth limiter that activates on these phones when they get old?
I think I checked all the usual issues that could explain this problem. The 4G bandwidth could be bad for a ton of reasons. But what I don't understand is how any Apple product seems to have at least 10MB/s bandwidth on my WiFi, while this phone sometimes drops at 1MS/s (same conditions, less than 1 meter from the WiFi spot)
Thanks in advance for your replies
