Had several few bad drops and eventually decided to go with a heavy duty case (Otterbox E4). But in the process had to replaced the Moto G5 screen, TWICE.
Fairly easy disassembly, used several videos floating on YouTube. No photos of unwrap, attached packaged container(s).
Digitizer purchased online from ETradeSupply, took about one week to receive in US.
5/5 :good: - Would recommend, shipping and quality standards are good.

I would have also bought the $1 ear speaker part had I seen it before.

Amzer and Fommy.com are joke retailers in my opinion. I ordered a case from them, a hard case, which in the pictures on their site showed that it covered the front bottom portion of the phone completely around the trackball. It looked great in the pic as it showed it protected every exposed area of the phone except the screen and trackball. They charged $17 + 5 shipping which I though was a bit high for a hard case but since it covered the whole phone I thought it was worth it. After waiting 2 weeks for delivery what I got was totally different than what was pictured. It's a hard case that covers only the outer front edge of the phone like a crystal case. Not worth more than five dollars on eBay. I went back on there site and noticed that the small image of the case still looks like what i thought I was ordering but if you hover your mouse over the image a larger image appears that is totally different than the smaller. This image was changed after the day I ordered at some point. I talked to a CSR (Fommy.com) and they had no idea what i was talking about and said they would need to look into it and get back to me, that was a week ago. I e mailed Amzer about it and they never responded back (Partner site). The customer service rep did say i could ship it back at my expense. WTF. Theives and con-artists. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with them. Pass it along.
Add cheapnexusone.com to that list.
Good for us to know about these bad sites! thanks
There's another thread like this as well. I posted on there on my experience. The best way to get in touch with them is during the day on the IM on their site to get ANYTHING done. Emails go unanswered.
Strange.. I ordered an Amzer Argyll case from them and it arrived within 5 days and was perfect..
well i just ordered "the diamond" case yesterday from ultra-cases.com, i will let you guys know how it goes.
Edit: bought one from ebay, worked fine. Sounds a bit tinny, but beggars can't be choosers. I'm just glad to have it working.
I finally found a place with replacement speakers for the Nexus One. I had to email them to inquire about it because it wasn't listed on their site. They later emailed me back saying they had to check if their supplier had them.
Then they emailed me back telling me they've listed the part. I know a lot of people have had problems with theirs crackling, and mine blew out entirely.
So for anyone interested, here's the link (if I can post links, not sure.)
http://www.globaldirectparts.com/OEM-Google-Nexus-One-Speaker-p/htc736640.htm
The minimum buy limit however is 5, and I plan on buying some. So if anyone needs one let me know.
And just for fun, let me tell you all what I've put my Nexus through.
First, within the first 2 months of release I dropped it from my lap while getting out of the car and shattered the screen. I've since managed to replace the digitizer and got it up and working perfectly again.
Then, I dropped it in a tub of water, while it was on and I was watching youtube videos!
That time I managed to save all but the speaker, by quickly pulling the battery, then giving it an alcohol bath.
Update!
There's now one listed on Ebay for $5.98, they have over 10 in stock.
I've just placed an order, I'll report back here with my results when it arrives.
At least the speaker is easy to replace.
need better speaker rather then the oem's

did you replace the digitizer yourself? or did u send it in for repairs and if so how much did it cost? I recently cracked my screen T_T
just bought a used nexus and the speaker is awful. where'd you'd see about doing the replacement yourself?
Zephyron: yes, I replaced it myself. I ordered the digitizer off of ebay for around $70.that was about 2 months after the phone came out. Prices should have dropped by now.
Damngood98: from my digitizer repair I knew replacing the speaker would be a simple job of dropping the part in. all you need to do is remove the black plastic housing where the battery sits (3 security screws and some gentle prying with an ipod pry tool) and just swap the parts.

i saw that you posted a link to the site that has them with a minimum order, and then mentioned you found it on ebay
any chance that you ordered a batch of them and have an extra laying around? would hate to have to wait 3-4 weeks to get one from hong kong
are these stock speakers or are they better quality than stock? i'd be curious to buy one off you if they are better sounding.
Are any of these ebay "buzzer" speakers, the same thing as the N1 external speaker?

hi all
I always wanted that wood back cover after looking at the first generation MOTO x but as luck would have it when i bought the second generation here in india and there was no MOTO MAKER to customise the phone aesthetically. Importing anything like skins or back covers from USA has its own hassles so ended up searching the internet and found this http://www.gadgetshieldz.in/motorola-moto-x-2nd-gen-2014-decals-wraps.html looked great so thought of giving it a try. Ordered on 24th Feb and by 26th it was waiting for at home after coming from office. The instructions are pretty clear but was still doubtful whether i should take this on myself or not, turns out it is not that hard as long as you match the alignment of the small bits that cover the logo and camera. If you are not as daring as me i would suggest go to any local mobile shop, these guys are pro at this and would charge a very small fee for the same. i haven't applied the front cover which comes with a screen guard albeit as i had just got a new matte screen guard so keeping it aside for later. I ordered ebony wood and the feel of the product is good, it doesn't feel like a cheap plastic instead gives the feeling of a real wood back cover. The service is great as the delivery was fast and the product even better. I am uploading pictures of the product.
Now i now they are a pretty well known site for phone accessories, aside from them asking you to pay a ridiculous amount of money for shipping with crap arrival times (2.99 for 10-15 day arrival or 8.99 or 4-5 day arrival) has anyone successfully used them recently? I'd like to grab the official Note 7 Screen protectors they have available (or so they say) but that shipping cost and time, PLUS the horrible comments left by customers on their Facebook have me a bit worried.
Any help?
Yeah, I got the screen protectors in, you want to buy mine? I returned my Note 7 and don't feel like going through the hassle of trying to return them lol.
I did buy mine like a month ago from them, it took a ridiculous amount of time to show up. Never opened mine.

Whataya wanting for them?
Ordered mine to California. Came in less than 1.5 weeks even though it was backordered. Enjoying my nice new Official Samsung SC.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using XDA-Developers mobile app
I ordered a spare cable, wireless fast charge stand (official) and the official screen protectors from them at the beginning of September and they arrived pretty quickly. I use MobileFun infrequently (usually only when I order a new device) and I have personally never had an issue with them.
I did have to wait about a week for the screen protectors, the stock update on site was pretty accurate iirc.
On a side note, I found the official screen protectors to be absolutely useless with my choice of case. I bought a large tablet one in the end which I will wrap around the phone. (When I eventually get a bloody replacement...)
Shipping took a while to arrive in Singapore. But otherwise, they pulled through. Guess I'm used to long shipping times.
100% reputable. They ship from the UK, so yea, it has to pass customs, etc. etc. And that's if the item is in stock. I ordered the official Samsung OEM SP's, and I received them in 1.5 weeks. I haven't applied them yet since getting my replacement, but will do it soon. Looking for a case that is SP friendly. My Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal looks like it may push up the SP a bit.

Do you plan to get a tempered glass screen protector?

No.
If nothing ever comes in contact with your screen except your hand, there's no reason to have a screen protector. The reason most people scratch their screens is because they put them in their pockets with other stuff like coins and keys. If I'm paying $700 or so for a handheld computer, I'm not sticking it in my pocket like it's my spare change.
I use a belt holster most of time. I try not to stick my phone in my pockets, since I keep metal objects like keys on a key chain and coins in my pockets. The few times I do put my phone in my pocket -- like when wearing shorts with elastic band -- I make very sure nothing else is in that pocket. And that's very rarely. The only time I have ever scratched my phone screen (one of the Nexus phones years ago) was the one time I ignored that rule. Learned my lesson.
Yep.
Because if I pay $700 for a handheld computer, I'm going to afford it all the physical protections I would a $700 handheld computer :v
Seriously though, I live in a rural area, where gravel dust - containing quartz, which is harder than the Mohs 6 that the digitizer glass is - is quite abundant.
I had my Droid 4 out on my desk for one day, before the screen protector arrived, and managed to inflict several super-fine scratches just playing with it. One day. Thankfully, my Turbo/Quark came with a Verizon one preinstalled (which itself has received several scratches so far).
Gorilla glass is under stress by design: each scratch is a potential hit to impact resistance. I keep my Quark in a case and plan to continue doing that with whatever I get next, but every bit of added durability on top of that helps.
(amusingly, this is the first phone I've actually felt I needed to protect. my previous phones - aforementioned Droid 4 and an LG Ally - were built like bricks and survived several drops apiece. good ol' keyboard sliders.)
As for which one, well, whichever one gets it right. Apparently nobody has figured out how to make a good one for Samsung's ridiculously-curved screens, but I'm hoping that the lesser-curved digitizer on the v30 will be less of an issue.
I'm not particularly picky about brands, but I will say that if it comes down to getting a rubber film instead, I'll probably get a Skinomi one. It worked pretty well for my pre-Quark phones (though obviously isn't as nice to the touch as glass is).
I got the LG v20 and I order the screen protector after the phone but luckily it came with one pre-installed. I want to the v30 but am in the process of porting the v30 to the v20 and I always recommend a temper glass protection. Why? just because of being human and human error and you never know, somebody could bump you and accidentally dropped it. But to each it owns. $700+ for a phone is a lot, the v20 was $850+, especially if its main purpose is to call and text. That's why I always put cases and screen protector on my mini laptop. But I know myself and I was try to prevent things before it's to late...Better safe than sorry
I plan on getting the V30 (coming from 2015 Moto X Pure) and I always get a screen protector. I don't put my phone in my pockets but always in my belt clip holster. There's times where I have fumbled with my phone and it has fallen or it being on the desk and it takes an accidental tumble or just pure accidental bumping into something.
All my portable electronics have tempered glass i.e. iPads, digital cameras
All it takes is that one lucky drop.
i just bought the Wimaha one from Amazon.. hopefully it fits well
Waiting to see if there's one on it like the V20 had. I still have the one that came with the V20 on it. Had it since it came out. Somehow I suspect the V30 won't have one though as I bet they want to show off that screen.
I went with the GLASS-M one on Amazon. Hoping it works well on the v30. Will post back after it shows up tomorrow.
Edit,
Great protector from what I can tell. Easy to adhere

Is it US amazon ? Did you notice the 2 reviews on amazon about that screen protector ? One is written in 2015 and one in 2016 , AND marked as verified purchase by amazon . LOL I wold rather wait for this one and see
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1361013-REG/gadget_guard_ggbiplc208lg02a_black_ice_glass_screen.html
Yeah I did .... honestly tried to find one that looked like the one from Verizon. No idea how amazon let them review it unless it was a different product listing and somehow got updated?
Anyways, easy returns if it doesn’t work. But their other protectors (other devices) looked to get good reviews.
I got this.... LG V30 Screen Protector, Vigeer [ 2 Pack ] [0.3mm, 2.5D] on amazon... it doesn't connect at the rop right edge... sucks.... I hope I can return...
I picked up this same model and I'm not very happy with it. There's a dot grid that's visible when around bright overhead lights (office lighting, sun, etc) and the oleophobic coating does not seem to perform very well. I just placed the screen protector yesterday and I find myself constantly wiping the screen to remove fingerprints.

Full screen protection and case friendly? I hate the ones that don't go side to side cause they are ugly will watching videos and even just using keyboard they add a lip to the side

I bought this as well and it is trash. About every third tap did not register. Very frustrating. I also tried one of the plastic stick on type like I had for my Galaxy S5, but it never kept contact near the curved edge. Still looking for one that isn't crap.
just picked up this one below;
Spigen LG V30 Screen Protector NeoFlex / 2 Pack / Wet Application for LG V30
Wet application type but well see how it goes!
Anybody know about the Qmaddix "liquid glass" stuff. Seems people swear its the greatest or its "snake oil". Verizon Reseller is pushing it hard!

Judging by the reviews it's either deal or really hard to do correctly

This issue of finding a nice screen protector is one of the reasons I'll probably be going back to my g6
