Tutorial
How to apply OTA
Via Phone
The package "com.evenwell.OTAUpdate" has been deleted since November 2018 Update, this means, the *#*#874#*#* method, is no longer available
Prerequisites
Your charged phone
No PC & SD Card needed
Directions
1. Download the OTA zip file from this page first.
2. Go to download folder and rename the package to the corresponding zip name.
Example: B2N-322C-0-00WW-B01-update.zip
3. Place it to root directory of internal storage.
4. Open Phone App and dial *#*#874#*#* to update.
5. Wait for the update to finish and restart when prompted.
Via Recovery
Prerequisites
To update a device using a downloaded image, you will need the latest adb tool on your computer. You can get this from the Android SDK Platform-Tools package, which can be downloaded from here.
1. Ensure to modify the environment variable which includes the PATH where the adb executable can be found.
2. Ensure you've set up USB access for your device, as described in Run Apps on a Hardware Device (may have to remove hyperlink).
Download the build and flash your device
1. Ensure your device is up to date by going to Settings > About phone > System updates
2. Download the required image from the download button below.
3. With your device powered on and USB debugging enabled, execute: adb reboot recovery
If you're unable to use adb to reboot into recovery, you can alternatively use the following procedure:
A. Power off device, and insert USB to enter power off charge mode.
B. Press the Power key and Volume Up keys together for about 10 seconds.
C. Release both keys when the device vibrates.
D. After the Android screen, you should now be in Recovery Mode, indicated by the Android Warning logo and "No command".
E. Select the Recovery option from the bootloader menu and you should now be in "Recovery Mode" (confirmed by Android logo & red exclamation mark).
4. Hold the Power button and press Volume Up once, and a menu will appear:
Option 1: Via SD Card
Select the option “Apply update from SD Card” from the recovery options. Navigate to the OTA update zip and select it. Confirm installation.
Option 2: Via ADB
A. Select the option "Apply update from ADB".
B. Run the following command: adb devices and confirm your device displays "sideload".
C. Run the following command: adb sideload ota_file.zip - where "ota_file.zip" is the name of the downloaded file.
5. Once the update has finished, reboot the phone by selecting "Reboot system now".
6. For added security, you should consider disabling USB debugging when the device is not being updated.
How to Capture OTA Link
Requirements
1. You will first need to enable USB debugging on your Android phone.
2. Also, set up ADB and Fastboot on your PC.
3. If you have rooted your device using SuperSU or Magisk or installed TWRP recovery, then you will not be able to install the OTA update. However, the OTA notification will still be intact.
4. Make sure that the OTA update notification has arrived on your specific device. Do not download or install it just yet.
Method 1: Capture OTA Update URL using PC
1. Connect your phone to the PC using the USB cable.
2. Go to C:\adb on your PC. This is the folder where all the ADB and Fastboot binaries are present.
3. Hold the SHIFT key and right-click on an empty space inside this folder. Or type "CMD" in the Windows explorer's address bar where the adb is located.

}
4. Select ‘Open Command window here’ or ‘Open PowerShell window here’ option.
5. The command-line window shall open up on your PC.
6. Enter the command to capture OTA update URL on Windows:
adb logcat > ota.txt
7. As soon as you execute this command, grab your device without disturbing the USB connection.
8. Open the system update window and start downloading the update. After 10-15 seconds, pause/cancel the download.
9. Go back to the command-line screen and press the Ctrl + C key on your keyboard.
10. Now go to C:\adb and open the ‘ota.txt‘ file.
Search (Ctrl + F) the text file for this link:
Code:
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/nokia_b2nsprout_onyx00ww/
Using these keywords, you shall be able to locate and capture OTA URL. Once you have the URL, paste in your browser’s address bar and download the file.
Rooted users can simply use a terminal emulator to capture OTA update URL. Simply install a terminal emulator (Termux) on your phone. And then use the ‘logcat > /sdcard/ota.txt‘ command to capture a full logcat of the system. Remember, only push the download button when you have executed the command. The ota.txt file will be placed on the root of your device’s storage. Note that this method only allows you to capture Android OTA URL. You wouldn’t be able to sideload the .zip file on a rooted device.
Method 2: Capture OTA Update URL using ‘Take bug report’ Option
1. First, enable ‘Developer options‘ and install Solid Explorer on your phone.
2. Go to the system updates and start downloading the new update.
3. Quickly go to ‘Settings’ -> ‘Developer options’ and tap on ‘Take bug report’.
4. When prompted, select ‘Interactive report’.
5. Finally, tap on ‘REPORT’ to capture OTA update URL of the latest firmware.
6. The feature will automatically take a capture a complete log of your system.
7. You will be able to see the progress in the persistent notification.
8. Once complete, tap on the notification to share the bug report.
9. Tap on ‘Solid Explorer’ in the share menu and save the bug report to the storage.
When the report has been saved, open the file and search the text file for this link:
Code:
https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/nokia_b2nsprout_onyx00ww/
You shall easily be able to capture Android OTA update URL in the file.
If you have been able to capture OTA update URL for your Android device, then kindly share it with us through the comments. It would be nice to help each other, right? Stay tuned while we get more tips to ease out your Android experience.

Is the ota update downloaded from 1046 or 1062?
Are there any baseband difference, since 1062 support lesser band and is Asia specific model ,1046 is an international model.thanks

Yes, they are for both TA-1046 & TA-106. I don't think there are differences between the 2 variants besides of being a 4GB RAM on the TA-1046 & 6GB RAM on the TA-1062. Both of them are also an "International Model" since the TA-1062 was also released but is limited in Taiwan & Hong Kong.

OP updated. But I doubt that those files you downloaded are the same as I have. I think you should wait for a new NB0 file to be released.

If youre using a TA-1046 or TA-1062 it is safe. QFIL & NB0 are firmware files for those who unlock their bootloader.

Can I flash 1062 firmware to my 1046....will it boot?

how to flash qfil firmware?

It's too soon to tell and it depends on what the bootloader allows for it.
Just because goog might include one that isnt locked down, it doesnt mean it's automatically bios or uefi complient.
Loading linux on it is one thing, but expecting it to work like a normal pc with linux or even windows isnt something you can assume.
Goog's bootloaders are not all universally uefi complient even though other similar devices include them (winrt/wp8/assorted android devices have complient bootloaders)
Also, this is off topic for this thread.

There is an ota from LTW87L → LRX21M, I do not have the ota yet.
Also: the NP is unlockable without having to go to setting first, unlike the N6/N9: PSA: OEM Unlock On The Nexus 6 And 9 Requires Checking A Box In Developer Options
Update: PSA: New Lollipop OTA Procedure On Nexus Devices Means Your Update Will Fail If Your System Is Modified In Any Way At All
For future otas, rooting will not break your ability to ota (rooting itself wont, if you modify files you will still break ota due to that)
The NP's kernel does not have dm-verity / secure /system enabled, and it must be enabled prior to the first OTA to stay consistant. (technical note, it's still possible to deploy consistant/secure /systems without it, but the kernel itself wont bother checking, so it's unlikely an issue at all)
Goog can still deploy it after the fact, but it would require a full rom ota instead of merely a delta/patch ota, this is highly unlikely to happen.
This will be reconfirmed once I have the file and url for the first ota.
Edit: see below
Update: LTW87L → LRX21M
The NP does use secure /system otas, ROOTING WILL BREAK OTAS.
If you are rooted or have modified your /system in any way, you will need to use factory images to update

LRX21M → LRX21V

I dont think it should matter much. I have read on forum many in EU have RETASIA Firmware Out Of The Box. The Only Difference should be in Modem Files but phone calls should not be affected.
Few have used RETASIA Firmware in France and Germany without any Issues. I Wonder it is same in your case else you can download and flash EU Stock 6.01. As far as i know, bootloader need not be unlocked when flashing Stock.

There already a TWRP release of 6.01. Just download and follow instructions. Typically all you have to do is boot to TWRP and select restore the newly downloaded firmware. Its that simple. Dont get in trap of unroot and all. Its a OTA Update and will check for system integrity which you must have lost and fail.
Just use the search function of XDA. You will be amazed with results. Just in case you dont, lemme know to get you the link.

Moto X Play (India) Official Nougat 7.1.1 OTA Download Link

Hi All
Today I am releasing Moto X Play (India) Official Nougat 7.1.1 OTA ZIP Files . These were released by Motorola for Indian Version of Moto X Play during Soak Test and is currently on-going. There are few bugs to be fixed; however stable enough for release and daily usage. Any new updates from Motorola will be updated here as and when released.
After installation of 5th OTA, your phone should be updated to below version :
System Version : 26.31.1
Build Number : NPD26.48-24-1
Android Security Patch Level : 1 September 2017
Below is the sequence in which updates have to be applied. An update can be installed ONLY if existing version matches given after file name below. Note you can directly install a version and skip previous builds if your existing build matches one given below. Example : If your current build is 7.1.1/NPD26.48-8/8, can skip to install 01 and 02; directly install 03-05.
01. Blur_Version.26.1.42.lux_retasia_ds.retasiaall.en.03.zip if build is "ro.build = 6.0.1/MPDS24.107-70-1-5/5" OR "ro.build = 7.1.1/NPD26.42/34"

FAQs :
01. Why am i releasing these after 2 months of Soak Test ?
Well, first few releases were very buggy, unstable and unusable. I decided to wait until Motorola (Lenovo) fixes them. Now that major issues have been fixed, i am releasing the files so that everyone can start using Android 7.1.1 and before the handset reaches is EOL. Motorola (Lenovo) are very slow to fix the issues and i dont expect the Soak to be completed soon. So why to suffer for their inefficiency ? Now it can be used as daily driver.
02. What are the known issues pending to be fixed ?
Few prominent users reported issues to be fixed are - Random shutdown (minor users facing it), high battery consumption (everyone), network issues (few users facing it, VoLTE issue has been fixed), scaling of graphics on lock screen (minor users facing it), vibration on receipt of notifications during call (everyone, actually Motorola (Lenovo) terms it feature instead of bug though Google has fixed in AOSP).
03. Will i get Official Download and Updates ?
This is an Official Update from an Unofficial Source. Why will you receive the same update twice No modifications have been done to these files. You will get any future OTAs Motorola (Lenovo) releases.
Steps To Update To Android 7.1.1
Save the downloaded files to Root of SD Card and follow instructions :
Method 01
Just Save the downloaded file to Root of SD Card [External Memory Card and not Internal Memory] and go to Settings --> About Phone --> System Updates. Update will be auto recognized and user will be prompted to apply update. In case update is not recognized and do not get any update prompt, then try Method 02.
Method 02 :
With the phone powered off, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time until the device turns on.
Press the Volume Down button to highlight "Recovery mode"
Press the Power button to restart into Recovery mode.
You'll see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
While holding down the Power button, press the Volume Up button.
Phone will auto reboot to Recovery Mode.
Using Volume Down Button highlight Apply update from SD Card and press Power Button.
From the contents of SD Card Listed, using Volume Up / Down button select downloaded .zip files in order (01, 02) and press Power Button to apply update.
Updatation Process will start. It will take about 30 Mins to complete updatation.
Caution : You have to apply updates one after another in serial order else update will not be applied. At Worst, you may end up with bricked handset.

any bugs? and what about battery backup????
can i root it?
read the op and you will receive answers...
Has anyone tested?
I thought to give it a try.
First I backuped my phone, and flashed stock Indian rom and latest OTA update I had. (Mind that my device is a european XT1562 on which I have flashed Indian firmware in order to enable dual sim functionality).
Then I tried to flash the first .zip file via stock recovery, and all I got was error (status 7). It said that "package expects build fingerprint of ... MPDS24.107-70-1-5 or NPD26.42 and mine was MPDS24.107-52-11.
After searching the forum, I found a twrp backup of that exact version I needed(MPDS24.107-70-1-5)
So I just booted twrp recovery without flashing it on the phone, and restored the backup I downloaded.
Afterwards I rebooted to stock recovery and tried to flash the first zip, which again failed and I got the same message.
My system version was indeed MPDS24.107-70-1-5 at the time.
So I gave up and restored my perfectly working 6.0.1 setup.
Thanks for sharing the OTAs, but I had no luck installing them.
I guess I have to wait.

What version of the system do I need to have installed to be able to install the otas?

Not a surprise! You need recovery and modem to be of latest version too.
But I really don't recommend to mess with OTA because you risk to get bricked. It's easy and unforgettable )
Ok folks, I'm pretty familiar with this stuff, here is ready to flash restore TWRP-backup 7.1.1 NPD26.48-24-1 for RETASIA DS model (modem and recovery also supplied). If you got different model, leave your native 6.0.1 modem on place.
I have 1 doubt , Afaik Moto never released soak ota to non soak member ,so what happen if we apply this ota and By chance Moto release 1 more ota to soak members . We will stuck on this version will be fully dependent on someone to leak that also . And aside you I don't see anyone doing this .
After installing all 5 of the updates , will the moto dev apps like Moto Survey , Perf Monitor , PM Test etc will be there or not..?

Of course not. I did all dirty job to rework OTA into ready to use 7.1.1 fresh build (final even, maybe )
Unlock needed, TWRP backup/restore experience, etc. You have to be at medium android-fu level. Please, read a bit about OTA risks

Until you have locked bootloader, or RSD service ROM 7.1.1 will leak. It should happen, I'm sure.

The updates remain same for all and are ready to install on Moto Servers. However they limit the people who can access these updates by EMEI number which they collect during Soak Test. Once the test is over, the EMEI limit is removed and same updates are delivered to everyone. Once the Soak Test is over, i believe, everyone will get to install all these one after another OR one build with all these updates packed in one file. However the final build number or version will be same for everyone. So nothing to be afraid of.
Having said these, you will just have to wait until Soak is over for any updates to come from Moto; Until then, i will release them here for benefit
Zip Files Not Visible
I went into the recovery mode and selected the update from SD card option But the zip files i copied into the root directory are not visible to select there. What should i do?

I have updated main post with below, however posting it for you as it is apt. Note if you dont have below builds, you can get one of Stock ROM from other threads in the forum and continue with installation.
02. Blur_Version.26.21.8.lux_retasia_ds.retasiaall.en.03.zip if build is "ro.build = 7.1.1/NPD26.42/34" OR "ro.build = 7.1.1/NPD26.48-8/8"

There are other threads in this forum where in full Stock ROM is released after integrating OTAs. One of the developers will do this and until then, just wait. Same has happened when i had released OTAs for previous version.

If you have copied files to Internal Memory, then you will have to choose Internal Memory instead of SD Card Option. I recommend you to move all files from Internal Memory to SD Card and apply update. In case you dont have SD Card, place one at a time in Internal Memory and apply updates.

[ROM][STOCK][PIE 9.0] Install stock Android Pie without unlocked bootloader

Hello everybody, I'm sharing this tutorial to how to force Android Pie installation on retail moto x4.
Warning: read all the steps carefully. I'm not responsible for your actions and you're on your own on this..
What you need to do this
At first, follow the commandments to change the firmware of a mobile phone:
You will need an SD card (minimum 2gb of memory) !!! IMPORTANT !!! - See step 3.1 if you don't have a SD Card
Check if the battery is above 80%
Make sure you have ADB + Fastboot drivers installed AND YOU CAN ACCESS IT FROM YOUR COMMAND PROMPT
Make sure you have the latest Motorola Drivers installed on your computer.
Tested on:
- XT1900-1 - Ok
- XT1900-4 - Ok
- XR1900-5 w/ Android 8.0 - Ok
- XT1900-6 w/ Android 8.1 - Ok
- XT1900-7 w/ Android 8.0 - Ok
Not working for:
- XT1900-2 Indian Variant
Let's do this.
Step 1
Understand that this Pie update zip does not work on devices running Android One (google_fi) or Amazon (AMZ), only Retail phones. No matter if you have already installed other systems on it, you have to be in a retail (better with locked bt).
If you are not in retail, I picked up the latest retail firmware to install. Flash it on your device before proceeding.
Warning: note If your actual version number (OPWS 99.999.99-99) is lower than you will download below. If your current version number is higher, the procedure will not work and you will have to abandon this tutorial unless you unlock your bootloader, and I do not recommend doing this since rollback can cause brick your device permanently.
For Retail Android 8.1
Firmware: https://moto.netlib.re/payton/PAYTON_OPWS28.46-21-16_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
For Retail Android 8.0 devices (devices which never updated to 8.1) -- thanks to Comby_sk
Firmware: https://moto.netlib.re/payton/PAYTON_OPWS27.57-40-25_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
Android Pie Firmware: https://moto.netlib.re/payton/OTAs/ab_delta-Blur_Version.27.301.32-29.11.36.payton.retail.en.US.zip (don't download the step 2's file if you're downloading this. THIS IS ONLY FOR ANDROID 8.0 NOT 8.1)
-------
You will need this file too. Copy all text, create a notepad file with it's content and name it "Flash-all.bat".
Flash-all.bat: https://pastebin.com/pZ9ZteGX
Step 2
Skip to step 3.1 if you don't have a SD Card
After installing the Android 8.1 firmware on your device, download this ROM and place it at the root of your SD card.
Android Pie Firmware: https://moto.netlib.re/payton/OTAs/ab_delta-Blur_Version.28.271.24-29.11.36.payton.retail.en.US.zip
Step 3
Reboot your device to Fastboot, and start it on recovery mode (hold power button and press volume + -- don't hold both buttons simultaneously). When done, select "Apply update from SD card" and select the update package. The update is slow and it took more than 1 hour with me. Then sit back and relax while it's installed.
Step 3.1
If you don't have a SD Card, you should upload the file with a ADB command.
Download the file from Step 2 and put the file in the same directory where your adb is installed.
Restart your payton to recovery mode (hold power button and press volume + -- don't hold both buttons simultaneously). When done, select "Apply update from ADB" and them run this command from CMD:
HTML:
adb sideload path_to_your_file
this command can take about 40 to 60 minutes for the speed of uploading and installing the update.
Note: path_to_your_file should be the full file name where your downloaded zip are.
Step 4
To work everything perfect and with no bug after the upgrade:
I) Go to settings -> System -> Advanced -> Reset options -> Factory reset the device
II) If the phone stucks on motorola boot screen, soft reset it. (hold power button for ~15 seconds)
III) Do all the initial setup procedures, then update the all the pending Play Store apps, and restart the device.
After that, your device will be with the stock Android Pie installed. Congratulations.
Have you tried it with the bootloader blocked?
Just did it on my XT1900-6, working fine but i had to install the update via adb.
[XT1900-7][STOCK][PIE] Install stock Android Pie without unlocked bootloader
It looks that guide from OP can be used for installing stock Pie on XT1900-7 reteu model.
Step 1.
Install OPWS27.57-40-25 fastboot package (Blur_Version.27.301.32.payton.retail.en.US with october 2018 security patch) instead from OP
Step 2.
Install PPW29.69-26 OTA (Blur_Version.29.11.36.payton.retail.en.US) instead from OP
Will try tonight.

No, it is different. OP file is "28.xx.xx" to "29.xx.xx". My file is "27.xx.xx" to "29.xx.xx".
27 = 8.0
28 = 8.1
29 = 9.0
XT1900-7 never had 8.1, only 8.0. For XT1900-7 upgrade from 27 to 29 is needed.
What is the process for xt1900-2? I am on latest october patch OPWS 27.57-40-3-15

I have XT1900-2 OPWS27.57-40-3-15
How to flash/update PIE using these files? both files through SD Card or manually using fastboot method?
Code:
For Retail Android 8.0 devices (devices which never updated to 8.1) -- thanks to Comby_sk
Firmware: https://moto.netlib.re/payton/PAYTON...LT_CFC.xml.zip
Android Pie Firmware: https://moto.netlib.re/payton/OTAs/a...tail.en.US.zip (don't download the step 2's file if you're downloading this. THIS IS ONLY FOR ANDROID 8.0 NOT 8.1)

I think, it won't work on all 8.0 versions. E.g. XT1900-2 OPWS 27.57-40-3-15 has different blur version "27.306.16", but Pie OTA needs "27.301.32".
Is this for xt19-1 or what

This doesn't work with large SD cards since recovery mode can't mount the external sd card. I tried with a 128gb one and it failed, luckily I had a 4GB one lying around.

How To Guide [TB-J706F] [ROM] ZUI 12.6 Offline easy install

Hello TB-J706F (aka XiaoXin Pad Pro) users !
Latest ZUI ROM cannot be found in the file repositories and on the Lenovo support site. However, you can download the initial version of ZUI for our tablet and update to the latest ZUI 12.6, getting 4 updates. However, in fact, we only need two of them. I kindly saved them for you and included in my superpack along with the necessary software.

Adb & fastboot, lenovo USB drivers, flasher QPRST and detailed instructions (English) in pictures how to install QPRST and flash the initial ZUI - All-in-One. There are two updates in the folder OTA:
1update.zip - updates ZUI to v. 12.5 (first A 11 version);
2update.zip - updates ZUI 12.5 to 12.6 latest at this moment.
ZUI first ROM can be downloaded from here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/lenovo/Tab_P11_Pro/TB-J706F/ - TB-J706F_CN_WIFI_USER_Q00018.0_Q_ZUI_12.0.335_ST_201103_qpst.zip
Attention !!! The first thing you must do is to make sure that your parameter in NV item 6858 is 01 or 00, otherwise the ZUI A11 will not boot (A10 can). How to do this, look guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/check-region-unlock-p11-tb-j606f-l-n.4356451/ That guide advises also change country code, I have CN (China), it can be changed after first ZUI flashing, code ####6030# in Settings -- Search bar on top.
=== Manual ===1. According to the pdf guide, flash the downloaded ZUI ROM. Boot, minimal offline initial settings, and you can see Desktop screen. If you need change region code to CN - go to Settings, insert ####6030#, маке choise from one point CN or PRC (People Republic China). This will reboot and clear the user's data (factory reset). Now you need to go to settings, become a developer, enable USB debugging. Also you need set right data (day, month and year).
2. On PC: unpack Adb Tools in folder, place 1update.zip & 2update.zip inside adb tools folder. Run the Command Prompt, check connect to device and command the tablet:
adb reboot recovery
In tablet's recovery select Apply update from ADB and on PC run command adb sideload 1update.zip. Wait for update process completion, then reboot into the system, patiently wait for the booting to complete. Now you have ZUI 12.5 on tablet.
3. Repeat the previous step using 2update.zip - adb sideload 2update.zip. Wait for completion, then reboot into the system.
Now you have latest ZUI 12.6 !
The ZUI looks much prettier, more comfortable and sleeker than the poor global firmware, and has more features.
P.S. The video shows the firmware process of changing NV item 6858 in the hex editor to install the ZUI, only for the younger version of the tablet. The process is the same for the P11 Pro.

Thank you but I think my location is not letting me to download the file. I have a problem though. I was trying to change the region code but the QFIL is not letting me to backup my QCN. I can't click the button. On the other hand, when I am using the NV Read and Writer, my phone is not communicating to it. Any help?
I don't think you should do it, it's too complicated for you. You can't even download my file via VPN and connect the tablet properly
Another link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ELq8YIU1FRL_4OX5RSWba9m2korSRDxD
P.S. You need flash ZUI from lolinet first, and second is connect tablet in DIAG mode, then backup .qcn and restore edited .qcn
I'm done backing up the QCN. But unfortunately, I cant find the hex code that it requires. I cut my chase and just stay with 12.5 for the mean time. Thank you!
After updating I get this screen and I can't do anything else.
Yes, I followed the instructions to the letter
Just flashed again to the original ROM.

I have been getting updates to my tablet via Wi-Fi and after downloading (before installing) I save the update file to the microSD. The update files arrive on the device in the .Zuiota folder (hidden folder).
Thanks for the guide. I have succeed and now I am running ZUI 12.6. I did the updates OTA instead using adb. I setted the internal country code to 00, I had ROW rom before and the code was 02. I used GFil and was straightforward. If you decide to stay with ROW rom I recommend change the setting ####6030# to any country but CN, because doing this the Play Store became certified and NetFlix can be installed from Play Store.

This is great. I already have 12.6.133 for the longest time and haven't been able to receive another update in OTA. I don't know if it is capable or not.

Seems that there is an update to Zui 13 for the Pad Pro, so I will confirm if I can get it through OTA.

I have the same problem. Why don't you share your solution?
Edit: solved by running "qpst configuration" application, adding the device (second tab), right-click and click "switch to diagnostic mode" or something like that.
Then rebooted the device to FFBM mode.
