Hello,
If you want to flash any firmwares with TWRP, you must use this method: HuRUpdater > https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
You can only flash "PV" firmwares with TWRP alone.

i've been scrambling to find some old firmware every time my phone stopped working and then update through OTA's. Finally i'm able to update my phone whenever i want to

Hello!
I own a FRD-L19C432 device loaded with B120 FW, TWRP flashed to erecovery, the recovery partition is stock (?) since I haven't flashed anything on it and it is also rooted.
A few days ago, I got the notification of the availability of B131 update. According to some info I've read over the web, the erecovery isn't/wasn't used for anything, so I tried my luck and proceeded with updating operation from UI. It booted to recovery, failed to install, showed some error and booted to OS, that stills on B120.
Introduction made, the question is:
I already downloaded the FRD-L19C432B131 full update zip, can I simply flash it through the dload method, or, must I first unroot and flash stock B120 recovery in order to perform the dload flash?
If so, where can I get the B120 stock recovery and erecovery? I'm not finding it while using the Firmware Finder app by Team MT.
Hope you can give some help.
Tks,
RM
you can extract the recovery.img using huawei update extractor and then flash via adb or the multitool

Stock recovery from B120, right? If so, where can I find this recovery since I'm not finding the full B120 FW zip?

It's weird and sad to hear that you flashed twrp to erecovery.
Let me explain u briefly what erecovery does . when u use dload method (while flashing an update.app) , erecovery extracts all .img and .bin files and later it flashes the each file (image files) to its respective partition .
In ur case. The normal stock recovery flashed the update.zip which was included in the script . but it failed to extract update.app in the update.zip and finally output u got is error.
Solution:
The only solution for this problem is ..
Download a full update package of stock ROM...
Extract Update.app (use huawei update extractor) and then find erecovery.IMG
Install adb and fastboot drivers ..
Put your phone in fastboot mode .
Connect to PC ..
In the terminal (command prompt) , type this command and hit enter .
fastboot flash erecovery erecovery.img
(From here u can reinstall the update.zip ) if it fails .
And then try to shutdown the phone , later put full update.app in dload folder ..
Use the 3 button combination to install full package of update.app and thats it .
It reboots to stock again .besure to take a backup of your data before attempting above step . after everything done check for update from settings and install it normally
hello!
Thanks for a proper answer
At the moment I'm stuck (paused) at the TWRP backup operation, since I don't seem to be able to perform a full back to internal storage (with the previous NEXUS phones I owned it was possible...) I need first to get an USB-C adapter in order to use USB OTG to perform the safety backup.
After That I'll flash B120 stock recovery and erecovery, unroot and dload the new FW version.
Meanwhile, another question: Using the FW Finder APP from Team MT on Windows it gets a FRD-L19C432B131 result, while on the Android version of the same AP it only finds B130, not B131 (?). On the other hand, I can only find the B120 full FW over Android APP, and don't seem to find it while using Windows... Any idea why this occurs?

Hello!
Task accomplished! TWRP full backup made, flashed stock recoveries from B120 and after that flashed B131 update.app though dload method.
Everything went OK except for the fact I got bootloader relocked after the second flash. I miss the simplicity of the Nexus devices...
With the TWRP backup made before I was able to restore most of the definitions though. It would be nice to digg a workaround to flash update.app without getting bootloader relocked...
I wonder if extracting boot, system and recoveries IMGs and flash all this through fastboot wouldn't work!? Did anyone tried?

Hi,
I've bricked my Honor 8 (no OS installed). Have a TWRP, unlocked bootloader, but when go to fastboot mode there is a text "FRP locked", can't flash by adb&fastboot (command not allowed). Every times I want to update by dload folder instalation is failed. I don't know what to do.
Please help
Have you tried to flash the rollback to Marshmallow package followed by the stock room itself via dload?
Does your TWRP work properly? In case it does, try to flash a custom rom.

I haven't tried yet, but i've tried flash b101, b360 and b389 firmware (which i have before it bricked). TWRP is working I think, but every try to flash rom is failed. I tried to flash lineage rom, but don't know it is a best choice.

hey guys
i tried to update my mate 8. was on b581 and would like to update it to 582. i used an stock-like fw with magisk root and k-settings.
first i tried to flash the stock rom, to simply update the firmware over ota. ended with an error.
then i flashed twrp and did (yes, im an idiot xD) an format data.
now i didnt know, what i can flash to get the stock firmware back... at my point, i have twrp and no system.
thanks a lot for any help
Hi guys
So i created quite a mess here..
Device:
Mate 9 L09C432
I had RomAur B197 installed.
Then i tried to somehow get to oreo.
I was able to flash the newest oreo stock firmware with HWOTA tool and it worked but it was unrooted & locked i guess.
So i unlocked it again and flashed twrp 3.2.1-0 fromfuture edition.
Seems like the data was decrypted, i just saw strange filename, so i wiped data, what actually helped.
Unfortunately this somehow broke the system and starting the os caused a bootloop.
Then i discovered that MTP was not working in TWRP so i flashed TWRP 3.2.1-0 by Pretoriano80.
With this recovery MTP was working so i tried to flash an OS somehow.
I tried to flash the stock firmware again with HWOTA8 but it failed at the update.zip
Manual flash in twrp also fails for that update.zip.
I also tried to flash a treble rom from a german forum.
After that twrp was not starting anymore (bootloop).
So back to twrp by fromfuture where MTP is not working, good that i have an SD card.
And i once wiped system because the space was 0mb after that it was fine again.
TWRP gives the following for the update.zip file:
Code:
...
write radio image...
check_write_data_to_partition,write data error update_huawei_pkd_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed.
E:unknown dommand [errno]
update process ended wit ERROR: 9
Error installing zip file...
So yeah im a bit out of ideas..
Any ideas are welcome
Thanks
Your mistake is trying to flash a custom rom using TWRP. Most treble/Oreo roms can not be flashed with TRWP. Upgrading to Oreo changes the partitions on the device and that may have caused your issue. My advice would be to download the Huawei update extractor and your current firmware. Open up the extractor and extract the recovery ramdisk. Flash the stock recovery via fastboot. Once you have the stock recovery back. Download the Carbonromv4 from openkirin.net and flash that. That you should get you back up and running. Search XDA for how to install a generic treble system img or check the support page on the Openkirin site for instructions.
Thanks for this advice, everything worked
It was that easy but I just didn't know before..
anyways thanks a lot!

Glad to hear it worked for you! The treble roms work really well and if you are looking for a better camera try the P20 camera port. You will have to re-flash TWRP to install it, but you can then flash the stock recovery back.
Hi folks.
This is a solution for who get troubles when you flash my own ROMs, it is all about Emui 8 related firmware because they denies the permissions to flash custom roms / root in the latest firmware like AL00XB335, C432B360/B375 or newer, here is a small tutorial to solve this issue once for all by downgrade to the earlier firmware which xLoader.img still present.
Note: this tutorial is for Honor 8 Lite and P8 Lite 2017, for other devices make sure to downgrade to older versions.
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader.
TWRP, use Honor 9 Lite 0.2 Test build, click here.
NoCheck Oreo Recovery, click here.
Your device should be updated to the latest Emui 8.x versions that generate E1001 Errors.
OEMInfo Dual Sim Devices Only (Since most of you are ds):
AL00X.
C432.
PRA-AL00XC00B310:
update.zip .
update_data_full_public.zip .
update_full_PRA-AL00X_all_cn.zip .
Installation Guide:
Reboot to the TWRP.
Flash the NoCheck Recovery.
Run in the terminal (from adb shell is better)
Note: please flash those package once per time I mean that once you flash update.zip and boot the rom (in case of bootloop just check bootloader status and run factory reset) then reboot to fastboot and flash TWRP again then re-install nocheck recovery via TWRP and do same steps for other 2 packages .
echo –update_package=/sdcard/update.zip > /cache/recovery/command
echo –update_package=/sdcard/update_data_full_public.zip > /cache/recovery/command
echo –update_package=/sdcard/update_full_PRA-AL00X_all_cn.zip > /cache/recovery/command
PRA-LX1C432B321:
update.zip .
update_data_full_public.zip
update_full_PRA-L11_hw_eu.zip .

Thank you mate.
