This needs tested as I have no way of test V6 Bootloaders
If your already on OREO then then the google drive mirror is working for the ODIN_ADB_G935_CRE7_BL_V6.zip if someone wants to test for me
I don't know if I want to try this because I really didn't like safestrap on Verizon on the s5

Maybe your under a misunderstanding of what this is. There is no root for oreo. There are no custom roms. Safestrap allows you to modify this stock rom by being able to flash certain zips, install xposed or delete and add stuff to system folders. There are basically 2 options 100% stock or this modified stock rom with the ability to customize

Quick question, would I be able to use this on another carrier (as in Verizon) since i have this phone stuck on this bootloader not having Sprint service. If not would this be possible so I could use my active verizon service with this rom, thank you.

This is the leaked Oreo for the ATT S7 I removed all ATT stuff and fix volte calling but wificalling does not work at the moment. This is For S7 Only. It has option to choose your carrier csc files
Download:
OREO_G930_CRB9_ALL_CARRIERS_FF_INSTALL.zip
Directions:
Just note that you may end up having to wipe your internal storage so be prepared
You can try coming from your carriers firmware but if it dont work then you will need too be on Verizon Firmware either Nougat stock rooted or one of my Hybrid roms or stang5litre Nougat rom
You must be rooted with Flashfire installed
Download OREO_ALL_CARRIERS_FF_INSTALL_G935.zip and unzip Copy FF_Oreo_System_Image_G930_CRB9.tar To Internal Phone Storage
In Flashfire select add zip choose OREO_ALL_CARRIERS_G930_V2.zip select to mount system when it ask
In Flashfire select add firmware choose FF_Oreo_System_Image_G930_CRB9.tar and select system.img.ext4
Make sure inject superu is not enabled
Click to reboot to download after flash
Add Wipe choose system, data, cache and dalvik and super su images
Flash
In aroma installer choose your carrier
When Phone reboots to recovery use odin and flash BL_OREO_G930_PART_2.tar in BL slot in odin that is provided in folder
You get corrupt storage message and will have to click reset and this will wipe your internal storage
Features:
Custom Boot Animation
Add spam call blocking
Added call recording however there is no record button on call screen but auto record feature works
Added Samsung Cloud support
Added multi user suport
Added option for network speed in status bar
Removed Unneeded files and bloat
Samsung Pay works as does Secure Folder
Safetynet only partially passes this is problem with the build as even installing on stock ATT firmware it still only partially passes
Verzion Volte calling works but WifiCalling does not (other carriers I cannot confirm)
Verizon VVM works
Bugs:
BT call volume will not change Media volume seems too work fine though
Im sure there are more as this is prerelease

I didn't think of that at the time so I just went back to your hybrid rom because my phone was becoming unusable
I just installed this rom going from "stang5litre Edition 5.0 s7 N v1".
At first the Gmail and a game app kept crashing. (They were apps that were installed while on stang5litre Edition 5.0 s7 N v1)
I did a "Wipe data/factory reset" from recovery, updated all the apps from the playstore and now nothing is crashing.
Edit: Spoke too soon... Dune game is crashing after every round.

So did you not wipe with flashfire when installing? And once you wiped basic rom worked fine? I can't control 3rd party apps that's an issue with maker of app. Also are you Verizon?

Yes, I wiped with flashfire when installing. The rom seems smooth with no lag, just that 1 app crashing.

Instructions For Installing Pie Roms
Please Note This Is Not A Root Method For Oreo Or Pie. As Of Now There Is Still No Root Method For Oreo Or Pie. This Takes Some Patience To InstallS8+ SM-G955U/U1/W Install Instructions And Files
If you didnt upgrade to V8 bootloaders using odin. I recommend flashing full stock firmware with V8 bootloaders even if you are already on V8 bootloader via OTA update. I feel that maybe something in the OTA from V7 bootloaders to V8 may have corrupted a bootloader file and some people have experienced bricks with trying to update to V8 bootloaders from V7 using the below method so I recommend flashing full stock V8 firmware in Odin before trying this method and just understand there has been a risk of bricking device. Full stock can be found on Sammobile or updato or any other service you can find it. You will have to reroot of course. If you Updated to V8 bootloaders using odin method already then no need to do so again

In odin load BL_DELETE_CACHE_G95*_V*_BL.tar.md5 in BL slot and flash6. If still after several attempts reboot to download mode and In odin load BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G95*U_V*.tar.md5 in BL slot and flash. Phone reboot to stock recovery there wipe cache and reboot back to bootloader from recovery and go back and start again from step 8 You cannot move on until you get that error screen

Phone will reboot to recovery and process cache then your ready to flash an OTA update zip in stock recovery. If you get an Error(Click For Pic) in stock recovery and phone does not automatically reboot at this point wait until recovery options come up and wipe cache in stock recovery reboot from recovery to bootloaders and repeat step 7.9. It should then process csc fine this time and from recovery phone should reboot automatically. If for some reason this still fails start from Step 5 again.

5. Flash BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G95*U_V*.tar[.md5/COLOR] in odin phone will reboot to recovery6. In recovery wipe cache then from recovery reboot to bootloader7. Use modded Odin and load BL_G95*_CS**_V*.tar.md5 In BL Slot, AP_CR**.tar(This is the file you will get from the OTA_Update_Zips) in AP Slot and flash (Or file you created from update zip or leave AP slot blank if you didn't update via OTA 8. As soon as phone powers off force reboot to recovery. If you get an Error(Click For Pic) in stock recovery instead of No Command(Click For Pic) and phone says dm verity failed reboot from recovery to bootloaders and start on step 3 in To Enter And Exit Safestrap9. If you get the No Command(Click For Pic) and it says successfully verified dmverity hashtree(It may not say this until you click reboot system) (Click For Pic) Wipe cache in recovery then reboot and you are done unless below statement refers to you then follow then skip cache wipe and reboot and follow below. If you came to these instructions because you were directed to do so during install because you installed SM_955_U_Mods_Safe_OTA_PIE.zip during initial install then you will need to flash the BL_G95*USQS5****tar.md5 found in the Samfail Install Files folder so in recovery click reboot bootloader and in odin BL slot flash BL_G95*USQS5****tar.md5. boot phone back up to system
you will have 2 apps in your apps drawer Host Adblocking and Stock Adblocking
too enable adblocking run the Host Adblocking app it may require rebooting phone to work
too disable adblocking run Stock Adblocking this probably will not require a reboot
what this does is move the system/etc/hosts file to the internal storage of your phone then I symliink the one in the internal storage to the system/etc/host file this way the file can be changed back and forth . If you would wipe data in stock recovery however you would need to reflash the zip in safetrap as a data wipe would delete the host file since it is now located on internal storage

just to verify, battery is 80 or 100?
Hey jr I tried the stock version 3 times and could not get it to boot up, would get a boot loop on the Samsung galaxy s8+ screen. I think my trouble is between steps 3 and 4. It never booted into recovery there. just odined back to stock will give it another go later. Thanks for the work. Had to use the modified odin to get back to stock also.

Please read carefully it says you must manually reboot it to recovery. Almost every odin part flash will require either a manual reboot to recovery or download mode. Getting the phone to reboot to recovery betwen part 3 and 4 is the most important step in the process the phone must reboot to recovery here and bootloop in recovery it does this because there is no cache partiton because of nand wipe in part2 so as soon as it bootloops in recovery and at this point you manually reboot back to download mode and flash the csc which contains the cache.img and this is what resets the dmverity causing the phone to allow that modded system image to pass dmverity

Thank you, also for xposed. Which mods can i use? is the dolby atmos just a toggle? or does it actually work
im sorry for asking so many questions lol
This is an incredibly noobish question, but how easy is it to revert back to stock after flashing this rom? Any guides anywhere? I've looked around but can't so much as even find the Oreo firmware download for the Verizon model.

I will answer with a question. If your on totally stock rom and you see this really cool boot animation you like and you want it on your phone. Now tell me how you would get this boot animation installed on your totally stock phone? If you are able to explain too me how you would install this then there are no pros too having safestrap
So I would assume that this is a form of recovery then. I asked only because I'm not familiar with safestrap. I've always had clockwork mod, twrp, etc. Either way. Thank you for your time and effort put into this. I will give it a go at a later date.

Safestrap is TWRP recovery its just not the twrp stock recovery replacement you know. It is part of the system so you have to enter it with phone booted up and it does have limitations but zips can be flashed and system files deleted or added and access to data partion and data files
Just added some zips that can be flashed in safestrap on post 2

Rebooting as described with Vol up + Home + Power does not work.
Tried this 3 times now. Warrenty Void is still 0, so I assume it was really not working.
What can I do?
I saw a different method to boot to recovery in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2pXwAIh6m4
But I am worried to brick my device if I boot into something broken.

No, just reboot your phone manually
Reboot manually = volume down + powerbutton for 7-10 sec
Recoverymode= volume up+ power button+ homebutton
*IMPORTANT!!!!!* if you boot in twrp it will ask you to swipe to allow modifications at that point you MUST root your device or install a custom rom, because if you allow modifications twrp starts modifying stuff in your /system folder and that triggers drk permanently or else you must use a jtag box to repair it and that is very expansive
People get drk error when they flash stock rom and they have flashed and swiped to allow modifications in twrp,
It wont break your device btw, if it does you always have xda developers we can fix everything together
But if it really does break you can flash stock rom if you are new to this then just tell me i can give you precise instructions for free
Thanks for your detailed reply!

My plan was, to save my current system, then flash LineageOS and maybe flash back the old system if something is not working correctly. If I get you right, I have to root first? But if I root first, everything will work fine?
Btw: What is drk?

So if the recovery is broken I can still flash a working one? What is a "bricked" devices if everything is just that easy? And yes - I am pretty new to this stuff.

Ok so i think its better to start fresh, google the following "samfirm" (without quotes) now there should be a thread in xda developers download the program from there and extract it (it doesnt require any installation, now enter your phone's model and region click on auto and click search it should give you the latest version for your country now just download it and wait for it to decrypt now extract the AP, BL, Cp, and csc file download odin (MUST USE THE LATEST VERSION) because samsung has started using a new file extension called lz4 and older odins cannot flash that now run the latest version of odin as admin and select the ap file in ap, bl in bl, cp in cp and csc in csc (do not select home csc) now flash and everything should be alright just wait untill your phone boots up, ( first boot on all roms take 5min +/- ) then go back to download mode, and flash twrp
Options for stock rom: auto reboot, f.reset time, nand erease all,
Options for twrp: just uncheck auto reboot
Now after flashing twrp reboot phone manually AND DIRECTLY boot in twrp
Now swipe to allow modifications
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FROM NOW ON YOUR WARRANTY HAS BEEN VOID!!! ALSO DRK IS GONE PERMENENTLY!
If your warranty is void knox will be tripped and ALL knox apps like samsung pay will be DISABLED FOREVER and there is NO WAY TO REVERSE THIS!!!
Now make sure you connect your phone to your pc and download magisk (thats a alternative root method in my opinion magisk is better then supersu because it can hide root from apps like snapchat, pokemon go and ANDROID PAY (and many more apps not allowing root)
Copy and paste the magisk zip (magisk v17.1 is latest now)
Go to install and search the zip file then swipe to install zip, now your phone is rooted, you can now reboot in your system,
Now if you want the custom rom, go to twrp, make a backup (ESPECIALLY OF EFS AND BASEBAND )
if these are lost then its your fault, and its also VERY HARD to repair it after backing up go to wipe and Wipe the following: Dalvik cache, cache, system, data DO NOT WIPE INTERNAL STORAGE
Now you are ready to flash the rom first boot may take a while and also it may have a bootloop just keep it looping and it will stop
If you decide to go back to stock you will get stuck at the s7 edge screen or get a drk error just go back to download mode and flash cf autoroot (that is supersu but you flash it with pc)
And yes, i know so many text and steps but there is no other choice i tried to make it simple as possible
If you follow this instructions precisely then nothing should go wrong
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please update me on how it went

Oh and, no its finished it looks like there is 1% left but you can simply reboot so you can skip the stock rom steps i'm sorry i didn't read your post correctly
Uhm... First: Thanks
The samfirm tool seems to be deprecated. The thread says, I should use fw.updato.com
My Problem is, I should enter my region. Where do I get my phones region?
But why do I actually need to flash a new firmware before installing TWRP?
Sorry if my question are a bit noobish

I tried doing this now, installing TWRP was successful. When trying to install Magisk it "Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)" and "Unable to mount storage". The same happend while trying to backup. As mentioned in some other threads (like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-7neHzSIvc) I tried changing the File System to exFat. (And back to ext4 afterwards) I am stuck in Formatting... screen with "Formatting Data using mkexfatfs... Done." now. There is no button to continue to anything, just a bar that signalizes that there is something in process. Nothing changes. I am in this screen for over an hour now.
^
EDIT: Now after like 2hrs I get "E:recv error on uevent" multiple times. And this is not stopping...
EDIT: I've seen this: https://www.xda-developers.com/twrp-3-2-0-released-android-8-0-oreo-zips/
So, after 8hrs of nothing, I rebooted. But I just get to the TWRP starting Screen. Odin Mode is still working, so I tried flashing TWRP 3.1.1.0. Stuck in boot screen, too.
I reflashed Stock now. I can use my phone again. Your explanation how to flash stock was very useful! Now everything from the beginning
I finally made it to install Magisk. There was a crucial step missing: Go to wipe>format data and type yes. That fixed the problem "unable to mount data" and "unable to mount storage".
It finally worked! Installed LineageOS successfully!
Thanks for your help! I would not have made it without it

That's great if you have a windows computer, what do you do if you are a Linux user!
I have the same problem on Samsung S4 GT-I9195I kitkat 4.4.4 and an ubuntu 20.04 with adb and heimdall installed.
My procedure
Turn off Phone by long pressing the Power button;
Boot into Recovery mode (Home + Volume Up + + Power)
Wipe /data – Factory reset
Wipe /cache
Reboot and quickly after hitting reboot, into Download mode (Home + Volume Down + Power)
Code:
sudo heimdall detect
getting the img file from here.
Code:
sudo heimdall flash --RECOVERY twrp-3.7.0_9-0-serranoltexx.img --no-reboot
Volume down + Power to restart manually
Home + Volume Up + Power to boot into recovery mode
But what I get is the following:
No matter how I manually reboot to get into the recovery, I get this instead of a proper TWRP recovery.
Any idea?

Heimdall auto reboot also if you don't tell --no-reboot
Don't listen to people saying odin is needed , it's usually not, heimdall is fine.
@giammi56 Are you sure the recovery partition on this device is called "RECOVERY"? Some older devices have a partition with that name, but the actual recovery partition is called something else. You can run
Bash:
heimdall download-pit --output check.pit
This will download the current partition table from the device itself, which is good to have and also ensures proper USB connectivity. Then, read the partition layout using
Bash:
heimdall print-pit --file check.pit | less
Look for the entry that has "recovery.img" as the flash filename and use that one. Also, for some devices the name could be diffrent, so if there isn't one you will need to do further research.

Install Instructions Safestrap Method
Make Sure The Latest Samsung Drivers Are Installed. They Can Be Found Here
This will probable require a data wipe so be prepared unless you are already on Pie
If you are not already on safestrap system follow the Alternate Install Instructions to get to safestrap
1. Copy ****_SYSTEM.img to your external sdcard or internal storage and the G95*_MODEMS_****zip
2. Reboot to download mode and in BL slot in Odin choose BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G95*U_V5.tar.md5 flash and reboot to safestrap
3. In Safestrap choose install then choose select storage and select storage you copied system.img and modems zip to and click ok then at bottom choose install image and choose ****_SYSTEM.img then select flash to system image then swype to flash
4. When done flashing go back to home then choose install and select the G955_MODEMS_****.zip You may get an error in the modem zip about unmounting system resources are busy this is fine. When its done reboot safestrap. If safestrap doesnt open usually press and hold the buttons to reboot to recovery for about 5 seconds then release and rehold then for another 5 seconds then release and safestrap will usually open
5. When booted back to safestrap at this point you can flash mod zips
6. Choose backup select Micro SD Card and select System Image backup
7. To leave safestrap reboot to bootloader or download still does not work so you still need to manually reboot to bootloader
8. Use modded Odin and load BL_DELETE_CACHE_G95*_V5_BL.tar.md5 In BL Slot and flash
9. Phone will reboot to recovery it will try and process update then on blue screen you get an Error(Click For Pic) and recovery will start rebooting let recovery bootloop once then force back to download mode and goto step 10
If on blue screen you get the No Command(Click For Pic) title instead of the Error(Click For Pic) title instead of the Error(Click For Pic) title on the blue screen then let phone bootloop a couple of times until you get that error. If after several bootloops still no error force a reboot of phone and let it try again. If still after several attempts reboot to download mode and In odin load BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G95*U_V5.tar.md5 in BL slot and flash. Phone reboot to stock recovery there wipe cache and reboot back to bootloader from recovery and go back and start again from step 8 You cannot move on until you get that error screen
10. Ok once you have the error and phone bootlooped after the error and you forced rebooted to download Flash BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G95*U_V5.tar.md5 in odin phone will reboot to recovery
11. In recovery wipe cache then from recovery reboot to bootloader
12. In Odin and load BL_G955U1_SET_VERITY_V5.tar.md5/COLOR] In BL Slot As soon as phone powers off force reboot to recovery. If you get an Error(Click For Pic) in stock recovery instead of No Command(Click For Pic) and phone says dm verity failed reboot from recovery to bootloaders and start on step 8
13. If you get the No Command(Click For Pic) and it says successfully verified dmverity hashtree(Click For Pic) Wipe data (if first install) or cache (if already installed) and reboot to bootloader and In BL slot in odin flash BL_G95*_****_V5.tar let phone reboot and you should be done
14. If phone gets stuck on boot animation or boots up then reboots constantly then reboot to recovery and wipe data
To Enter Exit Safestrap
1.BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G955U_V5.tar.md5 in BL slot and flash and let phone reboot to safestrap
2. Before leaving Safestrap wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. To leave safestrap reboot to bootloader or download still does not work so you still need to manually reboot to bootloader
4. Use modded Odin and load BL_DELETE_CACHE_G955_V5_BL.tar.md5 In BL Slot and flash
5. Phone will reboot to recovery it will try and process update then on blue screen you get an Error(Click For Pic) and recovery will start rebooting let recovery bootloop once then force back to download mode and goto step 6
If on blue screen you get the No Command(Click For Pic) title instead of the Error(Click For Pic) title instead of the Error(Click For Pic) title on the blue screen then let phone bootloop and force back to download
mode and In odin load BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G955U_V5.tar.md5 in BL slot and flash. Phone reboot to stock recovery there wipe cache and reboot back to bootloader from recovery and go back and start again from step 4
6. Flash BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G955U_V5.tar.md5 in odin phone will reboot to recovery
7. In recovery wipe cache then from recovery reboot to bootloader
8. In Odin and load BL_G955U1_SET_VERITY_V5.tar.md5 In BL Slot As soon as phone powers off force reboot to recovery. If you get an Error(Click For Pic) in stock recovery instead of No Command(Click For Pic) and phone says dm verity failed reboot from recovery to bootloaders and start on step 4

Alternate Install Instructions SamFail Method
Download
G955_ZSBB_SAMFAIL_PIE_FILES.7z
You will Also Need To Download AP_SAFESTRAP_ONLY_SYSTEM_IMAGE.tar.7z
1. Extract Both zips and copy the ****_SYSTEM.img to your external sdcard or internal storage and the G95*_MODEMS_****zip
2. Flash BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G955U_V5.tar in odin Reboot back to download
3. Use the AP_SAFESTRAP_ONLY_SYSTEM_IMAGE.tar.md5 extracted from the AP_SAFESTRAP_ONLY_SYSTEM_IMAGE.tar.7z zip and flash in AP slot and pit file in pit tab in odin
4. When done flashing it will say fail and phone will reboot then either force reboot to download or wait about 30 seconds to a minute and phone will reboot automatically to download mode failed software update installation screen this is fine its still in download mode. If phone reboots too upload mode for some reason force it back to download mode
5. In odin load BL_ENG_BOOTLOADERS_SAFESTRAP_G955U_V5.tar in BL slot and flash and let phone reboot to safestrap

He would have said something is broken if that were the case. Regardless, it's best to report any bugs along with your setup in this thread so people can help.
Speaking of which, Google Pay reports the device as being modified or rooted.

That’s because beta release are not certified by play store and do not pass part of safetynet check. Most safetynet apps will work though

EDIT: nvm, issue was the usb port XD.
EDIT2: Ok biiiiig issue, I followed the steps for enter/exit safestrap and in the last step I think I messed because I couldnt boot , and now I can't flash any BL. Already tried with stock roms and full roms but nothing. I saw a weird thing, I make it to boot to recovery and saw that the version is 7.0 and g955usqu5arf1??
@jkruse
any advice?
I'm assuming we need to already be on crk1 to flash this am I correct?

Flash the eng bootloader in Odin to get to safestrap and then to get back follow delete cache to the end
This is working beautifully aside from Netflix and Prime video, which I suppose is to be expected.
I'm surprised at how much better it is, even as a beta.

Just as an FYI , and has nothing to do with this build, but on Pie, Gear S3/s2 pairing is broken, Spay seems to be sporadic.

Samsung Pay kept declining for me. How did you get yours working?
Also, for the "system/vendor/lib/liboemcrypto.so" fix, is that also done in safestrap?

This seems to be Samsung. All of you must remember the PIE build is built from Samsung not jrkruse, so any bugs you face on the S8+ are on them. I myself have black snapchat videos similar to the kernel issues I had with early N/O AOSP builds with the S5 and early OREO Beta builds on the S8+ snapdragon variant. To my knowledge and understanding all jrkruse has done is allowed the ability to use safe strap with PIE using Odin/Samfail and the ability to continue to use OTA updates. Am I correct @jrkruse? I'm going to reiterate here and please don't think I'm being rude but come on guys do your research. I've only had this device since February buuuut I have been on XDA longer than most of you and sorry jrkruse longer than you but I'm no dev lol. Jrkruse/partcyborg you definitely are a God send to the carrier locked phone of Samsung and I thank you for your time and effort my man. To anyone wondering I am on the sprint variant ?. I am always here to help, even the noobs and foreigners ?
