Hi friends,
MHA-L29 8.0.0.374(C185) (UAE OTA UPDATE)
IAM using above version firmware in my device. Unfortunately from yesterday onwards wifi stopped working. Sometimes wifi turns ON & automatically turns off. Sometimes while in this loop phone will automatically restarts (without any Huawei boot sound).
I've tried uninstalling Google play services & reinstalling. Tried wipe cache of Google play services & phones main cache.
Tried downloading stock firmware, but I didn't get original firmware from anywhere.
I don't know what to do next & I'm stuck. ... Any suggestions are most welcome.
Hate to say it, but if you don't find an answer and can't fix it , back up everything and do a factory reset...
I have a similar issue, when I try to turn the wifi on the slider instantly changes to the off position. I've tried uninstalling google play services, booting into safe mode, and a factory reset with no change.
I've tried updating through firmware finder but get an error at the installation stage saying it failed to check the update file. Not sure if it's relevant but I've tried booting into recovery and get an error message there too.

Huawei team also suggested resetting. But I hate that process.
It's a lengthy process & not sure everything will be back as it was. Especially these WhatsApp msgs

Back up whatsapp messages to your Google Drive.
As for the Wi-Fi issue, I'm afraid you'll have to send it in for repairs.
I face wifi issue recently. during some period of time, this phone unable to search for 2.4G wifi.
Do not have problem with 5G wifi.
Reset the modem, power cycle the modem does not help.
Want to back up my phone but now pc cannot detect it.
Anyone facing same problem with me?
WiFi circuits are sensitive to ambient moisture and to changes in temperature. My wife often cooks meals for the weekend. Even relatively small amounts of steam cause various WiFi devices in the house to go nuts. Actually, our mobiles seem relatively stable, but the two modem routers and the two tablets are affected. They usually come back after we dry the air.
So for you mobile, you can follow the classical advice: keep it "submerged" in a bowl of dry rice for a couple of hours.

So, this one is pretty difficult to describe, because of the host of issues that are seeming to plague me right now. To start, my issues began when I got home one day and realized that my play store wasn't working. I'm getting a "No Connection" error when I try to open it, and retrying merits nothing. It wasn't long before I realized the issues I was having weren't just with the play store - I couldn't get to my email, and I noticed that play music keeps trying, and quickly failing, to download songs.
Probably the most mind-boggling part of the issue is web browsing. Sometimes I'll simply get an error saying it can't connect, and sometimes it'll connect and show the site in an odd way: http://i.imgur.com/06PY7yJ.jpg
I've tried a fair few things, but it's hard to know where to start with all the different issues:
Reflashing(CM11)
Confirming the date and time were set correctly
Factory reset
Clearing cache for involved apps
Resetting modem and router
Resetting dalvik cache
If any more info is needed, I'd be glad to give it. I've got no idea how all of these issues are connected, or how to even begin to fix them.
Interestingly, I was able to access the play store for a few minutes earlier today, but I couldn't load any of the sections of the store or download anything. This is incredibly irritating.
You could try Odin flashing 4.1.2 VRBMF1, root/unlock, then see what happens after that.
Did you recently restore your imei? I had a similar issue and drove me crazy for a couple weeks.

Whenever I flash a cm file it screwed my imei up and even after I restored it I had serious connectivity issues.

Basically what the title says. I own a snapdragon P905 version and I'm experiencing sleep of death on the device. It was rooted before but then the problem started ocurring and I did a factory reset but that didn't fix the problem.
Any ideas would be apreciated.
SOLUTION
It seems that reflashing a stock firmware form SAMMOBILE solved the problem for me. At least no problems ocurred since I reflashed it. Cheers, I hope it helps someone else too.
EDIT: Nop, that didn't solve it, the SOD was back after an hour or so... back to the drawing board...
What changed in that hour? Perhaps an application that was recently updated by it's developer is causing issues?

No, BUT, it seems i made a mistake by not wiping the device because, after I used ODIN to flash the alternative firmware my data wasn't deleted and I didn't have to setup the device or my apps.
Note that I have only the bare essentials installed on the tablet (Dolphin browser, facebook, battlefield battlelog, battlefield commander, BS player, splashtop 2, and hancom office - not the viewer).
I've read on some other devices the wifi module causes the SOD, I'll try disabling the wifi first. If that doesn't work I'll try installing TWRP and wiping cache/dalvik to see if that brings me anywhere. If not, I'll start picking off my apps one by one.
I didn't have enough time to do any of the things I said I'd do in the last post BUT, the Sleep Of Death was gone for 3 days untill I installed facebook and dolphin browser yesterday. Now it's back again!? I uninstalled both apps but the SOD is still here. No clue on how it went away on its own, and why it won't go away again...
I'm still looking for some fresh ideas.
EDIT: It seems that factory reset does the job, and I can install my basic apps and it works fine for a day... BUT if I leave it over night I can't turn the screen on in the morning, and the SOD is back every time after that.
EDIT 2: It was the broken micro sd card I frogot I put into the tablet...
Same here. Didn't happen at first. Now when screen goes off, I have to reboot. I am certain I will track this down.... But it's currently frustrating

@canezila - Perhaps a corrupted SD card as noted in cavkic's last update?
I don't believe it is this. As best that I know, it's working well.

Firstly I want to apologize if there's a thread on this. I tried searching and didn't find anything. Google fails me as well.
For a few months now, Chrome has been driving me insane on my stock nordic Z3 (5.0.2 with the .690 firmware). I also have the most recent version of Chrome installed.
Every single time I open the app, it works for about 2 seconds, then completely freezes for around 15 seconds after which a message pops up stating "Chrome is not responding. Would you like to close it?" If I press "OK", it obviously closes the app and the problem appears again when I restart it. If I choose "wait", Chrome works just fine until the next time I open it. EDIT: The freezing problem started happening three times in a row a few days ago.
This happens every single time I open the app, whether launching it or opening it from the recent apps menu.
I'm pretty certain the problem has been around since the v39 build of Chrome, as 38 worked just fine. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it. Uninstalled updates and re-updated it, updating to lollipo didn't help, I also did a completely fresh install today (repairing via Sony Bridge for Mac) and it didn't help either. And apparently I can't go back to v38 anymore since lollipop doesn't seem to support it.
I would really want to use Chrome, as I've gotten used to it and enjoyed it quite a lot. I'd really appreciate the help.

Tried it, sad to say it didn't work either. Interestingly it now does the same 15 second freeze, but without the error message in the end. Curious indeed.
EDIT: Got the error message again.
Does this happen on Wifi or on data?
If on wifi is always the same router?

I Use data 90% of the time, and various routers when on wifi. The problem occurs in all circumstances.
Are you rooted? Unlocked bootloader?
You say you are on the Nordic version of .690, is that the original region for the device you bought and the area you reside in?
Can you revert back to KK by flashing a FTF for your device and region and try V38 again to see if that works still.

I have a completely untouched device. So no root, locked bootloader and it's always been that way. Thus Nordic is the original region of my device.
I'd rather not flash back to kitkat, but I can tell you that I tried reverting back to v38 before updating to lollipop and it worked normally without the freezing issue.
This is my version of chrome on Lollipop. Can you update to this? I am also not rooted so you should be able to update to this

ok without logs I can go no further with this. Is there any chance you can pull some logs off your device?

Maybe try the beta version of chrome in case it's a bug which has been fixed but not yet rolled out to chrome. Perhaps try this first as it'll be quicker!
Perhaps it's some data associated with chrome that's getting pulled down after each restore. Perhaps you can try, on a desktop pc, backing up your bookmarks and then deleting them, and clearing chrome's data on your phone, then trying again? And if that doesn't work try getting rid of extensions (not that I think they should be pulling them down as chrome for android doesn't yet support them, although I'm sure I read years ago that one day they would). And anything else associated with your chrome account.
Another one, perhaps quicker (not sure) would be to see if you can associate your phone with a new google account with no previous chrome use and see if it goes wrong with that one. It would help to rule out account-related problems.
Another possibility is that it's not chrome causing the problem but something it relies on; google play services, for example. Perhaps clear data on any apps chrome could conceivably use.
I'm happy to report that my problem is now solved, though still a giant mystery.
My upper speaker broke and I had to get it replace under warranty. I got insanely lucky as they replaced both front and backside glass pieces, the frame, the screen module itself and of course the speakers. So I've now got a brand-new looking phone So happy.
Anyway, I complained about the software being a mess so they also did a complete reinstall and after that Chrome works absolutely perfectly. As magically does everything else too. Not yet a sign of lollipop's previous lagging and rebooting.
It still bugs me, however, that why would Chrome suddenly start having this unreasonable issue. I had tried everything suggested in this thread and nothing worked. My own clean install didn't work. I'm really quite bothered by this.
Got an unlocked pixel 2 xl from Google running on Sprint, for some reason nothing from the play store downloads. I've deleted the Google account, and signed in again, and with multiple accounts, cleared cache and data and rolled back updates for the play store, and I've switched data connections, different WiFi at different people's houses. I restart the phone randomly with apps pending download and out of nowhere one will download, then it stops and the rest are still pending. What the hell could this be?
Dude I have the same problem!
Clear cache and data didn't work. restarting the phone didn't work. Toggling wifi didn't work. Uninstall update from Play Store didn't work!
After doing all that **** it became even worse.
What a **** phone
I've had this issue with lots of phones/roms. I even contacted support about it when I got my Pixel 2.
Support was worthless.
My issue seemed to stem from my having multiple google accounts. When i factory reset I opted not to put in my password for my 2nd google account, then everything synced and downloaded fine. Once all that was done I manually added my 2nd google account and it worked as normal.
I'm having the same issue.
I've been trying to download a 16mb app for the last 4hrs. Just says downloading...
Pixel 2 XL. 8.1 Oreo. It's so frustrating. The only thing that has worked for me temporarily. Is a factory reset. N days after it's back to square one... I also tried google support. They just piss me off, they all just sound like broken records.
I don't have a clue what to do. N I'm not factory resetting again. They need to fix this.

I have a better solution now than factory reset. Just go into "settings"/"apps & notifications"/"show all apps"/ and then on the right side top "reset apps settings".
But it will only fix it for a while and then this ****ty bug comes back again. I don't know if it's only with Pixel 2 since this is my first android phone, but this isn't what I expected when I came from iphone to Android.

reset App preferences in settings. It's only a temporary solution because the bug will come back again somehow.
I had the same issue, and phone support told me to do a hard reset, shame as it was brand new out of box and a hard reset was needed
This is happening to me as well... I factory reset a few days ago, it was working fine. But now the problem came back again... However, at night when it was on standby, it seem to have updated the apps. But when I try to download anything manually, it will just be stuck on download. I don't wanna factory reset again... Hope there will be a solution soon...
Happening to me too now. Brand New Pixel 2. Any solutions out there?
I had this happen when I first tried setting up my new pixel 2. I restored from an online backup. None of my apps would download. They would just sit there in Pending forever and not download.
I reset the phone and this time, set up as new. Then I tried to download app. Still got stuck in pending.
So I reset AGAIN. And set up as new again, but this time I did the "Trick" to install all those google apps that they recommend (in the setup) and this seemed to work. I could now go into the play store and everything downloaded and I have had no problems since.
Having this issue on my pixel 2 xl. I'll restore a TWRP backup and that sometimes fixes it, but it always comes back. It's wasted so much of my time already. Never had the issue on Pixel XL with nougat. Is there any known fix? (I've tried everything in this thread, nothing worked).
It's not a phone issue, it's not technically a Play Store "issue" - there appears to be a limit to about 2 simultaneous downloads from the Play Store, so if 2 apps are updating and you try to install something, it will stay on "pending" until what you want gets to the head of the queue. (Try not updating for a few weeks, then turn updating on and watch the phone update for hours and hours.) Evidently, Google doesn't want us crashing their servers by trying to download 30 apps at once. I wonder why. (I know why, I was being facetious.) Just keep your eye on the charge (according to all I've been reading recently, 80% is about the most we should charge lithiums to for longest life) and plug the charger in if it gets much below 40%. (And unplug it if it gets to 81%.) Eventually everything will download. (If there's enough, you may want to turn the phone off and go to sleep and continue the next morning. But this is the way it's going to be until someone buys Google a few hundred more servers.)
I am desperate, I can't find the issue here. I have a S10 (Xfinity unlocked on Verizon) , I can't seem to update apps, they get stuck at 100% or 99%, AND some things like Gmail and Instagram do not seem to notify that I am getting messages.
Here's the kicker, I factory reset the phone some 5 times now, and still have the issue. The Reset fixes it for a few days (if even a day) and then the issue starts up again!
the phone was just upgraded to 10, but it was happening on 9 also!
no clue what the problem is ! it kills me! Please anyone have any idea? I even had an authorized Samsung dealer do a "software refresh" and then wiped out the phone again, and I'm still having the same issue..
HELP! please.
thank you

Boot into safe mode, it will only load your system apps and not your user apps. Then try to update your apps, if it works then you know the issue is being cause one of your user apps. Then you just need to identify which user app is the offending app.
It also might be caused by a conflict between various settings or maybe you have some things disabled or turned off that are causing this.

That kinda works.. but again, as said, I have reloaded the phone over and over, and it works fine, until a few days later and stars over.. And updating is not the only problem, Geolocating is slow, sluggish or not working sometimes, Push updates of emails are slower or not happening. just weird things..
I am not sure what it could be! its like the phone is the problem!

Ok, everything I posted went completely over your head, I'll try again.
If it is working like it is supposed to while in safe mode(which is only loaded with system apps and system settings and not any of your user apps or data) that tells you that the issue is caused by some user app that you have installed or something in your user settings. In other other words, it is very likely something that you, as the user, have installed or setup/selected, it is probably not the device. It keeps happening after resetting because you are not changing what you are doing that it is causing it, it is something that you keep returning to after resetting the device. You just need to figure out which user app is causing the issue or whatever settings are causing the issue.
The way to do that will be trial and error. Uninstall one of the apps that you have installed, then use the device for a few hours, if the issue continues, that wasn't the app causing the issue, reinstall that app then choose another user app to uninstall and then use the device for a few hours, if the issue continues, that is t the app, reinstall that app, and so on and so on, etc... Get the picture? When you uninstall an app and the issue stops, the last app uninstalled is probably the app causing the issue.
I suggest resetting the device again. Then, only install one of your usual apps but don't install any others and don't change any settings, use the device a while, if the issue does not occur, install another one of your usual apps but don't install any others, basically, install one app at a time until the issue occurs, when it does, the last app installed is probably the offending app.
Or, if you don't find it that way and you get all of your usual apps installed without triggering the issue during the trial and error process, then you need to go through settings by trial and error. Changing one setting at a time and using the device a while to see if the issue occurs, if it does, it probably has something to do with the last setting that you changed before the issue occured.
Slowly changing one thing at a time over an extended amount with time between each change, will allow you to isolate exactly which app or setting is causing the issue.
Or maybe you need to flash your stock firmware via PC tools to start over with a clean installation.
