How to recover from a bricked Mix 2S? - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Questions & Answers

I purchased the Mix 2S in China and waited 15 days to unlock the bootloader. After the waiting period, I attempted to install the Global MIUI 10 8.6.14 ROM and the new system would "fail to find devices" and constantly reboot itself after the security pattern was entered.
Wipe Data was used in MI-Recovery 3.0 and it now only reboots to the MI-Recovery 3.0 main menu!
Connect with MIAssistant does not work since my PC does not recognize that the phone is connected. Attempts to boot to TWRP recovery from adb result in the message: The system has been destroyed, Press power button to shutdown. MiFlashtool 207.4.25.0 shows Erase boot error after attempting to flash the official 9.5 China ROM or Global 9.5 ROM. The only hopeful thing is that it still enters FASTBOOT when the power and lower volume buttons are pressed.
Is there anything that can be done here to restore the phone to its factory state? I want to start over and try this again with the Official Global 9.5 ROM instead of the Global MIUI 10 8.6.14 ROM.
As you can imagine, this has kept me up for hours trying to fix. Any help, suggestions, advice would be so appreciated at this time.

Flash any fastboot ROM via fastboot. The beta is a zip for recovery installation. You could try fastboot boot recovery.img and transfer the zip again and flash it once more before rollback.
Sendt fra min Mi MIX 2S med Tapatalk

When I try fastboot boot recovery.img, I get this screen of death: The system has been destroyed, Press power button to shutdown.

Do an unlock in MI Unlock tool again and repeat the proces.

You locked the bootloader when you flashed global rom. Unlock it again and flash again. But this time select the "erase all" option and NOT "erade and lock". (Take a look at the bottom right of the MI flash tool.

WOW. I forgot about the unlock tool. When I unlocked it again, this time it booted up properly to the NEW MIUI 10 ROM! I don't understand what caused it to work, and I'm not complaining. Thanks for your help, XDA!

If you have the Chinese version you can't relock the booth loader. Because you get in a booth loop.

I am having the same issue
I did everything exactly the same as mentioned by the other gentleman.
My boot loader is locked in the process of flashing the beta global rom.
Now when I try to unlock the boot loader via the unlocked tool, it says my mi account is not bind with the phone.
There is not way I am able to unlock the boot loader. I am not able to boot the phone.
And without unlocking the boot loader it is nt allowing me to flash any rom.
Kindly help.

[Guide] Unlocking the Mi4c Bootloader without verification by Xiaomi

This evening I had the same problem like many of you and I just did not want to wait 2-3 weeks for the unlock code from Xiaomi. I went through a lot of threads and different forums to create this guide.
Requirements
- ADB up and running (I am an Android developer, so I have this installed already - unsure if you need specific ADB drivers for Xiaomi devices though)
- Xiaomi MI4c
- MiFlash: http://bigota.d.miui.com/tools/MiPhone20151028.exe (via http://en.miui.com/a-234.html) - Install
- Mi4c Image: libra_images_6.1.7_20151221.0000.11_5.1_cn_b09dac70a0.tgz - unpack until "images" directory is visible!
- [Optional] Mi4c Fastboot Image: miui_MI4c_6.1.21_d1d054460d_5.1.zip
- [Optional] Latest TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/development/libra-twrp-3-0-t3315059
- [Optional] Latest build of CM 12.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/development/cm12-1-build-cyanogenmod-12-1-device-t3291631
Step-by-step
Step 1 is optional: I was not sure, if I could use the "fastboot oem edl" command in a higher version of MIUI... feedback required. Thus following is a list of known Xiaomi ROMs which support this procedure:
If you are using one of the following ROM versions, you should be able to unlock the device easily with the provided guide. However, I have messages that the versions don't work with higher MIUI ROM versions.
CONFIRMED WORKING
V8.6.9.15 MIUI Dev ROM
V8.0.16.0 MIUI Dev ROM
V7.5.4.0
V7.5.3.0.LXKCNDE
V7.1.4.0.LXKCNCK
V6.1.21 (Download link above)
V6.3.24
V6.3.17
V6.4.21
V6.4.14
V6.5.26
V6.8.25
V6.9.15 (China Dev)
Not confirmed (?)
None
Not working
None
(Optional) Downgrade your Mi4c by flashing any image from the list above via the "Updater" app (use top right icon to select image).
Reboot into fastboot mode (Power + Vol Down) until you see the MIUI rabbit and "FASTBOOT"
Command: fastboot oem edl (this brings your device in a kind of emergency recovery state) -> the device does only show a black screen. Do the next step.
Use MiFlash to flash 6.1.7 image (Browse -> select the "images" directory of the 6.1.7 package and start flashing)
When completed, reboot the phone by holding the Power button long (~8s)
Wait until 6.1.7 is completely loaded (this may take a while)
Reboot into fastboot mode (Power + Vol Down)
Command: fastboot oem unlock -> at this point you should have an unlocked bootloader
Now optionally install TWRP and subsequently CM 12.1 and enjoy (see respective linkes in the requirements for a howto) - TWRP: fastboot flash recovery <twrp>.img

Yes you can, as you see the CM is optional, you can choose any rom of your liking.
Be warned that any of the latest official Miui roms will lock your bootloader right back and if you have TWRP in place, you will bootloop.
Xiaomi.eu or sMiui highly recommended alternatives if you want to go with miui.
Great step by step tutorial, worth a sticky imo since more and more people coming here will be locked in the future.
I did unlock the bootloader using the guide and it works.
Step 1 Downgrade your Mi4c by flashing the 6.1.21 image via the "Updater" app (use top right icon to select image) is not necessary .
Also all data will be wiped.

don't let en.MIUI rom boot after you install twrp. because it will reinstall the stock recovery over the twrp recovery. In fact, you have to go directly to twrp after flashing it, and try MIUI.eu or other CM roms.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 (4GB/64GB) Bricked After Installing OTA

I have just bought Redmi 6 a few hours back and didn't connected my MI account to device. I Installed OTA update and after that my device is bricked on boot it shows "System Is Destroyed" and I cannot flash an image as boot-loader is not unlocked. I have an MI account but unable to request as the MI Unlock tools says your account is not bound to this device. Is there anyway I can flash latest rom without unlocking the BootLoader? Or I can bind my device to my MI account as I cannot turn on my phone.

yes, you can, but this 2 ways didn't help me, maybe you will be luckier.
1. download official rom for recovery install ( i don't know rules about link on other resources, so i will leave the link in pm.
2. download last miflash Pro (pm also)
3. download and install drivers (pm)
4. install and start miflash pro on your pc
5. enter recovery mode on your phone - pwr+volume up, next choose 'connect with mi assistant', then connect to your pc
6. choose Home in mi flash, wait app to recognise the phone, the click flash in recovery - some window will appear, if you see your imei in this windows, then you can flash. 3 dots, choose rom. if checking it is ok - click flash. Wait for 10-15 minutes
the second way is to enter fastboot mode, download and open miflash, download rom for fastboot, download drivers and save it in blank folder with rom. Then open miflash, connect your phone to pc choose this folder, and start to flash
neither way helped me, in 1 case miflash pro isn't flashing the rom, in second case miflash can't find flash_all.bat file and refuses to flash

HELP - Flashed Global ROM and phone stuck in some loop.

Hi guys :crying:
I would appreciate any help with my current predicament.
I just flashed the global ROM on my Mi Mix 3. The phone boots up fine and takes me to the following menu's.
1) Mi Account Screen - informing me this device is associated with a Mi account and I need to log in.
- I connect my phone to the wifi. And log into my Mi Account.
2) Sim Unlock Screen
- I input my sim password
3) MIUI 10 Screen Intro Screen
4) Language Screen
I select English United Kingdom
5) Region
- Only option presented is for China.
6) Phone crashes and loops on some google loading page with the message
"Find device closed unexpectedly."
So what can I do - I heard about flashing back to the Chinese ROM. But how would I do that as my device is not recognised by ADB.
- My phones bootloader is still unlocked as it is recognised by the MI Unlock tool as unlocked.
- I can boot into fastboot
- I can boot to Mi Recovery. Wiped the phone once but still same problem.
- Removed my device from Mi Cloud (as I thought there might have been a find device issue)
Any assistance is appreciated.
Regards

You don't need adb for fastboot. In fastboot:
Fastboot flash recovery "twrp file name".img
The hold volume up and power to get into twrp. If you miss the window twrp will be overwritten by mi recovery so twrp will need to be flashed again

Stuck at logo/Bootloop with locked bootloader

My Redmi Note 6 Pro Global version just rebooted itself out of nowhere and now its showing MI logo and rebooting every 3-5 seconds. I didn't unlock bootloader and had MIUI 10 latest stable version installed. I can still enter fastboot mode. What can I do to fix this?
UPDATE
Over the last few days, these are the things that I've tried:
I can enter Fastboot mode and connect to my PC, but can't enter recovery mode.
I was able to unlock my bootloader (I was in the process of waiting for the 360 hours)
I tried flashing fastboot rom with MiFlash, but when MiFlash causes phone to reboot towards the end of flashing, the bootlooping problem occurs again and it cannot complete flashing.
I also tried flashing TWRP from fastboot, it says that it's successful, but when I try fastboot boot twrp.img, the same problem: MI logo and constant reboots.
I also tried to use fastboot oem edl mode and my phone is recognized as Qualcomm device, but MiFlash can't flash in this mode, saying that hello packet is not received.
At this point, I don't know what else to do and wondering if this is a hardware problem. Any ideas?
Did you tried to press VOL UP + POWER BUTTON after you flash TWRP? If flashing TWRP doesn't work Try to flash Official MIUI RECOVERY 3.0 That's all you can do. Otherwise you should give it to Mi customer service for faster solution.
I have the same problem, did you manage to solve this issue?
hello guys,
here is a solution, open your phone backpart and put your phone to edl mode by testpoint pinout,
then try to flash latest stable rom if fail then flash latest dev rom.

Hello All i have the same problem stuck on MI logo
I have tried to wipe through Mi recovery but no use
I cant flash anything because the bootloader is locked
and i dont want to use EDL mode cuz i am stuck at home and dont have necessary tools for that
My question is can we flash anything using Fastboot command or can we ON usb debugging through fastboot be cause Mi flash wont work until USB debugging in On
Please help
Try another flash tool i.e. Qfil_flash_tool
Hi, I have even tried EDL mode to flash latest rom (android 9,miui11.0.4) using Mi flash tool, still facing the same issue.
It constantly reboots while on charging, and it doesn't turn on otherwise(2 Sec of that logo and then it fades away).
Please Help
any one find solution for this?
Hi, my problem is simpler, so is there any suggestion.
after last official update, due to the internal partition was encrypted, update wasn't finished and I am stuck on MI logo when restarted the phone.
bootloader is unlocked and I can enter to (orangefox) recovery, yet I am not sure what is the best way just to return phone to the bootable state? I presume some wiping is to be done, which is not the problem, just to have as short procedure as possible, preferably without need to re-flash clean ROM from recovery?

Locked bootloader and stuck in recovery mode.

Hi all,
TL;DR
CC9 Pro (bought in China) stuck in MI Recovery 3.0 and reboot loops back to the recovery screen. Device is locked with the global rom. There is red text on the recovery screen which reads "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device." Does not matter which Mi account I use with Mi Unlock tool, it always gives an error. Cannot flash anything with the official flash tool either because the phone is locked.
Background of phone:
I was given a Xiaomi CC9 Pro Premium edition phone as a gift on 9th April 2020, which was bought in China (the person not realising it would come with Chinese apps and not work with google properly). I have spent the last 2 weeks working out how to unlock the phone and flash it with a global rom (Mi Note 10 Pro global stable rom), with eventual success. I tried installing apps and when it came to my bank app, it told me I had a rooted phone (it was never rooted) and that it would be risky to use the phone in that state.
What went wrong:
I attempted to relock the bootloader using adb tools in command prompt "fastboot oem lock". This then sent the phone into recovery mode with red text down the bottom stating "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device".
Current problem:
The phone is stuck in a recovery boot loop and I am unable to flash anything or erase any data to the phone because it is locked now. When I try to use the Mi Unlock tool I receive an error message stating a problem I cannot fix because the phone cannot boot into the system.
"Please add your account in MIUI Settings > Developer options > Mi Unlock status."
I originally unlocked the phone using my first Mi account I created, however when I tried to login to that account on the phone after unlocking it wouldn't work. I then proceeded to make a second Mi account which is the account currently linked on the device.
I am unable to check or change the MI ID on the phone. When the phone boots, it goes into recovery stating "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device." There are 3 options: reboot, wipe data and connect with MIAssistant. Reboot loops back to the same screen. Wipe data does not help. Connect with MiAssistant does not help either as I don't think my device is supported, it's too new.
The weirdest part about this is when I check on Mi Cloud, both the new and old account are linked to the device...
Help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have the same problem with my Mi CC9 and I can go to fastboot, how to solve it?
Did you try MiFlash ? https://www.xiaomiflash.com/ and download original ROM for you phone, same version what was before bootloader unlock
How to Flash Fastboot Firmware with Miflash Tool
This is a program bringing system alterations. So before moving to the process make a backup and try saving all the existing data. And then, proceed with high attention.
Step 1: Download the correct Fastboot ROM on the Windows PC by double-checking the compatibility. Then extract and get the workable extensions on the PC
Step 2: Download Xiaomi Flash Tool Free on the PC and unzip
Step 3: Move to the installation through the exe file from the folder
Step 4: Continue to “Browse” by entering the tool interface
Step 5: Then attach the ROM file
Step 6: Switch Xiaomi device into the Fastboot mode. So turn off the device and simply take a long press and hold the keys of Volume Down and Power keys
Step 7: Then connect the device to the PC with a proper USB cable which is in the Fastboot mode
Step 8: Now you can enter the tool interface and check whether the device is connected
Step 9: Then select the most suitable flashing option from all three “Flash all”, “Flash all except storage” and “Flash all except data and storage”
Step 10: Hit flash from the top of the window and wait for several minutes
Step 11: Once the process is done you can reboot and finalize the process successfully.
