Why is my SOV35 from AU recognized as 602SO from Softbank - Sony Xperia XZs Questions & Answers

I bought a unofficially refurbished XZs online, and the backcover says SOV35, which is the model name from AU for Xperia XZs, however when plugged into the computer, it is recognized as 602SO, model name from Softbank.
Even in Flashtool, it is recoginzed as 602SO.
Does anyone know how this happened? The bootloader was unlocked by the seller, but how did he change this?

maybe the phone was originally softbank version and the seller changed the case taken from au version?

Xperia Z3 D6616 SIM unlock or Custom firmware

hi
i am having my Xperia Z3 D6616 idle for more than 5 months, meaning? its not sim unlocked. actually unable to unlock it. i did not know that t-mob disabled the SIM unlock code pop up in their phones.
i am not in US right now so unable to unlock the phone as i bought from ebay as new. totally fed up with this situation.
i am tried all over the forum and waited log time to get the root, i felt it will be unlocked after then. but unfortunately rooting did not shed any light on unlocking possibility.
so far
1. D6616 cannot be Sim unlocked without Tmob support
2. No custom firmwares.
3. will not boot if international Firmware flashed via flashtool. or flashing pre rooted zips.
4. its known that it the boot loader cannot be unlocked.
i am looking for D6603 firmware ported to D6616 so that we can flash into recovery and get the sim unlock code Pop up to Enter the unlock code.
or anyway how to port the simunlock app from international D6603 FW to make it work on D6616.
I saw and tried HTC one M9 T mob sim unlocking method and it worked on HTC one M9. (the link is below) is it possible can we follow the same method to unlock the D6616 also.
looks like T-Mob disable sim unlock pop up in their phone to restrict the user to unlock as they wish.
link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/sim-unlock-method-t3143333
i request some developer help how to get this done. i believe they are so generous and helpful. at least some guides on how to make it.

I'm facing the same problem, all servers are down indefinitely. One guy also found if your phone never were used or registered in T-mobile network, can't be registered as elegible to unlock, this is my worst problem, I'm outside of USA with brand new expensive phone . If some one found any other solution to unlock, I'll appreciate the information
Unlock service is up.
Now we can unlock xperia Z3 with t mobile app,
The service is up. I bought the unlock service from cellphoneunlock.net
This service cost 50$, but this is the only option for D6616. Time will 3-6 days. I unlocked two of my D6616 after years

not that I believe in pay for those type of services. but I have a z3v and am in a similar position. I was wondering if you could check if your bootloader unlockable status has changed from no to yes or how can u flash stock z3 firmware with only a sim unlock.

This has nothing to do with the bootloader, it is for unlocking the sim only. The z3v is alread SIM unlocked, but, like the T-Mobile d6616, the bootloader is locked and likely to stay that way.

I bought a Z3 T-Mobile D6616 with Unlocked Bootloader

Hi,
I have a T-Mobile Xperia Z3 D6616, but I think it's a bit different from what I heared about T-Mobile D6616 devices, I don't live in the USA so I need your help to confirm my suspessions doubts :
1- I don't have the T-Mobile Logo on the back of the phone.
2- The bootloader is unlocked
Other than that, I have the same configuration, it's a 32GB and I verified everything else with Antutu.. I've flashed a T-Mobile firmwire again and it worked, I rooted it etc... no problems.
So what's the deal about my phone ? Why is it unlocked ( I've never heared of a Z3 D6616 with unlocked bootlaoder ) and why it doesn't have the T-Mobile Logo ?
Thanks in advance.

How was you able to get your bootloader unlocked
Pictures will help, about phone lists everything mostly
Post pix or it didn't happen.
I actually have one too, though mine does have the T-Mobile logo. Some models you pick up online for D6616 will have an unlocked bootloader, I just broke mine and am trying to fix it(tip: Don't flash ZyxxOS on D6616).
I got mine off ebay, from a seller named traderphone followed by some numbers. It just came unlocked out of the box. They told me they buy them in bulk directly from a manufacturer, so I think what's going on is they're being built to that standard and not being locked at all, and just being sold wholesale. D6616 only comes in T-Mobile branding so I imagine it's just the hardware manufacturer selling them to people who aren't T-Mobile and not being asked to lock them.

Can you do *#*#7378423#*#* into the dialler > Service info > Configuration and post your "Bootloader unlock allowed" status? Screenshot will help or it didn't happen.

Also, just adding some information, you can send a screen shot from this menu on the "Service Tests> Security" from the same menu? I'm curious about if it still have the DRM keys intact even if its bootloader is unlocked...

Noob needs some help with custom Nougat ROM

My friend has a M2 (i think its the D2303 single sim variant because I saw on the Xperifirm that it is the only model sold in Croatia where we both live) and I think it is locked to a certain operator. It became buggy and slow and he asked me for help. I would like to put Lineage 14.1. on it and I know I need to put the newest stock rom, unlock the bootloader (let's assume the phone says "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes"), put the newest bootloader on it, and then flash the TWRP and then the ROM itself. I am concerned about updating the bootloader because the .ftf has "OPEN DEVICES ONLY " in its name so I don't know should the phone be sim unlocked or does the name refer to the bootloader which should be unlocked? Thanks in advance

Unlocking a Japanese Xperia XZ in Australia

I just recently had to move back to Australia after a few years in Japan.
Before I left I spoke to AU (my Japanese provider) about unlocking my Xperia XZ (sov34). They advised me to use their online form, which I did. A follow up call to their help line confirmed the unlock worked.
It didn't.
Back in Australia, when I put an Australian sim card in it tells me "SIM locked by operator - no service" in the notifications bar.
Doing *#*#7378423#*#* reveals this:
The entries read
[] Network 0
[x] Network subset 10
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
Also, putting in an Aussie sim doesn't give me an option at all to enter an unlock code.
Is there anything I can do? I am willing to pay for an unlock code through a trustworthy site, as long as it will actually work. I don't want to pay and find out the phone is impossible to unlock.
So update, I decided to purchase an Unlock code from a site.
Still to recieve it, but I did notice something important.
When I put a new, no AUKddi sim card in the phone, I am given no option to input a code anywhere.
I understand that this is done by some phone companies specifically to make unlocking difficult. I am also of the understanding that I can flash the unlock screen in in some way. Is anyone willing to spare some time to show me how/provide a guide to do so?
sir
1. if your device is SIMLOCKED with Japanese network provider then ofcourse no other sim will work (even in japan). however lets assume that the device is International sim unlocked.
2. in this case if you are using SO3H version of xperia then you must flash AU firmware and try the Sim (suggestion)
3. when you say buying unlock code online... what do u mean? do u mean unlock sim code? or do u mean UNLOCK BOOTLOADER CODE ?
4. please don't unlock your device! unless you first downgrade to Android 6 and EXTRACT DRM KEYS (TA.img) ( its a SAGA if you decide to go that path i will guide you more sir)
5. you can change firmware from japan to AU only by flashtool. ( www.flashtool.net) , sony Xperia Companion may recognise your device as Japan market and flash the same firmware again!
6. please update what is your device mode, and Android version and BUILD NUMBER (sony stockrom)

Well like I mentioned, I used AU/Kddi's online form to unlock the phone, and a follow up call assured me that it was unlocked.

1. Things are much clear now, you were trying to sim UNLOCK the device. if you have succeeded and still cant register AU sim
2. then flashing different market firmware may solve this issue.
3. you should not UNLOCK the BOOTLOADER if you are not interested in rooting the device and
3b. even when you decide that you want to unlock the bootloader then you must first downgrade to android 6 and EXTRACT the TA-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx.img file known as DRMKEY FILE and then upgrade back to Android 8 and then unlock.
4 sorry, DEVICE modeL . F8331 or F8332 (dual / Single)
Guys, is it hard to check other forum topics of japanese phones?
It's simple - just write with Flashtool a Docomo firmware for this model (all models there have a specific country firmwares list, usually only 3 for Japan - KDDI, Docomo and somethimes Softbank). Usually Docomo immediately asks for code when inserting a foreign sim, it's some KDDI quirk that they removed or broken that function in their firmware with unlocking.
All of this is not related to bootloader - all Sony phones in Japan specifically NEVER ever unlocked on bootloader level, they completely closed their market from "open source" or there's not such strict laws like in EU. So, it's useless to even discuss such with japanese phones.
Update:
I was able succesfully flashing it with Central European firmware (less bloatware than Au) and with foreign SIM it immediately asks for Unlock Code. Only NFC not working, but it's old problem with japanese Xperias (i was able to solve it on Xperia Tablet and only by EU Wifi firmwares, no such for phones and no one tries to extract NFC from there). The problem with japanese firmwares - in Flashtool only Android 6 available, it's not flashing on Oreo phone, showing partition.sin error, so it means also that downgrade impossible. If you want working NFC you need to find japanese Android 8 firmware somewhere (like 41.3.C.1.147 from Au).
Hey, guys... I just wanna ask, what's the meaning of paramaeter at the SIM Lock status.
It say that "[x] Network subset Unlimited"
Does that mean my device it's simlock can be unlock??
Hi, I found this forum as I was looking around for a solution to unlock the bootloader of my Docomo XZ1. Is there anyone that can confirm whether or not its possible to unlock the bootloader in any way?
