My phone fell off from a good height a few days ago and a car ran over it which resulted in the back panel of the phone to come off and the screen was completely shattered, finger print doesn't work. Well anyway, I got my phone's screen fixed and now the WiFi range, Bluetooth range is severely decreased like I have to sit near the router to catch some network, same with the Bluetooth and GPS doesn't even catch a signal.. So is there any solution apart from getting the back panel?

Just noticed on XDA twitter they're having issues with wifi on the One X.....I have it on my sensation ! Although not identical its still annoying!
What the issue is...
Watching YouTube videos on my phone I turn it 90 degrees CCW,clasping the phone on top and bottom the video starts buffering. Internet speed is a good 7meg BUT low and behold my Wi-Fi signal has no (yes zero) bars! Just the dot there.Weird as the router is less than a metre away!
So I turn it upright wait for it to buffer and play, cool its loading well. Turn the phone sideways again BAM no wifi signal! It seems that putting even one finger over the top of my phone loses Wi-Fi signal nearly completely, phoned my friend with an XE and asked him to do the same, seems we both have the issue! I always wondered why VOIP calling cut out when I'm near to my router! Can anyone else try this please? Try covering the top from the camera lens all the way up

Its a completely different issue, the Sensation uses the battery cover as mobile and wifi antennas, covering the top will make your wifi drop, cover the bottom and your mobile network will drop.
Pull the back off and look and you'll see gold plated connectors, 3 of them, or 4 if you have the Sensation 4G, not much you can do, just hold the phone with finger and thumb when horizontal leaving the back and top and bottom uncovered, easy to get used to
Because I love my new Nexus 5 so much, I "had" to go swimming with it for about 10 mins until I *realized* it's not water-proof. :silly:
Anyway, I opened it up and did my best to save it. And it boots up and functions again. :victory: However, there are three sequels:
1. LCD display shows water streaks in the background and the contrast is bad but can still see;
2. The vertical center line of the touch sensor doesn't seem to work; Elsewhere works fine;
3. Very weak WiFi reception and hardly be able to connect to any wifi network unless it's in the proximity of the router.
The first two problems can be "easily" fixed by replacing a new digitizer/screen assembly. But the #3 is the most critical issue. If it's not fixable, this phone is pretty much useless to me.
I've read that many people complained about the weak wifi issue on Nexus 5. But mine was very good and always had strong signal before it went swimming. I've tried cleaning up the WiFi/BT circuits and even made sure to have the WiFi/BT antenna on the back cover to have good contact with the contact pin on the main board. But still got weak reception.
Has anyone had similar issue and how to fix weak wifi reception problem? Or where can I get it fixed?
Thanks a bunch!
I bought a cheap screen replacement off eBay for $47. The replacement screen had no copper foil on the back like the original. While reassembling, I broke the top small pin off to the far left of the rear camera.
The phone now has no GPS, extremely weak WiFi ( only works when <5 feet from the router), and Bluetooth signal is extremely weak.
Everything else works fine.
Any idea how I can get GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth working again?

By repairing/fixing it properly? I mean you answered your own question where is the issue. Maybe the shielding also plays into it.
Ok well I guess my questions are:
Has anyone been able to replace the left pin in the picture?
Or been able to rig a substitute?
Does this pin control GPS, Wifi, and Bluetooth?

I think the pin contacts with the battery cover that acts as an antenna, you can try use wire to solder it from the phone to the battery cover to reconnect it.
Wow! I have same problem!
@JKSurf
But in my case: I did screen replacement at mobile store.
About GPS gone - technician said to me, that this is because I have corrosive damage from water in my Oneplus.
I didn't believe him - at home opened the phone - no corrosive damage. But I have this "bridge to antenna" gone like you. I have another Oneplus (for parts only) - there was 2 antennas. So this is definitely the problem.
Did you solved it?
Hey all, new to the forum and new to the shield k1 tablet. Feeling pretty frustrated. Need help. I got the shield delivered from Amazon on Friday the 18th December, nice looking tablet but issue right out the box continues to be wifi connection/signal. I managed to get it connected in the home but if I walk further than a room from the router it disconnects. At first I figured it's our fairly old router but now I've taken the k1 out in public places to connect to wifi and it still fails. At most it "connects" but also displays a exclamation point. Is it a problem I can solve or should it be returned? I've seen some minimal threads with the same problems. Also one other issue is the power on button is flush with tablet itself, not really a deal breaker, just annoying. Thanks for any input.
My Sheild K1 tablet has different wifi issue.
It always connected to my wifi network with
excellent signal strenght. But sometimes the
internet speed drops very low. Normally it connects
at 130 MB/sec and would drop to 6MB/sec.
Rebooting the tablet and give it sometime to return
to normal speed. Also, setting the power/performance to max performance help
to keep the tablet from dropping internet speed.
Just updated this tablet to Android 6.0 and
the wifi connection speed seem to be more stable.
Enjoying the performance of Marshmallow .
Also I keep my tablet inside a protective case.
bump:
I've had similar issue as well. The tablet seems to be able to accept lower strength than other devices. For example, In my bed-room, my phone shows medium signal strength but the tablet only shows low signal strength. and moreover, my phone will still work with when it receive low signal, but my tablet won't work once the wifi signal is low.
I opened back-cover to see if i can make any improvement to the wifi antennas, but I found out that the wifi antennas are built-in to the speaker boxes. Is there any way i can make the tablet receiving better wifi signal? Thanks.
The WiFi antennas **are not** built into the speaker boxes. If you hold the tablet in portrait mode, front camera at the bottom, the antennas are at the top left corner (below the speaker). And if you cover that area with your hand, you'll have a poorer WiFi connection.
Thus the front camera should **never be** at the top when holding the Shield in portrait mode!!
How is everyone finding the S2 bluetooth and wifi connectivity, I find it considerably worse than my old Gear 2.
Bluetooth at best is good for 10 meters with line of sight, but at home barely 5 meters when moving into other rooms.
The WIFI connect is also hopeless can connect when sat in front of the router by move into another room and it's gone.
Done a few wipes and clean installs but issue remains.
Trying to gauge if it's just generally worse or I have an issue.
Be lucky that you have five meters. When i have my phone on my right side and my watch on my left hand both direct next to my i lost the connection.
Oh no sorry to hear, but suspect it's a design issue affecting all S2.
Annoying at with my Gear 2 it was great and I hoped with WIFI it would be even better.
I've NO problems with BlueTooth and/or WiFi on my Gear S2 Classic!
When phone is in the living room, and I'm going upstairs (1st floor) with doors closed, I've still a stable BT-connection!
Much, much, much better then my previous smartwatch: LG Urbane!
Yea I have had no issues with my WiFi or BT. Good connections while at work or home.
No issues here. I home I've never been disconnected aside from the few second switch over from BT to wifi.
At work I leave my phone at my desk and move throughout the large building with no issues from the wifi.
Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
Absolutely no issues here as well. The range actually is longer than any watch I've ever owned.
Thanks think I'll test some more (might be just at home new build so designed like a Faraday cage) then send to Samsung.
Also at my side no problems. BT connection works flawlessly up to around 20 meters in sight or 10-12 with walls between. WiFi is comparable with my Note4.
