Hello, and apologies if this is the wrong section or topic etc beforehand.
Ok, my dilemma began after going on holiday and the s6 got splashed by sea water. The only help I got was a tub of rice from my Turkish compatriots. by the next day it was charging and working perfectly, but I had lost service and wifi.
when I returned home I did all the troubleshoots, mess around with network settings, and then the recovery settings delete cache, and in the end, the factory reset to no avail.
so my next step was to order 99.9% alcohol and give everything a soak and good clean, there was some minor corrosion under the hood, but this device has never been opened from new and everything looked like new, so hardly anything going on that looked damaged whatsoever. After piecing it all back together and switching the device back on, I'm still exactly the same everything working perfectly but no network or wifi?
I have exhausted all ideas and avenues and I'm now wondering if flashing the firmware or trying to downgrade might solve it in any way, the problem is I haven't flashed a device since my nexus 5 original.
It is currently factory reset to 7.0
Build:920FXXU6ERC9
Baseband:920FXXU6ERC2
Any ideas or help to get this back up and running would be amazing and appreciated greatly.
Im stuck,
Many thanks in advance
MM

I already cleaned it all, connections the lot, motherboard,
not sure which bit IC is? but I pretty much cleaned it all over, I might strip it down and again tomorrow and target the wifi area again......
I'm seriously out of ideas, but everything else is working flawlessly

Am I replacing it or just cleaning it? and does this antenna act for both wifi and network signal, as its both connections that are failing, infact I think bluetooth is also a culprit, basically anything that uses frequency.
Many thanks for your solo efforts in supporting my issues,:good:

only other option is I have an s6 motherboard on eBay at 29.99, I know for certain everything else is fine LCD and other connections in my current device, would swapping my board to a used but tested from a trusted seller solve the wifi, network carrier and Bluetooth issues?
id basically be swapping a board with potential issues for one without, and just attaching my LCD and daughterboard over

Hi,
Just wondering if any devs will come across this thread since I was hoping that they can make somehow a touch screen calibration app for the z1 since it really has touch issues. You may refer to the thread found in the sony forums and youtube to see how worse is the issue.
Touch screen fails to recognize touches and its really annoying that it affects the daily use and you cant use your phone when gaming..
I really hope someone kind will help me out as this will also be a great help to other people who have the same exact problem.
Many thanks.

Is there a difference between your flashable zip and the one here in the forums? my model is c6903 LTE. will it affect my phone since I'm using what's designated in my country. Or if that did not solve the issue can I use SUS to revert back to my original firmware?
EDIT ADD: so you do have before the touch issue when using the phone during games and when its flat on a surface in which the phone stops registering touches?

I just merged 259's system in flashable .257 zip.
You can uncheck all "Wipe:" and uncheck Kernel only and check all others in "Exclude:" to prevent overwriting your system or baseband.
I'm using C6903 UK LTE, I flashed my zip and kernel only and I can still use LTE on .259 with no problem.
Yes, you can always use SUS or Flashtool to reverting back.
My issue was during games.

Thanks for the detailed explanation mate, I'll send a pm also to you later. I'll try what you have said by the time I got home. I hope it works. For the mean time, may I ask a favor? can you please try placing your z1 on a flat surface and try running the service test to see if the problem is really solved since the issue is very hard to replicate. Several tries/attempts are needed.
First try placing your phone on top of a paper, then on a pillow and last is on a flat table.
Sorry to trouble you but you really got my hopes up for my ****ty z1.

Thanks mate, been waiting for your reply as I'm refreshing the page once in a while. Have you tried continuous lines or scribble since that triggers the problem when you're using the screen continuously without lifting your finger.
Sorry if I'm really bothering you but I really just have to confirm and once this fixed the problem, I can share your tip to the guys at the sony forum so that they will be freed from the touch screen curse. I really appreciate your help and effort.

Yep, that's my main gripe with the touch issue as it loses touch and returns again. I'll try what you have told me at home then if it works or not I'll get back to you.
I'll be holding on to what you have said that the touch problem is not there anymore since you flashed .259 :good:

If you get it then put it out here, let the community benefit.
As for customer support, i emailed them about the bootloader issue with people who have a status of No and the response was just like i was speaking with a robot, i asked is there a way around it and that the previous response was neither helpful nor educational and I got another of the same responses, i've sent a third email asking if they just copy and paste an email from a list and if I don't get a human response with at least a glimmer of hope then i'll be boycotting Sony for life and i'll make sure everyone knows how poor their services are.
I've never asked them a question in my life, I did mention that and this is the response I get, lol forget that, I've learnt a few lessons from getting this phone, first one being never buy a sony again and second, always check if the bootloader is unlockable and not locked because of a networks request.

Most of the time it will solve itself. Its the glue they used that needs to dry for a few weeks. I take it your manufacturing date is fairly recent? You can find it on the box.
You can use a UV lamp to help cure the glue properly. It has to be a specific type though, go to a nail salon and ask put your phone under one of their lamps. You only need to do it for ten minutes.

It really doesn't matter anyway, it doesn't change the fact that you have yellow tinting. Just use a UV lamp as suggested and hopefully it'll clear it up.

Some users have reported that sunlight helps, but it'd take quite a few hours because the UV isn't concentrated. Don't you have nail salons anywhere near you? Nothing bad will happen if you keep using the phone.

I am from Bangladesh and here as far as I know there is no such saloons. There are beauty parlors but which are restricted to female entry only and I also dont know what kind of services they provide, but probably UV is not among them.
But we do have good sunlight. I can keep it under direct sunlight for 2-3 hours if that has the possibility to fix this issue and while not harming the phone.

While I really love the new lollipop release with all my part there seem to be a bug relating to the sim card.
It happens a few times each day that the phone unmount/cant detect sim card.
What happens is that you can have the phone on your table then when you pic it up it will request for sim pin code.
This is a quite serious problem since I want to be able to reached 24/7
Some other person in the lollipop confirmed he had the same problem.
Both we and him seem to have the same problem and it happens when you toggle off mobile data.
Which I always do when I do not want any notifcations from IMs.
I hope there is any solution of this. Also could more people confirm they have the same problem ?
Yes I have the same problem. Mate 7 in the Netherlands. And its also confirmed on frandroid.
That same problem I have. Maybe huawei do it update to repair this bug. We must wait and see
Wysłane z mojego HUAWEI MT7-L09 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Good then we can confirm it is software related ( I was worried that it was hardware since I did just send mine back inf for service it turns out everything besides motherboard is new)
I suggest we spam the huawei support right now, cause this is a very important bug.
uptime and reachabilbity must be the priority number one... otherwise I am very very very very very happy with the lollipop update.
Have some one been figuring out how to avoid this bug and what exactly cause it how to replicate and avoid it ?

I did force stop this service... let' se if it gives any impact.. but I did figure that this service has nothing to do on the L09 version...maybe it does interfere in some unwanted way..
Unfortunately it is not possible to disable this one..but I have fore stopped it now and lets see if I get any more "enter sim pin"...
Still no solution? I have read that the old nexus 5 have had a similar problem.

It looks gorgeous, but the fp placement ruined it
I prefer the front fp placement because of unlocking from the table right away without lifting the phone. The Huawei phone with rear fp, will have on screen navigation keys (= less screen estate) as Huawei barely uses Capacitive ones. And i think this shape takes least space compared to the round iphone or on the meizu phone. So ease of use and maximum usage of front bottom bezel.
The best fp placement is on the side (in the power button)

no phone has it, but samsung is said to have it in the next phone, using the main screen as a scanner, just by touching the display.

It will be the same, just read the article over at XDA
So you are saying the 6X is the international variation of the Magic, do you have a link to that information, if so it's best to hold off and get the X6, the Magic has so much crap in it.

Make sure you get an unlocked version and see if setting up english language works for you as changing the system language is easy but apps still shows chinese. And also, you may need to work and put some effort in getting google work. ( no google framework or playstore).
Do check properly and get some hands on rather ordering online or checking a dummy handset.

Yep. I know about phones in china, no phones are locked in china, unless sold from dedicated carriers, but some carriers request a dedicated sim slot for there sim, but from the information in huawei's site, both slots is opened to all network, but one will be locked to 2G, if the other is using 3G or 4G.
and yes, play store is not available in china, it needs to be modded into the phone, some will work, whiles some don't, I'll just have to try, otherwise I will just have to side upload apk.
Thanks

Good luck bro
Changelog:
- July security patch.
- Screen unresponiveness issue was fixed for many users.
- Camera app crashing issue seems to be fixed.
Where to read changelog/update info?
Same here though I never know what is patched or upgraded. Also, been using the XZ2 for about 2 months now...having major issues with signal quality where I had other phones not having this issue in same places. Any feedback?
Thank you.

The touch issue got fixed.
Yeah, the touch issue seems to be fixed for many users.
@Neonatus: I'm sorry but I don't have any issues with signal. Have you tried to replace the phone?
Double post.
The A/B thingy is actually quite Handy for monthly security patches. Now if the could just reduce the boot time by a few seconds....

I don't know.
I restart the phone, fill my glas with water, drink it and the phone is booted.
Seems fast for me.

I don't have that issue. I've updated my XZ2 to 51.1.A.4.265 and the signal strength looks just as it was before - I can't find any difference.

Getting terrible signal, as before. 4G generally seems slow and I only get 1-3 bars of signal at best, sometimes less and it's even worse if there are any number of tall buildings around. The XZ2 has had signal issues since I've bought it.

If the factory reset and the repair mode of the xperia companion app doesn't work:
Try to install via xperifirm a system image from your provider in your country (Will factory reset your phone, maybe you can backup your data via xperia companion)
Or send it to the sony repair center.
If i install de DP of Android P, the apps of Sony get deleted?

Just wondering, is your XZ2 screen having touch accuracy issue after the .265 patch?
I noticed my Rev 2 sensitivity issue is fixed but I am making a lot more typo and have to depend on autocorrection.

But I had the problem before this update, too.
In battery save mode, this problem was worse.
And with the standard swipe keyboard, it was the worst.
