Hi everyone, the official 8.1 update for the Moto X4 has been released two days ago for the rest of the X4 and those sold by Amazon Prime. Is someone from this forum already receiving it? I have an European XT 1900/7 but I have not received anything by OTA yet.

Hi, I bought it on Amazon prime USA, and I'm currently living in Nicaragua and I received it 3 or 4 days ago.
does anybody have the full version of this firmware for flashing? I need THIS firmware, because thats what my device had before I bricked it trying to flash android one.

It seems that this update is coming very slowly, I don't know if it is because there are many versions (XT1900-5 / 7, XT1900-1, XT1900-2, XT1900-6 and XT1900-4) or there are some issues with this v8.1 update since I have read some owners of the X4 complain about some failures on their devices that got with this update.
Anyone with XT 1900/5 and XT1900/7 are receiving 8.1 update, please ??

My XT1900-7 got the update (OPWS27.2.3) too, but it's 8.0 with June security patches. Come on Lenovorola... how hard is it to release the same updates on all X4 variants?
My XT1900-5 still does not have the 8.1 update. Anyone know what is going on with the roll out?

My guess is... since we're definitely supposed to get 9... they're just skipping 8.1.
If that's the case... then I don't mind not having it.
And June security patch ... This is getting worse.

There's a stable (yet unofficial) build of LineageOS 16 (Android 9) that can be downloaded if your willing to go that route. I've been using it for a bit and it's stable and everything works like it should. Latest security patch is 9-5-2018. You can always go back to stock 8/8.1 if you don't like it. It's not hard and you don't have to be tech savy to do it. When (if ever) stock 9 comes you can always go back to that too.
I received update 23.2.4 on my xt1900-6 (brazilian) but it is not from version 8.1, it's just the August security updates.

I've changed my system to Google Fi in order to get the Oreo 8.1 here in my XT1900-6. I'm not able to use some Moto features (Sorry, onenav gestures), but at least I have Oreo 8.1 even though it's still stuck on June Patch.

Why do they even bother with that lol. I was expecting it by the end of 2015 or early 2016 therefore I bought it almost a year ago. However now most of the Flex2 users are thinking about how to get rid of it and not about when the update is coming.

For my H955 ABALTS IMEI checker says it only H95515C_00 and update center confirms that no update. Maybe I've been a naughty boy this year.
Currently this update is for Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Austria and Romania. Not even Poland got it yet.

When the Marshmallow update dropped a year ago, taking out my SIM immediately caused the update to be available upon check, so not necessarily true.

I had to pull my Verizon SIM to download the May security patch as well. Verizon users who did not remove the SIM received the update much later. Motorola does release updates in batches by IMEI number, but depending on your carrier, having the SIM inserted can block the update.
So....Is there an update, or no? I noticed a hell of a lot of people looked at this post but few responses.

According to the FAQ page for the MXPE, no. Updates are supposed to be received, even if the bootloader is unlocked, but that is not the case. I was on TruPureXMM ROM, since December 2015. I recently went back to stock using the "current" firmware available on the Motorola site. Even tho it was dated September 2016, it was only up to the November 2015 security patch. I am unable to pull OTA updates. "My devices software is up to date". Moto customer service states that I cannot receive updates with an unlocked bootloader.

To solve the problem of sound you have to do a factory reset.

I'm from PH, I am concerned about Oreo's bugs about the Dolby Atmos system, they said it's too loud and there's no more bass. Stuffs like that. So since you already received 8.1, can you tell me if they had it fixed and if it includes an equalizer built in its new OS ver?
Was it already fixed? I stayed in 7.1.2 Nougat with Root and added a ViPER4Android for enhanced audio effects. So far it's great.

To add to that, there's a new transition when waking your device from sleep.
My suggest: Do not update to 8.1 yet. SystemUI crashed on my device 2 times already, idk the reason why + still cannot unlock bootloader :<

G7 one is stock android. Its about the G7 thinq beta release of pie in Korea. It will take allmost a year to release official.

You're right, my bad, I was sleepy af when I shared this. But if you look in the carrier roadmap you can see that they say that Android Pie is "Coming soon" and for the G7 ThinQ.
All good?. I expect more action from LG with that update center to update faster with patches instead bring up news about Pie that will take a long way like the G6 did. We will see

I've seen posts of people changing firmware region so probably yes but we don't have the kdz for testing it.
From 15.March Honor officially in Europe pushed OTA MagicUI 3.0 a.k.a. Android 10 update.
And from roadmap plan it should def also get 3.1 but we will see, nothing officially confirmed.
It is 30.March but persionally i have not recieved it.
And im curous to see ho else did not recieve it, or who recieved it in Europe After 2 weeks.

My mothers 3y.o Nokia 5 bought like for 160€ when it was new, recieved android 10 in January, and just recieved March security update over OTA. So im confused, how can it be. Phone that is 3x cheaper is recieving constant security updates and android updates 3x faster than hi-end Honor devices.
I will start.

Hicare v10.1.3.403 pressing update shows that i allready have the newest android.
With pc and hisuite the same.
In this covid time no phone or carrier, shops are open to check the version in the 'display' v20 models
p.s. i have also cleared android update app cache(what honor is saying to do if you dont recieve updates) still the same.
I will try to flash with HSTool on different v9.1 version, and try to see what will happen. sad that we cannot flash to v10...
