PSA: Solution for Error: 0x2BC, Invalid command response code = 0x80000202 - T-Mobile LG G5 Questions & Answers

tl;dr: check hash of the downloaded kdz file and try to re-download or download it from another source.
Since I didn't see an explicit answer searching, thought I would share my experience and the solution. So I recently got a new G5, and the only way to unlock the bootloader for my H830 was to downgrade it to 20a I proceeded to download the kdz and downgrade with UPPERCUT.
Lo and behold, I got an error. (Error: 0x2BC, Invalid command response code = 0x80000202).

It wouldn't finish flashing no matter what I did. I tried downloading another image (10j). Same. Took some courage for me to yank the battery and restart, and found that phone got stuck in download mode / firmware upgrade.
I searched, no answer. Some people mentioned that it worked after redownloading the file, but I couldn't possibly believe that the file downloaded was corrupted. Took two hours for me to figure, after trying so many other methods, that the file I downloaded from Codefire was corrupted. I know that from checking the MD5 hash of the file against the one provided in the OP (MD5 (H83020a_00_1107.kdz) = b41221137bc292d6e811a4052ea765fc), and they were not the same. I downloaded from Codefire again for the second time and it has a yet different MD5. I then downloaded the file from another website and it works perfectly. So guys, please don't waste time and check the MD5 hash before flashing. You can use a program like "HashTab" to quickly check the MD5 of the downloaded file.

Mind providing a link to what you downloaded in refrence to "downloaded the file from another website"please. It would be very helpfull. Thanks in advance

I just searched for the kdz file on google and found some other links. I don't remember exactly which one it was.

[Q] Help flash/ restore Star S9500 after Clearing eMMC

Hello,
I need help to recover my phone - Star s9500 after booting into factory mode and going to "Clear eMMC" (I know this was stupid of me but that is another story...). From MTKDroidTools, the phone hardware reads mt6582 and was running 4.2.2.
When the phone powers on, I only get the Android bootup animation and everything stops there.
I managed to install CWM using MTKDroidTools and even tried to flash the ROM using CWM after placing the zipped image on an sdcard. CWM simply aborts after attempting to read the zipped package.
For some reason MTKDroidTools does not show the IMEIs, but I can see the records when I power the phone into factory mode.
I tried to flash the rom using SP Flash tools as indicated in this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2458369, but I simply keep waiting with the indicator "EMMC searching" from the tool or the phone itself even after 10 minutes (see attached files).
I am attempting to flash with this rom - http://www.needrom.com/mobile/star-s9500-mt6582-fwvga/ .
I did read somewhere that I have to setup partition information stored in the eMMC for the flashing to be successful. The post on this is here: http://checkrom.com/threads/formatting-emmc-no-no-no.647/ , but I believe I can get this phone up and running again.
Various sources say that I only need to flash the rom. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Why am I unable to flash with SP Flashtools? What alternative flash tools can I try? For pictures please see attached.
I am also now getting a BROM Error from SP Flashtools saying Failed to open COM 8.(see attached)
Thank you in advance!

Have you verified MD5 checksum of the zip you have downloaded? It's possible the zip may be corrupt, so my first advice would be to either confirm MD5 integrity or re-download the zip and try again. Also, remove any spaces in the file name.
I'm also not sure you are flashing the right kind of zip. Is this a custom ROM or a stock firmware? If it's the former case, follow instructions above. If it's the latter, then you need to extract the zip file and flash the .tar.md5 file contained inside using ODIN to get this firmware. You cannot flash full firmware via recovery.
If you're not sure what all of this means, I'd suggest you head on to your device forum and ask around. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help

Best of luck!

Install the zip with odin 3.10.7, like ap file( video tutorial) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSNbHvJdTk4. Then reboot and celphone start working. This change your kernel and boot, but you can flash the original kernel ( i have if you needed). If you want root check this video https://youtu.be/0FEfJ4DWVcY
i tried and after so many attempt, i manage to boot the phone but the keys on key pad was change i.e. the next button could not functioning etc. i thought it was because of the kernel from that post. so i could not do anymore, i can't find any kernel which are .tar extension as i could not install TWRF from ODIN.. BTW, i tried to install TWRP via ODIN but always ended from boot loops with samsung logo and the message recovery is not SE android
if any of you guys knew how to solved this, kindly share it .... TIA

How to remove/change/hide SM-T290 bootloader warning after rooted

Hi Guy,
I tried to remove the bootloader warning on SM-T290 https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...age-on-samsung-a30-after-root-device.3954589/
But when I unzip the BL md5 file, there is no PARAM.bin inside. Actually, all files that were exacted from BLxx.md5 are not decodable.

}
And I also try to follow this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/get-param-bin-file-samsung.3782066/ to try to get the PARAM.bin file from the device, but all the param files I pulled are also can not be unzipped (using 7.zip)
I was stuck there for a long time and do not know should I continue to work on it and if someone are more familiar with FW and system files.
Any advice or help would be appercaietd.

The boot logo is in the bootloader, which is signed by Samsung. It cannot be changed. Also, the bootloader unlock message is in the bootloader. It cannot be removed.
Hi all, I'm here in Feb23 also looking to kill off the annoying unlock warning on an SM-T295 ( LTE version of T290 ). Is this option stone cold dead or was a solution found? I can just see other posts in different Samsung groups where the PARAM file has been located and shared for users to drop in. My SM-T295 is being re-purposed for a car install, so I just want rid of the annoying visuals/time loss as the car ignition feed triggers the launch of the device.

hi old friend, I bricked my phone again and found out that besides the volume buttons being pressed while you connect the phone to the computer, you would need the right DA FILE to work. In my case only the NoAauth.bin worked to flash the rom. this is the link :https://www.mediafire.com/file/hl565n463bfe2u4/No_Auth.bin/file
