Could be, If only there was a bit more detail.
Does anybody know what the price will be within the US?
Also, should I wait a month for the price to drop? (I heard it drops after a month)... first time buying a phone out right

Sweet jesus!.. I thought these new phones start around 599.
Do you have to buy from an "authorized dealer" for Samsung to cover the phone for the warranty?

Samsung doesn't really warranty unlocked phones sold in the U.S. as they aren't really meant for U.S. retail sale.
Your best bet is just buying one outright from your carrier, Best Buy (for their warranty), or putting it on your home owner's insurance policy. You can even buy 3rd party insurance like SquareTrade.

This came up in another thread and my personal thoughts about Expansys is to wait a bit until they get their information about what they will send and when they will send it more correct. They have failed to reply to my Email (over 4 days now) about verifying the exact model #s and capabilities of the S4s they are going to sell. Do what you want, but I'm going to buy from an authorized dealer (AT&T, Best Buys, Radio shack, etc...). There are reputable dealers that use Amazon (and I presume Ebay) but I'm not going to take a chance with this kind of money.
Close to launch day, and still no news about availibility on Amazon!

So if you buy from Bestbuy unlocked phone, the warranty is from Best Buy and not Samsung? I believe this will come from third party companies, much like Best Buy extended warranty.
Now I'm curious, if I buy from Bestbuy using my American Express card, will I get the extended warranty from American Express?
S4 begin to be available in France, but still no news from Amazon :crying:
Amazon Germany is clueless as always with mobile releases.....
Not always! I had the HTC One before everyone in France ordered on amazon.de
Did someone receive the S4 from Amazon europe?
can someone tell me where can i find the phone in uk online or in stores near london without being in a monthly contract. its out of stock everywhere
I canceled my order on Amazon and purchased the phone directly from the Samsung Mobile Store in Paris, why should I wait when a physical shop had it available nearby ? Amazon just weren't fast enough to my tastes.
Phone is now "in stock" in Amazon.fr
I'd like to get opinions on the best website to order a Galaxy Note Edge/any cellphone from ?
Personal preferences would be:
- retailer wouldn't try to repackage and sell a returned/used cell phone as "new"
- has a good track record and reputation amongst customers
- keeps the customers up to date on current status of order/preorder(example: availability, current status, tracking information, etc.)
I previously considered Negri Electronics(www.negrielectronics.com), but I see that the owner sold the company late last year and it seems the website is no longer functioning for the past few days(or maybe it's just down).
Thanks in advance for your replies!

This will be my 5 th device ordered on www.clove.co.uk . Never had a problem , pretty happy with it .
I've already placed a pre-order for a black Edge

Thanks Tossero for the info and link. I've heard about Clove a few times before. I've never directly ordered from a retailer outside of the U.S.(where I am located). I did however receive an iPad direct from China but I had ordered from the Apple Store online.
Do you live in the same country as Clove ?

Thanks Tossero. I'm putting Clove on my list as a possible retailer to buy from. Any other users from the United States purchase from Clove before ?
*Since September 2013, Samsung have implemented a 'region lock' on all new stock. Clove Technology only have access to the “European” models of new Samsung stock. The compatible countries are listed at the end of the product description.
All member states of the E.E.A and the following additional territories: Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R.O.M), Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Serbia and Vatican City.
So Clove will not work for us north americans (I'm from Canada)
Wow, looks like I dodged a bullet there. Thanks for the very helpful info iZack187. I had no clue about this and was really considering that company.
Just received from clove:
Recently you placed an order for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge - Black that was on pre-order and didn't have a price.
The product release date has now been confirmed as mid October and the price is £541.67 + vat.
If you would like to now pay for your complete order then please follow the link below.

That's very useful info -- now we know it will at least be released mid October in certain parts of the world. This is good because I'm hoping it will arrive here in the U.S. before November.

Indeed... as much as I would love to believe that... Samsung did specify that the Note Edge will come at a premium price, and 541 euros does not sound premium at all... I'm expecting between 900 and 1200 USD$...

Yes i did google research and found out bad esn phone can works normal outside USA.
This thread is for Europe pre-orders
Just ordered 64gb Orchid Gray S8. Decided on S8 rather than S8+ I figured a 5.7" screen was big enough!
This is my first ever Samsung phone, coming from OnePlus 3T. Really like the screens they are amazing.
Would be interested to know more about the processor and if bootloader will be unlockable like US versions. Actually with the 3T I just kept it locked and stock as well.
The US versions will be unlockable? What's your source on that? Word has been they will continue to lock all North American Snapdragons as has been their recent policy. The international on the other hand has remained unlockable and the conventional wisdom is it will remain so for the time being.
Where did you buy?
For the US version, I was looking at threads here, but admit did not go into a lot of detail in them. I bought directly from Samsung. I dislike carphone warehouse I had a pre-order for an HTC 10 with them, decided to cancel. What they didn't tell me at time of canceling was rather than getting automatically re-funded I got credit instead. I was just inside the window to get the money charged back to my account.
Also decided to go for the orchid grey as it looked amazing as well!
I'll wait three months or four. Then i might get the S8!
I was told by many stores that you can test the S8 and S8+ yourself beginning tomorrow 31.03.2017.
Sadly no promotions for us in Europe at all. Asked many stores across Germany, Switzerland, Austria as well as UK.

Ordered both from Samsung shop UK (wasn't sure what size I wanted) but noticed CPW in the uk were offering a free Bluetooth speaker with pre orders (Don't need one but it's free, and more than samsung are offering)
So decided to cancel both my samsung pre orders and just ordered the S8 from CPW with free gift.

I have gone for the S8+ through O2 and you get a free speaker with them. Went into their store today and had a play on the S8 and S8+. Glad I have gone for the latter as it isn't as big as I feared. The size is actually really nice and both models look even more stunning in person.

Hi, I've found an Indian version but am worried the import tax is gonna be massive...they're selling it for £650 so how can I calculate the import fee?
There are a few online calculators that you can try.
But, at a minimum, you'd pay 20% VAT plus the handling charge - so you're talking ballpark another £140 on top.
Plus, depending on the tariff code for mobile phones, there may be an additional duty on top of that but ti's hard to get a definitive answer about that online.
Hi,
I bought from UK and used a firm on ebay based from Ireland.
If you can just avoid Norway, Switzerland, India and Hong Kong as all will have a lot of import duty.
If you buy from an Irish based company on ebay you pay the conversion rate (Usually on Paypal) and that's it. No import duties.

That's not entirely correct.
Switzerland, whilst not part of the EU, is part of a larger European Customs Union, meaning that goods imported/exported between Switzerland and the rest of the EU are treated the same as if it were between EU member states.
I'm not sure about Norway but I wouldn't be surprised if the same were true.

When I checked we apparently still had to play customs duty which is still a considerable amount of money.
"Customs Regulations. As mentioned above, because Switzerland is not an active member of the EU, all imported goods have to be customs-cleared. In most cases this mean that you are subject to paying duty on your import from Switzerland, and the amount will vary depending on the specific type of goods you are importing."
Buying from Ireland to the UK is the best bet and is cheaper.

I'm going by based on the Governments stance on it all.
Sometimes countries will misvalue the item being set or say it's a gift on the shipping information to avoid the duty.
The only times duty is usually charged is when it is truly exported from a place like Switzerland to the UK (It will usually be on the outside of the package)
Also https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad
It mentions that even though other Countries are not in the EU they are in the EEA but it doesn't go both ways. This means for small time consumers they still have to pay import from these non-eu countries.
You may be lucky and have it sent as a gift though.

well we'll find out some time in the future cause I ordered an HK one from ireland
Ugh I ordered last Thursday but the seller is shipping today and says it will take 6-8 days to get to me *rolls eyes*
Yep got the nex s HK today after dpd messed up with the delivery yesterday, can also confirm that is basically the international version
Mine arrived on Friday, didn't get a chance to spend much time with it until today though.
Same story, it actually was the HK version, not just a Chinese one with Google Play installed - EAN on the box matched, no Vivo account needed, most of the Chinese bloat removed.
Spent today ADBing some of the remaining bloat, installing Nova, GCam etc.
Really pleased, seems like a decent successor to my OG Mi Mix.
Something I noticed with gcam is if the hdr isn't on, it would take the picture and then "boil" it 1 second later
Which GCam version are you using?
The one that was recommended in the other thread?
Guys, I don't know... Do I have to pay an import tax from India to the UK? I know that before it was necessary to pay, but I read that today you do not need to pay. I don't think this is true, so I hope you can help me with some tips. I even found an online tax service because recently I have too many issues with taxes. I think this is really very easy and convenient because you just need to message and you will immediately receive the necessary response. In addition, this company has excellent reviews on the account of filing taxes. I hope they will help me.
