I recently got the security patch update (the one release in June) and now my phone is lagging, keyboard malfunctioning, apps starting on it's own and the mic isn't working properly.
Is there anyway to roll this patch back or do anything about it?
Factory Reset.

Hi
I have standard Pixel 2 with Magisk installed (for thethering restrictions bypass). I finally got around to getting OTA from July to August one. So got Android 9. I followed the OTA update guide for Magisk. Everything got installed, but now it keeps saying my phone is up to date. Even thought it's still on August Security patch. Anyone else experienced this?
I can just download rest of the patches manually and side load, but I rather avoid doing it.
Thanks
Were you on the beta update program for P. If so have you opted out? I had to opt out before I got this month's update. Didn't realise you had to do this.

Nope. Just getting everything through OTA.
Yeah the same thing happened to me

The same with me. And I had to put back a backup, because I got a problem with Magisk. So I will not install this December update.
(I rather would like to see some form of Lineage on our phone, to get rid of all kinds of apps I do not want to install on my phone.)

Hi, I thought you were right. But actually there *is* a new 1 feb update that I already put on my phone. The phone will not recceive it ota, but you can install it using ODIN. Sammobile.com is a good source. I downloaded the Dutch version from there (I had another good source to check for the correct file) Sammobile is horrifyingly slow though.... You will need a couple of hours to download. And in fact it took me several hours too to get my phone back in order.
My A7 stuck on Samsung logo screen after updating to Android 9 Pie, any fix ?
I got a Samsung SM_J415GN/DS here, and it got its touchscreen broken, so I got it replaced. It was working for a while. I even upgraded it to Pie.
Then an upgrade again came, with security patch dated January 1, 2020. So I updated, But this time, after it rebooted, touch is unresponsive. I even tried factory reset. No dice. Tried Odin. Not working.
It just goes to the language selection screen, and I know it works, touch just wasn't responding.
Can I ask for some help? Or even how to downgrade?

have the same problem still looking for solution
It's probably because the display uses oreo touch drivers, so on pie they upgraded the drivers and it won't work anymore.
If i'm correct, to get it working, you need to download the last oreo and latest pie source, then extract both of them in a different folder, replace pie touch driver with oreo one, then build.
Just got the Update from 0.672 to 2.1
It increased quite a bit... will update with screenshot when it's done.
But the patch was only around 76mb in size. So i don't expect more than security update.
Edit:
Maybe only may patch. Got it too.
Isn`t it buil-number 52.1.A.2.1 instead of 51?
anything new and improved in this build?Like is the lag and touch screen issues fixed?
Does Sony ever release any changelogs? This is bizarre, not knowing what's going on.
Fingerprint Reader improved a Lot with this Update - for me at least
I am looking to download this firmware version 52.1.A.2.1 so I could flash it with flashtool (I'm on 0. 672) I'm using a customized US firmware, I have been checking for OTA updates but I've got nothing.
Edit 1: I got the firmware in Xperifirm and installed it but the bugs I was experiencing didnt get fixed.
edit 2: I came back to Android 9
And as usual,Singtel SG always late update, should be the last..oh my God
Hi, i have a Pixel 7 pro (no carrier, eu, stock, locked bootloader) and am experiencing the following:
until yesterday i was running:
security update: november
play system update: october
os: october
i tried with the pixel repair tool to no avail. so, yesterday i applied for the beta... installed, rebooted (many times) and... still stuck with the stable from october. i then downloaded the official ota and applied it... now i have
security update: december
play system update: october
os: december
now, why the play system won't update? also, the privacy and security settings are still separated... for what is worth, the free VPN has already been active for a few days.
is my OS broken? should i try with sideloading the update again? i'm not in the mood for a reset and i have many apps (banking too) which would be a hassle to config again.

Android Pixel updates get rolled out in phases, meaning it's not available for everyone at the same time. Maybe you need to wait an hour, maybe a day, maybe a week.
If you feel the need to immediately update at the earliest time possible, you should look into ADB flashing.

I updated to december and also have not gotten that "feature", it's likely that it's a google sided switch/ App update that is necessary to change that, meaning it's not at all necessary to update the firmware of the phone factually, but Google still wants the "feature drop" as a sales argument, hence the big focus on the firmware updates, even though the actual features could easily be delivered as in-app updates.
yeah... i read somewhere else that that "feature" and others will be available with an upcoming update within this month... lol

I think that's part of the PermissionController APK, which is part of the PermissionController Mainline module. So I think Google needs to update that Mainline module before we get it.
However, you should be able to toggle the flag on with this adb command...
adb shell cmd device_config put privacy safety_center_is_enabled true
