I bought the XZ Premium International version and have a pre-paid account through at&t (SIM card) I am not able to use or download US apps like basic banking applications or anything... “not available in your country” is what it says. I can’t even use the AT&T app. How can I use the US google play store and install apps on this version?

Anyone know if the Android market place accessed from a Xoom wifi version is region free or locked? And whether the marketplace apps that are not built for tablets will show or not?
Reason i ask is I'm in Hong Kong and got a wifi version here but I want to install etrade app, but it doesn't list on the market app, however it lists on the market website.
When I try to checkout I can send it to my phone but not my tablet, saying it's incompatible.
If the market is region locked I wonder whether market enabler would work since the wifi version doesn't have sims.
I noticed many people had had trouble recently from accessing the US Play Store from other countries, after apps such as Market Access and Market Enabler stopped working. I also found that people had trouble using VPNs.
I finally managed to find Pandora, a US-only app in the Play Store, meaning that it worked.
Essentially, I think Google can detect whether you've paid for apps already from a non-US source already on your current Google account. So basically I created a new Google account, moved my IP to a US server using Tunnelbear (available in Google Play), and emulated my SIM to T Mobile US using Market Access (just to be safe). I then went through the normal process of clearing data and force stopping Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Then I opened Play Store and it automatically went to my primary Google account.
All I had to do thereafter was switch to my newly created account and I searched Pandora and found it. I also searched Hulu Plus and found it.
I can also confirm that you can get Google Wallet from the Play Store via this newly created Google account. I emulated my SIM to Sprint US, VPN to the US of course, and edited my build.prop to emulate a Galaxy Nexus. I searched Wallet on the Play Store after clearing data and force stopping and downloaded the latest version. I lost all sound from my phone after emulating a Galaxy Nexus (I am on the i9300), but I found that sound was fine after restoring my build.prop and installing Google Wallet. It now works fine with my original build.prop but just make sure you install it when you're still emulating a Galaxy Nexus.
Hope this helps at least some people.

Thanks !
I'm still trying to find a method for accessing the us store from my old account though....
Would be great if Google would adopt the Apple - Itunes system and allow us to change through any country we desire...

Yeah I know that would be ideal.
Also I can't find any way to access it through my primary Google account. But I'm not too worried about that because it only takes a matter of seconds to switch accounts. I just have to make sure I always use my original account for UK apps and new one for US apps.
Perhaps you could try wiping all payment information from your current Google account? But I don't know if that will work because Google will probably still have a backlog.

My current network isn't supported with payment on Google Play. I'm curious, can I buy apps using my prepaid credits/load?

Hi,
You have some different options to pay on Google Play like credit cards, mobile operator or gift cards that you can buy. I recommend you to read this to know more about it:

The best solution still the credit card that you can add to your Wallet acount and make any purchase of Google Services.
Hi guys.
I bought my pixel 2 in Germany and I can't set up Google Pay and android Pay in any way.
Could anyone let me know what do I need to do to be able to use Google pay?
I'm living in London now, should I flash my pixel for UK firmware and I will be able to use android or Google pay?
Thanks for your time and help
Best Wishes
What's your specific problem? Can you launch the google pay app at all? If you're trying to set up a card in google pay, that's dependent on the support from your card provider (I have some that work and some that don't). Check out https://pay.google.com/intl/en_uk/about/banks/

My problem was that I couldn't even download it. Now I managed to change my Google play store country and it's working. Thanks for your time anyway.
Hello,
I just got from eBay Hong-Kong/China version of Galaxy Note 10 (SM-N9700).
I bought this version because it was at a big discount.
I checked the frequencies and channels and it suits the carriers I'm using.
Also, it includes the same CPU and RAM
But a minute before I opened the box I notice some article online that describe this version as one that doesn't have Google services support because in China it's not allowed.
I love Google apps and services and use them all the time.
Before I open the box I really want to know if I can install and use google apps without any issues?
I prefer to avoid any root hacking or install new firmware.
Also in website, it was signed with "/DS" suffix which means it's dual-sim
But when I looked on the box it was with this suffix and I use two different carriers, one local and one international
Should I open the box to check if it's actually dual sim?
My carriers are:
* T-Mobile in USA
* Cellcom in Israel
Thank you ,

Yes, HK version is the international firmware with all google services and apps (I know I answer a bit late for you but maybe some people are still interested)
