[ROM][8.1.0][THEA] Unofficial LineageOS 15.1 [ALPHA][UNIFIED] - Moto G 2014 LTE Android Development

WARNING: Broken RIL. THIS ROM IS NOT A DAILY DRIVER AND IS TOTALLY OBSOLETE. EMERGENCY CALLS ARE NOT POSSIBLE.
Use gothicVI's ROM which includes a working RIL and the latest O security patches.
If you want a daily driver Oreo ROM, flash LuK1337's LineageOS 15.1, which is the only alternative right now.
Because our thea deserves to be loved too!
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.1 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restores the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
This is an unofficial LineageOS 15.1 build made from LuK1337 et al's source trees for the Motorola Moto G 2014 LTE, synced to the latest Lineage codebase with some changes. I have to fix a lot of stuff to make it a stable ROM and therefore development help is wanted and welcome. This ROM is a work in progress and it's purpose is to serve as a reliable base to port over other ROMs to the device, or just to be a smooth daily driver for Lineage fans.
Working: Those features are stable.

Oh, hi there. I didn't know that there was somebody still interested in developing for this device. I switched to a Huawei P9 my father gave me, but I still have my Thea saved. That said I tried everything but I couldn't get the RIL to work.
I fixed the vendor image problems by getting the vendor image strings in a terminal emulator in the phone, then going back to my PC and changing the init_thea.cpp file in the init folder of the thea device tree. Check RenanQueiroz' titan device tree, go to init_titan.cpp and get a guidance. I made a dual_override() function too to save space.
I am not a ROM cook though. Just a builder.

@johndroid1999 If I were you, I would've upstreamed the kernel to 3.4.113 and merged all of the kernel patches from the Android Security Bulletin
Ok, I'll look into doing that and in the next release I may have it ready! @DodoGTA, might also be worth to mention I'm no expert, so I may need a little (a ton of) help

Along with that, can you add setns support for the mount namespace and Navigation bar option in Settings > Buttons (like on LOS 13), rework the device and kernel tree, unify the device tree and add improvements to it from @no_name's LOS 14.1 device tree (Link: https://github.com/ishantvivek/android_device_samsung_kyleproxx)?

@johndroid1999
U are a little bit crazy :laugh::laugh:
Why dont you fork the united tree from @no_name ( It is united tree of kyleproxx , you can build ROM for both dev just from that tree )
And kernel reworked too ( There is also oreo kernel on it , but i dont think it is stable yet as some missed android binder commit , can you do it ? )
If u cant find the united device tree and reworked kernel , link here :
United device tree : https://github.com/ishantvivek/android_device_samsung_kyleproxx
Reworked kernel : https://github.com/ishantvivek/android_kernel_samsung_kyleproxx
Vendor new ( for united device tree , cm 14.1 branch ) : https://github.com/ishantvivek/android_vendor_samsung_kyleproxx/tree/cm-14.1
And it is great if u can help us to bring up the patches for oreo on kyleproxx ..
And cherry pick android binder commit from here to o branch in here ( remember to fork it and edit on your github , not make pull request on his github )
@unknown okay, I took a look, but I'm not sure I can bring the commits, firstly this hasn't been properly tested (ishantvivek doesn't build 12.1). Secondly I insist upon extreme stability, I can't risk the stability of the device. I intend to produce a ROM as stable as the Samsung original one (newest version doesn't matter). Thirdly, I plan to limit changes to a minimum (I plan to look on https://cnet.com/security and whenever something really really major appears to fix it) in order to ensure absolute stability.

U can fork it and bringup
We are now work on oreo for kyleproxx

I want to ask you for help for oreo bringup for this 2013 old-legacy device ...

MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP. We update our source code frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features of our own at the same time.
A small group of people from around the world who are interested in Android launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better. Like most contributors of open source projects (Omni, CyanogenMod, Slim AOSPA etc), we are doing all these in our free time as our passion...
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development (maintain new devices, contribute code etc). Newcomers are always welcomed!
Read here for developer application; with this, you can host your unofficial MoKee builds on our server!
Important information:
This thread is for official MoKee 9.0 builds for OnePlus 3/3T. The following will not be supported here:
Custom kernels
Mods
Xposed
We don't support Xposed and any logcat which includes a Xposed module will be ignored. You're kindly invited to not report bugs if you:
Flashed a custom kernel
Installed or did mods from untrusted sources
Modified system files
Tips:
You need at least OxygenOS 5.0 firmware, otherwise you'll get error 7 when installing the zip. Latest firmware is recommended.
Installation:
First time flashing MoKee 9.0 on your device, or coming from another ROM?
Download the zip(s)
Install a compatible Recovery (Latest official TWRP is highly recommended: https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplusthree.html)

Wipe data/factory reset
Flash MoKee
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package

Any adicional features that Lineage does not have?
Any screenshots please?
Encryption Support?
New rom from Dian, definitely gonna try this weekend.
the update rate is very fast. It is not nightly, it is hourly
Is the ROM stable enough to be used as a daily driver without any bug?
Is it good to dirty flash after one week?

There are two builds daily, one for oreo and one for pie. No idea about stability, gonna try it this weekend but I'm sure it is stable enough (after all it is coming from Dian who is our LOS official maintainer since beginning)

Well, kernel and device tree is more or less same for all the roms of our device. Only initial bringup of the rom takes effort. He is also official maintainer for xiaomi note3 for both of these roms.

Ok, so I just flashed this rom and as of now it just seems to be copy of LOS. No mokee features or customisations are available yet. I only noticed different sound pack being used for ringtones and alarms. And unlike LOS, internet traffic indicators are working fine.
Pls add gaming mode ?

I point out that in the versions of 25-26 / 03/2019 there was a problem with the SIM cards that are not detected and consequently the data network does not work.

Frequently asked questions.
Q : I get error 255/7 while flashing from recovery
A : Flash using correct TWRP.
Q : How do i flash rom?
A : No rocket science Just wipe /system /cache /dalvik's cache & internal storage from twrp, Then simply flash the rom package and reboot.
Q : Can I dirty flash the next build?
A : If you are upgrading from previous builds of this rom to the current builds then O'course you can dirty flash by just flashing the new rom package , gapps package and wiping both the cache partition however i advice you to refrain from doing dirty flash. Follow the instructions if posted after a build drop and flash the package accordingly if instructions explicitly mention about clean flashing.
Q : Where do i get compatible gapps/ I can't signIn into google play?
A : Get your Gapps from OpenGapps.org, only use Pico or nano! If you want my support.
Q : Is root access included in this Rom?
A : No it is not. Some testers have had success with Magisk though.
Q : Can I flash ABC mod? Does the ROM support it?
A : Yeah sure, but I will not support you. And no, the ROM probably does not support it.
Q : Android go, when?
A : Decided to disable it for now for good
Q : Is VOLTE supported ?
A : No.
Q : Is the ROM suited for daily usage ?
A : Yes, Looks like all basic daily usage stuff is functional.
Q : WHEN UPDATE?? GIB UPDATE PL0X.
A : I only post updates when there's a decent list of changes. I'm a college student and there's only so much I can do. Please do not spam my PM regarding this.
I will not respond to any messages demanding ETAs
Nice, thanks a lot Dev

It all depends upon the modem that you have flashed make sure you are on the hex firmware patch one else the basebandstring will show unknown but as long as you are getting network and you are able to make calls, data and text its not an issue. Check the screenshot section baseband string is properly displayed, just make sure you're on the correct firnware.

Are you such a lazy guy to find it jus in display settings?
Can't you just ask where can i turn it off..who asked about your experience about it...there are many people with power button failure relying on that..its an excellent feature added by dev for this f_ _king old device..
Be gentle and requesting tone next time...else try to stick with stock awesome rom in lollipop
First of all Thanks to "Dev_harsh1998" This Rom is butter smooth and having great battery backup than the other Pie Roms (even better than Aicp). Only Problem is "SELinux" like dev mentioned about it and For me "Device Randomly rebooting some times while using"...And Thanks again Man..!

For the Selinux just go to the trust interface and hide the selinux status, Fixing the selinux to permissive would require me to write tons of sepolicy for this device and not forgetting that this device runs kitkat camera blobs, So yeah I am not planning on wasting hours doing sepolicy anyways, If you face random reboot drop me the console-ramoops of the device once you have had the reboot so I can look what happened and fix it.
Time for update(More perf bump!!! Enjoy!)
Read the changelog:- here!

Method 1:-
-> People on the previous build should be getting a OTA notification or can manually check for update via the updater app and can update from there.
Method 2:
Those who want to update manually can download the build from my basketbuild folder (Linked in the first post of this thread) flash it from recovery and reboot.
Clean flash?
If you are upgrading from previous build to the current build then there is no need of doing clean flash, Just simply flash the new package and reboot. If you are coming from some other rom you have to do a clean flash that includes wiping your internal storage else your bug reports would be ignored.

[ROM][(UN)OFFICIAL][THEA][7.1] LineageOS 14.1 - Security Patch Level: 2019.03.05

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts.
Code:
#include <std/disclaimer.h>

* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or the current
* economic crisis caused by you following these directions. YOU are choosing to make these
* modificiations, and if you point your finger at me for messing up your device, I will
* laugh at you.
*/
IMPORTANT NOTE:
I'm not a developer in the actual sense. I'm just compiling this ROM according to T H I S manual. I'm not able - due to time constrains - to actually alter code or provide bugfixes. This is done by the active developers or by you!
Furthermore, I try to build on a daily basis but I can not promise daily builds. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the effort I put into this and are able to benefit from it.
This project replaces the official builds as 14.1 is depriciated.

Can I install this over the last "official" build?

and keep settings?
Thank you.

I would suggest whiping at least system, cache, and art cache.
Then it should work. However, a clean install is always the best option.

For those who are still having a Moto G 2014 LTE around: in my experience this is the best ROM available. Yes, Android 7.1 is old, but the ROMs for Android 8 and 9 that I could find and tested for this phone are unstable for me. Also, for this Android 7.1 ROM up-to-date builds are still being published, I assume with the backported security fixes as mentioned in this thread (warning: that ROM is for a different phone than Thea!) - since Google did abandon Android 7.1 years ago already. And as such, I'm currently running the 20230105 build.
I do have to confess I haven't tested all functionalities in this ROM, so I don't know if they are all working. I solely use this phone in combination with the L3GO (Android Go version) of Rootless Pixel Launcher 3.9.1 and Simple Keyboard to save as much as memory possible - to be used by the Brave browser to watch Youtube over wifi. And that works surprisingly good, without the black screens and soft reboots that I had with Android 8 and 9 ROMs.
Just thought I would let the world know - since this Android 7.1 ROM might not appear to be the most flashy one, but still works best for me.
And big thanks to gothicVI for the effort!

Lineageos 17.1 bootloop

Phone: LG G6 H870
Hello everyone, currently I am trying to update my phone from LineageOS 14.1 to version 17.1, using the version here:
[ROM][A11][H870|H870DS|H872|US997] LineageOS 18.1 for LG G6 with microG support [UNOFFICIAL]
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device. #include /* * Your warranty is now void. * *...
forum.xda-developers.com
I have also used the recommended pie bootloader and the recommended recovery.
This ROM is working fine, but from experiences in the past I'm always afraid of the developer giving up someday, so I've tried to build my own version, following the lineageos build manual (like for example on this page: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/shamu/build)
My version compiles completely, but is stuck in a bootloop, I'm pretty sure the reason is some problems with proprietary drivers.
I've already tested with the use of different combinations of the pulled drivers from the mentioned above working LOS 17.1 version, and from the repositories
GitHub - TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_lge
Contribute to TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_lge development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
GitHub - LG-G6-DEV/proprietary_vendor_lge: NEW TREE
NEW TREE. Contribute to LG-G6-DEV/proprietary_vendor_lge development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
but none of them seem to work. Missing drivers showed in compilation errors, which were gone after I have added them to the specified vendor/lge folder.
I attached the logcat file (which I stopped recording after some time) which seem to contain many repeating errors.
Any help would be appreciated!
