Does anyone know how I can go about running the Alexa Voice Services SDK on an Android device so that I can use the "Hey Alexa" wakeword even when my app isn't running?
How To Run Alexa Voice App On Android SDK
Alexa app is active by listening to some magic words. Once it hears that, then the device will respond to the normal voice command, the recognition service in the cloud called Alexa voice services, which interprets them and sends back the appropriate response.

I was under the impression that Voice Search (aka Voice Commands) was something you needed to download from the market. However, the built-in widget seems to do everything that Voice Search does. Does this mean that Voice Search cannot be updated if it's a system app?
Hi All
Since Google voice application is blocked in our country, is there any other android application to make google voice calls...? I do it normally from google chrome. Please help
Hello,
I am looking for a cross platform reminder program with android app functioning offline that works as a reminder for my specific tasks I set. I know that there are a large variety of apps that do this function, but I need something for the following case.
I am on my Windows PC and I set a reminder, it should remind me with a beep or a sound on my PC offline. So, now if I allow the program on Windows to connect to internet and sync the list, it should be ringing on my Android too and vice versa.
I tried a few apps like Wunderlist, Todoist. These apps require my email and need the google play services to be running. I think the notification thing has something to do with the Google play services, if yes someone positive can confirm me. I also guess in order to sync the list/to/gtd tasks, these apps require the email, so is there any chance of finding an app that does not require any emails?
I am running Windows 7&8, Android Kitkat with Google play and Google play services disabled.
I'm looking for some way to run google assistant instead of google now when I say the moto voice wakeup phrase (Ok google; Ok moto Z; etc).
The only thing I managed so far, is to install Automagic and configure a flow that launches google assistant when the google search application runs.
The flow has some conditions, so that google assistant doesn't run when I'm manually searching in google.
Unfortunately it is not perfect, because it doesn't automatically run google assistant with the screen off, you have to say the command "open assistant" to launch it, but if it works in any other situation
I'm still trying to modify the moto voice apk to change google now to google assistant by default, but I don't know enough about programming, so it's still a long way off.
if someone manages to make this work in some more efficient way and without third party applications it would be great to know.
So I d-googled my phone. WORKS GREAT - FAST!.
and now I am looking for some of the hands free features - a voice assistant.
Currently I use Alexa - (yup alexa on droid LOL) for the most part everything works as expected until you want to set appointments. You have to set a default calendar. But it only accepts M$, Google and a couple others. I cannot enter my own calendar.
So I checked out a few other personal assistants, it would seem they all have google attached to them. From sign in the assistant (which is moot since google has its own assistant) to various apps that are only used if they are google based.
Does anyone know of an android personal assistant that is void of google?
Thanks
