This not an issue as OnePlus have previously stated that face unlock is not secure and should only be used for convenience

Yes I know that but in OnePlus 5T it's working very fine and in OnePlus 6 some problems are coming like battery issue face unlock issue and many more. Actually I m thinking to upgrade my OnePlus 5t with OnePlus 6 but these problems holding me not to.

I personally don't use Face unlock and am happy with the fingerprint sensor.I did notice some battery drain from it when I first got the phone.I think it is early days yet for the OnePlus 6 and more software updates are needed. U should wait for the 6t or 7 anyway coming from the 5t unless you have money to throw away

Who all are excited for Honor V10?

Guys, as time reaching near who all are excited for V10 ? I may end up buying it actually.
Not even a year, honor 9 already outdated
The Custom Dev here is dead and..yes this Honor would be my last Honor.
Another Honor? Yea right.... H9 was my first and last, thank God I found a casual user ok to buy it from me. Coming from OnePlus and staying there now. 5t all da way. ?

You are wrong, the V10 is the successor to the V9 (H8 Pro).
H9 remains their current year flagship. @FlyingMachete the future looks bright, oreo with treble is incomming which will most likely solve alot of problems for us devs.

New Phone ?!!

Hi,
The Oneplus One was a great phone, it's been almost 4 years but it's the end, I broke it, the screen and the camera ... broken, the screen isn't responding anymore, the frame all around is in bad shape too .... I took care of it, there was no scratch, but i broke it at work trying to fix desk -_-
First of all I want to thanks the xda Oneplus One community, it's been fun ... Cyanogen 4.4 KitKat to Android Oreo 8.1 Always someone to help, with developers who do their utmost to give us the best :good: .
I'm actually using my old Nexus 4 for now but i'm thinking to buy the Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus.
Do you guys have a suggestion for a new phone that I can buy ??? (The Oneplus Five is too expensive for me unfortunately )
PS: English is not my native language, sorry for any spelling mistakes
PS: Just realized i'm in the wrong section -_- should be in "ONE Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING", Sorry about that
hi,
i had a oneplus one too until recently, i got a xiaomi mi a1. i can recommend it!
Hello,
I have the oneplus one from 4 year old too and it work perfectly (never change any parts).
I think change for the new oneplus six, but seriously I don't need more, the one is good for me.
Big thanks to the xda community, for developers, this smartphone survive a long time.
I've considered changing too, but I finally decided to keep my one a couple of years more (if possible). This said, right now I would pick Redmi 5 Plus in the lower tier, Nokia 7 Plus in the middle one or LG v30 as top device at a good price.
Good luck with your choice, but keep in mind nothing will actually replace your One. It was like the girl of your like ??
Budget phone definitely Xiaomi Mi A1
I would recommend Xiaomi mi6 or if you can wait for mi7 (This would be my choises if my bacon got rotten)

Both the parts(screen and camera) are available on eBay. Replace yourself and bring your OPO back to life. Anyway, going for Redmi Note 5(3gb variant) or Redmi Note 5 Pro would be a better choice than Redmi 5 Plus. The former one costs just a little over Redmi 5 Plus.
I'm quite interested in MiA1 or maybe Nokia 6 2018
I'm still using my OPO sinc oct 2014, even if i dropped it in the water( only the front camera broke, even after changing it iti didnt get fixed, maybe it's something else like the connector or a resistance ...) and i was planning to change it for the 1+6 but after seeing it will have a notch i changed my mind and i hope my opo will survive another 2 years lool because sincerly it's a beast, if i compare it to phones from the same year( Z2, S5, M8) it's the only one who is still working perfectly and smoothly( i see my friends whith the phones i'vve mentionned strugling lol), thanks to this incredibly community, so i hope i don't brake it or get stolen or brake itself for another 2 years, but for you what can i say, cant' you for exemple find a used 3T?? it's a very good phone even if it's not the new one
The great thing about Oneplus One has been the developer community which has been keeping the phone after so many years.
Does any current phone has such a developer community?
Xiaomi note 5 pro is a good budget phone with good camera.Heard Mi A2 is expected to launch next month but has a less battery and may not have support of Google.
Essential phone has been on sale in various countries.. check it out.
I would highly suggest Nokia phones otherwise.. budget + fastest updates after Google pixel series of course.

Nokia would have been a very good choice only if they allowed unlocking bootloader and released kernel sources of all their devices.
Source - https://www.xda-developers.com/hmd-global-kernel-sources-bootloader-unlocking/
They released kernel sources for a few devices but still no official way to unlock bootloader.

[Question] Will there be a oneplus 6t version? And when?

Are there Informations about a 6t-version?
When not:
When was the 5t announced? So is there a possibility to know if there will be a 6t version?

Hi,
I don't think I've seen any official statements on this. The 3T and 5T were both annouced in November of their respective years and available in the same month.
When the 3T came out, they said it was a one off due to the availability of the SD821. Last year they made no prior comment and then the 5T was launched with a bigger screen.
I would say that we won't get any confirmation until it happens... But I would bet money that there will be a 6T with some form of improvement over the OnePlus 6.
The OnePlus model is to sell a phone at full price with no discounts until it's next model comes out. When the phones were priced very low, they could do that because even after a year it was a competitive choice. Now after a year there are better phones coming out after a year. Moving to a 6 month cycle means they keep people interested and higher sales figures. It's also worth noting that they increased the prices on the 3t but not the 5t. If they are increasing prices on the t models it also means OnePlus are going to flagship territory pricing. Not necessarily flagship killer like they originally used to be. This isn't bad but just demonstrates how their business model is changing to that of a more mainstream brand (similar to Sony with its 2 flagships a year) rather than an upstart.

Lol,
Pretty much...
My two cents is that I think there will be a OnePlus 6T but I will still be looking at the OnePlus 6. You get a phone with a new processor rather than waiting for the 6t when it's already half way through its product cycle.
The way they have supported the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 would seem to indicate they have the same software release cycle as the 3T and 5T respectively so might as well just get the OneOlus 6 when it's out. As for the 6T, it's just like the wider phone market... There are always new phones coming out with some latest feature so no point waiting as you will always be waiting for something better.

Yes, you can't wait to be "up to date". But 5 and 5t are pretty much different
When I know what are the details of the 6, I can see what I will do.
I'm willing to buy the phone my lgg4 is getting too old...

The release of a T version depends on a new chipset release by SD. If the Pixel/Note comes up with any later chipsets than 845, there are chances we would get a T device again.

The screen is already updgraded to 19:9 on the 6. I don't think we can see that going any further in 2018, at the max we can see an on screen FPS and a few camera tweaks. As I said earlier it depends on this year's pixel/note/iPhone release for further developments and market competitiveness

What do you think about this thing where people keep saying that the OnePlus 6T (that people automatically assume is coming) will definitely be notch-less ?

Well OnePlus will only start working on the next device after the release of OnePlus 6 and that can be either the 6T or something else so for now no one can confirm for sure. Also the release of the 6T shall depend on the future development in the world of tech and the other competitive devices to be released later in the year like the Pixel 3/Note/iPhone
If 6 is still competitive by the end of the year and there is no significant development in the world of tech, OP might hold its decision and rather release 7 instead of 6T

I'm not worried about a 6T. I got the 3T and then the 5. I skipped the 5T because it was an entirely different phone and I'm happy with my 5. I don't see what more they could pack into a new phone! The 6 will be loaded with the 845, so that won't be upgraded anytime soon. The RAM and storage will be huge so that's not an issue. The new camera and screen will be on point. Dust and water protection? I doubt it.

"In OP7 it's now a linear motor and feels as good as the one on the OnePlus 7 Pro (even though they are different). It’s a drastic jump from buzzing and jarring motor from the 6T and previous OnePlus devices." Source:

Oneplus uses linear motor from... maybe oneplus5.
But I can't find any difference between this linear motor and a buzzing & jarring motor, when use a oneplus 5t or 6.
So only the op7 pro has a new powerful motor ?
No, both got it
100% NO improvement from Oneplus 6. Same ****ty vibration motor
Motor of this device is weak, i upgraded this device from op3 in between i also used pixel 3. I purchased this device for performance and dual SIM, but founded that vibration is very week i miss my calls alot time, and this was never happened with me when i using pixel and op3.

No, it does not have the new haptic feedback the Pro has. I was also looking for that info, as having an LG V35 with it's superb haptics has spoiled me, and I wouldn't go back to phones with bad vibration motors. It's a shame, I really like the form factor of the OP7.
It has the same vibration motor as the 6T as confirmed in the FAQs section of the OnePlus Community Forums.

[Sept 8] Android 11 Stable Released Today

Now that Android 11 has been released today (9/8) for the Pixel series, what kind of timeline can we expect to see for OOS11 implementation from OnePlus for the OnePlus 7 Pro? Apparently the 8 series will get android R first but we are right behind them so I have fingers crossed for a swift release
according to the oneplus tables, the 7pro should receive android 11 no earlier than November / December
Inviato dal mio OnePlus 7 Pro utilizzando Tapatalk
OB for OP7 Series will be only after Stable release on OP8 Series. And Stable release will be not Earlier December. But as for me, I prefer OOS 10 over OOS 11.
Can you imagine paying 800€ for a flagship only to be treated like a second class citizen only one year later? Yeah, screw OnePlus never buying anything by these crooks ever again.

No-one here can tell you when, judging by previous releases, probably November but they only released BETA 1 for the OnePlus 8 family today, so it might even be next year.

I am going to hazard a guess and say probably the end of the year or beginning of next. I've been rocking stable oos for the last 8 months myself and haven't even test driven 11. It's kinda hard to believe that I'm the same person who used to crack-flash anything remotely interesting and even when i loved a Rom i couldn't stay on it for more than two weeks because I felt like i was missing something. This phone has been so glitch free me on 10 that i didn't realize 11 was here.
What's the deal with Android R, is it any good?

My point exactly. I was being sarcastic.
Just waiting AOSP 11 ROMs... OOS11 sadly are not a nice option. I don't want to transform my OP device in a Samsung looks like device.
Thankfully with unlocked bootloaders, we can install custom ROMs and maintain the stock Android look. OxygenOS 11 looks like a less refined One UI skin and a disappointment for those who bought a OnePlus device for a near stock experience. Still I know a stock rom will help with kernels and overall stability.
