Honor 6x please help me to get it back working - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Hey,
I have a problem with my Honor 6x.
Yesterday I wanted to flash a custom rom on my phone (LineageOS). First I flashed the twrp recovery on it, after that B rooted the device. No problem yet.
After the rooting I wiped dalvik/cache, cache, data and system. Then I installed Lineage OS and GApps.
When it was ready I rebooted the device. It booted, but the boot animation didn't stop for a long time, so i decided to do it again.
I wiped the partitions (system too) and after that nothing worked at all! No boot animation.
The device is freezing when the "your device is unlocked" trys to boot a system.
I tried the dload methode mutiple times, sometimes it worked but it didn't boot and sometimes it failed while installing.
E-recovery doesn't either. It can find the package info or something like this.
Please Help me, Lukas.

How I solved it!
Yesterday figured out myself what I had to do.
If someone have this situation as well, here is what I did:
1. go into fastbootmode (volume down + power)
2. flash twrp (fastboot flash recovery **path on your pc**.img)
3. reboot in twrp (volume up and down + power or volume up + power)
4. download the update.zip (dload method) for your device* and the "Huawei Extractor" on your pc.*
5. open the update.zip in the Huawei Extractor and extract following images (.img): boot, system, vendor
6. put the image files on your sd-card
7. repair the dalvik/cache, cache, internal storage partition and change the filesystem to ext4
8. wipe the same partitions
9. go to install and install the images in twrp (select the image > choose the right partition (boot.img=boot))
10. after you installed the images you can install your custom rom and gapps
11. restart your phone and it should work!

Soft bricked MHA-L29C432; please help!!!!

Hi guys i was trying to install a custom rom on my mate 9 (MHA-L29C432-156)so i followed the instructions ; unlocked the bootloader; then installed twrp 3.1.0-0; on twrp formated data; then full wiped and try to install AurRom from SD; but get a message that zip file is corrupted; so I tried with S.H.I.E.L.D ROM and it flashed , but then when boot goes to eRecovery, and give me 3 options download latest version and recovery; reboot and shutdown. So now I cant boot the phone, when I restarted, followed same steps , format data, full wipe and trying to installing again but getting a message about all zip files of the roms are corrupted; then i try to restore backup; and same again get the huawei logo, then the android logo , phone restarts and eRecovery again.
Please someone HELP, I use this phone for my work...........!!!!!!!!!

Something went wrong here. You can run 'adb logcat' to see the crash details while starting.
If you have a backup on twrp then restore to get phone working. You may need to flash the public and hw-data zips afterwards though.
If you don't have a backup then you could try flashing the C636 off line firmware and then use firmware finder to go back to your original firmware
Sent from my MHA-L09 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
you may just flash the modified recovery ( See Guide subforum ) ) to bypass the update certification and authorization and reflash an original firmware. your stored files will be lost anyway in most cases.
I would bet superuser ( shield ) and SuperSU ( Aurom) messed your boot image. Both are incompatible to each other and, afaik both are incompatible to twrp 3.1.
Flash TWRP 3.0.2.2, reboot to recovery again to change version, flash the rom ( f.e. shield rom), boot once up, reboot to recovery and THEN you may flash twrp 3.1
Thanks all of you guys, I've solved the problem, it seems that's something related to the sd card, I've formated the sd and transfer the files trough another phone and then put the sd on the mate 9, I follow the steps as followed before and works successfully, now I'm on AurRom and 182 firmware.

Bootloop after magisk module installation

so i have a bln-l22 on rr 8.1 and magisk and wanted to install pix3lify so i installed it and got stuck in a bootloop so i booted into twrp and tried to flash the magisk manger for twrp and doesn't work then tried the SUmount and it didn't work too so i tried the uninstaller from the original magisk thread didn't work too so i tried using a touch command to create ".disable_magisk" in /cache and that didn't work too, so please i really need help here. and thanks
If you've already tried latest uninstaller and system still can't boot, I'd say that you'll need to factory reset it. If things won't fix either this way even if I don't think so, probably reflashing stock EMUI 8.0 ROM to fix boot.img and other affected partitions (if there are) and then reflashing RR would be another solution.
Just use Hurupdater to restore firmware. It will wipe all your user data and requires you to have TWRP recovery

hey can u help me with a guide to to go back to EMUI 8 from RR please ?
The fastest way if you have TWRP (i guess so since that you're rooted) is to rely on HuRUpdater, as the user Mannan Qamar said above.
And if you want instructions I am more than happy to help.

Since you already flashed once I am sure you don't have TWRP recovery anymore. And that you are on EMUI 8 India. So first Order of business is to flash TWRP. While the device is bootlooping plug device into PC and hold Power and Volume Down button. As soon as screen turns off release Power Button but keep holding Volume Down. Your device should boot into bootloader. Flash TWRP recovery from Elemental ROM thread.
Now download Hurupdater 0.4.zip from thread and the firmware for your model. Rename the firmware files as suggested in Hurupdater thread and place them all in the same folder on your SD card.
Now boot into TWRP with Power & Volume Up. Go to Wipe & Format Data. -> YES.
Now go-to Wipe-> Advanced Wipe-> Select:
Dalvik/Art Cache
Cache
Internal
System
Data.
And swipe to Wipe. Only mark these and nothing else. Now go to install, select SD card and navigate to the folder in which all the Zips are present and then select only Hurupdater to flash. Now pressbVolume Down when it prompts. Flashing will take around 10 mins. Be patient. You will also get error of no recovery.img and some other. They're normal.
After flash complete wipe Cache/Dalvik and then reboot system now. In the warning screen, press Volume Up to boot into erecovery and Perform Factory reset. Then format Cache and reboot system now. First boot will take around 10+min. Don't panic. Luck

Seeking to solve how to successfully enter the ROM

Can anyone tell me what is the reason for the failure to flash the third-party ROM? The phone has been unlocked, and the twrp that was swiped is twrp-3.3.1-24-I01WD-Q-mauronofrio.img. The method I swiped in is to double-clear and then select the rom to flash in. The flash is successful but the system cannot be restarted Boot, can only be stuck in fastboot, seek solutions
There are a couple of similar threads from people with similar problems. Have a look and see if you can solve your issue. If not, feel free to ask again and provide more detailed information about what you did and what did not work.
Unofficial twrp can be successfully brushed in with adb, and the success rate is also high. The probability of official twrp brushing in is greater, but it can also be brushed in, but the official twrp brush third-party rom is easy to fail, the reason is unclear, unofficial twrp brush It is easy to succeed in the third-party rom, but why can't the boot be stuck in fastboot after the unofficial twrp is flashed into the rom?
Because zenfone6 is the ab partition, I think this may be the main reason for not booting. Is it possible that the two partitions are not flashed into the system, and only one partition is flashed into the system, so it will not boot!
I flashed in the rom twice and couldn't boot. The specific method of flashing the phone is: the mobile phone system is the latest system, first use adb to flash into the unofficial twrp (twrp-3.3.1-24-I01WD-Q-mauronofrio.img), flash in Successfully, the phone automatically enters twrp, and then flashes the unofficial twrp in zip format again (twrp-3.3.1-24-I01WD-installer-mauronofrio.zip), restart twrp, click wipe, and swipe to complete. Click lnstall, select rom, and swipe to complete, and click wipe again to complete the slide. Click lnstall, select rom to complete the flashing, click to restart the system, the phone cannot boot, only fastboot.
The above method can not boot, I connected the phone to the computer and re-brushed into twrp with adb. Note: When I first flashed into twrp, the phone did not restart to twrp, but booted to the official system to restore the factory interface, etc. After the operation of the mobile phone is completed, boot up and enter the desktop. I turned on the USB debugging. At this time, the mobile phone can enter the unofficial twrp. Then I flashed into the rom again, and then did not restart the system. I restarted twrp, but the mobile phone reached fastboot again. What I thought was Restart twrp when flashing for the first time, flash once, so that both partitions can flash into the system, but twrp cannot be restarted, only fastboot!
Guiqiu you guys to solve my problem, can't the phone be broken?

Unlock bootloader, flash twrp, vbeta, flash rom...ok but phone no boot!!!

Guys!!! what the hell!
i did everyting was written in here. Bootloader unlock, everything ok, flashed twrp, flash vbeta.img then flash any rom but the phone never boot! still go always and alwasy again to recovery!!!
What am i missing?
Format data in twrp.then reboot
I've done everything. Format everything ecc but nothing has changed...still no boot and recovery immediately.
I've tried to put the stock recovery again and it boots (i flashed of course via twpr the c.01 RUI ozip file before). I really can't understand.
I've tried to root the phone but again problem. I put the twrp recovery again (on the C.01 stock rom) then flashed magisk 20.1 or the latest. Everything ok, rebooted and....it says the boot img is corrupted, write or go to the service support! So i entered again in fastboot and flashed a new boot.img. No boot but can enter recovery. Put again the twrp, flashed stock rom again, put stock recovery, format data and now eveyrhing ok. Why so hard to even root???
Did you check format data on right bottom of twrp.this is not same as the wiping data
i made all format.
another curious stuff is. I put twrp, vbeta img . Reboot in twrp. ok. I reboot phone, go to RUI then i try to go again in recovery and .....no more twrp! but stock one! twrp has been replaced! why!!!!!?
Correct,Stock rom will replace twrp to stock recovery.but custom rom not changing recovery
I was doing the same mistake.
You must Format Data after flashing Rom and if on reboot to system it says Os not installed then first reboot to recovery.

uhm ok.
So basically - Flash twrp - go to twrp - flash rom (pixel experience for example) - format data - and then reboot to recovery again?? what's the point sorry
oh man i missed up the format stuff.
Thank you very much. I made it. After format data then i insalled the pixel experience rom via adb sideload now it started let's see hows it the modding rom world on this device!
I followed all those steps. My phone boots, stays on Lineage logo for 4-5 minutes and then it reboots back to orange recovery. Any idea? Thanks!

TWRP shows internal storage folders named as random letters.

I have a Redmi note 8 with MIUI 12 installed. Bootloader is unlocked and the phone is rooted.
When I try to flash TWRP recovery in fastboot mode using my PC, it successfully flashes and boots into the TWRP recovery. TWRP does not ask for any password for decrypting the files, and when I go to install>sdcard then the storage is all in random letters, completely unrecognizable.
I have tried a lot of tutorials on youtube but none of them worked. I tried flashing the latest version of TWRP, didn't work. I tried formatting all data and rebooting back into recovery mode, didn't work. (if you reboot to system after installing TWRP, the phone automatically deletes TWRP and the next time you open recovery mode you just get the default MI recovery, and you have to flash TWRP again to open TWRP recovery.) I tried almost everything on the internet but none of it worked. Is there any way I can make it ask for the decryption password? or have my files decrypted? I just need the TWRP for a one-time-use to install a custom ROM. I don't need it to be installed permanently, but no problem even if it does get installed permanently. I just want my custom ROM.
Please help
does that work?:
Boot into twrp, then
Code:
adb shell
twrp decrypt myPassword
(myPassword is your user password)

Okay, interessting. What's the exact error?
However, since you only want to use twrp to flash a custom OS, you could try to boot twrp (without flashing)
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
and then wipe data via twrp and then install your custom OS. You can use sideload which should be located under "advanced" I guess.
Code:
adb sideload myCustomOS.zip
EDIT: Don't boot out of twrp before sideloading, since your os should encrypt everything again after wiping which makes it unpossible for twrp to decrypt again (at least in your case, since it failed for some reason).
If you booted out of twrp, just wipe again and then sideload.
the correct and recommend way to install TWRP is
Flash TWRP
Erase userdata partition <~ it's important to do this as soon as possible since booting your device would just encrypt everything again
Format userdata partition
by doing this you would be able to access data partition files and folder would not be random letters.

Sorry for the late reply. Earlier i just gave up on installing the custom ROM and continued with my stock from. Today a tried again, installed TWRP and turns out it is not showing random letters now. its all regular storage. i didn't even do anything to decrypt it lol it just fixed itself. Now I will install the room myself. Thank you for your help though
Ah sh** here we go again. So i installed the custom rom successfully and everything worked fine, the TWRP too. but when I tried to flash a magisk patched image (the image that I used to root my phone in MIUI) then it got stuck in the boot screen. I had to flash the stock fastboot rom again.. And as expected from my piece of **** that xiaomi calls a phone, TWRP will show encrypted folders, and does not ask for a password. Same problem. Rooted my phone again, using the magisk root image, and it worked like usual, the phone rooted. Now i am stuck again in this bs. I guess I will wait for about 4-5 days and continue using the phone like normal. Maybe it will work again this time. I will try your method here first

Okay i tried wiping the data, cache and dalvik but it shows a huge essay of "error opening xxx/xxxx" in red text. Data wipe failed.
See you after like 4-5 days... hopefully
Update. I finally found a solution. It took literal hours of experimenting to find this.
-Flashed the fastboot ROM of the phone
-Rooted the phone by flashing magisk patched image
-Flashed Inception kernel via FK kernel manager
-Rebooting after flashing the kernel, It will get stuck in a black screen with no text whatsoever (probably a bootloop)
-Installed TWRP (This time TWRP does not show encrypted letters), Wiped all data, Transferred the custom ROM zip to the phone (while in TWRP) and flashing the rom
-The rom is flashed successfully. On the first reboot you get greeted with another bootloop. Fortunately the phone booted into TWRP. This time the folders are encrypted again.
-Successfully wiped the data (advanced>wipe data). No errors in data wiping this time.
-A fully working Corvus OS setup appears on rebooting.
I think the whole TWRP problem was fixed by the custom kernel. Anyways I am finally done with this now. You probably enjoyed seeing all this xD

I like that you keep trying and finding a solution, even though you had to invest hours to make it work!
Let's hope it will work if you update the OS though – I'd actually suggest a backup of all of your data before you do an update in the future, just to be safe!

tell me how to turn off a smartphone with a non-working sensor?
you can still use adb push command from pc to transfer files to your phone :
adb push "nameoffile" /sdcard
(place the file in your adb folder) I was able to root a phone that had this issue using this technique.
I think u should flash dm verity becoz when i flashed the rom and flashed dm verity it worked fine
