whatever app i install without using play store doesn't install. i get the same error everytime 'app not installed' . not able to install asphalt 9 from play store because of inconsistent network and downloaded from apkpure but still 'app not installed' . this problem was never in my previous devices. any way to solve this problem?
I have exactly the same issue, have enabled special access right in settings for related app but still doesn’t work
Just an update, after I uninstalled the default file manager and I stall another one, it seems to work fine now.

Intermittently when installing apps from the market I get the above error. I've tried clearing the cache and re-installing the app. Neither has any effect. Anyone get the market to work predictably on the kindle fire? I'm using the app from the guide that calls for vending.apk
Uninstall vending.apk and use the one that ends in amarket.apk instead.
That causes the market to crash every time I try and launch it.

Strange, it works fine for me. I've never used the vending.apk always used the com.amarket.apk
Did you try clearing the storage or deleting vending one first? If that doesn't help, then I have no clue. I have no issues with the market with that APK.
Did you push it to the /system/app folder before installing?
I have it working perfectly, thus far. Cn you list apps that are failing so I can try it?

Ok, I uninstalled the market app and cleared the card. I re-downloaded and re-sideloaded everything. I have the market. I can click install but the apps I want to install are stalling at "starting download". I'm on wifi, I can access the web fine.
Apps that won't install.
Google Music
Retro Clock
OTA rootkeeper
I just installed Google Music without error. Did you install the market from the system/app folder?

I have the same problem. I installed the vending.apk in systems/app ensured all the permissions are correct (when they weren't market would insta-crash) so I re-installed, corrected permissions and it loaded but now whenever I try and download it hangs on, "Waiting for download to start"
Also if I search for say, "Official Twitter App" it will bring up the first 15/20 or so options covering 2/3's of the screen of 15,000 or whatever but there's no option to see more.
Is that normal? I've never used Android before.
Apps I've tried to download,
Busybox
Twitter
OpenVPN Installer
OpenVPN Settings
(BTW until there's a tun.ko don't bother with VPN...)
I had this problems too, i tried 10 diffrent versions of the market.
The solution was to clear cache and data from the "Download Manager" app. I also cleared cache and data from all google apps, but i think the download manager was the main problem.
Thanks for the tip to clear the download app data but didn't work for me...
I'll have a go with the other suggested apk tomorrow.
Problem Solved! / Solution? Not really.
I've got it working.
I have two different vending.apk files. I didn't hash them to see if they're exactly the same but they have the same size to the byte. One installed the phone market version and the other installed the tablet market version. The tablet version not only looks slicker but it crashed exactly once and after I restarted the device it's worked flawlessly as far as I can tell. Installed many nice apps.
My initial thought is that I missed a step in the process early on, serves me right being a script kiddie type and just following the steps instead of understanding why each step is taken. I think I've learned a lot about how security works in android from this experience.
Also, google reader on the kindle fire rocks. Get the articles to fill the screen and you can page through them like the best magazine ever written.
I got Market working by integrating it into the ROM through Titanium Backup. It seemed to be the only way I got it to work.
Has anybody had an issue with google play store not working? I tried clearing the cache, then the data, then removing/adding my account. After this failed, i installed the google play app over the system app. It fixed the issue of the store failing, but all my apps that were installed fail to show up in the installed apps under "my apps".
My question is this:
Is there a way to reattach the apps back to the market? Or am I going to have to download them all over again?
*EDIT 1*
So, I used an "updated" apk to update my google play store. About 30 minutes later the app started to crash just like before. I uninstalled the update. Next, I got a warning that I had 46 updates. Seems after uninstalling the updates every app decided to reattach to the market. I am now updating apps. I will post if app market crashes again. wish me luck.
*EDIT 2*
Well, short lived victory. As soon as my apps required to be updated it worked ok. But when i exited the update page (which i navigated to by the notification) and tried to open google play store, it crashed. Thoughts? I have not tried to install the apk again, and i have pushed the goo.im packages with no success. help?? i'm stumpped...

If you reinstalled the Play Store as an .apk then it's installed as a "user" app, and must be changed to a "system" app. There's a number of apps that do this, some of them free. I'm guessing you already have one, if you uninstalled the Play Store.
Something you can try is the Xposed framework and a module called Fake Wifi Connection. The reason the Play Store doesn't download anything is because it doesn't detect a data connection (cellular or wi-fi). This module tricks selected apps into thinking you're connected to wi-fi, allowing them to work even though your data is coming from an atypical source. No guarantees though.
And in the future, DO A DAMN BACKUP BEFORE UNINSTALLING SYSTEM APPS!!!!!!
i was having trouble with my" zeki" box before i rooted it. the play store wouldn't download anything. i could send apps from the web to the device. i have done several reset. also i have tried every fix that i could find for fixing the play store. i can't use the play store at all now. i had to disable the download manager with a app freezer. now i can use the device without a problem. to my knowleadge there is know way to get into recovery mode. i have tried apps to do this without any luck. i have cleared every cache possible. i have sideloaded several versions of the play store without any luck. i hve done the same with" google services." i have cleared every google cache i could find. i even used and app to enable the download manager. i get that media isn't responding error. play store either closes right a way or won'[t connect. i have deleted and even edited the host file with info from the net. at this time i can't license several of my apps at this time. i can download and side load aps from the playstore from pc. this help, but doesn't fix only part of the problem.
Hey guys,
I'm going mad here on a problem with a specific app.
It's the Harman Kardon Controller App.
I have to use this apps to stream music from my new two HK Omni 10 speakers and in order to configure them as a stereo pair.
As you can see from the reviews on the Play Store, HK totally screwed up the software.
It was hard enough to configure the speakers one time, but now they released an update, that makes it impossible.
There are older versions of the software which you can download from certain other apk-hosting-sites.
With these older versions configuring the speakers is possible again, but now there is a prompt, whenever opening the software, saying 'new software is available' (wanting me to update to the new version that's gonna screw everything once again).
Now, the problem is: Everything else but excepting to update that app is greyed out, so you just have to do it or find a way to trick around it.
Of course I went for the latter
Tried:
- Giving the apk an own signature with ZipSigner
- removing the app from Play Store, there disabling auto-updates, clearing Play Store's data and cache
- wiping dalvik and cache in recovery
- reinstalling the app (from an apk - not from the Play Store)
- before opening it, detaching it from Play Store via Titanium Backup Pro
But none of all these things worked.
Everytime the ****ing prompt shows up again.
The app now isn't shown under My Apps in Play Store, though.
And when pressing on "update now" it doesn't find the new version, but the same one installed at the moment instead
(So I only found a way to making updating impossible, not to prevent the app from checking for updates).
Can you guys think of any way to move around that?
I mean, I assume it still finds the update looking in the Play Store, but still I can't see how.
Maybe it has got something like an update checker on its own?
Maybe just a built-in mechanism to destroy itself for the sake of forcing to using the new update?
Any idea and help is much appreciated!
Edit: Solved.
Had to include a firewall (droidwall) to forbid internet access when opening the program, and then allowing it again, when being in another menu.
