Hello guys,
i want to extract CSC from a rom and want to make it flashable but I don't know how to do it.
Can anyone suggest me how can i do that?
which tools are used?
any guides or tutorial will be much helpfull.
Doing all this to make volte work in my s6.
Thanks.
Hello,
if you have any flashable zip that is for kernel for example or for fonts that is runnable on your s6
& the flashable zip is not for custom rom & non AROMA ......
extract it
then put your folders on it ..... then zip it again.....
for example
you want to add "BTU" CSC
After extract that zip you have it before ...... remove the folders except META-INF
& put system folder.... inside system folder put csc folder..... inside csc folder put BTU folder ....
& put all containing folder inside BTU folder....
finally zip it
main zip will contain META-INF folder & system folder that you put it & put everything inside it.

Yes u can get it
Well, THis is the First thing you should do.
Here are the steps:
-> Download a Firmware of your choice from the above link.
-> If you Firmware is in .zip format, be sure to extract the FW to a folder.
-> In the folder, you should find a PDA file ( The file which use put in the PDA place when you flash using ODIN)
-> Install 7-Zip if you dont have it, if you have it...Proceed to next step
->Right Click on the PDA file and open the archive using 7-zip.
-> Now, you can see a file named "system.rfs" or "factoryfs.rfs" or "systemFS.rfs", just copy the file to your C:\ (YOU CAN COPY IT ANYWHERE. I am taking C:\ as my base location)
Part II - Extracting RFS
-> Download and Open MagicISO.
->Click on File-> Open and browse to the place where you have your extracted system.rfs or factoryfs.rfs or systemfs.rfs.
-> Now, you should be able to see many folders like lib, system,xBin,vendor, etc.
-> Copy ALL the folders to your desired location. Be sure to put all of them in a folder called system. For example, In C:\ , create a folder called ROM and create a sub-folder called "system" and put the files there.
First, Go to the folder where you extracted the ROM and then go to \System\App.
Here, you can find ALL the applications which are un-installable by the user.
So, If you want to REMOVE apps, you can remove them and their .odex's. But, be sure, For what apps you are planning to keep, DONT REMOVE THE ODEXES.

if you mean a different model phone then nope, i guess mini would work but surely not any other device
and if you mean from one rom to other, yep stock with stock and CM with CM would work but of same android version only... e.g 2.3.4 wont work with 2.3.6
I want to modify the Saihon X6 ROM, but the system.img is different from I've ever met, they put the system.img into 8 img, now do not know how to load, don't know how to modify it, I need help, need a detailed tutorial. Thank you

if u wanna extract system.img then use dsixda kitchen.
put the img file in update original update folder then go to cygwin and choose make a working folder from rom.
it will identify your img file and then give an opt to extract it.
Hello everyone,
I am tying to make a "light" official rom of the Z3 by removing some *.apk of an *.ftf file.
I have extracted all the folders from the *.ftf (ftf - system.sin - system.ext4 - files...) and removed all the apk I don't want, but I don't know how to make a new "system.sin" from all the files I have extracted. I looked from the internet, but I am a little noob.
Can someone help me to build a new *.ftf file to flash it with Flashtool ? :crying:

As far as i known you can't edit .sin / .ftf files as they are signed using sony private key that no one has...
Technical info here:
https://gist.github.com/dosomder/8ed79b26a5e063efa5ef
"And that is the reason why we can not create custom firmwares for Xperia. If you still don't understand, RSA is an asymmetric function.
This means it's using a private key to create the signature and a public key to read it. So even if we find the public key
(which is somewhere on the device), we can never find or guess the private key. Therefore we can not create a valid signature."
But you can create a .zip firmware to be flashed via recovery
I used Flashtool-sin editor on "system.sin" that give me "system. ext4".
With ext2explore I opened " system.ext4" and extracts all files and folders (app, privateapp, etc, build.prop...).
From folders "app" and "privateapp", I removed the *.apk I don't want, but I don't know if I can build a new " system.sin".
There is really no way to reverse ? Make a "system. ext4" from the folders I modified, and convert it in "system.sin" ?
If we can do something in a way, can't we do it on "reverse way" ?

It cannot be done. 100% impossible.
If you want to make your own rom Google [NUT]'s method to create your own rom.
There is also a tool to create your own prerooted flashable zip, but if course, all of this requires root
Thanks a lot for all your answers...
I won't try to make it in zip...
Hi,
I am trying to port a rom, it had the file system.new.dat, I managed to extract the system folder from it, now I have made the changes I wanted, but I need to return the system folder to be system.new.dat
Or if there is any flash without having to go back to .new.dat
someone help me please!!
Hello I have two HTCu11's one is completely untouched the other has been customized. On the untouched I have loaded TWRP and the disable encrypt with magisk. I did a factory reset on the untouched to where it was literally sitting at the Welcome screen. I then took a backup which obviously I should be able to use on any U11 with the right signature. I want to now create a flashable zip so I moved the files to my pc. The guide I was reading says:
You’ll see a file named system.ext4.win which is the System partition backup of your device. Rename it to system.ext4.tar (Changing its extension from .win to .tar)
However in my backup there are three files named:
system.ext4.win000
system.ext4.win001
system.ext4.win002
Logic would just say that this is a split archive and I need to rename all of them to .tar and then do the unzip. Is this correct?
If there is a better guide for creating a flashable zip from TWRP I would gladly look at it. The guide I was using is:
Create Flashable Zip From CWM/TWRP Backup
Create Flashable Zip from a Nandroid backup and flash them using any of the recovery. Follow this step-by-step guide to make a flashable Zip by yourself.

Thanks
So I got an answer on renaming files which was to just rename them to win000.tar, win001.tar, and win002.tar. Next opened the archive with 7-Zip and extracted to a completely different folder called NewHTCU11. A lot of the stuff extracted however there were supposedly according to 7-zip 15 errors. All were the same where it stated:
Can not open output file. The system cannot find the path specified. S:\(specified directory\specified filename
