Background streaming apps are killed - Honor View 10 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I noticed the Honor View 10 kills apps such as Netflix or Spotify when streaming in background to Chromecast or Spotify Connect respectively, even with battery optimizations turned off. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I'm on BKL-L09 C432.
Thanks.

Hello,
I update to the 160b and have the problem with podcast when screen go off, but Spotify work well. I think that honor do something wrong...

Thanks. Does that mean Spotify works for you when streaming to Spotify Connect devices? Or just with headphones / phone speaker?

Go to app power management and set it to manual for the app and enable all the three options it will mostly solve the issue.

Already done that, it doesn't unfortunately.

Unfortunately it's a known problem and the only workaround I have is to leave the screen on...

So I'm not the only one experiencing that ... I wonder if it's affecting everyone or just some of us.

Anyone tried disallowing battery optimization?

Of course...

Thanks, that works for me too. It's casting to chromecast/airplay/DLNA that seems to be broken.

I have same problems. All battery optimizations I could find are disabled but Spotify gets killed after ~30 mins of playing. I noticed that after I start it again after this, it behaves really weird. It doesn't show status bar notification even if playing in background and if I disconnect headphones during playback, it won't pause and continue playing through speaker. This can be solved by killing Spotify manually in app switcher.
Anyways, today I tried to "lock" Spotify in app switcher and it didn't get killed during my ~0,5 hour drive... so maybe problem can be solved this way...?
//update: Tried locking Spotify today and it partially helped. It didn't stop playing but after a while issues with missing notification and not pausing when disconnecting jack appeared again.
But at least music don't stop. It woke me couple of times when I fell asleep listening to music...

[Q] Google Music doesn't advance songs with screen off.

I haven't seen this posted anywhere, but no matter which rom I use (tried them all, currently on Revolver 0.2) when the screen is off, Google Music won't advance to the next song in the playlist. It buffers and is loaded because as soon as I hit the power button to turn the screen on (don't even have to swipe to unlock) the next song starts playing.
Anyone else have this issue or an idea of how to fix it? It's frustrating only listening to one song at a time. Thanks!
noticed that aswell i had it also play a few songs before i had to repower it.
Same here. But worse, when I turn on the screen to advance the song, there is now crackling and static in the audio, which only goes away by closing and restarting the Music app.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Yeah, I get the crackling too, but I've found that it goes away if I just pause it for two seconds and then resume playing.
Very annoying indeed, unless you set the screen to never turn off. Anyone know of any 3rd party app that can advance through the songs?
I think this is an issue with Google Music. I sometimes have the same issue with GM on my Evo.
I have no issue with GM on my MyTouch 4g.
Mine advances to next songs fine with screen off, been using it for a couple weeks, in fact I'm listening to Adema now on it as I work and it's advancing fine with screen off.
Change your WiFi Sleep Policy to never. I think what's happening is that when its going to the next song, WiFi is deactivated because your tablet is in idle status.

My Tf wifi is set to never, still has the same problem. Google Music has a bug, all of my other music players work flawlessly. The GM pause even happens to me with local music.
Ignore me I should have read the thread title before posting, apologies to all!

Guess you don't know what Google Music is?
Google Music syncs with a online playlist. More info @ http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/11/google-music-beta-walkthrough-what-it-is-and-how-it-works-vide/
Thanks, to be perfectly honest I skim read the title and just assumed it was the stock music player app that was being referred to as that has exactly the same issue. I knew of Google music before.
Sorry for the misplaced reply.
Looks like this is fixed in 3.2, at least on mine. No more reaching for the power button to goto the next track. Thanks Google.

Happening to me on 3.2 but on my acer iconia both the lack of next song and static
I'm on the latest firmware and it doesn't seem to be fixed. Clear Data and everything else doesn't seem to work as well. Any ideas?

[Q] Lollipop Bluetooth Volume issue

I've searched all over, and I feel kinda like I'm the only one experiencing this issue. :crying:
We all know, normal operation is as follows: You play music via bluetooth. When you get an event that generates a sound, usually, the music plays a bit quieter, the sound plays and then the music returns to normal volume.
Whenever I use ANY Lollipop ROM, after the sound plays, the volume keeps turning up (even higher than I can with the volume controls) until the sound becomes distorted and very obnoxious to listen to. A quick work around is just to toggle the volume down then back up. However, you can imagine how difficult that is in the shower, or when I'm driving.
I've reverted back to 4.4.4 for now, I don't have those issues. But I'd really like to upgrade to Lollipop. I'm hoping someone has some insight into this, or at least this will get the ball rolling.
Thanks for your time! :fingers-crossed:
I have the same problem on Lollipop
*sigh* this thread got about as far as they all do. LOL No one seems to know what the issue is

Yep, I'm having the same problem. I can't listen to music and use Google Maps voice navigation at the same time in the car because of it. My solution was to mute the voice.
Looks like we'll just have to wait it out. It's a very strange problem; even stranger still it applies to all Lollipop ROMs. I also thought I was the only one!

Guess we'll have to wait until this gets the attention of someone who can do something about it. Until then, I'm stuck at KitKat --- Oh Also, new fact.. I't's NOT just bluetooth, it happens when using wired audio too.

LOL glad to see I'm not the only one!
I dont get it with wired, but I get it with Bluetooth. I pause and play my audio and it goes back to normal levels.
I have another problem. Every time I'm listening to music (Spotify) in-car I can't listen to the navigation voice! It keeps lowering the volume of the media down every time the lade in the phone should say something but instead it's just silent!! This is getting really annoying and dangerous at the same time (while driving)! Even the "Here" app from Nokia doesn't play over any bluetooth connection (including BT Speakers)!

Audio stuttering

Hi all, just wondered if anyone else had this issue. While playing music through google play music everything works fine, even with the screen off, however occasionally when I wake the device back up I might get a slight pause or stutter in the music playback. This can also happen if I'm switching between intensive apps while music is playing in the background. I've performed a factory reset, and it doesn't make a difference if using headphones or not.

probably nope
I'll pay attention to this in way to check if this happens on my phone too, i have the same firmware running except that I'm on B372 (latest build for BLN-L21C432).
Anyway, begin to warn Huawei through their contact form on their site. The first they're aware about this, the first they can work on it and find a fix (if it's possible).
I've noticed the same problem last week. Music stops playing pretty much every second time the screen gets turned off.
Same problem with Spotify and Soundcloud apps, however weirdly enough the default Music app works without any problems.
Any suggestions?

OP6 bluetooth volume fluctuates

Hey I think this problem came after updating to official pie.
The problem is that if I play music on Spotify using a Bluetooth speaker the volume sometimes lowers itself then goes back to the normal volume, then lowers itself again, and it keeps doing that. I have tried 2 different Bluetooth speakers and same problem on both of them. This doesn't happen to my friends phone on of the speakers which is his. Does anyone else have this problem ask as well? It's have you fixed it? Headphone volume is working properly, it's only the Bluetooth.
I think the problem was that I had the volume slider on my phone at Max and only used the buttons on the speaker device to adjust the volume. Having the slider at about 50% I now don't have that problem, for now at least. It was the low bassy parts of songs that most often got it's volume lowered for bit.
You're not crazy! It happened to me and drove me crazy. I think it was an issue with Spotify although I'm not sure but it's gone for me now as far as I can tell..
Finally someone else also. I posted about this one other time but nobody came across. But I guess V4A helped in it, I'm not sure though.

Drove me crazy as well, I did a factory reset. However, the problem got worse, the maximum volume of all my bluetooth devices was extremely low.
I finally fixed the problem by disabling the "Disable absolute volume" in the developer option menu.
Love the oneplus phones, (started at the one), but the audio especially over bluetooth really bothers me...

My first OnePlus phone was also the One. And upgrading to the 6 best decision ever still. But yeah the Bluetooth problem needs to be fixed :/ I tried the disable absolute volume to a while ago but it didn't help for me with the volume going up an down by itself.
This is happening to me. I thought it was my headphones or Deezer but I've tried the headphones with more devices and it doesn't happen. Glad I'm not the only one.
I've had this same issue occur whenever I had V4A Installed. After installation and setup, it'd work just fine, then randomly this same issue occurred. Curious to see if anyone can relate
same problem here, I fixed it by using a custom rom for now
Turn off Bluetooth
Connect a Wired headset go to Audio tuner
Disable Equalizer
Disconnect your wired headset
Turn of Bluetooth again
And Valla! Problem solved.

This fix is working great. Somehow the audio tuner was conflicting with Bluetooth audio output. Although I feel the sound is now a bit flat, the annoying issue is resolved. Need to test this on 9.0.3.

Music playback going haywire, stopping starting, skipping, and muting

I've been trying to listen to music on my phone recently and I cant at all it seems. I can't even listen to it for 5 minutes on any player both pulsar and musicolet do this. They stop randomly they start again the music is muted, they skip songs randomly. I was literally walking along the path, with the screen watching my phone go haywire like it was possessed. Skipping songs constantly, and muting and stopping and starting.
I hope this can be fixed because music is my main use for the phone. I'll have to return it, if I cant even listen to music on it.
Do you by any chance were using earphones?
If a cable breaks there may be such behavior.

Try to do it the other way around.. get another set of headphones to your phone and see if the problem still occurs... If not, problem solved, cable broken..?

I just bought the phone, the only other issue is it crashes my wifi every time it connects, which I think is to do with the Asus router.
But anyway I think I may have solved the problem, I changed the battery optimisation for pulsar to don't optimise and that seems to have worked no problems for 2 days now.
