Running MIUI Global 9.5.19.0 ODGMIFA
Outlook Web App
Notifications for Appointments not floating
Email notifications are floating but I dont need them
Contacts managed by Outlook do not show all information - for example Birthdays
Contacts managed by Outlook do not sync to outlook.com for days and days and I think they might not even upload at all
Google
I dont need google weather conditions in the Notification centre,
But would like to have the weather listed, when I open google. Cant disable one without disabling the other
You have to enable floating notifications in settings for outlook, go to Settings, installed apps, outlook, notifications and enable pop up. Also choose "no restrictions" for outlook in battery settings
I don't want emails to float though

Thanks to Mango's multiple calendar support and Windows Live Birthday Calendar, my friends' birthdays show up on my lock screen and home screen, and i didn't have to do a single thing (beside keeping my contact list synced and organized), which is great. However, all the birthday events come with a default 12-hour reminder, which my phone notifies me, and its annoying. How do i collectively disable the reminders for all my birthday events?
Same thing has been happening to me. I think its Windows Live Calender setting/issue. Unfortunately, I don't think you can collectively disable them. I think the only way to get rid of it is to go into each birthday in your windows live calender and turn off the notification for that individual.
I found the solution (running Mango 7.5), you go into the Calender, hit the "..." on the bottom right, go to Settings and you can choose to disable birthdays or all of Windows live reminders on the calendar as well.

Thanks.. it worked for me too.. I am not sure what is the default.. I have two HTC Titans, one had it On, and other off..
Disabling the Calendar altogether is another story. It was asked if we can disable notifications for any single calendar or event.
As for disabling notifications of a specific calendar, unfortunately it cannot be done on the phone. You will have to navigate to Calendars in Hotmail and manage notifications from there
You will be presented with options when you select a single calendar and you can easily manage all your notifications (add, edit or remove). You can even send Hotmail to send you notifications via Mail or on your devices via software reminders.
I have personally tested this but have realized that even though i Disabled notifications for the Birthday Calendar of mine, notifications are still pushed to the device.
each account (settings->emails and accounts) has an option to sync contacts, emails and or calendars, right? can't you just can't you just remove calendar from sync settings..
I love the s-calendar widget, but I prefer the google calendar app.
In addition, this tablet has two additional calendars (a local one + a samsung one) that I cannot remove: I can hode them (that is, I make visible only google calendars) but I still get the option when creating a new event.
Anyone found a way to remove the two above calendars?
Anyone has suggestions, tips, tricks when using both samsung and google calendar applications? (for example, to avoid double notification, inconsistencies, etc)
thanks
I think if you disable sync calender in accounts the calender wont sync and hence no double notifications, I am not to sure about it you can try and disable the sync of the calender you do want you to notify

yes I have disabled the sync of the samsung calendar, but when I create an event I still have the opportunity to choose it from the list of the available calendars...
also, I have noticed that when creating an event with s-calendar there is no remonder: you have to add it, while with google calendar there's always a default reminder
In S Planner in settings below settings you will all you accounts have you gone into different accounts and uncheck all the sync settings

either I have a different s-planner or I am still missing something...
I have disabled sync for all non-google calendars and this solved half of my problem: now in s-planner I only see the google calendars (3 in total)
ut when I create a new event in s-planner, in the list of available calendars, I still see 5 calendars: the 3 google calendars, the local one (calendario personale, in the picture) and the samsung one (samsung calendar in the pic).

maybe u can also help me with the default reminder missing in s-planner when creating a new event
Look at this
The more you check the more events will be visible

I did that, but samsung calendar and local calendar still shoe up in the list of available calendars when creating an event...
The above option will help you in telling Splanner with which accounts to sync the accounts
This option will allow you to select from which accounts the calender events should be displayed
As far displaying the number of accounts my list is even more then yours I have around 5 same samsung accounts
Some of my newer contacts are not synching with either my Google Contacts or my Outlook.com contacts. I'm on a Nexus 5 running Android 5.1.
I use Outlok.com for my primary repository for contacts and calendars, however I use GSyncit add-on for MS Outlook (desktop) to sync my desktop Outlook contacts and calendars to Google. This way I can use Outlook.com or Google Calendar / GMail to access/share my calendar and access contacts depending on the situation.
Everything is working fine on the desktop end so that is irrelevant to this problem (so probably shouldn't even have wrote the above paragraph - but just in case.)
I see there is a new Google Contacts app on the phone and on the web. I noticed this when I clicked on the People app and it said the app was missing. When I go to the web version of Google Contacts via my Google account, there are no contacts there! All my contacts are still in Gmail though of course.
I see that when I attempt to edit an older contact on the phone, it first prompts me with which Google account I want to sync with. I don't need to sync my phone contacts directly with Google, I just want to sync with Outlook.com -> Outlook -> Google (via GSyncit) but I suppose it wouldn't cause a problem if I just had the phone sync to both accounts (probably will then need to disable GSyncit contact sync between Outlook desktop and Google).
What is weird is that it is like Google made the mistake of launching this new contacts app, but there's no notice or migration instructions on the changes with the new app. I just happend to discover something was "unhooked" by trying to edit a contact! I just discovered the new Contacts app on the web by Googling, Google Contacts. I'm technically saavy and somewhat of an Android Wonk, and am surprised this is all a surprise!
Do I have to go try to edit every single contact on the mobile Contacts app now to select which Google account it syncs with? I HOPE NOT!
At the risk of appearing dumb I'm leaving my original post for background. It appears this is (not surprisingly) all a Microsoft issue. When I went into the Outlook.com app on my phone, when you click on the Contacts and Calendars Sync setting, nothing happens! Come to find out this app is no longer on the play store. It appears to have been replaced earlier this year by the Microsoft Outlook Preview. Installed that app, and it doesn't and an account type to the phone! So it appears, unlike the Outlook.com app, it won't sync calendars and contacts with the native Android calendar and contacts app. It's as if Microsoft is trying to make you use their new app instead of the stock Android apps that just sync with the Outlook.com account? Please say this isn't so!

Title: How To Sync Contacts & Calendars with Native Android Phone Apps?
Reply
Hi,
Unfortunately , by design, it is not yet possible to sync your Android phone contacts to your Outlook.com account.
Note: At the moment, you can only sync Outlook.com contacts to your android phone.
Please provide your suggestions/opinion as a feedback to the development team. To do this, click on the gear icon on the top right corner of Outlook.com homepage and select 'feedback' from the dropdown menu.
Hope this information is helpful.

However, this isn't that big of a deal as I come to find out, even though there is no longer an Outlook.com account type on the phone any more, you can use the Exchange account type and use server address: s.outlook.com and then you can sync everything. Why the MS Tech didn't point this out it baffling.
(big middle finger for you Microsoft)
I have my Google account syncing just fine on the phone, but when I go to Calendar app to view what my agenda shows for the day, nothing shows except the birthdays.
I have tried adding the account again but zmesssge says "Account already installed."
I've looked in the app to see what calendars get shown and all I see is the phones contacts.
How do I get my Google calendar appointments to show up and not just birthdays.
Thanks very much.
PS - I'm not having syncing problems like other users have posted, it's just that nothing shows up, only birthdays.
Are you using Google calendar app or default Huawei...?
I'm using Google Calendar but it doesn't show up as one of the calendars listed even though the account is installed on the phone.
I've always used my Google calendar as my default on my phone without installing any extra app as the entries normally just sync via Account settings.
I know I can download and install the actual Google Calendar app but would rather just have everything sync with the default installed calendar app.
LG G6
Android Version 9.0
I have an issue synchronizing between different calendar accounts (2 Google, 1 Microsoft Outlook). For some time I thought it was the stock app on my LG phone but have since played around with some 3rd party calendar apps and I have the same issue.
Basically, synchronization downstream works fine but when I create an event on my phone it won't synchronize upstream to the 3 accounts.
Now, when I open the event creation form in any of the calendar apps normally it has a default calendar account selected. It's normally called "Phone" or just "Calendar". If I change this default calendar then the upstream sync works but that's no good as I want all 3 calendar accounts to be in sync not just one.
Does anyone have any ideas on what's happening here? Am I doing something obvious that's wrong? If I want all 3 calendars to show the same events then which calendar account should I be selecting in the event creation process?
I've already tried removing accounts then adding them back in and turning autosync off then on again on my device.
