Sometimes, I have issue where Whatsapp doesn't show the messages as soon as it is received. It waits till I open the app, when all the sudden it comes all at once. I've notice this in both Resurrection Remix Nougat, Sulatanized RRN and AEX Oreo. I have no power saving apps or greenify like apps. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Anyone else been getting delayed Whatsapp notifications since the last couple of updates?
I'm running WhatsApp 2.11.362 on my LG G3 running 10j firmware (4.4.2).
Quite often I've opened my QuickCircle case and suddenly the notifications come through - when I look at the message time it is minutes earlier though.
I've turned off wifi optimization and I've installed push notification fix (root) to no effect.

I'm using moto g 2015 running cyanogenmod nightly 2016-06-11 build. I don't receive notification from Messaging apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat quite frequently. As it turns out the app is being killed in the background. Should I be worried or is there any fix to it? I am suspecting a memory leak in Google chrome browser but I cannot be sure. Any help would be very grateful
My S7 edge is running android 7.0. The latest release of the facebook app will not *stick* the notification sound I've selected under the app's notification settings. It stays on the sound/ringtone I've selected only until I reboot the device or force stop the app. I've tried clearing the cache and deleting the data - no change. I've also tried reinstalling the app - no change.
Is this a bug? Is anyone else experiencing this behavior on their device?
Thanks
In response to my own post -which often happens here on xda- my issue has been resolved. As it turns out, the latest public release of Facebook (v132.0.0.20.85) is seemingly plagued by a bug that reverts the app's user-selected notification sound. Apparently, however, not many folks are upset about this, since there's virtually nothing posted about it anywhere. It bothers me because I like unique notification sounds for each of my apps. That way I can tell which app has received a new message without looking at my phone's screen - it can be handy.
To resolve the problem, I simply downloaded and installed the beta version of Facebook (v133.0.0.16.83). I then tested it, and voilà ... the notification sticking problem was history. It would've been nice had someone replied in this thread to let me know that their installation of the most recent public Facebook app was afflicted with the same bug. That way I could have deduced how to fix the issue much sooner. But I guess it's a lot of trouble for most folks to simply type, "mine does that, too." Admittedly, it's not a huge issue... but it's certainly an irritant.
There is a bug on Nought,
Too many notifications freez the whatsapp for 10 or more seconds ,
Its really annoying , the problem is only in android Nought, Marshmallow is fine no problems at all,

I am not facing any such issues
Have u tried factory resetting the phone... Most issues when upgrading to Nougat are solved when using this method
Turn your on internet for some more times about 6 hours, after that turn the mobile data , all pending whats app message will come and freez
Seems it is your personal problem. No other has the same.
Reset the phone. Do clean install of apps.
Call Whatsapp support.
Interesting, I was expecting another bug to be discussed. When the navigation bar is hidden and you press the emoji icon from whatsapp you can't scroll through the list because it automatically minimizes.

With the latest Google keyboard update (I've always used it on Lenovo P2) the bug is gone.
I've downloaded the latest update yesterday.
Only on Solution if your whatsapp will hang when many notification will come, block whatsapp notification, and you can chek whatsapp messages in open app, no lag

Hi all,
Anyone else having/had problems with not getting notifications for certain apps? For instance - Instagram gives no notifications at all and I've turned off all the optimization I can think of and other apps are not having the issues.
I also am having issues where I explicitly turn off certain notifications and they keep turning themselves back on...
Very annoying.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Yes, same problem here, telegram not showing notifications when sent. What a downgrade this OxygenOS 11, had a Oneplus 7 Pro and didn't have any of these problems.
I´ll try flashing another ROM since I tried everything I could with Oxygen 11... Kinda disappointed from this one.

Im having the same issue with Snapchat, and only snapchat. No notifications what so ever.
I tried wiping the data/cache of Instagram and it seems to have worked.
Try on Snapchat and see if that works.
I actually had it happen to Snapchat first but had to factory reset at one point and it worked from then on.
Not sure if other apps are doing it just yet to test whether this is a definite fix.
