Post-Oreo SD Card Corruption - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Since the Android Oreo update on my SM-G930U, the SD Card currently installed appears "corrupted" after every boot. When I eject the SIM/SD tray on the phone and reinsert it, the phone can then successfully read all the contents of the card. That is, until I need to restart it again.
Any possible fixes?

Backup the data, format the SD card, put the data back?

[Q] micro sd locked??

hey, is the sd locked for been read only by the phone?
if I put the sd on a usb card reader I can't read it, the pc says to format it...
if I format from the pc with the sd in the phone on mass storage the phone says that file system is wrong...
is it normal? any solutions?
Try unmounting it in the phone go to settings and storage. Then try erase SD card and see what happens.
did it yet, it just format the sd and is locked again...
is a kingston 8gb class4, it was on the phone when I bought it...
I think the file system thing could be the problem...
I had problems with the SD card on my phone. It was actually causing the screen to freeze in stand by even pulling the battery and restarting wouldn't get the phone to work. Tried re-rom'ing the phone going back to factory rom nothing working. Left for a few minutes and screen would freeze.
New SD card and sorted all my issues out!

[Q] Unable to load SD Card Apps

Hi Guys,
I have SuviRom v6 on my A110 and all was working well till yesterday suddenly after a reboot my phone started showing "Damaged SD Card Error". So i backed up my sdcard on PC and then formatted the SD Card and then recopied all the data and put it back in the phone. After this the phone was able to read the SD Card, but the Apps and Data that was stored on the SD Card are not being shown.
Any idea how i can restore those apps with the data from the SD card?

[Q] edge SD card

I am not sure if anyone else experiencing this, when i move app to SD card, and restart the phone; all apps are shown not installed. I had to format the SD card one more time on order for the system to show that SD card is mounted; otherwise it will have a error message saying that SD card blank, or have corrupt data on it.
Any advice on how to resolve the issue?

Encrypted Sd Card and i cannot delete any files

Hi Guys, yesterday i decided to reset my xperia z5 to factory defaults because i wanted to have it with the apps i use the most and remove all of the others that i didn't use that much. So instead of uninstalling the ones i didn't use, as i said before, i did a factory reset. Before doing this i decided that it would be nice to take out my sd card to copy some pictures, without remembering that i had my sd card encrypted with my fingerprint, so i did the factory reset (with the sd card out of my phone) and after that i noticed that there was a marshmallow update for my phone, i accepted the update (with the sd card off my phone) therefore when i moved all the sd files to my NAS and i put the sd card back in i saw that all the files that i had moved to my NAS where still there. after that i decided to format the sd card with my surprise of seeing a Windows error message of "windows cannot complete format", i did a low level format, formatted my sd card with disk part, etc. None of the things i did worked, Do you guys know what i could do to my sd card to delete all the files in it?
Thanks a lot

Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?

Hi folks,
I have an SD card here that I was using for Adopted Storage but I've managed to get it stuck as an "adopted" card and can't seem to get it back functioning as a normal SD card
Long story short... I wiped the device the card was in but I didn't "unadopt" the SD card before hand - as in set it back to portable mode. While the device could recognise there was an SD card afterwards, it couldn't prepare it for use and suggested a card error or something to that effect.
I figured I'd just pop it in my laptop (Windows 10 x64) and re-format it but this didn't work. Failing this, I decided I'd "nuke" it using Minitools Partition Wizard. While this program had better luck identifying the card, could display and delete the partitions on it and could run the Wipe task - it had no effect on the card... the partitions just re-appear after any attempt to nuke them!
Has anyone any ideas about how I can restore this card back to a normal FAT formated SD card?
Just to clarify - I don't care for the data that might be on it... I just want the card back usable
Thanks
Recovering an "Adopted" SD Card?
The best solution for now would be to plug the sd card into a phone with android 6.0 so that the phone can read the card and then while setting it up,you can format the card as "normal "(the part where it asks you whether to use the card as in adaptive storage or for accessing files).

Click to collapse
When I try this, I get "Unsupported SanDisk SD card"
I'm then asked to select either Portable or Internal and then Erase & Format but neither work. They fail at 20% and the message "Unsupported SanDisk SD card" is shown again
I'm a bit stumped. I thought surely the encryption used on adopted cards was only to stop external reads. It seems in this case it's stopping me from writing to or formating the card
