G920V with broken screen - Is it possible to bypass lock screen to recover data? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Hello,
my phone fell to the ground, the screen went blue, then black. I can't see anything. It had stock ROM on it, I never updated the firmware nor tried to root it. Thing is, I would like to access the phone to recover pics, contacts, and so on. I had enabled the USB debug mode a while ago to transfer data to the computer. However, when I plug it in to my computer now, I can't access the phone because I had the fingerprint lock on, and when you reboot you can't use the fingerprint as you need to first use the backup password. But I can't type the password because the screen is completely black. So I'm stuck there!
I can get to download mode, and Odin does recognize the phone. If I were to use Samsung's newest firmware, would that solve the issue? I'm thinking here that updating to the newest firmware would mean I wouldn't have to type the password to get in, but I really have no idea.
There are few programs out there that claim that you can actually bypass the lock screen, but they do not support the G920V as of now.
Any tips would be much appreciated!

Perhaps attempt using an USB OTG adapter with a keyboard. It may take a couple attempts, but should work to get the password in.

Help retrieving pictures - Broken LCD

Hello,
I've got a GS3 that I need to get pictures off of. The digitizer and lcd are both broken. The phone turns on but the screen is black. There's a lock code on the phone so I have to unlock it to put it in media mode, which is the problem. The phone is not rooted and it's got stock ROM. I've been searching for two days now for a way to get the pictures off of this phone. There's solutions out there that involve connecting a mouse and entering the unlock code but that won't work as the screen will not turn on. Tried adb but the device is not detected. Any help would be GREATLY apprecitated.
Got it figured out. Hooked up a keyboard to the phone (as opposed to mouse as other forums suggested) and was able to type in the unlock code. I had kies running so as soon as I typed the unlock code and hit enter I unplugged the keyboard and plugged the phone into my computer and I was able to transfer everything to my pc via kies.
Glad to see you posted your solution. That will go a long way towards helping others.

Data Recovery With Broken Screen

i unfortunately broke my screen the other night and was wondering if it was possible to still get my files and messages off of it:
-verizon if it matters
-maybe 2% of the screen flashes
-i have a fingerprint unlock
-it has never been off since this happened
here is what ive tried:
-installed samsung smart switch but it will not recognize phone since it is not in file transfer mode (cannot do this because of broken screen)
-hooked up an old monoprice micro hdmi adapter to try a second screen but it does not seem to work (perhaps user error)
-got on android device manager and thought i could unlock it but it only seems to lock...changed password but it said something about already having a lock on there so not sure
any other options or info on what i am doing wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated...tia!
Should be able to get your files from it just by connecting it to USB on the PC
By default it should open as a storage drive as long as the phone is unlocked
For messages, if you didn't disable Samsung cloud backup/sync, they should be in your samsung cloud account

Samsung S7 photo recovery

Alright, so I just recently broke my phone so that my screen is completely black and won't respond to any touch. I have quite a few photos that I am trying to recover and transfer to my laptop, but can't do most obvious ways because of said screen damage. I had a friend suggest ADB but have no clue how to use it. Anyone have any ideas?
There are solutions, but they are not free
You can use a data recovery tool to install on your PC and access your phone through it. However, most of these tools cost.
Do NOT use Dr Fone or similar tools, they just wreck the OS
If you had lockscreen security enabled on the phone you would need some way to unlock it before copying via USB worked
If they're that important, get the screen fixed
Smart Switch might be able to make a backup but it's not very good

How to recover data black/broken screen S7

Hello, few days ago my phone's screen stopped working. So I cannot access my phone since its locked behind pattern lock. I tried with ADB but I keep getting ADB Device Unauthorized and I don't know how to fix that.
As far as I know I believe USB Debugging is enabled. I tried a lot of ways with useless one click apps, mirror screen apps but nothing work as I need to unlock phone to give permission to the computer to communicate with the phone, but I cannot do that since the device screen doesn't work and I cannot see anything. I have an OTG cable and tried to unlock with mouse but its easier said than done.
Can someone give me any tutorials.
It requires a couple of your phones internal software switches to be set in order to access your phone via the USB interface. If you have not already set these switches before the screen got broken you may be out of luck.

Recovering data through USB

Today my phone felt down totally flat. The screen hits the floor directly.
It carries a protector above the screen, and apparently it is the only part that broke down
The screen seems to be in perfect status.
But the problem is screen is not working. None light is shown, and no reaction is performed.
If I touch the power button during 20s, the phone vibrates and it seems to be restarted.
When I connect the charger, the led works fine. Although no sound is played.
I would like to repair the phone, but at least (and this is important) I need to download all the data to the PC.
Question: is there any way to access to the data in the phone without having the screen available?
PHONE: MI9
OS: MIUI12.5

If you did not USB debugging enabled in system settings before the screen broke, you will not be able retrieve your data. Now that your screen is broken, there is no way for you to enable USB debugging in order to retrieve your data.
Your options are:
1) repair the screen so you can retrieve your data.
2) forget about your data and get a new device.
Live and learn. I keep USB debugging enabled on all my devices for this very reason.
I found that I can retrieved my data thanks to custom recovery. I had a bit of lucky because with adb, data can be retrieved trhough custom recovery.
Usually, I have USB debugging activated but this time it was not activated as from last ROM update it is deactivated by default.
Now, I will deassembly the phone just to understand which is the root cause as touch sensor is working fine. So I need to understand if the problem comes from the screen or in the worst-case from connectors or PCB. In this last case I would need to get a new device, and I would like to keep this one for a few more time, even when there is no more OS update.

I was going to suggest that but wasn't sure you would actually be able to install it or even if a custom recovery existed for your device since you didn't post what model you have. Also, if you had needed to unlock your bootloader to flash a custom recovery, unlocking the bootloader would have wiped your data.
Yes, you were lucky, most users in this condition are screwed out of recovering their data.
