Hello!
I just got my OP6 and when transfering my music I realised I have no music player. All other alternatives are rubbish in my opinion, and the Samsung Music app is the best music player I think ever existed on mobile.
Since I can't get it from Google Play (non-Samsung devices are restricted) I tried extracting it from my old S6 from priv-app. Installing normally on the OP6 returns an "Installation failed" prompt.
I moved the APK and all libraries to OP6's priv-app, the app showed up however it instantly crashes. Logcat gives some error "Samsung SDK not found" or something similar to this.
How can I get the music player on other devices?
Thank you!
Poweramp it's the best player. It's paid but it's the best. VLC player for videos and also music, the best of free options. Look no further.

So, I just got my HD MAXX on Monday and I am definitely enjoying the battery life compared to my Nexus that I used to have.
I have just started to play around with some of the SmartActions that this phone will allow. However, I have encountered an issue regarding one of the settings.
If I try to set up a trigger to "Play Music"....I get the following screen:
No playlists found. You can add and manage playlists from most music player apps downloadable from the Google Play Store.
Now, all I have as my player is Google Play Music (which has plenty of playlists in it). Both the SmartAction app and the Play Music app are the current updates.
Is this a known issue? Is there a way to get a SmartAction to use (the stock music app) Google Play Music?
.....crickets?...
Is anyone else having this same issue at least?
yuup me too men.

The MX player is obligating to install goglepley for run?
Really, i won't continue using,
1 because the player is dependant of this ridiculous stock mediascanner.
2 now they're obligating this?
MX PLAYER IS NEVER THE ORIGINAL LINUX MPLAYER.
Hm.

In order to validate a Pro license purchased from Google Play, it needs Google Play. Google doesn't provide any other way to validate the license. If you have purchased Pro version from MX Player website there is no need of Google Play at all.
Free version doesn't need Google Play. It will work with any device.
Kindly note that Amazon devices are using different/modified Andeoid Account Management System. So, MX Player Pro won't work with Amazon devices even if you have purchased from Amazon stire. Free version is the only option.

MX Player initially uses mediascanner database to determine the known media folders in order to boost launch speed. Then, scans the known media folders at every launch. You can just force for a through scan by either tapping on refresh button or just pull down the list to refresh (in the recent 1.8.x). It will scan sdcard completely.

Hello, i'm going for a nexus 5 (in 2 days) and leaving my Samsung S3 mini.
Google Play Music doesn't quite do the job I need for music. I loved the Samsung and BQ stock app, and now i'm looking for a good music player, but it must have network support - for playing files from my PC or NAS media server.
I have tried rocket player, which I liked for the simplicity (and folder selection), but no network support at all.
Does anyone know any good app for my needs? Thank you in advance!

Thank you, but that doesn't work for me. It has to be one (like the stock players I wrote) that works seamlessly with several media servers like windows media server, or twonky server (NAS). My S3 mini stock player does that just fine, I tested a BQ Aquarius e5HD and also works well...
I have a NAS also for not needing the pc up and running when I want to retrieve music from a portable device.
So, still trying to find the right app...

soumi music player, its a basic one, you can cache playlists to your phone so you can play without being connected,
the only downside is the music player wont show up on lockscreen, you need to go in the app to access controls.
it will generate a database and you can search on it
Why don't you pull the stock music player app from the Samsung?
If I'm not mistaken, Neutron should also connect to a NAS just fine.
Hello,
I have used MX player for a long time as my default to open and watch videos found on line for my Samsung Galaxy S4. Suddenly any video I try to watch is not opening in MX player even though it was still listed as my default. I have seen times in the past where the phone prompts me to choose a player before playing a video and give me the option of once again naming MX as my default but now the video will play without using MX player or giving me the option to choose it. And of course I hate whatever player it is using (no pinch to zoom, etc.) I tried uninstalling MX and reinstalling from the play store but that didn't do it.
Could a setting have been changed somewhere or something blocking the player from opening?
I also have an android tablet I can't get to play videos in MX player but I could always get my phone to work. Just click the video on line and it opened in MX.
Can you help?
Thanks!
Can you post error logs using the Bug Report function in the MX menu?
If you are streaming videos, a sample URL would help diagnose the issue.
Did you recently upgrade the firmware? Stock or custom ROM?
I don't think I did anything different than I always do. Find any video I want to watch on line hit play it opens in MX player or offers me a choice for how I want to play it and I select MX player. Phone has stpped doing that without explanation. Videos are playing just not with MX player.
A sample URL would still help, just in case.
Also: "Did you recently upgrade the firmware? Stock or custom ROM?"
Please answer this question. Additionally, which version of the S4 is this? Europe? T-Mobile? etc.
And finally, the error logs should still be collected, as it may contain error codes. The description you just gave doesn't really give much useful information for the developer to work with.
I didn't upgrade anything I am aware of in my phone. It has just stopped opening videos in MX player that I am clicking on line to play.
It's an At&T S4 I believe that's the 337? USA.
No idea how to get the error logs or what you meant by stock or custom ROM. Do you mean did I do anything special to my phone? No. Same phone for 1.5 years out of the box.
As for URL...pick anyone you like. Doesn't matter what I watch or where I watch it. Any internet video I click on is not opening or even prompting me to watch it in MX anymore. Something is blocking it or a setting is changed somewhere. Could it be a security app?
My 4 month old Samsung tablet I bought at Costco same thing. But the phone always worked.
In terms of collecting an error, log, take a look at this guidance thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/guide-how-to-collect-logcat-report-bug-t2843144
When I say stock vs custom ROM, if it's 100% out of the box, then you are on the stock ROM; stock means "original manufacterer's" in this context.
Forum,
I acquired an XZP and I can't play music using the default app. When I want to listen to an album, it simply steps to the next song in about 25 seconds, so I can't listen any album. I have tried to install this app musix post however android told me that there is a conflict and it will not install the app.
This is regarding drm? I have never face this problem before. Thank you! Regards!
what kind of files are they? have you tried using google music to listen to the local files?
hi! they are just mp3 files. nothing weird. I didn't tried google play because a friend told me he has the same problem as me with the drm and they cannot play the files.
Poweramp works fine on my XZP and can find and play Amazon and Play Music (on SD card) files. Local Prime Music files have DRM, though.

Just to give an update: I have tried to play some mp3 and suddenly a warning come up stating "cannot reproduce audio". Restarted the phone (I already did a lot of times before in order to "solve" the problem) and then started to work. Now I can play the entire track without any problem. Magic? Luck? Whatever now it is working fine. Regards!
