Firmware 50.1.A.10.40 - Sony XA2 Ultra Questions & Answers

Have anybody installed this? Does it still breaks Xposed? What are the changes to previous firmware?

Just installed it, it's june 1st security patch. I don't know about Xposed, my Xperia is not rooted

I can almost guarantee Xposed will not work with any security patch after 4.102.
Until there's a new Xposed after 90 beta3

Unless you're some kind of CIA agent with mad secrets to keep confidential, or some billionaire with bank accounts hackers around the world are trying to gain access to, odds are upgrading firmware past 4.102 will have little to no benefit tbh. By all means upgrade if you don't mind losing Xposed. You can always downgrade with Flashtool

Yes, you are right. My personal guess would be, they just bump up the security patch level and thats it. But its nice to have the latest numbers in "About Phone", although its mostly psychological

Haha sooner or later rovo89 will release another version of Xposed, hopefully it'll work with the newer security patches.
Until then, it's a choice between Xposed and that psychologically pleasing updated firmware info ?
Me personally, I finally downgraded with the new flashtool, and now Xposed works and I have no plans of upgrading until a new Xposed is released.

Also, can I downgrade from R10A?

Just tried Magisk to make sure and worked as well.
Thanks good man, know of some notorious change how to really improve the battery or overheating there was in the 93-14?
Were you guys rooted before? If so, what exactly did you do so you could update?
I'm rooted with SuperSu and ElementalX Kernel right now. What would I need to do so I can install the OTA update, when it hits my phone?
I like too fresh install Android via abd then update and root, but you can always unroot you you are lazy to fresh install

Can someone upload a twrp backup with this update?
I'm using Magisk for root and Substratum for theming the navigation bar. Will updating over the changes made work?
PS - The bootloader is unlocked, of course.
Magisk is fine dont know about substratum

Magisk in stock B389

Right, just a quick question:
Does Magisk works with stock ROM B389? I've read a lot about Magisk, but most, if not all, is referring to 3rd party ROM's with Magisk, not stock.
And the reason why I want stock, although removing some GAPPS, is because I do appreciate a lot the timed shutdown and boot-up: saves phone's battery and my head from radiation while I sleep. But I also want to keep Android Pay, so...
thanks in advance.

Yes, but stock only. I haven´t root it yet and I don´t know if I will. Besides Adaway and unistalling some Google Apps I don´t know what else I would gain.
And I would also have to be careful for Magisk not to break FingerPrint scanner or smart button. A reboot would fix it, but anyway something to be concerned about.

This update greatly improved my battery life. I arrive at the end of the day with 40% to 50% (before I was arriving with 20%).

Just got my Honor View 10, where to start?

I was hoping that I could install Magisk and TWRP. I don't really care about custom ROMs, is it possible or am I out of luck? Some info about my device:
Build number is BKL-L04 8.1.0.105(C567)
EMUI is 8.0.0
Security patch is March 1, 2018
If it is possible, are there any guides?
Which 3rd party unlocking service should I go through? And before I proceed, should I update to the latest software version?
Thanks.

Nowadays Honor don't provide unlock codes, so you can't unlock bootloader to flash any TWRP or get root with Magisk.
There isn't 3rd party services to get the code
You'll enjoy this device totally stock

It will work but all future updates will be received when that region's variant is released. I have the NOBA J9110 and we are usually in the second release group but for some reason we were in the first for this release.

alternative method would be downloading the firmware through the xperifirm application and then creating a flashable firmware using flashtool and flashing with the flashtool application. Unless you unlock your bootloader you will loose the drm keys.
Ready. I flashed it with the Newflasher and the downloaded Firmware (Custom NOBA). It works excellent. Gestures of android 10, dark mode. I still did not test the camera. So far it works and responds very fast. Absolutely nothing was lost from DRM. Thank you all for replying.
