Having a problem getting tomtom to work on my tornado. Have loaded all software etc succefully and can do demo routes etc.
My problem is that I just can't get the GPS unit & Tomtom working together.
I have paired the GPS with the Phone and called it simply GPS, but it still doesn't see it within TomTom.
Any advice as I can only find info on calling the GPS 'GPS' which I have done
I just installed an Xtrons PA7746BP head unit in my car. It's a px3 7.1 unit with RAM: 2GB CPU: Quad-core ROM: 16GB RK3188.
I am having issues with the unit locking up when using navigation. I've tried google maps as well as waze. Usually after 10 min of use the unit just locks. Anyone else have similar experience and know of a fix?
Thanks!

Hi, I removed Waze for the same reason...Instead I'm using Offlinemaps app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.navigation.offlinemaps.gps&hl=es Google Maps doesn't work properly neither...you must use a specific version if you don't want your unit freeze (read bout it in the forum) ...I know waze is a great app for speed cameras and traffic controls, I've ended using TomTom safety cameras instead.
I'm wondering if this is a network buffering issue. I have had flaky behavior this evening on streaming audio apps when going through poor cell quality locations.
I am tethering my head unit to my phone. If I run apps (audio streaming or nav) on the phone I don't have issues, but when tethered, audio streaming apps (like Amazon) on the head unit will stop playing mid song saying they can't stream. Same app on the phone running hotspot works fine. Could the network buffering between cellular and wifi be different?

You need to use Google Maps Version 4.46.2. Don't update it.
Has anyone found out what the cause of this is. I am facing a similar problem...
I have a PX5 Xtrons (GS) headunit and whenever i run Waze/Google Maps (9.46.2), after 30+ minutes , i get a "GPS lost, searching for GPS" message and the system starts to lag behind. Changing tracks/radio stations or volume at that time has a big delay. Closing the navigation apps makes everything run smoothly again. I have tried the latest GS stock ROM V2.73 (MTCE), and currently on the latest Malaysk Custom ROM. I've checked system temperature and GPS reception using Android apps and both seemed fine.
It’s a pain I had my unit replaced as it kept crashing and ensured google maps was 2.46.2 on this new one, and it was great for an hour this morning, then I noticed it was still on the A20 when I wasn’t and then it threw up the stopped warning. Restarted google maps and it failed again. Would be seriously annoying on a long trip rather than just trying to avoid traffic on the way to work.
Waze doesn’t work properly at all now. Really like having online maps for the traffic advice.

Hey, i have a wondefoo PX-5 Android Headunit 8.0, everything was working great but someday suddendly the WIFI didn't turn on (when turning the car on).
Since then, every now and then the WIFI won't turn on after the car was shut down, the problem is solved only if I restart the HeadUnit several times until the WIFI will come on.
I tried searching online but didn't find a problem as close to mine.. The WIFI does work but as I said only if I restart the HeadUnit.
When it's not working i just try to "flick" the switch from the OFF to ON position and it automatically returns to OFF (won't stay on the ON position for even a second).
Looking forward for your help,
Thanks, in advanced.
Same problem
I have a Dicola android 8.0 PX5 4GB/32GB head unit for my Audi A3.
I have the same problem as you discribe. The seller advised me to update the device but that had no effect.
I saw on Google more problems with those PX5 units. I seems to be the Wifi/BT module what causses the defect. Especially the low tempeture could cuase the defect. Not sure if this is the case but you are not the only one.
My head unit occasionally cannot get a GPS fix (as witnessed by Google Maps showing an incorrect location). This is sporadic and can be a momentary or prolonged issue until I restart the unit. I have tried using the included puck antenna and also my car's factory GPS antenna with identical results.
Currently on stock 8.0 ROM. Would using Malaysk or Hal ROM perhaps alleviate the issue?
Thanks

Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some help with my issue. I bought an Erisin ES8049U head unit that I am trying to connect to my cars after market engine management system via Bluetooth. The head unit discovers the engine management system but it's quite troublesome to connect to it. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesnt. The Bluetooth connection to the cars engine management unit works fine from my Samsung mobile, so the problem is in the Erisin head unit.
Also when I finally get it to connect, no data comes through to the engine management system, it's like its not even connected and sometimes it flashes connected/disconnected.
Here are the info on the system:
PX5
Android 9
Build: rk3368-userdebug 9PQ2A. 190305.002 20191113.183229 test-keys
Kernel: 4.4.167
MCU: MTCE_LM_V3.43_1 / DEC 17.2019
CPU: Octa-core Cortex-A53 @ 1.5G
BT chip that has been selected in the system by default is: SD-8350
I've read some of the BT connectivity issues and they mostly have had different BT chips installed, at least originally. Any idea which chip I could test from the list, or is there a MCU that would fix connectivity issues? Or any other things I could do?

OK, I got it to show the data from the engine managament unit when I disabled Wireless and after that it started connecting. But if I restart the car, it doesnt want to connect to the application. With my phone it works flawlessly. I wonder if it's an application error or something to do with the head unit.
