It really depends on whether Samsung made any changes to their version of libwebcore.so that break compatibility.
i.e. if it's possible to compile libwebcore.so from any published sources and have it work - The problem is that we don't have the sources to any of the userland stack for our phones.
There are some guys working on a CM7 bringup, once/if that's complete (no ETAs and don't ask, they might run into an insurmountable barrier), mods like this should be a lot easier.

Hey you know i find myself sharing this exact interest as you. Let's collaborate and learn this Create A ROM Project
Notice to see the motivation to create a new ROM.
How good are your Linux skills? If you want to do it all properly I suggest you try and build your own AOSP ROM first (from the Adroid Open Source Project).
This is the place where Google publishes the Android source code files. Actually the site is fantatic and guides you through the entire process, but it does require you to understand the basics of the maketools in Linux.
Once you've been able to compile the source, you'll actually have a perfect stock ROM version of Android. Then, you can start doing advanced things to it. Add a different Kernel, add apps, install tweak scripts etc etc etc, the options are endless.

Good luck and have fun, because it is

[Q] what's the easiest way to join an Android dev team?

Hi,
I would like to join an android dev team, preferably for a device I own.
I have about 4 years of c#/java experience, but would like to up my java/android knowledge!
Ask around for dev teams that are looking for help. Maybe you could find teams that are trying to support multiple devices and give support for the Sensation. Like AOKP for example, or that new SGT ROM.

Help with porting CM

If one were interested in learning how to port cyanogenmod and had minimal experience in coding (aside from some high school courses) where would one find a tutorial or assistance in porting CM to the idol 3? TIA
Hello.
Porting CM ? CM12.1 has already been compiled for our device and it's fully fonctional
Making your own builds is your actual goal,I presume.
Also,do a little exploring before you post a question like this one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/guide-android-rom-development-t2814763
This should be of help as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/guide-build-cm12-source-t3045014
It is pretty much the same for other roms(make a folder for the files, repo init...(specific for the rom, look for it in manifest or build repos of roms github)
Just for myself

Start to learn how to use search menu on XDA, then read, learn and then ask questions
Nobody will give you here a one message course how to get source, compile and build the ROM.

Compile an Android kernel Developer needed

Hi. I found a few Tutorials about Compiling an Android Kernel. I thank all Developers for the Time they spend to do this Tutorial.
I compiled myself an Android kernel for S3 and Oneplus 2.
For me S5 will not work and for a Friend HTC one M8 it´s not Compiling. I had basic question , so i would like to ask if a Developer could spent some Time to explain me from beginning to the end.
If so, an German Developer would be best because I´m from Germany.
I hope someone will give me an Feedback. I look up to you, and i´m desired to learn.
Thx for your answer
No one can help me? Spent a little bit time for me? I will learn it
Can u share your Tutorial?

Hi. Can we talk per pm?
Not simply to say. I know how to get sources. I know how to get toolchain. I know how to set path. Make defconfig, and compile kernel. But i dont understand how to make an older kernel work for newer android version like Samsung s5. I don't know how to make anykernel script.sh
. And last problem if i would not take anykernel, how to get/build updater script and so on that i can make a flashable zip.
If i take a kernel like boeffla, and change zimage, kernel will work. So compiling is ok.
The things around i will lewrn but i don't know how to do this. All sides show only how to build zimage. But you see thats not my problem.
Hope you could help me
