Hello Community,
I hope, someone can help me out.
My device is a Mediapad X2 GEM 701L.
It is flashed with the B206 international ("Pianoralfs B206 international", based on AJ's B206 international).
All is working smooth, no issues, but one:
"About phone" shows 32 GByte internal memory , but when I look by the internal explorer oder telephone-manager, only 24 GByte internal storage are.
shown.
I do not know, where the missing 6 GByte are gone.
I flashed the GEM702 Stock-Rom and did a factory reset, hoping, that the issue will be solved. But that does not work.
I repaired the filesystem with TWRP, but this does not work, too.
The 6 GByte are still missed.
Can someone help me, to get them back ?
Thank You very much and please, excuse my bad English, my motherlanguage is German.
kind regards, MalcomX
....... same here...
Strange.....
some screenshots..
second screenshot...it is a little annoying, writing with the xda / xda labs app, because it is not possible, to edit a post and upload an image. Only text can be edited...
Your 32GB includes Android OS, System apps, APKs you have installed, etc.
The remaining balance is for your usage.
Hope it helps!
Please use the QUOTE feature when replying to me to get my attention. Thanks!

E--Man, you made my day. It is irritating, to see only 26 GByte on that way, because it pretends, that this is the complete internal storage.
Sometimes I think, I cannot see the forest because of all these trees around...

English ROM supplied from Pipo for the U2.
Differences in the standard ROM, 70mb smaller with all Chinese apps removed from factory and defaults to English.
The build date is later than the latest available from the Pipo website and seems to have better wifi coverage...
Sorry, had to upload in two parts due to the size.
Link for flash tool: http://www.mediafire.com/?5rzsadl7tmhg1d1
Part 1 of rom http://www.mediafire.com/?145py7tcdmuu5aq
Part 2 of rom http://www.mediafire.com/?1m7nzmzda9vukah
Root method: CWM and Superuser http://www.mediafire.com/?0g1tc07kx0tu482
Root English U2 firmware
Use ZhuoDaShi-2.2.9 (Chinese application) http://www.mediafire.com/?mddj3wn8z2rcb1u or flashable zip as described above...
Thank You very much for the provided image razmattaz!
If I may ask... where did You get a later build number than the one provided my Pipo on their website.
We are discussing the Pipo wifi coverage over at slatedroid.
I for one have abysmal coverage only 15 feet and a wooden room door away from my AP.
While my mobile phone is still showing me 6-7 APs in my vicinity, the Pipo U2 won't find more than my own and hardly establish a reliable connection with it.
Do You have the feeling the reception really improved after using Your rom since yesterday?
(Sorry for my english btw...)
Regards & thanks,
Yoko

Your welcome!
This English rom came from Pipo and though they tell me it is the same as the Chinese firmware minus the Chinese bloatware etc I am constantly receiving atleast 1 bar higher signal and the connection is not dropping as it previously had done
Just added files for CWM and flashable SU script that will give root access without the need to install ZhuoDaShi which is in Chinese

I was just about to ask you how to use ZhuoDaShi. You're very quick mister Bond. Can you already answer me what i'm thinking next, so that i don't have to type the question?
Does it wipe evrything on the precious when you upgrade?
Thank you.
Good to see other buyers of this sexy little tablet.

Installing the firmware will wipe everything including the internal SDcard storage space (internal memory).
CWM & Root will not.

There is an english rom directl on PIPO site:
w w w.pipo.cn/En/index.php?m=About&a=gujian_show&id=73
(sorry can't post outside links)
Don't know if it is the same version...
Hi,
This is a mod of a 4.4.2 EMUI 3.0 ROM that works perfectly on my Huawei Ascend G6-U00. Dual SIM support. It is an improvement over an earlier 4.4.2 version that had Caller ID and other issues. I have no time to work on this ROM too much as I needed to have my mobile working, so I am posting it as is - bugs listed below.
No GApps, needs flashing separately, although Google Play framework is present (surprisingly).
Serious issues:
None noticed.
Minor issues:
A 3G/4G switch is present in Settings but, naturally, don't expect 4G to work on a 2G/3G-only phone - the max you will get will be HSPA+ irrespective of the switch setting.
The original FlyIME Chinese/Latin keyboard is the only one bundled. Other keyboards can surely be downloaded from Play Store or flashed. A few attempts to add Google keyboard to the ROM failed but maybe someone with more knowledge feels like incorporating e.g. the AOSP keyboard in the ROM and remove 40+ MB FlyIME (and all its subfolders)?
A few unnecessary .so files might remain in /system/lib after junk apps were gone. They have no impact on the system but feel free to inspect and remove them as appropriate.
Kinguser app for root management. I did not succeed with installing Superuser or SuperSU on my previous version of a similar ROM and now did not have time nor motivation to experiment with this one. Kinguser works well, though. It is not the latest version but will update on first run.
Boot animation is for a different resolution. Will benefit from replacing to a more decent one.
Credits should go to a now-unknown user who posted this ROM on a Russian-language forum several months ago. I no longer have the URL, nor even forum title. I only did minor modifications and junk removal.
By far this is the best ROM I have had on G6-U00, and if someone took an hour or two to polish out the minor issues above, this would make it an ultimate ROM for this model.
Download links:
Code:
xttp://mega.nz/#!olI1FLZB!Iqp6pOto1m3cNIH7v_o8NeZr0JpHRn8l3lzoJC3KtwQ
394 MB only (and can be weaned further if someone gave it tender love and care).
k.
Hi ! I'm so happy to read this post. I'm from Venezuela and the money is an issue here to buy a phone, i saw the G6 in Amazon last year so i just bought it immediatly, it looked so good for the price, in some way it was too good to be true but that's another history. I've been looking for a custom room since January and this is the first one that i found in a non chinnese-russiand site, i just wanted to say thanks i'll try it to see how it works, but i also have a question: is there a way to really install the apps in the sd card in this phone?, i tried for weeks and i couldn't do it, i just can't do the partitions on the sd card, i guess the OS doesn's allow it or something like that, if you can give some advice it wold be very nice.
Thanks again!!
PS: Sorry for my bad english haha!
Thank You

Yes. I agree completely. I just got mine. I love the phone. Now, if I could root it, I could increase the dpi and delete the bloatware. It could be even better!

Same here, CM12 would be awesome on this beast. Check a few threads Chewy there is root, recovery and even a Custom ROM.
Indeed
CM12 would be amazing on this device... EMUI isn't for me
How can we make this happen?
First huawei should release the source. Then you'll have to find a developer.
If you don't like EMUI why not use a different Launcher?
I use Nova Launcher and you can customize it to your liking and EMUI is pretty much invisible.
I used CM12 on my Note 4 but I got pretty tired of updating every day. Even the latest X2 EMUI 3.1 Beta ROM is rock stable and fast and battery life is pretty awesome.

It may be stable but i found EMUI a bit buggy on some aspects, especially after changing the resolution.
Icon's having the wrong background position for the group icons, installed programs icons are not the full anymore, in landscape when you slide the menu down, there are no soft navigation buttons at the bottom ( making it impossible to exit the program ). EMUI also seems to hide some settings ( like the mtp usb setting that is normally under the Settings - Storage menu, nowhere to be found. It shows up in the notification bar *uch* ).
Battery life has less to with EMUI then, the fact that the X2 is running a 5000mAh battery with two cpu core sets ( little.big A53's ) who both are by default power saving ( and the screen is also not a big energy usage ).
The reason why CM may be interesting is the fact that its already a optimized version with not too much junk programs. I was surprised at how little ( relatively ) was left of the 32GB... My ZU with 16GB had 11GB usable, while the X2 with 32GB has only 23GB available. If the rom was the same size as the ZU's ( what already packs a bunch of junk ), it means there needed to be closer to 28GB available.

You can remove a lot of the system APK's if you're rooted. I've removed a ton and the phone doesn't lag. I'm running my LCD density at 280 and don't seem to have any problems. I don't think the battery life will improve with CM12. Usually the battery life is worse but you get slightly better performance with any CM based ROMS. I'm running Apex launcher and I deleted the EMUI Launcher completely and the phone runs great.
Can I use the Touchwiz Launcher which I am used to??

This is the source code for the kernel. Theoretically it might be enough if we have the device definition to compile in a CM like rom. Do we know any device close to our X2 HW specifications with CM support... ?

Hopefully we can find something soon. Man, if we could get BlissPop on the X2 I'd love this phone so much more that I'd buy two more. I run it on my Nexus 6. It's a fantastic ROM! I'd also love if the Chinese TWRP could be ported to English. I'm sure soon enough it will be.

It is, already. Just after installing Chinese TWRP, you should put English UI theme to this folder in your phone memory: "\TWRP\theme". And rename file to "ui.zip".
You can get files here: h t t p s : / / yadi . sk /d/5YI63uiAhz5UD/Recovery/TWRP (just delete spaces in the link).
Get "287X_v1_1200_dark.zip" for example. Rename it to "ui.zip" and put "ui.zip" to "\TWRP\theme". Profit!

Huawei
Thanks in part to device contributions from Huawei’s team directly, we are now supporting the Honor 4 & 4x (cherry), Ascend Mate 2 (mt2) and Snapto (g620_a2). These devices represent the first set of Huawei devices we’ve supported since CM 7(!) and it’s nice to see the company supporting the community ahead of the rumored Huawei Nexus. We’re expecting good things to come here.

The VKWorld VK700 is a super cheap device costing just about $59.99 but with specs that are quite good for this price tag.
The phone looks quite good, has a CNC metal frame and a 6.9mm thin body.
It features the MT6580a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.5GHz, with 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. This is further expandable up to 64GB via MicroSD. There’s a 5-inch display with 720p resolution, which is quite impressive given the price tag.
At the back, there’s an 5mp camera intrapolated to 8mp while up front, there is a 2mp sensor intrapolated to 5mp. Both cameras do a decent job in bright conditions, however any pictures taken in low light look pretty bad. This was to be expected for such a cheap device.
The device is running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Unfortunately the manufacturer decided to use their own launcher so it can add a few "features" to the device. That doesn't work that well; the phone becomes laggy and the offered features are useless. Installing nova launcher makes wonders and the phone becomes quite fast and snappy.
Another disappointing thing about this device is the 2200mah battery. It seems quite impossible to get more than 2h of screen time on. Of course, not everyone uses their phone that much, and it js quite possible that the phone will make it through an entire day with moderate usage.
Most apps and games work really well on this device even with the 1gb of ram. The phone does get quite hot while playing games. Luckily the heat dissipates quick enough thru the metal frame.
This phone doesn't have a notification light and the 3 buttons at the bottom of the device don't light up.
Overall, for $60usd you get a good looking phone that cuts some corners in order to keep that low price.
Check out the review video for more detailed information about this device.

I can´t download the official firmware + recovery.

Thanks,
Edit: I got it now. Thanks
OTA update to v11 firmware now available. But I don't want to loose root and the custom recovery, so I did not install it yet. The update.zip contains a lot of checks and probably also checks the bootloader and recovery.
Somebody already updated to v11? On the vkworld site, you can only download v08 firmware.

You have to put recovery. After that in recovery you have to install "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" and ready. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxh2gs7XEYrYa3RDNUJWam02WGs/view?usp=sharing)
Getting the SPFlash Tool to work with the right drivers and timing is not always easy.
So is it possible to flash the custom TWRP through fastboot? Did somebody try that?
I own the VK700, paid around $65. Nice entry level phone, happy with it. Just some freezes sometimes probably because of the 1GB ram, and a lazy GPS. Except those minor issues, works great.

I rooted a VK700 a few months ago using RootGenius 2.2.6. More recently I wanted to root another VK700 but RootGenius was unable to do it, telling the VK700 was not in the list of rootable devices. I found it weird but then I used VRoot 1.8.6 and it worked fine.
Maybe you can try using these tools to root the VK700x?
