Hi,
New to LG G5. Bought from eBay with a modified ROM H83020i_un. My goal is to get to run Nougat with root. I have read a few threads and it seems the steps would be.
1. Install 20a. This is the last version I can install TWRP and root. Instruction is [STOCK][N][ARB01] H830 20A ROM + Flashable ZIPs + IMGs + KDZ
2. Unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and root. Instructions are now with TWRP!
3. Disable OTA update as it will break my phone. The instruction is in LG G5 ALL-IN-ONE THREAD in the section of "Disable OTAs"
4. Upgrade to the latest Nougat. Instructions for 20k is [STOCK][N][ARB01] H830 20k ZIPs + IMGs + KDZ (2017-07-01 Security Patch), following Install via TWRP Directions -> Stock ROOTED
In the event I would need to stock, it appears flashing via LG tool will just replace TWRP.
Is my understanding correct?
Thanks
Several people asked for the F800L extracted KDZ.
This zip can not be flashed in TWRP, it is folks that want to get their hands on the firmware or system and couldn't extract it: f800l.zip

can it be rooted?
Already posted it in another thread but had no luck with answers I guess this a better place to ask
So here we go:
I have a f800l lg v20 not Rooted
Android 7.0
Updated security patch 1st september 2016
Kernel 3.18.31
Build no Nrd90m
Software version F800L 10g
My question is that can I update my Android to Oreo 8.0 which is available via Software update and then gain root access? If no, what is the last update limit for me to not lose rooting possibility. Or is it possible to downgrade to a previous update state after updating it to either Oreo 8.0 or other updated security patch levels? What would you suggest? I've heard Oreo is good with little battery drainage percentage as compared to Nougat which is my primary interest. I don't want to make a move to lose my rooting ability. Are there any other means available to upgrade to oreo without using lg software update in order to achieve both Oreo and root? And if it is not possible to achieve both Oreo and root are there any custom roms or kernels available with good battery drainage percentage? What would suit me the best. Sorry in advance for asking so many questions and not knowing if these questions have already been discussed and answered.
Thank you
well if someone here that knows how to make zip, you can make a flashable rooted f800 series oreo rom.
Just change the 2 things in the full dump.
1. stock aboot changed to dirtysanta eng aboot
2. stock boot changed to magisk patched stock boot.
The rest of the files should be all unchanged.

Need help ?
More info ?
Comment Below !
You might like to directly flash the NPJS25.93-14-18 April 2018 stock firmware after flashing the April 2018 GPT and bootloader, and not advise to flash older firmware. The reason is the April 2018 GPT/bootloader is from the NPJS25.93-14-18 firmware, so you're not mixing and matching GPT, bootloaders and firmware - if you are mix and matching firmware, that may lead to more bricking if you're not careful. Link to the NPJS25.93-14-18 firmware https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
Of course, if you flashed the Oreo soak test at any point using the OTA updates, this procedure may not work. If you used the TWRP flashable, you may be okay if you did not use the Oreo OTA update - TWRP flashables don't update the bootloader. The Oreo OTA would update your bootloader to Oreo, which we don't have the GPT/bootloader files for yet.

Hi Community.
Is possibile to root stock firmware v30c?
Android 10 Q
Brand TIM (Italy)
I found on xda a list of patched boot.img but outdated (v20x)
My last experience on rooting/custom rom flashing was about 3 years ago with Samsung Note 3 and odin software; these "new" procedures are harder for my understanding.
Thank you for your attention
have you unlocked bootloader ?

Hi clitheroe1,
Thank you very much.
I'll try it soon.
I flashed an Open EU stock rom (v30b) last summer because TIM is so much slow with updates, but I don't want to see imei/firmware error message on boot anymore.

1. Install magisk manager
2. Boot into 9008 mode
3. Backup your boot_a image using Qfil (Read data)
4. Copy it to your phone
5. Rename it to boot_a.img
6. Go in magisk manager —-> install —-> Select and patch an image —-> select the image.
7. Copy the patched boot image file to your PC (its located in downloads folder in your phone)
8. Flash it with fastboot/qfil ( fastboot flash boot_a < drag and drop over the cmd the image > // select boot_a and load image in qfil)
Hey Folks,
I'm having trouble finding a boot.img for Magisk for the LG G7 LM-G710EMW Australian variant running Android 10 (V30e-AUS-XX).
Before I start just trying random downloads, I thought I'd ask if anyone has one that I could use? Or could point me to a guide to create my own. It'd be for the G710EMW30e_00_0105.kdz.
Many thanks
You need the AP part of your downloaded stock rom.
The whole AP is normally patched by and for Magisk .... you can also extract the boot.img from the AP part by removing .gz. selecting the boot.img and then extract it from the tar file. Instructions on the Magisk website.
