FM radio support and options - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Questions & Answers

What is the status of FM support? I was wondering if there are any hacks to support FM radio.
As I see it there are three possible options:
FM support exists but it is not utilized. A software hack could solve this
Hack the modem so that it listens to FM frequencies
An external receiver utilized through otg. But where would we place the headphones?

FM is CPU feature. Snapdragon has no FM module. Stop dreaming.

only with external USB tuner. i have one, and driver app recognize it but cant play without external power (need USB OTG cable for that)

Am I missing sth?

No problem! That's unfortunate though. Anyway, it is what it is for now :/
I ordered one of these, as an alternative. Maybe I'll put an external tuner there.

Poco also have fm, but why not mix2s?

The stock rom/kernel doesn't support USB Audio Out. AFAIK, all roms which have CM base support usb audio out.

So action is dependent only on the rom? Can I use the stock kernel ?

No, you cannot use a stock kernel with cyanogen ROM. Cyanogen use CAF parts so you must use a CAF kernel.

The stock Nexus 5 doesn't have a native USB audio feature.
The stock Nexus 5 using the USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP) app, which includes its own USB audio soft driver, can work with compatible standard USB DAC like the ODAC.
By the way, UAPP is the best sound quality music player to my ears for the time being.

Google is adding support of USB audio to the upcoming Android L.
There is a list of USB DAC reportedly interworking or not interworking with the native USB audio of Android L Developer Preview on Nexus 5.

Headphones that I use on my notebook have TRRS cable and mic works fine on notebook but not on my phone. If you can try it before buying its ok but buy something for 90$ and than see if it work or not is not smart move.
Just buy it, and return if it doesn't work
Most of headphones use different pins. And most of companies use Apple ""standard"" that is not compatible with other devices.
For example:

its only example with generic/nokia/apple connectors but you see why they may not work.

maybe you could ""expand" your amazing and valuable comment?
Because for your information loots of headphones made eg for iPhone have problem with using additional buttons(next/prev etc) or even mic(but that really rare).
And just because you have ONE model from hundreds available headphones in world it doesn't mean that its always work perfect.
Duuude, I have Kraken Pro Neon and Adaro Stereo. Both of them work totally awesome. And the mic works on KK and LP(I have tested on these) The Kraken is more for gaming, but the Adaro is for music. :good:

WiFi - turn off auto connection to open networks?

Hi.
Had my Poco F2 Pro for a week or so now but I cannot find the option to disable the wifi from auto-connecting to open networks in MIUI 12.
So, as I'm walking along I'm bombarded by notifications "You are connected to The Cloud", "You are connected to XYZ" etc and I'm repeatedly losing my 4G connection as it's switching to these wifi networks.
I had the same issue with my previous phone, a Umidigi F1 Play, running close to stock Android 9 - but there's an option in the wifi settings to turn it off, as there is on the other 2 even older phones.
Anyone know how to disable this auto-connection? It will drive me mad as the only way to stop it is to manually turn off wifi whenever I leave the house, which is obviously crazy and pretty much a showstopper issue for me.
Thanks!

Difficult to answer because the thread concerns the Poco f2. But this option now exists on the Poco f2. Settings-> Wifi settings-> Wifi assistant
No, there's no such option under assistant.

Has the problem been resolved? I sometimes wonder what the Xiaomi developers think when they disable essential security features.

This is not a problem just an option that no longer exists or not on your rom.
Very well. Is there a workaround?
Change rom.

Does the stock MIUI Rom of lmi support LHDC 4.0?

I've bought the Xiaomi Buds 3 Pro. After I connect it to my Poco F2 Pro, I found there is no LHDC or Low Latency switch on my bluetooth setting page. Does it really support the LHDC 4.0 codec?

Unfortunately, codex list in Developer Options is just a placeholder. You can select any codec but the phone will switch only if it's supported.

I Have the Mi 11 lite 5g and bought Mi buds 3t pro, and don't show the option to turn on the LHDC codec, I'm really sad.
Wich phone you have?
Hello it works for me on poco f2 and mi12. On both phones directly in BT settings an update option appeared (to support new headphone models I guess but maybe also new codecs). They promised LHDC compatibility only for newer devices so I was surprised on the poco maybe you receive also the update. As Player I use poweramp with high res output setting if that's important and Dolby atmos should be deactivated.
just received another update on mi 12

Question Does it have support for aptX HD audio?

Hello,
In google specification sheet it's not specified, and in gsmarena specification sheet it's missing (although 7 and 7 PRO has it)
Gsmarena comparision of 7a / 7 / 7 PRO
Could someone who has the 7a check if it has aptX HD audo support?
To check it: Settings -> System -> Developer options -> click on Bluetooth Audio Codec to see all available codecs.
Thank You in advance.

If I am not mistaken you must have a compatible Bluetooth device connected for it to be available. I know the options do not light up on my phone until then but I do not have aptx hd headphones to answer this question myself.

Can confirm aptX and aptX HD are available in GrapheneOS once compatible headphones are connected, surely they are available in stock as well.
For some reason AAC is not available though (on GrapheneOS at least), despite my headphones (SoundMAGIC P23BT) supporting it and it being available on other devices.
My aac lights up and works on my headphones on paranoid.

I see, thanks. Probably just not on GrapheneOS then for the time being. I use aptX anyway, so no problem there.
Thank You all for responses.
I did buy the pixel 7a and can confirm now too that it has BT HD support and it works fine
Tested with Fiio BTR3 (using stock Android 13 and 14 beta)
