Welcome, remaining hopeful though.
good news, while the rusia conferences was kinda lackluster, the commitment of HMD for all current android nokia device its just great.

I was watching the conference as he said that. Also they probably screen captured it from sirocco and put it on nokia 8's frame and scaled it to fit it. You can see virtual navbar too from sirocco.

nope he was clearly talking about Nokia 8
plus N8 siroco already has pro mode
Niiiicccceeee. Can't wait till Friday.
I hope post processing improves
It is surely Nokia 8 , at last normal camera app!
My previous phone, Asus Zenfone 2 had a proper 'Pro' mode. I pretty much experiment with it all the time and was able to get some interesting shots.
Which is what the Nokia 8 lacked. I take a lot of photos with my phone, so having a Pro mode is what I would want.
Since the camera's post processing wasn't that great either. The camera notably degraded in performance in low light conditions. And throughout my experience owning the Nokia 8, the camera app was buggy from time to time. I hope that will be fixed in the upcoming update. Since the sensor on the Nokia 8 was actually pretty decent for what it is.
Definitely can't wait.
Will that be via Google Play? Or will it be baked into an OS upgrade?

Thinking of switching to a mate 8. What are your guys opinion ? Also if anyone would be interested in trading me for my 64gb 6p . Also how is the camera quality in other apps such as instagram, snapchat ,etc? I remember on my old lg v10 it looked horrible due to not being optimized. thanks
Only thing this phones missing is pure aosp or cm Roms. Other than that, this is the phone the 2015 nexus should've been
cm roms wouldnt offer much more than the huawei roms, theyre already choke full of functions and extra settings as for aosp looks, u can adapt those easily via themes or custom launcher, no problem there.
im actually very happy that i didnt go the 6p route, the mate 8 is definitely the best phone ive ever had!

I just thinking sell my z5 p and get mate 8. Still can't decide it is worth or not
If the nexus 6P was six inches and had a 4000mah battery I would have gotten that. It doesn't so to me the Mate 8 is better. If a manufacturer doesn't put in a large battery, I don't buy their device.
Mate 8 is better then nexus 6P as well as Z5.
I.have used both for some time.

It doesn't happen like Honor 5X.
For Honor 4X, we got 2 incremental updates Kitkat -> Lollipop -> MM
So we can expect the same for Honor 6X too.
And with our Lineage Devs over here, we can expect further more updates.

Yeah! Considering the specs of the hardware used in the Honor 6X for the price. You get less from other brands like Samsung, HTC or Sony for the same price.

Nexus 6p may be a good recommendation but its usually still double the price of a Honor 6x. At least here.
I am currently holding back on making a 6x purchase as I rather a 64gb black front model which are not yet available here. But it seems there has been some progress with LineageOS. Fingers crossed!

Understand, an used 6P is about same price as a new 6X here in China.
If you are not hurry, maybe just wait for LineageOS to be mature. Otherwise, Honor 5X is another good option.

I'd get Honor 9 as it has some nice improvements. Without double-touch to wake, Honor 8 with its rear-facing fingerprint sensor can be a bit cumbersome to unlock when laying flat on a desk. Other than that, the improvements to camera and audio present in H9 are welcome. Now having said that, I'd wait for the real-life reviews to see how performance and and batery-life of Honor 9 compares to H8 plus note that H9 will be much more expensive for a while, especially if you can find a good deal on H8, which is still an awesome phone.
No one knows the price of honor 9 outside China, and if someone have the honor 8, its not a worthy upgrade

How can you advice some to go for the Honor 9, have you personal tested or used the H9?
Just because these a new model of a previous device doesn't make it a better device.
Now as another member said to the Op if they can wait and have the budget for the H9 then yes Go for H9, but if budget kinda tight the H8 is a good device and may even be able to pick one up for well under 300 green backs.. It all boils down to do you need the new features of the H9?

Hi,
I don't think I've seen any official statements on this. The 3T and 5T were both annouced in November of their respective years and available in the same month.
When the 3T came out, they said it was a one off due to the availability of the SD821. Last year they made no prior comment and then the 5T was launched with a bigger screen.
I would say that we won't get any confirmation until it happens... But I would bet money that there will be a 6T with some form of improvement over the OnePlus 6.
The OnePlus model is to sell a phone at full price with no discounts until it's next model comes out. When the phones were priced very low, they could do that because even after a year it was a competitive choice. Now after a year there are better phones coming out after a year. Moving to a 6 month cycle means they keep people interested and higher sales figures. It's also worth noting that they increased the prices on the 3t but not the 5t. If they are increasing prices on the t models it also means OnePlus are going to flagship territory pricing. Not necessarily flagship killer like they originally used to be. This isn't bad but just demonstrates how their business model is changing to that of a more mainstream brand (similar to Sony with its 2 flagships a year) rather than an upstart.

Lol,
Pretty much...
My two cents is that I think there will be a OnePlus 6T but I will still be looking at the OnePlus 6. You get a phone with a new processor rather than waiting for the 6t when it's already half way through its product cycle.
The way they have supported the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 would seem to indicate they have the same software release cycle as the 3T and 5T respectively so might as well just get the OneOlus 6 when it's out. As for the 6T, it's just like the wider phone market... There are always new phones coming out with some latest feature so no point waiting as you will always be waiting for something better.

The release of a T version depends on a new chipset release by SD. If the Pixel/Note comes up with any later chipsets than 845, there are chances we would get a T device again.

The screen is already updgraded to 19:9 on the 6. I don't think we can see that going any further in 2018, at the max we can see an on screen FPS and a few camera tweaks. As I said earlier it depends on this year's pixel/note/iPhone release for further developments and market competitiveness

Well OnePlus will only start working on the next device after the release of OnePlus 6 and that can be either the 6T or something else so for now no one can confirm for sure. Also the release of the 6T shall depend on the future development in the world of tech and the other competitive devices to be released later in the year like the Pixel 3/Note/iPhone
If 6 is still competitive by the end of the year and there is no significant development in the world of tech, OP might hold its decision and rather release 7 instead of 6T

I'm not worried about a 6T. I got the 3T and then the 5. I skipped the 5T because it was an entirely different phone and I'm happy with my 5. I don't see what more they could pack into a new phone! The 6 will be loaded with the 845, so that won't be upgraded anytime soon. The RAM and storage will be huge so that's not an issue. The new camera and screen will be on point. Dust and water protection? I doubt it.
Not surprissing I guess...

Well even full lists, including tablets, are only showing M6 as planned for an update. And customer support told me only M6 as well. That's just a bad joke ...

As much as I like the hardware Huawei's support sucks. The NA region is still stuck on 8.
Next time I will be getting a samsung tablet as much as I hate them.
US user, and this will be the last Huawei device I buy. One 'major' release, and virtually no security patches. North American market was sold a bill of goods. At least Sammy supports ALL their consumers.

Agree 100% Huawei can take there tablet and shove it as far as I see it.
Will be getting a pixel c or slate when I can justify it.
Hmm lol....well gonna pass on the "no more Huawei for me" train. I have found over the years most that say this never keep their word. I can show you the posts where M5 will NEVER get EMUI 9. And the post "no more Huawei for me". I've had almost all the name brand tablets over the years and the only one that STILL gets updates is one I could really careless about. Amazon
All I knew from the past, what I read about the M5 pro was, its on 8 and will never be updated. Some were people saying they talked to customer service. Yet when I asked them yesterday they said don't worry yours will get 9.1.1. And if 9 is Just coming out.. then 10 will be awhile. I do love Samsung but.. man as each day passes.. more AD's are being seen in programs than never before. As if my $800 was not enough. Its silly and just me I know but when just downloading a new theme I had to watch 14seconds.. things like that. And rooting on top of that was night mar. Unless you bought it out SIDE the USA (different chip set). I already know slow they are Huawei when it comes to updates.. I have p30 pro phone. And.. so.
At least many other OEMs that stop support for their tablets after the first major update, allow the bootloader to be unlocked. Thus I could use Custom ROMs to keep my tablet alive. With Huawei this isn't possible as well. So there's even one more bummer.

Don't forget Samsung explosive battery. It may come back with tab s7.
If anything, I've found Huawei better than most for updates. We've had a lot of discussion about the situation with Google and the US, at which point I changed to a Xiaomi phone, but still pleasantly surprised to get updates on my M5.
A colleague on the other hand, had hardly had any updates on his old Huawei handset, but still liked it enough to replace it with a P30 lite. So they're still doing something right.
You can thank that cretin trump. The M5 was android enterprise certified, with at least 2 major version updates, and 4+ years of support. That went out the window when Huawei got too god at making 5G hardware that US companies were left in the dust

The same happened to my previous Samsung Note Pro 12.2 tablet
I've just had M5 8 May security patch here in UK plus on build 9.1. For me I'm impressed with the updates.
On the other hand I have a M5 lite 8 and this is on January security patch.
Biggest problem with Android these fractured updates.

I had a major update to EMUI 9. I actually see on firmware finder that EMUI 10 is also out there. I'm not just sure if it has been approved for distribution. I also don't know if I want to test flashing it in case Huawei breaks root (again).
