4 Great Security Features on the Honor 10 - Honor 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

1. Private Space
Settings > Security & privacy > PrivateSpace
Private Space is a separate account where you can hide all of your private files, photos, videos and apps. You setup this account with a pin and fingerprint password. After you're all set up, you can access your private space by pressing the fingerprint sensor which will log you in to your separate account. Your main fingerprint will be used for your primary account and a separate fingerprint will be used to access your private space. It's really fast and secure, which makes this a great EMUI feature.
2. Face Unlock
Settings > Security & privacy > Face unlock
Face unlock technology has gotten so good, that it's now one of the favorite way to unlock your phone. After setting up your your face unlock on your Honor 10, picking up your phone will automatically trigger the face detection. It only takes a fraction of a second for your phone to unlock. I use face unlock with my Honor 10 and it works from all different angles and lighting conditions.
3. App Lock
Settings > Security & privacy > App Lock
In EMUI 8.1, you don't need to download an additional app to lock specific applications with a password. In your settings, you can toggle which apps to be locked behind a four digit pass code. You can also associate a fingerprint with the locked app, so you can unlock with your finger as well. I use the app for my file manage, Play store, Gallery and Snapchat.
4. File Safe
Settings > Security & privacy > File safe
File safe is a security feature that lets you set an encryption to specific files and folders within your Honor 10. When trying to access these files through the file manager, you'll get a password prompt to continue.

[APP][2.3+][WIDGET] App Guardian

Program allows you to lock or block access to selected application, access may be obtained by selecting pattern or password
App Guardian
[QRCODE]market://details?id=org.jastrzab.guardian[/QRCODE]
this is simple, i like it
But try this :
1. Download the app
2. Set to block an app
3. Open the app and see the lock is there
4. Open Settings > app > App Guirdian > Clear Data
5. Open the app and see there is no lock :v
so i guess you would like to add an option to automatically block settings?
and oh, if you want to change the pattern from the app, it doesn't ask for the current pattern
turn off/on screen or wait 1 minute and see what happens, when you try to access program or system settings
program by default blocks access settings "com.android.settings" and overrides clear settings button
after configuration or add new apps to list need to clear login, turn off/on screen
Owh, seems that's my problem then..
thanks
everything is working properly now ?, app has been tested on a small number of devices in theory there shouldn't be problems, but.....
Now program is fully completed, access may be obtained by selecting pattern or PIN

Samsung s6 ,lock a specific app on lock screen

Hi everyone , I hope someone can help me with this.
I hope there's an app or way to do it.
Basically i want to know whether is possible to lock an app on the lock screen so that it can be used but you can't exit it or use other apps without inserting patter code or lock code.
In this case I would like to be able to have my playlist on the lock scree so that even if some of my friends handles the phone ,they'll be able to scroll through the list of songs and use the music player but won't be able to do anything else unless they unlock the device
is something like this possible?(at the moment there's a small widget at the top of the screen that can be used to pause, next songs etc when the lock screen is on but it doesn't allow to have more access to the app features such as playlist songs etc)
Thank you
any advice ?
Settings > Lockscreen and security > Other security settings > Pin windows.
Thank you so much Giocarro, this is exactly what I am looking for.
However, I have tried to check whether the function is available in tasker and can't seemt o find it.
I would like to aumate this so that when I'm in my car I can automatically get the music player open and pin it to the window using the script.
Are you aware of a way to do this through tasker or by any other method?
Thank you
I don't think it is possible, and I am a Tasker user, too.
The thing you can do is activate Settings app when you launch music app; I use this method to enable GPS when launching Maps.
i turn on gps when I open the map too but opening the setting app doesn't have any relevance here if I'm correct.
The settings to activate pin windows is a one of option.
the way windows are pinned is by pressing the recent button and then press on the pin icon on the bottom right side of the recent window you want to pin
This last stage is a bit annoying if it can't be done without a script, however this option that allows to pin apps is quiet useful.
thank you
Only way I could think of doing what you want would be to use Tasker "Send intent" feature, but I am not a developer so don't know whether there is an 'intent' for pinning the current app or not.

Lock system apps with default App Lock

I have a dilemma, is it in anyway possible to lock access to settings via the default Huawei App Lock? sibling changes all settings whenever he takes the phone, really annoying af.
No. You need a third party app locker.
Add user and have a different password for it. It will be limited to the account he uses and not to yours so everything will be fine.
That could work too.

Screen security (silly?) question

Hi,
i'm on OOS 5.1.6 with unlocked bootlader, official TWRP, and root via Magisk, also got xposed and a few modules (greenify being one of them).
Now the noob silly part: how comes that even if i set fingerprint security for lockscreen (with PIN security behind), if i turn off the screen via power button, and then wake it up (after more than 5secs!) with button again, i am presented with a lockscreen with no security and i can simply swipe up the lock icon and enter the phone?
I'm for sure missing something really obvious here, OR one of my modules (GB, Greenify) might interfere with the security?
Just to be clear: fingerprint unlocking WORKS flawlessly, but if i use the button it just shows the small lock icon that i can simply swipe-up.
Thanks!
Maybe you have enabled face unlock?
Do you have smart lock on? Trusted place or similar, smart watch etc. If one of those are on, it will let you unlock just with a swipe.
And the default time for this lock is 5 sec, see the settings icon right of display lock in settings - security
Thanks guys, i had for some reason Smart Lock enabled, and specifically trusted places (Home) taken from Google Maps. I could not disable it (well i could, but it reverted back as active) until i found under 'Trust Agents' Smart Lock (Google) and disabled it.
Weird.

1. Private Space
Settings > Security & privacy > PrivateSpace

After you're all set up, you can access your private space by pressing the fingerprint sensor which will log you in to your separate account. 2. Color mode & temperature
Settings > Display > Color mode & temperature
The Color Mode & Temperature adjustments let you fine-tune the colors on your screen. You can choose between Normal and Vivid mode based on how saturated you'd like your screen to be. Color Temperature adjustment will help you make your colors as accurate as possible. Adjust it until your whites are as white as they can be, blues are blue ect.
3. Screen Recording
Vol Up + Power
To activate screen recording, hold power + vol up. Then you will be asked to select your audio input. There is no limit to the amount of time that you can record, so just make sure you have enough space. I made a 1:20:00 recording and it ended up being 2.6GB. Your recordings will save as a 606x1280p resolution .mp4 file. The notch at the top is blacked out for a better recording btw.
4. Blocked MSGs and Calls
Phone Manager > Blocked
You can block calls and texts from specific people using the phone manager. You can also add keywords to a blacklist. Any msgs containing the blacklisted keywords will be trashed. Any number on your whitelist will override any of the blacklisted keywords. It's a really great way to give the users advanced control over the content coming in through msgs and calls.
5. Game Suite
Apps > Game Suite
If you like gaming without interruption, add your game to the game suite. Any apps launched through the game suite will run without having notifications kill your experience. Calls, msgs, notifications and everything else that might pop up will be blocked until your game is over.
